This was the worst customer service I have ever received at a car rental business. I went to pick up my rental on July 13, 2026. There was only one employee helping customers and he was running around everywhere in the heat, so this is no reflection on him as he was very polite and apologetic, and it is clearly a management/understaffing issue. There were multiple customers in the waiting room, and the phone was ringing non-stop with no one to answer. Firstly, I had a reservation but still had to wait 45 minutes to actually receive my vehicle. The car was wet, so had been washed, but the windshield was still covered with dead bugs/bird poop. Inside of the car is very worn and old looking. I was informed that they had just filled the tire with air so the low tire pressure notification should go away, but it has not, and there is also a "routine maintenance required notification." The worst part is the car was given to me with NO GAS! So I had to go fill it right away. I have already contacted Enterprise customer service about this and they said to "please reach out to the roadside team to assist with the mechanical issues." But why should I have to take the time to do that when it was given to me like this? Warning all customers to stay away from this place at all costs!!! read more

Really bad Customer Service. I tried multiple times to get a hold of them before coming down to get some more information about returning a car that my insurance company had rented for us while our van was getting fixed. Nobody answered then it transferred me to another branch and nobody answered there. I get there and this late teen/early 20s guy is just sitting there doing nothing, on his phone. He was not friendly, then told me that he was going to charge me $250 for a cleaning fee for some cheerios and then accused me of having a dog in the car even though it's against the contract. I repeatedly tried to explain that I did not have a dog in the car, we do have a dog but that the dog hair gets carried over on our belongings and our clothes and came off in the car. We've got three young kids, live in shingle springs and had the van for 2 weeks. I'm renting a minivan and you're trying to charge me $250 to shop vac some Cheerios while copping an attitude & saying I'm lying about not having a dog in the car. Would not recommend this place at all, go anywhere else. read more

Maybe have a database of people that rent frequently so they dont have to randomly provide references and billing info that verifies your address. Provided everything but one of the billing refernces shows my wifes name so it wasnt accepted. Lost a customer at this branch. Felt like it was a game for the person behind the counter. read more

Horrible. I reserved a car for pick up at 1pm. I arrived at 2:30pm. The door was locked while the staff ate lunch. It was 110 degrees outside so I sat for 15 minutes for the staff to finally open the door. The staff proceeds to tell me Since I wasn't there right at 1 they rented my car to someone else, had no other cars available, didn't contact me. What the heck happened!!!??? This was the WORST experience!!! I ordered the car for 10:30. When I got there the car was not there!! A driver had gone to Placerville to pick it up. I had meetings that day and I missed the first one because of this. Why wasn't the car there waiting? The car was NOT cleaned before I was given the keys. You advertise that this is of extreme importance to you yet it was not done. I signed off on some papers but was not given a copy. This was only the second time I rented a car from your company. I was not told there was a one way drop off fee. I was charged 96.00 when it was supposed to be 59.00. This was a bad experience. A guy from the shop next door came over to see if I was ok because he saw how upset I was because I was missing my meetings because the car was not there at 10:30 as requested. I reserved a full size car with SiriusXM radio two months prior to needing the car on June 9, 2021 for noon until June 16th. A month later, I went to their office and spoke with the male attendant. I asked if I could have my reservation changed to 9:30am, the same date and bring the car back on June 17th. I was told no problem. I also made sure the attendant understood that I wanted a full size car with SiriusXM radio. He confirmed the request and typed on the computer. At 8am, on June 9th, they called me to say they only had a VW Jetta without SiriusXM. I told him that a VW Jetta was not a full size car and I specifically requested SiriusXM radio. They told me the attendant did not record the request. For your own good, NEVER reserve a car with this agency. read more

9/5/2022 Enterprise rent a car made an appointment for us to pick up a car on Labor Day 9/5/2022 at the Shingle Springs office. We arrived at 8 o'clock in the morning and a sign on the door said they were closed for the day. 9/6/2022. I had an AM doctor's appointment on Tuesday 9/6/2022. We arrived at enterprise Shingle Springs at 2 PM and walked into the office. There were two enterprise employees sitting in chairs. We informed the man behind the desk who we were. They informed us that the car appointment they have is for 9 o'clock this morning. I informed them the appointment was made for yesterday The man behind the desk informed us they needed to wash the car. I stated the appointment you say is for 9 AM today I said there was an appointment made for yesterday and no one informed us Enterprise Rent a car was closed yesterday. I also stated You inform us that the car pick up was for 9 o'clock this morning and it is 2 PM. The enterprise employee then said the car is not ready. We had to leave without a car again. The WORST people and service I have ever received in my LIFE! March 15, 2021 11:10 AM I rent through Enterprise Rental Car all the time through my Costco travel account. I reserved a car to drive from Shingle Springs to the Sacramento Airport about an hour drive. I did not want my 89 year old father making a 2 hour drive so I had a car reserved....... I showed up at 11:10AM for my car (they open at 7:30AM) they did not have a car ready for me, the young man called someone. I was informed they would be driving to Placerville to get a car for me. I told him, "I am going to the airport, I don't have time to wait an hour for a car." He told me that I could drive to Placerville to get a car at their Placerville location. That still made no sense to me. I told him that I rented a car, and the car should be ready, they had all morning to get it here. Then he gave me all the excuses about how his morning went. I told him that is not my problem. Then, "LUCAS" Told ME to LEAVE!! I hope this helps you in choosing Shingle Springs Enterprise Rental Car!! My mom just had to rent a truck from these guys after her truck was in an accident and in the shop. Jameson helped her and was completely rude to her about her needing to have a truck with snow tires on it. Not that it is any of his business why she needs it but due to having a grandchild in Reno on the way and it tends to snow over the mountains she did not want to be stranded and not make it to Reno. His attitude was very unprofessional through the whole experience of using the truck even upon the return of it. I strongly recommend using anyone else if you have the choice! read more

This enterprise is a little small and feels understaffed especially when it gets a little busy. Walter, the assnt manager I believe, was very helpful. He is patient and made sure everything is trim and proper. After returning the rental to him, I needed it again and one of the drivers took me back to the branch and I was driving away within minutes. Pros: friendly staff(drivers and managers), close to the collision center I take my car to, quick service despite being busy and "understaffed" Cons: I got a 2014 dodge avenger with only 15000miles on it. The car vibrates at highway speeds and is poorly maintained. Steering wheel would also jerk on some pavement. Feel unsafe at times Conclusion: I probably would not return due to the poor maintenance of the car, but the branch itself is nice and close for the shingle springs community and body shop. read more

We booked a rental (small SUV) for the last week of October for the annual trip my sister and I make to our Dad's in Oregon. The car we were supposed to take needed to be cleaned, so we told the assistant we'd run some errands we needed to do and would be back. Maybe an hour later we arrive again, and although the car was washed, they didn't clean the spill very well in the back seat. The manager (Jamieson) came out, took one look and immediately upgraded us to a larger SUV at no additional cost. Yes, the original vehicle should have been ready for us.... but we were very appreciative that Jamieson quickly remedied the issue. The vehicle he put us in ended up making it the best trip we've made, to date. It was the most comfy ride and we had tons more energy at the end of the 7-hr drive than we usually do. read more

Probably top 10 worst customer experiences in my life. I reserved a car online and went in to pick it up with a friend visiting from out of town. The bald guy behind the counter who I think just had bought lunch was not thrilled to see us walk in. Dude just stares at us. After 10 seconds I awkwardly say "hi" - I explain the situation he says he doesn't have our reservation and then just stares at us. My friend and I are looking at each other like is this guy for real? I was like "okay man well I guess we'll go somewhere else" as we walk out he's like "maybe I can try to find you in the system" so I give the guy my name and he says the reservation is for tomorrow and he doesn't have any cars. That was it - I just shook my head and left. Went to Enterprise in Folsom and the crew down there couldn't have been nicer. That's what I get for trying to keep my money local : ) read more

Before I even get started let me just say, don't use this enterprise. I suggest the Hertz across the way. This started over a week ago when I dropped my car off at the body shop in town the first time. I was picked up by enterprise but when we got into the office the lady helping me said I did not have a reservation. I found that odd since both the insurance company and the body shop both said I did. Oh well no big deal let's set up a new one. She got to the end and said I would have to pay out of pocket for the car. Absolutely not. So she tried calling the insurance company and they did not answer. So after waiting around for an hour, while trying to get to work on time I might add, she tells me my only option is to pay. Well that wasn't going to happen so I have them take me back to the body shop and requested the manager call me. Several hours later after setting up a new reservation through the insurance company I had to call enterprise and ask to speak to the manager. After speaking with him about what happens he informs me that the woman who was helping me told him that it wasn't a case of not having my reservation she told him I refused the car they offered me, which is absolutely ridiculous I would have left in a uhaul truck at that point if it meant I would have made it to work on time. While on the phone with him I personally confirmed my new reservation and my pick up time of 8am. Today I showed up to the body shop at 7:40 to drop my car off and the man at the desk called enterprise who told him they would be there in 10 minutes. 8:20 roles around and after calling 4 times with no answer the car finally shows up to pick me up. We get over to the office and I am informed that the car I'm supposed to take isn't ready. It needs to be washed and vacuumed. I am so beyond frustrated with these people. I do not have time to wait for this car to be washed and cleaned. It should have been ready for me for my reservation. So in order to not be horribly late to work a second time because of these people I declined having the car cleaned. I had to clean to previous renters trash out before taking it. I have never had a more frustrating experience before especially after having the company make such a horrible impression the first time. No intention of trying to make it better or to right their wrong. read more

Jamison and staff are very nice and accommodating. I had the weekend special and had to bring it back due to a undercarriage problem. The Ford Focus was a compact car and fine if using for simple travel but uncomfortable for long distance driving. I could feel every bump on road, it was a very noisy ride and it was difficult to learn the dashboard technology especially not having any manuals. Not user friendly as the staff had a hard time helping with it as well. Aside from the negative experience with this car, the staff was very helpful with changing out the car for the next two days. I will rent again from this service center, and I would recommend it too. It's convenient and they pick you up at your home so you don't have to park your vehicle at the center. I came to get an extension on my car rental because my car has been in the shop and my insurance policy ended my car rental after a few weeks. I went to the Shingle Springs Enterprise and it is a really small place but was pleasantly surprised at how amazing the service was. I was helped by the manager, Gio Gutierrez , who had great customer service and made the process so much easier for me. He was very accommodating and worked with me on getting a good deal on an extension. I would come back to this location and recommend to others. read more

I have had several issues with my car over the past two years and almost every time I've called for a rental car they tell me they don't have any. Very frustrating. Regardless of what their TV ads say , they also will not come pick you up if you live outside the city limits. To make it even more difficult they are only open until noon on Saturdays, closed on Sundays and they have no where to drop off the car if you want to return it on the weekends. I have rented one time when they finally had a car for me and Walter, the manager, was very nice and helpful. My only positive experience. They also are understaffed and close at lunch time. They really need to up their service and car availability. read more

I was made wait for an hour and given the choice of two small cars .I could tell that the guy was focused on the bottom dollar he tried to up charge me cause I did not fit in a Nissan Versa . Rented a car from Enterprise in Shingle Springs through my insurance company. I reserved a sedan three days prior to pick-up. When we got to Enterprise they only had SUVs available. This was through auto insurance so I'm sure they only had SUVs because they cost a lot more. The SUV they gave me was filthy. It smelled bad, had animal hair inside, and the outside was so dirty I could barely see out the back window. We told them this was not acceptable. They said they would clean up a different SUV and asked us to come back. We came back and the SUV was also dirty inside and out but not as bad as the first one. They said they would get it cleaned and could we come back. We came back for the third time and it was decent. Will never rent from them again. read more

I had rented a car from the Sacramento Airport location and was returning it to the Shingle Springs location. While I am very displeased with the lack of disclosure and explanation of costs from the airport service, Jamieson was respectful, resourceful, and very helpful, and did everything within his power to serve.
