Clayton has a new gem of a restaurant in Clayton! We saw the advertisement on instagram and so glad we did. I set a reservation for 4 of us Friday night and we arrived to find a transformed corner of the block near where subway use to be located. Outside dining with heaters looked like something from another posh city dining experience and when we went inside the aesthetics were incredible. We were transported into a Latin dining experience right in downtown Clayton! The chef has developed an incredible menu and the customers have a view through a large array of windows showing how a high end kitchen is run! Reservation are recommended and you will not be disappointed from unique Latin inspired cocktails, tapas, and main dishes every sip and bite was an experience! Food is 5/5 all the way. First time I was here was during their soft opening and I've returned 4 other times now. Place is booming with awesome Latin food. Comparable to what's out there in Walnut Creek. I can honestly say Enye tops them by far. If you're looking for great food and a spirited live experience go here. The ambiance is fantastic. Great setting with a sophisticated yet welcoming atmosphere. The bar area is large enough to have a meal comfortably yet still offers the ability to make friends with the neighboring patrons. Drink selection is vast and many unique / top shelf options are available, great whistle pig old fashioned! The food has been good or great with not one miss and I've sampled many options. My favorites have been the churrasco steak, carnitas tacos, and empanadas. With food prices having skyrocketed it's a welcome feeling to get a great meal and enjoy a drink at a reasonable price. The service has been top notch. Staff is very welcoming and attentive while managing a fairly busy place, which is also not easy to find these days. What a pleasant surprise in Clayton. This place has only been open a month or so, and it was fairly busy. We were able to get reservation at 7:30 on a Saturday. If I were to guess, reservations are going to be a must very soon. Ambiance and vibe are great. They have an open kitchen which is takes it up a notch in my book. We got there a bit early and found a seat at the bar. Kudos to bartender Candelolrio (aka Candy) for accommodating my special drink request for a chocolate martini. He went to the kitchen and grabbed some chocolate syrup. They have amazing drinks. The food was amazing. It's meant to be shared and my wife, who is gluten free, has many options. We had the Mango Salad, Octopus, Pork Belly, and Skirt Steak. All were very flavorful. Looking forward to trying other dishes next time. The bill was about $100 not including the drink costs. Very reasonable for this level of food. The head chef, Mike Fischetti is well known in the Northern Cal scene and he didn't disappoint. The owner, Kent, worked the room like a champ and shared the history and concept. This was a very nice touch. We are looking forward to our next meal there and will plan on bring more folks so that we can sample more dishes. read more

If it is not the tasty food there, this restaurant may only be a 2 stars restaurant at the most (my opinion of course). There is a bar area inside the restaurant and the noise form there is unbearable, it is constantly 70+db in there, at the peak, it measures 77db...yes i measure it. You cannot hear anyone across the table without yelling. Also, only one urinal in the men's room for 100+ patrons? And a lot of them are drinking, it is like playing a joke to the customer. It is disappointing. However, the food is good. The pork mole is superb. The seafood paella is second to nothing. Will try again at the earlier time on weekdays, may be more pleasant to sit and enjoy the meal. read more

First, the food was terrific--great flavors and execution. Three of us had a half order of the meat paella, which was tasty and perfectly cooked. Is been a while since I tried a good paella with seafood, and this one did not disappointed me. Best paella I ever had. Service was excellent and the ambience is very nice. We finally got to try Enye this morning for brunch and they did not disappoint. I had Eggs Benedict, and they had a completely different play on the dish. The Hollandaise was citrusy and herbal which was very different than the traditional Hollandaise. Instead of using the traditional English muffin the base was a blue Masa cake with Carnitas. It was unique and super tasty! My wife had Chilaquiles which is one of my favorites and the red sauce was incredibly flavorful with a hint of heat. The food was uniquely different, and flavors were amazing. We will be back! read more

This is a beautiful new restaurant owned by the Ipsen family of Clayton. Its decor is warm, fun and inviting with a Latin vibe. You can sit indoors or outside on a festive flame lit veranda. Everything about the restaurant is well planned and impeccable. There is a full bar, comprehensive and amazing wine list and absolutely fantastic cuisine!! The dishes are Latin and flavorful with a wide variety to choose from and the deserts are fabulous! I highly recommend the flank steak and chocolate drizzled churros! I would give it 3.5 stars if I could. I had high expectations for this restaurant as it was recommended by some friends. However, Clayton is not a place where there is much to do once you eat, so it is a destination restaurant. We went with another couple and had a wonderful time. Our waiter was good, the atmosphere and vibe are great. The food was pretty good. Prices are fine. There are many choices with a wide range of options and prices. The thing I didn't like was the $50 deposit that is charged to your credit card at the time you make a reservation. 1 star off for that. Yes, charge me for a no show, but the issue is that I already paid $50, and even if it is taken off the bill, if the bill is split, then the party who made the reservation just contributed $50 to reducing the bill before it is split. This is not a fair practice and if the bill is split, the server should ask which party made the reservation and take the $50 off their portion. I really think they need to rethink the reservation deposit thing altogether. I would come back if they stopped this practice. Clayton is not close enough for me to risk not having a reservation, but we like to dine with friends. read more

Great restaurant! It's a lively spot with great staff! Service was quick and everyone did not miss a beat. We ordered a few tapas, papas brava, empanadas, pupusas and catch of the day tacos. All were prepared perfectly and the flavor was good. We had the fried ice cream for dessert and this was such a unique take on fried ice cream, 10/10. Tried this restaurant last night with my friends. We are very excited to have a fun, upscale restaurant in Clayton. The restaurant is beautiful. You can sit at the bar and watch sports or eat at a table. You can also see the chefs at work, which I think is pretty neat. There is also outside seating, but I don't think it is open at this time. It is a little loud inside, but I've eaten in louder restaurants. My friends had the red and white sangria. The red sangria was a hit. The white was okay, but the red would be ordered again. I had the "No Es Margarita". It was tasty. Was it worth $18? Not sure about that. I might just stick to my off menu usual. For tapas, we ordered the pulpa(octopus (2 thumbs up though I'd love to see them experiment with the sauce)), fish tacos (good, but no punch of flavor and a little light on the fish), barbacoa tacos(thumbs up), carnitas tacos (thumbs up) and chips w/different salsas(tasty!) We tried the churros for dessert and they were delicious. Our server was fantastic and we were greeted so kindly. I look forward to returning with my husband and perhaps on another occasion with the whole family. I really want to try more of the dishes! read more

First time trying this place and it was phenomenal! My bae and I went on Valentine's day and the atmosphere was amazing. We didn't wait long for a table because walk ins are welcome! That's definitely surprising for such a high class restaurant. The waiter Peter took great care of us and was very welcoming! The front of house manager Alyssa showed us the best hospitality and recommendations for food! The pork belly is a go to for sure! It was so good that we had to place another order to-go! Date night with my husband, our 3rd visit there, as we really enjoy the ambiance and food in our little town of Clayton. Unfortunately, we waited 15 minutes to be acknowledged after being seated.....Many other servers were standing around chatting, wouldn't make eye contact when walking by our table. I didn't want to ruin the evening by getting miffed, however, it was really hard to be so blatantly ignored, especially since previous visits all the staff was so welcoming. Did not get this vibe at all last night, felt like they could have had their colleague (Our server) or the customer in mind and addressed the situation, finally we learned there was a mix up on table assignments. Once our server came, our food was there quickly. He seemed super distracted, so we tipped well and chocked it up as a mis-communication. Fish tacos were amazing, chips and salsa were stale, pork mole dish was disappointing, too many fatty pieces and too spicy. Aperol Spritz was too sweet however Mexican gin and tonic, tasty and smooth. Previous visits all food and drink was delicious, I.e. house margarita, empanadas and octopus. read more

Four of us recently had dinner at Enye on a Friday night. The atmosphere, decor and service was great. This restaurant is good addition for this area. Adina, our server, was very attentive and pleasant. We each ordered a cocktail, I had the Cosmo del Diablo and it was perfect with just the right amount of spice, my husband had an old fashioned and he was quite pleased. The other 2 drinks were enjoyed by our friends. We ordered the Rock fish ceviche with yuca chips to share, it was fresh, chips and corn nuts were crunchy, we devoured it! Our salads were good and we found the watermelon salad very refreshing. Out of the 4 entrees, the best one was the Churrasco Steak, the portion size was big and half was taken home. Now for the not so good. I ordered the 3 tacos, 1 of each minus the chicken. One included a small piece of fish, the rest were bland and the best thing was the homemade tortillas. I asked for hot sauce, however both ( chipotle jam and a mango) were too sweet for me. My hubby ordered the braised pork mole. All 4 of us are mole fans, however this dish tasted more like a pork stew in a very watery sauce and pork was not very tender. The third dish was one of the specials of the day, a crispy breaded chicken breast, to say the least, it was a disappointment and a reminder that not all specials are good. We skipped dessert and although our meals were not as we expected, it's a nice restaurant. read more
