For the meal I had today which was a Turkey Avocado Sandwich and their Class Orange Smoothie: Their turkey sandwich is not bad, but the bread is chewy. Their Orange smoothie is easier to drink, but I felt that it was a bit on the sour side.. This cafe in general is great to have a light breakfast or lunch in. I am a big fan of their smoothies so far, but I don't like their lemonade/tea drinks just yet. (I don't drink coffee, so I can't comment on that) There is a lot of space available for the place, which is nice, but they have no space around 12 o'clock for lunch.. :( The workers on the other hand are some of the nicest people you will ever meet, and they try to be as helpful as possible. Your favorite neighborhood friendly coffee shop! I used to live on the peninsula side of the Bay Area and surrounded by Starbucks at every other corner -- but when I moved to the East Bay, that was different. But since moving near by Eon I've also enrolled at the Jr. college across the street and I have to say this is THE spot for any college student. I know of students from CSUEB and Alameda College studying here. Besides the peaceful quiet coffee shop, the zen like ambience the house brew dutch coffee gets your day going and keeps you going! they also offer those mixed coffee drinks such as peppermint mochas, hazelnut lattes and pistachio lattes. This is my FAVORITE ramen place in the Bay Area! You have to try the Regular Miso ramen here on Saturday or Sunday, around lunch time. It's SO good! I love Eon Coffee. It is considerably more quiet than any of the Starbucks in the area, and provides totally adequate WiFi and seating. I especially love sitting outside on the days that are a bit cooler. The fan in my laptop isn't exactly "all that", so you know how it is. Eon has great coffee. Really good indeed. But what makes this place awesome is the fact that they also serve ramen. Which seems a bit bizarre at face value, but is also really cool when you think about it. Coffee and paninis can get old real fast. Why not get a little bit of ramen in your life while you drink your latte? Prices here are really solid, especially for the organic tea. Yummy! Plenty of parking and a warm and friendly staff make this place feel a lot more intimate than any chain coffee shop I have been to recently. My boyfriend really likes dutch coffee, so we come here just for that! Highly recommend, it's like a more flavorful cold brew (different brewing process but also using cold water). We also tried the Turkey pesto panini, and it was very tasty although it didn't have a strong pesto flavor. Everyone who works here is super friendly, there's a good amount of both indoor and outdoor seating, and parking is easy with the dedicated lot. Definitely worth a visit! read more

I don't understand the reviews on this place. Ordered a bagel. Asked how much it would be to add a slice of tomato, which they have in front of them. The owner standing right there refused to add tomato no matter how much I paid... what? Terrible service. Just shook his head and walked away. I was so polite to him. Then I get the bagel and the cream cheese I ordered. It is the SMALLEST container of cheese ever. Barely enough to cover one side of the bagel. Less than what even comes in the packets. I paid $4 for a bagel and cream cheese and feel ripped off. They don't even put it on the bagel for you because they know it is not enough and would look embarrassing! They don't wipe down tables in between guests either. I would never return read more

The coffee shop everyone is looking for right in front of them. It's a quiet place to study, good coffee, and has a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating. Note to ramen enthusiasts - they only serve ramen on Saturdays/Sundays, which their website does not make clear - oh well (actually, there's no indication at all). Came here to get some work done during a work-from-home today, but would have been just as happy in my local Starbucks I think. I'm trying to support more local businesses though, so here I am. Speaking of work, most of the outlets here, while plentiful, aren't strong enough to hold a macbook block charger. I had to move twice to find an outlet that would keep its grip around the prongs. That was annoying. The matcha green tea latte was good, if a little sweet. The turkey mushroom panini had a stray olive in it, which really irritated me, but even if it weren't there, there's nothing special about it. It was kind of bland and the pickle spear that came had clearly spent too much time in the store-bought jar it came from - soggy and gross. Overall, it seems like an ok place to work for the day, but again - I'd have been better off being closer to home and I wouldn't go out of my way to come back. read more

This place is walking distance from Chabot (right across the street) but I didn't think to come here, I assumed it was another generic coffeehouse using the same bay area roasted beans as other shops (cough cough Mr. Espr*sso cough). Boy was I wrong! To my surprise, they roast the beans in house, and have some speciality items that wouldn't be found in other places. Mediocre. The barista was very nice and welcoming. He was very fast as well. Also there was good teamwork amongst the employees. I ordered a hot white macadamia mocha, which is called something else on the menu- and it's a latte? As well as the sun-dried tomato bagel. The coffee was lightly sweet (probably from whipped cream) and watery The bagel was toasted and the "sun dried" tomato was just a cream cheese spread. No actual sun dried tomatoes. I got it on an everything bagel. Parking was great, they have a whole lot to themselves. Apparently they also serve ramen on sat and sun but they use instant green noodles. I haven't tried it but I don't expect much. It's not the cleanest dining area. It's a self clean up- there is a bin to take your dishes (plastic). So some people don't do it, and wiping the tables down seems to be up to you as well. Good for grab and go or if you're in the area, like me, when everything else is closed. It actually gets busy. Not really sure why I'm drawn to this place. Pretty nice cafe in Hayward with a good variety of drinks, easy parking, and plenty of seating. It's right by the Chabot College so there's usually a fair amount of people hanging out or doing work. They also serve ramen on Sundays and sell a good variety of packaged foods or baked goods. I usually get their iced dutch coffee but their iced mochas are pretty good too. The drinks are not overly sweet and they are happy to accommodate to your taste. Their Iced Dutch Coffee really gets me quite jittery and feeling buzzed on caffeine. I feel like good cafes are hard to find. When the closest coffee shop by your work is a Starbucks you really start to appreciate Eon and other small, local shops. read more

A nice place across the street from Chabot College. Good spot to get your study on or to grab a bite to eat on your way to work, or at lunchtime. Very clean, friendly service, comfy chairs, and pretty darn good coffee. Free wifi is always a plus. It was pretty spacious, with both indoor/outdoor seating. The hours are usually from 6am to 9pm (Closed on Sundays). Their early morning brews are always fresh. Their sandwiches never fail. A really amazing cafe, and a perfect place to do some quiet study! There is ample seating, both indoors and outdoors, as well as plenty of free parking in their very own parking lot. The coffee is decent, and their lunch options are really very decent. Tried their Ramen Soup for lunch today, and found it to be rather good - all the ingredients are freshly made right at the cafe, including the noodles and the ramen soup. Good quantity, sufficient to fill a grown up adult for the rest of the day, and a good choice for those watching their weight and calory intake. I also found the wifi connection to be solid. Great spot, easy to find, lots of parking, and very affordable prices. But I wasn't very impressed with the food selection. The breakfast panini I had was a disgusting mess. I live by the 'never waste food' lifestyle, but this sandwich was horrible. There wasn't anything special about my visit that made me excited to return, except the fact that the staff has been super friendly the couple times I've visited and it's nice to support independently owned coffee shops instead of Starbucks. Nice staff and solid menu. I knocked off stars because the place was often times filthy. I usually frequent this spot a couple hours during the week while I wait to pick up my brother from Chabot across the street. The bathroom is always a mess its old and outdated, towel dispenser doesn't always work. Also puddles of who knows what on the floor. Tables in the seating area are almost always sticky and have crumbs on them from patrons that had come and left. I usually grab a few napkins from the cashier area and wipe it myself. I attempted to get a paper towel from the restroom but obviously that never works. Last week was the first time I saw someone come around 6pm and give them a quick wipe down. Felt like he should've done it every 15-30 minutes as people are constantly coming and going. Overall when it is clean it's a cozy spot. Coffee is nice and the food looks good... I'm a little paranoid to eat somewhere when I see flies buzzing around tables. Again like I said, strong menu and very nice staff. I always get great service and that makes up for a lot of the filth. I'll keep coming here for my couple hours during the week because of that and how quiet it is. I just know not to use the bathroom here and wipe the table before sitting down. read more

This is my new favorite coffee shop in Hayward, right across the street from Chabot College. The parking lot is pretty big, large enough to accommodate all the patrons. When I come in, most of the other customers are students, with their large textbooks and varying-sized laptops in tow. While there maybe a study group or two here, most of the place is library-quiet. It makes for a great atmosphere to enjoy drinks and food while reading or working. The wifi is free and stable, perfect for doing research (or just watching funny cat videos). read more

Eon is an incredible cafe! Absolutely the best cappuccino in Hayward. World-class cappuccino! Great ambience for study AND for socializing. The staff is THE BEST ANYWHERE. A great variety of comfortable seating--tables, a couch and easy chairs near a fireplace, standing desks, etc. I upgraded to 5 stars today because they have finally gotten their wi-fi connection fast and solid.
