My family and I stopped by for dinner Saturday night at Wildfire at Tyson's corner. We were able to get a corner booth and really enjoyed the ambiance and the decor of the restaurant. It was mostly an older crowd dining around us. The dining area was still pretty full but not too loud. The music was contemporary classic and at an appropriate volume. Our waiter came a few minutes after we sat and took down our order when he stopped by. He didn't write anything down but amazingly got every single modification (my family is particular, me not so much) absolutely correct. That was my biggest takeaway as I thought he would have made an error somewhere. I enjoyed my crab cake sandwich and opted for broccoli as a side item. My cousin ordered the full rack of ribs and said they were fantastic. My other family members ordered a traditional salad and the other a plain chicken breast that had a side of mashed potatoes. Everything came out hot and at its preferred temperatures. The restaurant automatically brings cornbread which is flavorful and served warm in a basket for guests. That's a great way to start an delicious dinner if you ask me. The server was busy with other tables most of the night but was still super efficient and got us out at an appropriate timeframe. Some friends and I ended up at Wildfire as a last min dinner move after the restaurant that was originally chosen lost power. Service was great. Although our party was big (it was about 10 of us), we were seated pretty quickly. The restaurant was not very crowded. The food was just ok. We were served cornbread as the table bread. It was not bad but I was a little weirded out because there was corn in the cornbread. I personally ordered a bacon cheeseburger and lemon vinaigrette broccoli. The burger and broccoli were good. I hated the coleslaw. I tasted a little bit of everything everyone else ordered and the prime rib was probably the best thing. I didn't get to try the ribs but my friend said she enjoyed it. Some of the others at the table complained about their steaks being overcooked. Some of the sides were bland. Overall, while I liked my food, I was underwhelmed. Very nice place! Fancy setting and wonderful service. We came here for a business dinner with my team and everyone had a great time. This is one of our favorite restaurants to go to for birthday celebrations. It's not too stuffy and the staff are very nice! I love sitting on the side by the ramp towards the hostess stand. It's a lot more quieter and calmer. The main dining room is very loud if you want a lively party I was more into a romantic evening with my fiancé. We ended up getting the three course special, which really is a great deal. The Prime Rib is out of this world I like it lean and medium rare. The baked potato was stuffed and huge. My fiancé got the roasted vegetables. They were very pretty and colorful but not the kind I like if you like brussels sprouts and peppers and butternut squash they are for you. The desserts were phenomenal. Can't go wrong with Keylime pie chocolate cake, and our waiter was wonderful. Marcos was attentive very nice to bring a candle for my fiancé's birthday and helped us pack up all the food to bring home. Went for lunch a couple weekends ago and it was our first visit. It was pretty busy, but we were seated immediately without reservations. Our waiter was adequate. Didn't offer refills, we had to ask. The sides came out room temp, which was disappointing. The waiter didn't come by for about 10 minutes into our meal service so it wasn't worth sending anything back for reheating. Always go for the chopped salad-- pro tip if you order the large with dressing on the side you have enough for lunch the next day! Tried the coconut shrimp and au gratin potatoes for the first time and it's safe to say they will now be added into my wildfire rotation. Not much that I can say. It was what I expected. This is not a criticisim. 3.5 stars to be accure, which means fine. - not bad, not good. The menu is fairly basic, but if you steak and chops you will find something to eat. They also have some fish and chicken options as well. We split a calamari. One of us had the New York Strip and the other Prime Rib. It was fine and prepared as requested. Servings are generous. Nothing to pick at or pick on. Nothing to particularly praise either. For us, service was very attentive. The dining room looks a little worn in places, but transmits a steakhouse/ clubby feel. All in we shared an appetizer, two glasses of wine, two entrées, and one extra order of vegetables as a shared side order in addition to one side order included with each entrée. All in, including the tax and about a 25% tip for the server's attentiveness, it was $204. Not bad for the quality/ quantity of food. The food just didnt break past OK, but the service and overall price were fine, so leans in more to 3.5 stars to be fair. My experience this visit was mostly disappointing. The Greek salad was good. Not the worst filet I have had in the past few months but certainly not among the best. It was cooked medium rare exactly as ordered but was not very tender. Service was courteous but slow, although my filet arrived while I only about 1/3 finished with my salad. It seemed like the steak was fired the same time the order went in despite having an appetizer. I wish I was offered the dessert menu as quickly after I finished my steak. After the steak was dropped, I didn't see my server for a long time. The roasted vegetables side dish was good. I was seated in the bar area. The ambience here was not as nice as previous visits when I was in the other half of the restaurant. The bar area is pretty noisy. A surprising disappointment was to discover that Lettuce Eats points are not redeemable on Saturdays after the 3pm. Had I known, I would have eaten elsewhere. However, our friend had Rewards card which to her chagrin she could not utilize. My first visit to Wildfire. I was there for a private event. We had a nice fixed menu for lunch. We had a lite breakfast with oatmeal, fresh fruit and cornbread. The service was excellent. Came by for some drinks and light snacks post Christmas shopping. Compared to some of the other dining establishments, this spot was relatively quiet. We sat at a high top and ordered some drinks. My boyfriend's beer came out pretty flat, and the cocktails were truly pretty terrible. The Rougue French 75 was way too sweet, and did not taste like fresh strawberries. I also tried the pomegranate martini, and it was so artificial and sweet, it tasted like a jolly rancher. I wound up sending it back and just getting Prosecco (and I never do that!). I also nibbled at the complementary corn bread. I don't know what it was, possibly something in the cocktails, but later that night I had some of the worst food poisoning I've ever experienced. My boyfriend and I shared everything we ate prior to Wildfire, and he wasn't sick, so I know it was something at this establishment that made me sick. It was truly so terrible, I was sick all night. 3 stars for sneaking in a 3% charge onto the bill. Almost missed it, as I'm sure is intended. Finally saw at the bottom of the page you can ask for that fee to be removed, I did. It's not a lot of money, but it's because they want customers to pay for increased costs. The added fee does not go to your server. If the restaurant has increased costs, they should update their menus, don't sneak in a surcharge. I know that means they have to update their menus, but these days you don't even have to have a hard copy menu. To be cliché-- it really left a bad taste in my mouth. Bad move. When the server first came, he put down some yummy cornbread. Nice touch. My server was great. My turkey sandwich was delicious. It even had cucumbers in it: I love that. It came with a side of coleslaw that I didn't expect and I could pick a different side if I didn't want french fries - - I got a baked sweet potato that was delicious. To get back to the added 3% fee, with Fairfax County passing an additional 4% food tax on eating out beginning in 2026 (for a total of 10%), the restaurant's added 3% is going to really add up. People are really going to think twice now about going out to eat; food and service are going to have to be impeccable. read more

My friend and I came here for restaurant week, because we love using restaurant week to try different steak places. I didn't realize when we picked it that it is located at the Galleria on the 3rd level. The inside of the restaurant is dark, moody, and feels like an upscale steak place. They gave us a large booth to sit at which was kind of awkward for two people. The service was okay, but parts of it were really slow. The servers were way more focused on the large group of teenagers by us. For the table, they give you a basket of cornbread. It was very good, though they put a bit too much corn in it. I got the berry cherry mojito for the drink, the flavor was refreshing and not too minty. For my appetizer, I got the shrimp and and crab bisque. The bisque was delicious and creamy, and it didn't have any shells. I got the petite filet mignon for my entree. The steak was cooked really well. I didn't get a crust but they are apparently known for their crusts. I wish I got one it would have added some excitement to my entree, the steak was missing a little flavor. We went to Wildfire for a friend's 40th birthday. It's a decent steakhouse, but nothing memorable. Started with drinks at the bar; a martini and old fashioned. Both were ok but not great. Ordered calamari as well, which was delicious, fresh, and hot! It was a little weird that the host stand was on the opposite end of the restaurant from the front door. The steak isn't cut into strips, but it was so tender I didn't have to fight to eat it. Salad size small feeds 2 people, while a large feeds 3-5. I keep coming back to Wildfire because I enjoy their food, but the service is really hit and miss. Last Sunday (5/4) it was really a miss. I had a reservation for 1pm for brunch and arrived on time. We were seated in a booth and a staff member came over promptly and poured us water and brought us cornbread. More than a few minutes later a server came by and asked "are you still doing alright?" as if we had spoken to her previously. I wondered to my companion if she thought we were still her last table or if she knew we were her section.... this was a red flag. We ordered cocktails that were delicious (espresso martini and sparkling pomegranate martini) and then brunch entrees. My friend substituted the breakfast potatoes in her Classic Breakfast with au gratin ones. And then we waited. We had a great view of the kitchen so we saw my Eggs Benedict come up and then her Classic Breakfast. And then we waited. We watched the food runner go over to try to ask her a question, but she ignored him. Literally turned her body so he wasn't in her eye line. And then we waited some more. Turns out, she had rung in the order as the au gratin potatoes were a sub for the eggs. So my friend got breakfast potatoes and au gratin potatoes. They were also out of toast, which no one told us, so it came out with an English muffin. When her plate came we literally thought it was brought to the wrong table. Long story short (too late?) the server didn't apologize. The manager re-fired the entree, but did the eggs wrong, and I finished my entree before my friend had anything to eat. Wildfire is located inside of Tysons 2. Menus were brought out by our server and I have to say I love that kids get a mini menu to select their meal from. It wasn't a printed piece of paper like most places, it had a menu cover and everything. I loved the detail and the kids loved it as well, this is a very family friendly restaurant. I ordered the Lump Crab Cake Sandwich that comes with a side of fries and coleslaw. The sandwich was very filling, the crab cake was filled with crab meat and minimal other fillings. I usually go to Wildfire for drinks after shopping or just as a meeting point since I live right by galleria. I have had about 4-5 actual meals here and they were all fine. Their cornbread is what really hits home but I wouldn't say their steak is great by any stretch of the imagination. Their crab cakes have the usual amount filler you'll find at most restaurants (but a bit better in quality- as it should be considering they're on the higher end of pricing). Their chop house salad is great- lightly seasoned with a citrus dressing with lots of fresh ingredients like corn, avocado, tomatoes, etc. just make sure you keep in mind that the size is HUGE. The regular one takes up half a high top table so it's definitely a filling meal. Last time, service was absolute garbage. I had to actually physically walk around to find our waiter bc he didn't ask how we wanted the steak cooked. Anyway, it's one of the only options for eating at galleria that's not more or less the lower end crap like Cheesecake Factory, PF Chiang's or maggianos.
