I don't think I've ever dealt with a better Enterprise location. I have always received good service from Enterprise and try to get rental cars through them during my travels. The Rapid City Airport location was absolutely delightful with courteous service and clean, reliable vehicles. read more

Had made a reservation for a rent a car and when I showed them 2 confirmation emails, my reservation was somehow not in the system and they could not could not rectify that. It is not exactly easy to find alternate transportation here. If I encounter more difficulties on my way to Spearfish, this is not the last they'll hear from me. read more

This was the worst rental experience I have ever had. A month after I returned the vehicle, I received an invoice for almost $5,000 worth of damage. The damaged they alleged did not even occur while I had the vehicle. I attempted to contact their manager and they would not let me speak to him. I was told he would call me back, but he never did. I am still collecting info to fight this bogus damage claim and will NEVER use Enterprise again. They clearly allow criminals to work there. read more

It's often difficult to rent vehicles at small regional airports. This was pretty much as expected. All five car rental counters were crammed by an exit just down from the baggage carousel. The Enterprise counter looked no different than the others but it was clear the employees here were either untrained or just not experienced enough to handle a one way rental that wasn't being returned to this rental location. The employee didn't understand one way rentals and was uncomfortable explaining rental options like gas purchases or insurance. This lack of knowledge also resulted in a rather lengthy process and a delay in getting out of the airport. We were given a "free upgrade" to a larger vehicle. I'm assuming it's because we were dropping off at a different airport and this car had California plates. All the other Enterprise cars available here (plenty of the vehicle type/size we reserved) had South Dakota plates. Their goal was to get rid of this non-SD plated vehicle. Our vehicle was clean, had full functioning electric seats, a great sound system, and easily integrated our cell phone in to the audio and display aspects of the car. Because it was a small airport the car was nearby and we were out of the airport in under a minute. I would have given a better rating but the two employees were just not ready or trained for our rental and confused the process causing a long delay before we finally got on our way. read more

We just tried to rent a car for our 10 day road trip. We were given a confirmation via email when we reserved a vehicle weeks in advance and clearly on the email it states that you can use a debit card. When we arrived, we were told that we needed a major credit card and there was no possible way we'd be able to rent without one. We asked why that wasn't included on our confirmation and were told "It does, it's just smaller lettering" Im just curious as to where that would be because this is what my confirmation states. This totally thee off our trip that we've had planned for months. I will never use this company again unless something can be done to fix this. It's absolutely ridiculous and a huge waste of time, driving, and money. read more

Enterprise Rent-A-Car - Car Rental Near Me - Rapid City, South Dakota

I've been a regular Enterprise renter for the past decade or so. I've never run into such issues as I have with this particular franchisee. Planning a trip to Yellowstone and all of my flights were moved/cancelled. So, our plans changed that we had to fly to Rapid city - now we are taking in Mt. Rushmore, Deadwood, Sturgis, etc I have a corporate perk to get a discounted rental, so I used it. My rental was to start in Rapid City and end one way in Billings, MT. I was quoted $370 for 6 days. Not horrible considering the one way fee...or so I thought. I checked on the local office to make sure they had the correct time for our flight when I'm told that I will be paying $0.30 per mile. Are you friggin' kidding me? Yellowstone is lots of driving. For those five days, maybe 1000-1500 miles. That's some serious money $300-500 extra. This fee was NOT shown when I made the rental. Not sure if that is Enterprise corporate's fault or the local yocals. So, I called Enterprise to change to a one day, one way rental and suddenly, the car was unavailable. How does that work? The corporate office could NOT change the rental. They sent a message to the local office to have them change it and call me. It is nearly 24 hours later and no call. Completely rude and awful customer service. I truly hope this is not indicative of the Rapid City area as a whole. Anyway, this is one of the few Enterprise franchisees left. They give Enterprise a bad name. I suggest Enterprise buy them out as quickly as possible. Force their hand. They should not be a franchisee. They are an embarrassment. read more

Also when we had problems with the satellite radio, he went the extra mile and provided excellent customer service. His warmth and professionalism helped make our vacation extra memorable. read more

I love enterprise car rentals, I use them when ever I can, This experience was good as usual we did not fly into the airport but we walked right up to the counter and we had the keys in our had for a Jeep Renegade in under 10 Min, the agent was really quick and helpful. The car was clean and nice and upon our return the agent who took it back in gave us a coupon for 10% off our next rental at any location. The only knock was the price, compared to what was quoted to what we paid was quite a disparity. If you have to rent a car in the Rapid City area go with Enterprise. read more

Overall experience was not up to normal, expected and customary standards. The car rented was priced as promised but was dirty inside and trunk lighting was falling/hanging on electrical wires. Not discovered until several miles away at a B&B. Could not drive 4 door Impala with 4 adults as back seat felt like it was hitting the ground while driving. Mentioned to agent at check-in 6/11/14 8 AM. He was disinterested and complaining about his computer printer not working. Agent took all paperwork from me but did not return any as is normal. The worst part was that the agent was VERY rude during the drop off and subsequent conversations. Twenty minutes after drop off he called me and discussed two door dents (not seen by me at drop off). First on a voicemail message then in person. I asked the agent to come out and show the dent to me, as I could not see it. The dent looked like a boot print or luggage mark. The agent yelled at me two times across the parking lot in front of other Enterprise customers who seemed surprised by his demeanor and mentioned his poor behavior. He was very adamant and loud that I was "Going to pay for all the damage". Accidents happen all the time, no customer wants to be in that situation. That's why we have/buy insurance. It is a stressful situation and the agent's job is to be firm, informative and professional. There is no need to be rude, yell at a customer, act unprofessional and represent your company in a poor manner. I took pictures of the door and sent them to my insurance agent before my flight an hour later. read more

Check-in took a bit of time because two flights came in at the same time. Car was clean and well-maintained. The only thing to improve is that the clock should be set to the renting location's time; the Wisconsin-plated car was 1h30m off. read more

The absolute worst experience ever. Made a reservation 5 weeks in advance. Arrived 9/9/2020 to be informed by agent Zoey that our car was cancelled as we were a no show by the pick up time . She came to counter with keys in hand, and told us since we had no flight details on the reservation (a total lie-they were there) she cancelled the reservation and no cars were available for days. She was rude, uncaring and just incompetent. Costco, Enterprise both stated that they go by the flight details, not pick up times, and that is their standard practice. We were at the counter within 15 minutes of the flights arrival. So Zoeys actions caused us to fly 3000 round trip, 10 hours of flying in 36 hours, an overnight stay in the hotel, and Lyft fees. When we asked about getting to an overnight hotel, she told us to use the shuttle or Lyft. No customer service and the first time we have ever experienced such an awful experience. The car was obviously still there as she had the keys in hand, but refused our renting it. Thanks, Zoey. A regional manager did call and offered us a comp car for our hopeful visit in the spring. Maybe by then, this rude and unprofessional employee will have found a job that doesn't deal with customers, and maybe she has learned to read the flight details. read more

We just completed a vacation trip to the Black Hills area of South Dakota. We reserved our car through Travelocity at the same time we booked our flights. Compared to the other available rental car companies, the all inclusive price was very competitive. Payment was made in advance. When we arrived to pick up the car (a Wednesday morning), no cars were yet ready. We waited a bit more than 30 minutes after signing to rental agreement to pick up our car. Other than a couple items of trash left behind, the car was great! We had no issues with the car during the week we used it. An idiot light requesting maintenance (at 5000 miles on the odometer, most likely the computer was looking for an oil change) did come on but was easily turned off. The airport provides good directions to the rental car return area, but there is no information about what to do once you get there! Return was easy once we went inside. Thanks so much! read more

Initially there was not a vehicle ready at our arrival time. We were comped a tank of gas and our wait time was relatively short. We were kept informed while we waited. We were offered a much larger vehicle at a lower rate with free gas but this did not meet our needs. The agent was very well trained and excellent in customer service, we returned to the same agent, again all went smoothly. Our vehicle was excellent, clean and very well equipped. I could have used a driver to teach me how to use all of the amenities!! Would love to buy that vehicle from Enterprise if I could figure out how to do it - we fell in love! read more

We had to amend our vehicle and date reservation on May 7th. The staff at the Alamo rental site was most accommodating to our request. The amount was quite reasonable and the new rental was excellent for our trip. In addition when we arrived at the Salt Lake City Alamo rentalsite they had stated that we had a small dent on the fender. I immediately called back the Rapid City site and they confirmed that the dent was already on the car and they would confirm that to the Alamo office. I was greatly relieved. This was the best experience renting a car I have ever had. My flight arrived at 11 PM and they helped me get my car quickly. They offered am upgrade at a minimal fee as well. My flight out left at 6:30 AM and they had a drop box check-in which was easy and quick. They even offered me suggestions on arriving early in the AM at the airport. We will travel to Rapid City every year and we will definitely rent from them every year. I have use Enterprise in the past and had good service but this service was great. They are highly recommended by us. read more

The first night when we arrived we had no trouble and had a lovely car with easy out. Although I find it strange that they give you a piece of paper to initial about damage before you even go to your car and then no one comes to the car to check out the car. We were on a one way rental so wanted that documented since we weren't coming back (or so we thought). At noon the next day about 15 hours into our trip and hours from Rapid City, the rental the car just stopped...lost power, engine everything....that's when the fun started. We were stuck on the side of the road out past Mount Rushmore and we called the rental car place....got a "so sorry too bad" call this 800 number. We called and she was like do you want to drive back to the airport or have someone tow you back. Tried to say again. Car isn't running. It is very warm and we got a snotty "well it can take awhile". And the only option was to go back to the airport!!! the "pick you up people" don't bring you a new car...well they will but she said that might take about 5 hours.... So we had her call a tow. We ended up calling back in a second time to ch Cj on progress and the second agent at the 800 number was wonderful. The tow guy was great. After about an hour he got there and we had to go all the way back to the airport....I learned from the driver that Hertz will bring your car to you...it was 94 degrees outside....and when we arrived there were 3 people at the counter and no customers in the area...I had to ask for water....I have been sitting by the side of the road for awhile now....then the agent acted we were lying...."can't believe it just stopped", "huh I can't believe that happened it is a new car"....it's my vacation I would not waste a day driving back to the airport just for fun...No apology.. nothing and they weren't going to upgrade us at all... So I insisted on that ...And hey Enterprise you charged me for that day!!!! I lost 4 hours in the process had to back track an hour after sitting an hour...and you charged me for that day.... This group working on Friday afternoon June 17th couldn't have cared less that we missed out on our climbing trip that day....I think when your car dies for no reason and you make people drive back to get the replacement there should be a bit of a refund for that day. read more

Easy and fast. Came in late at night, tiny airport. Rental car counters right next to baggage claim carousels. 1 employee handled 3 parties on our flight, pretty quickly with no glitches. We were pleasantly surprised that the car was so big. I want to say we asked for mid-sized and got a Ford Flex which resulted in us being able to cancel a second car that 3 other family members were going to rent later the same week. Ford Flex sat 7 with the back row flipped up (little leg room). Fine for sight seeing. Comfortably got 6 of us around. When folded down flat, the back row made the luggage area huge. Only tight day was when all 6 of us returned to airport with luggage. (sorry this turned into a car review). Point is, great value for my money. 10 times more value that I had earlier that week in Chicago. Oh yeah, Enterprise really pushes the extra insurance. But the guy in Rapid City, SD took no for an answer, whereas the guy in Chicago did not. I found the guy in Chicago creepy and hard to understand, and I just said yes to insurance to get it over with. Rapid City Enterprise was wonderful, agent knew my name before I spoke.
