The wait staff is incredibly kind and attentive to the needs of the customers. The variety of food and flavors is lacking slightly here, but I really enjoy it. I cannot believe you guys would charge me $1.50 for a slice lime to go with my $17.51 Taco and enchilada combo meal. ONE lime slice for $1.50 is absolutely absurd when a customer is paying almost $18. And the fact that Alex and Luis were so RUDE about it is ridiculous! Alex literally said "we charge for everything. If you want sour cream or guacamole it costs money" ummm sir I'm not asking for sour cream or guacamole, I'm asking for a tiny slice of lime to give your bland taco some flavor. They were so condescending and rude I'm seriously still in shock. Safeway has and ENTIRE lime for 33 cents and 99 cents if you're feeling fancy and want an organic lime. Price gouging at its finest. This review is long overdue! We have been coming to Guadalajara Grill for some time. Their food is super flavorful with generous portions. Drinks always made deliciously especially their margaritas! We can't ever get enough of their Salsa and bean dip. We've even come by to pick up just that lol. They need to bottle up that salsa and sell over the counter. We've gone out of our way for the salsa. Their tacos are also off the hook! Carne asada and fish tacos are the way to go. Every-time we have gone the staff has always been super friendly and attentive. Restaurant itself is large and spacious. read more

Guadalajara Taqueria is, by far, the blandest Mexican restaurant I have ever experienced. It is actually impressive that they've achieved this level of tastelessness, especially since Mexican cuisine is built on a foundation of staples and spices that are nearly impossible to ruin. Somehow, they've succeeded in failing. ​I started with the Super Burrito, which was an absolute disaster of zero flavor and "oops, all rice"--there was barely a trace of meat inside. Furthermore, most Mexican restaurants distinguish a "Super" burrito by including all the condiments (sour cream, guac, etc.). Here, "Super" apparently just means rice, beans, and meat, which is really just a standard burrito. ​The shrimp burrito was equally tragic, offering a similar lack of seasoning and a mysterious absence of actual shrimp. I'd rank this experience below an elementary school cafeteria or a vending machine microwave meal. They make 7-Eleven hot rollers look like fine dining. read more

I never thought I'd say this, but after 30+ years of loyal support, Guadalajara just lost us. We were blindsided with a $25-per-person minimum for my mom's 94th birthday, and with no prior notice, we had to cancel the event and find somewhere else to celebrate. Our small but loyal group is done. This was completely disrespectful, and we'll be taking our celebrations to a place that actually respects its customers. We're moving on. My friend and I had a late lunch today where we split a order beef nachos. Of course they put chips and salsa on the table. We knew we were having nachos so the chips and salsa were bairly touched. I didn't check the bill before we left which was a mistake on my part, and when I got home I realized I was charged 4.00 for chips. According to your website the first round of chips are free and like I said we barely touched the chips. I just wanted to post this to show that the employees at this restaurant are not honest. We have eaten there several times and never have this problem but why today? I don't understand. Ambiance is nice. The beef tacos are in preformed shells like you buy in the grocery store and use ground beef that was so finely ground it was almost like a paste. Didn't feel very unique. I hate to write reviews like this when people are just trying to make a living, but I have to say that my taco salad bowl was not up to what I was expecting. I got the ground beef, which was tasty, but there wasn't much there. No salsa on top, very little cheese, and a tiny drizzle of crema, with soggy lettuce. There was water in the bottom of the plate making the shell bowl soggy. I was quite disappointed and won't return. By the way, the service was very good. It's sad...Guadalajara Grill was one of our favorites and now, we won't be back:( We ordered the Chicken Suisa Enchiladas with Rice and Beans and a second dinner/2 Crispy Tacos...Rice and Beans as well. Not less then 5 minutes later our meals were on the table...not sure about you but I like to enjoy the chips and salsa and a bit of drink beforehand...another annoying issue/every time a meal was brought out it was announced very loudly with a 'HOT PLATE' LOL Chips and Salso very good Margaritas very good! The tacos consisted of boiled chicken with no flavor/still pink and dripping of water with each bite/I suppose they forgot to drain the meat before placing it into the taco. The same meat was used for the enchiladas so it was basically a MUSHY concoction of 'I'm not sure' LOL We sent the tacos back and the Waiter was very nice and gave us the Carnitas Tacos/it's not his fault! To tell you the truth for $72 tip included for 2 meals and 2 Margaritas I really felt like there was absolutely no care in the preparation of the food. Slam it out get you out and bring in the 'NEXT' Unsuspecting Victim. If this was a drive through no problem but I was really looking forward to dining out...left the house at 6:09 PM and back in the driveway 49 minutes later LOL with a $72 bill and a bad taste for Guadalajara Grill. Okay it took me a while to get to this review but I wanted to make sure i did it. This place was horrible. I took my roommates kid here for his graduation dinner. It was not a good choice and now I feel bad for his kid. The food was not good. It was mushy, has no flavor just mediocre. My brother got a margarita and he loves margaritas but he did not like this one. It was a too sweet. They did not spilt checks and when I asked for one of the workers if they could take a picture of us. He said not right now he would need to come back. He never came back. When I did ask him again He was incredibly rude and did not look happy. To completely honest this place should be shut down there is nothing good about it. At least make it something where people want to go to . You cant make crappy food and charge an arm and leg for it. I called to place an order to go on 3/24/24 around 3 p.m. I've been a value/loyal customer since 1999. I am now never going back to Guadalajara Grill and will be taking my services elsewhere Guadalajara Grill has lost a very valuable and loyal customer and 3 other valuable/loyal customers. I called to place an order to pick up as per usual today, 3/24/24 However unlike usual, I was placed on hold for 5 minutes, then hung up on. When I called back to say I was placed on hold then must have been accidentally hung up on, I was placed on hold for about 1 minute (by same person who picked up at Guadalajara Grill) When I was finished placing my family's order for dinner (family of 3), as I have done since 1999 that I always payed for at Guadalajara Grill restaurant, I was told that in order to keep my order, I would need to pay with a credit or debit card over the phone. I asked if this was a new policy, as I have not had to pay over the phone, which this question was avoided and not answered directly other than for large orders payment is required to hold order; I explained that I did not feel comfortable paying over the phone and asked/explained that I live in walking distance and would be at Guadalajara Grill at/by 5 p.m. to pick up to go order and would pay at restaurant; That then my order would not be made to go until payment at restaurant When I asked/explained that I needed to pick up ready to go at 5 p.m.; I was told, then I will have to cancel your order and was hung up on. I called back a 3rd time to speak with Guadalajara Manager (same person picked up Guadalajara Grill phone) Who stated that he was the Manager of Guadalajara Grill, When I asked again regarding if new policy;(Daughter of previous Guadalajara Grill owner is the new owner for about 1 year) I was rudely hung up for a 4th time with 0 explanation or words. I called back a 5th & final time (same person/supposed Guadalajara Grill Manager answered the phone) I asked/explained that on their official website that the only policy was related to requiring payment over phone to keep Reservations/Large Party Policy for 15 guests & up, And I asked to to speak to the owner of Guadalajara Grill for clarification of policy, when no response, then hung up on for a 5th and final time. My husband and decided to try this place for the first time. We went on a Friday evening around 7 PM and the restaurant was quite full, so we took that as a good sign. We were greeted right away and got a table immediately. The waitress was nice, nothing too special about her service. On the front of the menu, they have several rules. One being that you must spend at least $12 per person so that they can "continue providing quality food". That was kind of weird. I've never seen that before. We both order micheladas and they are brought out right away. Again, they have a full restaurant so that was nice. I order a taco salad with ground beef and my husband ordered the beef flautas. After we placed our order, we received our food no more than 5 minutes later. We were both shocked because we know it does not take 5 minutes to make all that food. Especially when the restaurant is full. We start eating our food and it was lukewarm. There was no heat. It felt like it had been sitting on a counter for a while.. but we had just ordered 5 minutes ago. This was an immediate NO for me, a complete red flag and recipe for food poisoning. Ground beef should never be lukewarm. I move the ground beef aside and start trying other parts of my salad and there is absolutely no flavor. I'm Mexican and the lack of flavor in Mexican food is so disappointing. Even the chips and salsa they brought out tasted like canned salsa. This restaurant has so much potential. It's in a great shopping center but the food is awful. We paid $66 for two. And I left hungry because I could not eat my food. I will never return. read more

Plus a pitcher of margaritas and 3 children's drinks the total came to over $100 once we had finished our food we ask for the taco trail stickers but the waiter told us no as we hadn't ordered any tacos. That isn't stated in the rules that it has to be a taco just food from the place of businesses. Eventually after he argued with us over it he did give us them. Also he neglected to inform us that the children's drinks would cost nearly $12 because we didn't order them with a meal. Worst restaurant experience I've had in a long time. I was with the person in the last review. The burrito in question was a "super" burrito. Came with nothing on top, and inside (as stated below) 4 oversized pieces of beef in the first 1/2 in of the burrito, the rest was straight beans and rice, I'm sorry, that's a super burrito? The way the owner of this restaurant carried herself in front of her staff and other patrons was absolutely ridiculous. Literally had a yelling match with us in the open dining room. Continually arguing after we stated it was fine and that we just wouldn't be back. Came back out and continued the argument. In her words "this isn't a high end restaurant"...what?! Lmao who says that?! Other nice people trying enjoy their lunch made a point to tell my friend and I that the owner acted completely out of line. I had a meeting and went here with some people with whom I was presenting . I have to say that I love the idea of this place. It looks great, is cavernous inside, and has really great staff. It was nice and clean. They also had cacti outside, and all but one were picked clean of tuna's and I thought "flavor." But no, the food was just OK. Now I realize that I'm spoiled, because I live in an area with banging Mexican food and I know that in some areas I need to keep my expectations low. The woman who recommended it loved it so much that I really expected more than what we had. The food was rather bland, they had sodas (American, not Mexican) and the food came rather quick. I had chips and salsa, while the rest of the people at my table were eating food. No one thought that it was particularly great. Only one person took the food left over to go. My co-worker told me that her food was very bland and she ate only half of it. Another person also ate about half of her food. After the chips and salsa, I didn't want to order a dish. The salsa was not fantastic and had no oomph to it. I took a cue and said I wasn't hungry. But I was.
