Being new to the area, I wasn't aware of the tick problem out here, but when I discovered last night that my cat had been bringing ticks into the house by the dozen, I was pretty grossed out. I found Environmental Termite and Pest Control through an online HomeAdvisor request, and the company called me first thing this morning to offer their services. Out of three companies that called with a quote for indoor fumigation and outdoor spraying, they were the least expensive and the only one willing to rearrange their schedule to come out this afternoon. When the tech got here, he was professional and friendly and offered what I felt to be an honest assessment. He treated the house right away, rather than scheduling an appointment to come back later, and called me to notify me when he was done. The price was very reasonable, and despite the fact that I have a very large house, they did not increase the price over what was quoted over the phone. The service is guaranteed for a month, and they offered to come back out for free if I notice more bugs in a few days. I would highly recommend this company to anyone. read more

I feel ripped off and like I overpaid--the classic case of a salesperson overpromising and the workers underdelivering. There is nothing wrong with the people personally; they are all friendly, responsive, and nice. But I am 100% regretting my choice to pay about $1,000 more to go with Environmental Pest Control when the other contractor said he would handle it himself and cover all four gable vents for a fraction of the price! The other company's estimate wasn't from a salesperson, but the actual technician who had stated he successfully worked on a neighbor's house three years ago. The reason I paid a premium and chose Environmental Pest Control was because of everything Patrick McKinney stated they would do, and he seemed vastly more knowledgeable than the other guys. He told me they would cover all 4 gable vents, cover the hole below the stove and the outside exterior, vac and disinfect the attics (which will be done in a future appointment, but now I'm doubting if it will be professionally completed from what I've seen so far), and do a pest control spray while cleaning up the webs. The first visit, a pleasant crew came out to cover the gable vents; they ended up covering 3 of the 4. They stated one was in a position they could not reach, took some pictures, and said they would discuss it with their manager. They also looked at the vent hole below the stove and said it was too big of a hole, so they couldn't cover that either. They ended up covering 3 of the 4 gable vents, setting mouse traps, doing a loop around the outside to cover any holes, and spraying insecticide (we also signed up for their quarterly pest control treatment). A few days went by and they charged our credit card. I called and asked why they charged us when they didn't even complete the job, and they said it's their process to charge half before they begin, and half once they complete the job. I reminded them the job was not complete as they didn't even cover up the last gable vent, and didn't shop-vac nor disinfect the two attics (one above the garage and the other above the home). Either way, fine, I'm going to pay them anyways and as long as they get the job done, I would be fine with it. They told me my case was being escalated to a manager. The project manager called me and told me he would look into my issues, assuring me the team will come back and take care of it by covering up the last gable vent. Since it was in a difficult-to-reach area, he said they would cover it from the inside. I told him I already had all four gable vents covered from the inside and we needed the OUTSIDE covered. He stated his team couldn't reach the outside and they would have to do it from the inside. What is the point of this? The inside of all 4 gable vents are already screened and we need the outside covered to prevent the bats from coming in. The lone bat was living in between the inside screen and the gable vent. He didn't want to listen and said they would send somebody out Tuesday to cover up the gable vent from the inside. I didn't know what else to say, and just agreed since he didn't seem to want to listen or address the issue. The same two folks arrived a week later and again stated they couldn't reach the gable vent. They climbed up into the attic and said they couldn't reach it from the inside since the previous owner seems to have walled off that small area from the inside with styrofoam. They did some surveying, walked around, said they couldn't do anything about it, and took pictures, stating they'll send them to their manager again. Friendly folks, but I was just disappointed that nothing was done on another visit I had to take off from work for. I have paid a premium price for a half-finished job. I still have an uncovered gable vent, a bat issue that hasn't actually been resolved, an unaddressed stove vent hole, lots of bugs on the exterior of our home with unaddressed webs, and an endless feeling of regret and disappointment. If you are looking for a pest control company that actually delivers on what their sales team promises, look elsewhere. I am still waiting for management to contact me with a real solution to covering up the last gable vent, or at least offer a partial refund. At this point, I would rather get a refund and look elsewhere. I have wasted too much time away from work, on top of the mental stress of worrying about the last gable vent for bats, wondering if the mice issue will actually be addressed, or if the pest/bug spray has actually done anything. This can't be the most difficult gable vent location these professionals have ever come across. I could be wrong, but I'm curious to hear others' opinions. read more

I'm in MD, but I think they are based in VA. No idea why it says I am in CA. I definitely do not recommend for squirrels. We had squirrels in our screened in deck, and thought they could be in the attic. The guy came out, used a ladder to climb up in the attic, inspected, and found no evidence of infestation. He did, however, find an area where wildlife could possibly get in. He recommended a total attic seal up, which comes with a warranty. I paid half that day, and half when they arrived to help. I showed them where the squirrels were getting into the screened in deck. You could see where they had chewed through the wood. The guys put up a trap that squirrels could get out, but couldn't get in. In a few days, I saw them running around the deck again. I called, and we could see where they had chewed or scratched a new hole. They put a heavy duty screening over the hole. They also sprayed with Pest Away, a safe for people and pets spray. It smells nasty, and can be bought on Amazon. Squirrels came back. Pretty sure they had babies. We now have yet another area of the deck, and screening that needs to be repaired. Today I called a different company which will set traps to catch the squirrels. They will then relocate them to a park far away from our home. That is what needed to happen in the first place. Environmental should have known that. The website says squirrel removal, but that isn't really what happens. We have now paid around $1600 for a one way trap that didn't help and an attic seal up we probably didn't need. Also, they did not go into the attic to do this. (I asked, and they said they can do it from the outside.) Now it will be $675 for another company to trap and re-home the squirrels, and disinfect where they were. Then it will be another $1500 or so to fix the damage done to our deck. If you have squirrels, save your money, and call a trapper that re-homes these pests. read more

I called for bedbug problem not sure if it was infestation or not so they charge me $150 for someone to come out and tell me "well if you know you have bed bugs then I do not need to look" he stood in my doorway and proceeded to tell me I needed to pay $999 for whole place or $500 for 1 room. Do not hire this company. They are terrible and I don't recommend them to anyone. We had a yellow jacket nest in the attic under the insulation. I explained that the nest needed to be killed asap; otherwise the ceiling would get soft and the bees would come into the house. It took 3 weeks of me calling over and over and 3 service visits to finally kill the bees. The ceiling did get soft and I had to cover the area with plastic and cardboard. The 3rd tech finally put on a bee suit and went in the attic and killed them but I was left with a $500 bill from this company and a giant hole in the ceiling which cost $500 to fix. read more

Very dishonest manager. The inspector Tyler was pretty good in explaining the details. So we signed contract with Environmental to do termite prevention using Fipronil 9.1% (high-end product), but they used the much cheaper product Dominion 2L which can not last that long as Fipronil. We figured it out and contacted the company. A manager called later and tried to "teach" us that the two products are the same. I reminded him the contract details then he promised to find a solution for us. Well, he never called again. Avoid this company. read more

Environmental Pest Control is a total waste of time and money. They rarely showed up when they said would and after a few appointments in a row, including "make ups" for missed appointments, I got rid of these folks. I'm not talking about missing a 2 hour window by minutes or hours. They simply didn't show up the entire day. I took time off work to be home to let them in and they never called, never showed up. When I called, the person on the phone was friendly and rescheduled... But not showing up at all was a non-starter. I also mentioned I had seen wasps or something similar going under the eves and possibly into the attic. The guy, who had actually showed up that time, said he couldn't go wandering around the attic to see if we had an issue, I had to point out to him exactly where they were entering the house. If that's not a service they can provide, then another good reason to drop them. After firing them, I finally got a very nice call from management asking if there was anything they could do to win my business back. If mice are you issue, search amazon for the following and drop EPC immediately. Did a great job for us at Hamilton volunteer fire department banquet hall getting rid of a fruit fly issue

I wish I could give zero stars. I paid $800 and change for a season of treatment to rid our mole and vole yard infestation. I was clear I wanted them eradicated. After three months when the infestation moved outside the area being treated was I told they don't "kill" the treatment encourages them to move to other areas, except they relocated to an untreated area but still my yard. After six months the infestation was worse despite the treatment and now 12 months later what was a treatment area of a 1,000 square feet is an infested area of the majority of the lawn. While the company did come back out with free inspections and treatments, they were 100% ineffective and only seemed to make the problem worse. The only possible issue they could come up with is that I must not have been watering the treatment area as directed. They never offered to refund their fees despite months of my complaints and this season, even if they offered to pay me, I will refuse to allow them to service my yard for anything. A total and complete lack of results. read more

Let's hope no one ends up in the hospital or worse after using them. I've had a consistent issue with rodenticide literally pouring out of what should be highly contained bait boxes. Photos attached. Twice in a row poison has spilled and spread all over my property, posing a significant danger to children, pets and wildlife. Two of the bait boxes have experienced this issue. The kicker is when I contacted the office, panicked that poison was literally being blown all over the place, they downplayed the danger and told me just to hose it down. They then told me no one would be in the area for a week to address it so I would have to wait until it was convenient for them to address this hazard. It took hours of my calling and messaging saying this was unacceptable until I could get service faster on a day that was convenient for me. The tech came, simply refilled the bait boxes without investigating the cause (said maybe moisture got in and caused the bait to melt... mind you these are supposed to be all-weather outdoor containers designed to ensure no leakage, per EPA standards) and left. Not two days later bright pink poison was again all over the property instead of being safely encapsulated within the container. Meanwhile guess what... I still have mice inside the home. And because they use sticky traps (which the EPA actively discourages as it causes panicked mice to urinate and defecate, posing exacerbated contamination) and indoor bait boxes, I'll be luckily if there aren't dead rodents in my walls. I should have pulled the contract after the first visit when sticky traps were used for an indoor mouse problem. These traps did nothing except serve as a toilet for the mice. Everyday new droppings appeared but no caught mice. Finally I purchased my own snap traps (keep in mind, I just paid for a professional service and then had to solve the problem myself at additional expense) and within four days caught upwards of 7 mice. When I asked the tech why sticky traps were used he said 'yes snap traps are the gold standard but we don't always have them.' Ummm you are a professional exterminator and you don't come prepared to address a rodent problem with the right traps?!?! On top of all this their office is absolute garbage and just arbitrarily schedules service without coordinating with customer availability. You just get an email two days prior saying there's service scheduled-- no timeframe, prior contact, just hey hope you're home all day in the next 48 hours because that's when is convenient for us. If you try to reschedule, as you never actually made the appointment or got any heads up about it, it'll be at least another week or two until they're willing to show up. read more

This review may not be fair towards this company. They deserve 5 stars for the quality of their work. I hate when companies schedule visits to come to my house without my permission. For 2 years I've been dealing with this issue. I have explained to the the reasons why I am not ok with it. It was understood in the past. Now it's not. Tommy, the owner has accommodated me in the past, now things have changed in their office. I was told it's too much work to call and schedule visits with their customers. I'm sure this gem of a comment was a slip up. I repeat the company does good work and I give them 5 stars on that. Hired them to get rid of some squirrels in the attic. also pest control service. they made several squirrel visits but gave one excuse after another--too cold, can't get on the roof , etc. This went on for a year and they finally stopped returning my calls. we got another company and found out that in addition to squirrels in the attic, we had snakes, mice and lots of bugs for them to eat. it cost is $17,000 tofux the damage. when I tried to cancel the service, they wanted a cancellation fee. They will be getting a letter from my attorney instead. read more

This company is terrible. I originally contracted with them to mitigate mice in the attic. The services worked but their personnel was inconsistent. The first 2 trips was a very professional guy, the third trip was a guy who had nothing but bad things to say about the company and area manager, and the last trip was a nice enough guy. The mice were dealt with within the first 2 trips and as spring came along, we had insect issues. The product works briefly and then slowly, everything started getting worse and worse and they don't provide any resolutions. I had to go to the store and purchase my own remedies and traps. I then asked to cancel when I called and the lady told me I had a warranty before my contract expired and to do that prior to canceling. I asked to have them cancel future payments anyways. I later get another charge and knock on my door. I told him that I had canceled and he said ok and walked away without performing any services. I contact the company and they said my policy had now renewed annually. They continue to go back and forth with me over this, and said my phone canceling doesn't hold and it needed to be in writing. It is the most disgusting business practice in the book, the exact type of service that causes customers to not trust companies like this. I am legit making a serious effort so that everyone knows this company is scum with terrible product and worse people. UPDATE: The owner responded to my review for the Woodbridge location weeks ago but has not reached out to me or looked into my communications with his team. After they charged a deposit for half of the service it took 3 weeks of us hounding them to come and work on our issue. When they finally came to work, it turns out they left and didn't do anything. It wasn't until 2 weeks later when we called to share that the pest issue was persistent that they let us know that they in fact didn't do anything and forgot to let us know. After all the applications including a free application because nothing was working and payment in full to them my lawn is worse than ever. Requested pest control (rats running around outside at bird feeders) for my Arlington, Virginia residence. Environmental Pest Control sales guy came to my property, gave me his pitch. He heard me tell him that this is for duration of one month, nodded his head, then had me initial a slip of paper. Told me the receipt would be sent to me. The techs appeared days later & installed rat bait traps. Paid the first month despite zero results: rats still in evidence. Requested that techs restock the bait traps - - had to call Environmental Pest Control three times to get action on their part. Paid the second month. Results still not happening. This is where it gets intriguing. I called & emailed Environmental Pest Control multiple times to cancel the service. I finally got someone on the phone after multiple attempts. The rep for Environmental Pest Control Informed me that I had signed a one-year contract. Environmental Pest Control emailed me what they maintained was a long contract that I signed. I was stunned, and aghast; I do not enter into one-year contracts for any product or service. The document from Environmental Pest Control is a document that I had never seen before & it certainly wasn't my signature on their claimed 'contract' with me - - I can only conclude that Environmental Pest Control scurrilously installed my signature on their 'contract.' I called their main number to state my objections to their blatant falsehood. The phone rep, who claimed to be a Manager named Hannah, stated that there is a $157.00 "early termination fee" - - the first time that I had ever heard of this item. I informed 'Hannah' that I would not honor any further charges on my credit card nor would I pay their "early termination fee." Hannah rather happily stated that they are a big company with plenty of lawyers who will have collections go after me if I do not pay their invoices. This is a scam. A billing scam by Environmental Pest Control. To re-examine this debacle, I would never do business with Environmental Pest Control nor would I sign anything with this company; furthermore, I'd obtain other quotes from reputable companies. The way in which Environmental Pest Control comports itself towards the customer is shameless & scurrilous. Onward & upward, but this has been one of the worst business experiences with a service vendor that I've ever endured. read more

Stay Away, this is another company with hard pushing sales team that fails to deliver or show up. They promise thorough cleanup and services but then provide a rush job that falls short of what was described. The initial inspection was free, but they no showed without reason then ghosted us. They explained that half of the payment was due upfront then half after completion, but billed the full amount prior to completion without authorization. I inquired about quarterly pest control services, and they sent Patrick out to my house a few days later to give me a quote. He raved about how great their technicians are, which is one of the reasons I wanted to switch from the old company we were using. I was excited to hire them. He left me a card & told me to call his mobile number if we decided to go ahead with scheduling. I called, left a message. No response for a week. I called the office line which rang and rang until I got a "your call is important to us" message. I waited for a bit and hung up when no one picked up. I email Patrick asking to proceed with services. No response for 2 weeks at which point I got an unprofessional email stating he'd just gotten back from vacation trying to catch up. I wondered if I should give him grace, but leaned toward going with someone else. I responded in less than 24 hours with the services I'd wanted hoping to give him another chance, but feeling extremely frustrated with the poor customer service I'd been receiving. It's been almost another week since then and I've heard nothing more. Wow. Really disappointed I'll have to continue my search because I've been recommended to this company by several people. To me, business is 80% how you treat your customers and 20% how well the job is done. I'll go with someone who values me as a customer over how great I've heard your work is. read more

To be blunt, I got scammed. Last August they came out to take care of a mouse infestation problem. The service was completed and I paid the fee via my credit card. I had used their services in the past and there was never a billing issue. A few days ago I received an email from them stating that I had a scheduled service coming up. What?? I contacted them and explained that I never signed up for scheduled service and didn't need it. They stated that they would be happy to cancel it as long as I paid a $210 termination fee. So they charged me $210 for service that I will never receive, don't want, and don't need. They gleefully emailed me a document that I signed (I assumed that it was for service for that one day). It turns out to be four pages long. So beware of this scam. If you ever do business with them have a lawyer present before you sign anything. read more

I had a birds nest above a light fixture on a covered porch. I got an estimate within a couple of days of calling and service shortly after. Randy and another guy came by. He pulled out about 2 large garbage bags of nesting. Cleaned and disinfected the area and closed and sealed the light fixture so no more birds can get in. He also filled some other gaps close to my garage. Reasonable fee and took the time to give me tips on keeping birds away. Will use them again if needed. read more

I`ve been so disappointed with this service. I agree with other reviews that the customer service is inadequate. In addition, the treatments have always been disorganized. I have never had the same person come out for a treatment, they end up just rushing through the job without realizing where all the treatments need to be made to fix various rodent issues. The pest control and mosquito control are good, probably as good as you're going to find from any other company. But my five stars is primarily for the customer service and the technicians. Good technicians, bad customer service. I've been a warranty customer since 2015 & not sure why I continue to be when I have to keep asking them to come out again to do the quarterly treatment on the inside of my house as well as the outside (they're supposed to do both when they come but sometimes some just do the outside and leave without even knocking on my door to see if I'm home). I've liked a couple of the techs they've sent out - a lot...really good guys. All of their techs seem to have good personalities, kind, respectful, and most importantly: knowledgeable. However, the woman who answers the phone always - without fail - acts like I'm bothering her when I simply call to ask for an appointment or describe a pest issue I'm having; she sounds disinterested and never expresses gratitude...frankly, dealing with her is a nuisance and I wish she'd take a class on Customer Service 101. Earned One star because pretty much all of the insects I've witnessed in my home are dead by the time they make it in my home (they're dead at the baseboard, that's a good sign) - so whatever they're spraying seems to be working. Earned One star for their techs. Earned One star for being good at responding via email (Tommy seems at least nice and willing to provide good customer service). Two stars docked for the hassle of dealing with bad customer service time and time again from the woman who answers the phone and for not having more immediate availability for immediate issues (even though I'm a warranty customer). read more

Made an appointment a week prior. Waited during the two hour window appointment time and no show, no call. When I contacted them to find out the issue, I was then informed that they were no longer serving the area where I live. This was decided the day prior to my appointment or so I was told. At first I was satisfied with EPC, but then I read the fine print. I was told that the contract was for 12 months, not 12 service visits. I did not need them to come every month, my house is not surrounded by trees or have spiders and such coming in like my previous place. I am very upset that I was told one thing by the first guy that came and when I called to cancel, they tell me I signed up for something else. We called them after we noticed a baby snake in our finished basement. They came very quickly for an inspection. They're sales tactics are pushy and they took advantage of my fear of snakes and spiders. They scheduler on the phone was rude. I went with another local company that was helpful, kind, flexible with my schedule and not aggressive. Their price was also $100 less. Go with eco-pro!!! read more
