Several days ago,on Wednesday July 11, I called the Carmel mtn location of wings and things and placed an order for carry out. About 15 min later I picked my order up. When I arrived to my parents' house I realized that I was given the wrong order. I immediately called back to the store and asked the manager, Monica, to make me a new order, and I also asked for a full refund, emphasizing the amount of time I had lost. It happened during rush hour, and also out of sheer inconvenience. The manager wasn't helpful at all, even though it was the restaurant's mistake in the first place. She did offer a 25% discount, but I didn't think it was adequate compensation for the loss of time and general inconvenience. Upon arriving back to the store I was told that my order wasn't put back in the system, so I had to wait another 15 min. The manager was condescending and a little bit sardonic. I have an accent and slight speech impediment, so I felt disrespected and not taken seriously at all. This company put a rude teenager who doesn't understand the true meaning of customer service, in an assistant manager position. There's no corporate phone number and no way to reach a regional manager. No wonder customer service is marginal. I'd sent an email to the email address I found on their website. It's really tough to beat wings n things. Like really tough. I'm not a wing fanatic but I've been known to kill a dozen or two no problem. Wings n Things has the best buffalo wings in San Diego. I should note that I'm purely a buffalo guy. Some other spots definitely have more flavors and rubs to choose from. But no one beats the quality and taste of wings n things. Their beer prices are great too. Great place to come watch the game and get full. I must mention however that this location in particular gets overrun with high school kids. We went to the carmel mountain location for Wings and Things 30th anniversary. As you can imagine it was packed because they offered 30 cent wings as well as a cheap combo deal. Staff was so organized as they moved us through the line fast. The layout here is awesome. Flat screen TV's everywhere. A Bar with exceptional craft beer. More modern and up to date than the Mira Mesa location. The Food is awesome. Wings are crispy, everything come hot and in a decent time, even during a rush. read more

I love the chicken strips with the medium sauce. A little heat, but not too hot that you're sweating bullets. I usually get the five strips meal which comes with 2 bread sticks, carrots and celery with a choice of ranch or blue cheese dressing and a drink. Seems like the chicken strips are a bit smaller, but they put more then five, more like 8-10 strips due to the smaller size I guess. The strips are white meat chicken and are good and crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. The sauce is good. Tried most of the ones available, mild, medium, hot, extra hot, garlic and BBQ. I prefer the medium. The garlic can be a bit much, unless you're a garlic lover. The wings are good too, but I think you get more food with the strips meal. read more

I love Wings n Things. The seating is nice, plenty of booths and tables for a larger group plus huge, high def TVs for watching sports. They also have outdoor seating under an awning with heaters which is really nice. They remodeled a bit recently so there is some bar seating added now. Great deals on pitchers of beer. Now for the food. The food is absolutely delicious. They changed how the menu works recently and their prices went up a little bit but not too badly. Now for $6.29 you can get 4 piece strips, 5 pc boneless wings, or 6 pc wings plus two breadsticks which is a pretty good deal - add $1 for a drink. You can get your chicken however you like it - mild, medium, hot, extra hot, or atomic hot or garlic, original BBQ, honey BBQ, lemon pepper. I usually get mild because the sauce is very creamy but the medium is good too. A friend of mine ordered the atomic hot once and our eyes started watering as soon as it got to the table. All ordered also comes with carrots & celery and ranch or blue cheese sauce. The breadsticks are hot and buttery and the chicken is juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Truly delicious. The main purpose that I came here was that I heard from others that this one serves on actual dining plates compared to the other Wings n' Things, so I had to check it out since it was on my way of running errands. I came here when it was slow around 2pm. The place itself is really nice and clean and I like the square-ish mapping of the place, and there's also a small outside area to dine as well. The staff on the register was nice and prompt, and always keeps an eye out if a customer comes in. From going to Wings N' Things many times and at different locations, the food had greatly met my higher expectations. I got a 5-strip combo, and they were a good size, and the BBQ sauce and Ranch are delicious as always. In general, the Ranch dip/dressing from Wings N' Things is my absolute favorite. I was in the San Diego area heading home. I yelped Wing N' Things and it took me here. I was expecting a small restaurant like the ones in Oceanside and Escondido. Well, I got something completely different. This Wings N' Things is the biggest in regards to square footage. The store had a sports bar theme to it. Both indoor and patio seating available. I ordered my food to go and only had to wait 10 minutes. The quality and taste of food was the same as the rest: pretty darn good. My flavor is the BBQ chicken strips. I've tried the "mild" and "hot" flavors but it was more sour than spicy. If I am ever in the area again, I'll definitely eat or order from here again. read more

Wings N Things is a great low-key place to grab a lunch or dinner. It's a very clean restaurant with nice decor. Framed Chargers and Padres jerseys hang from the upper walls. Local high school football jerseys and helmets are also displayed. I always find that to be a nice touch. I've been to this location a few times and it's never been crowded. There are four very large HDTV's that always have sports on. I really like the strips here. They always taste so fresh. I get them with BBQ sauce. The celery and carrots that come with the meals go very well with the chicken. Lastly, the breadsticks here are incredible. You can easily fill up here with food and drink for less than $10 a person. They also have some of the best ranch & blue cheese I've tasted, and to be honest the carrots and celery are also awesome (no jagged cut, skinny cut pieces). The boneless wings are delicious YET THEIR FALSE ADVERTISEMENT HAS GOT TO STOP (reason for my one star). I received an advertisement email from Wings N Things about their buy one get one meal. Our family planned for our dinner outing a week before so there were no schedule conflicts. We drove all the way over there and waited in a line for our boneless chicken wings meal. When we finally get to the counter they tell us it's for bone in only!! The flyer was on their register and no where on there did it state BONE IN only. Given that we had 3 hungry children and we just waited in that line, we stayed. The manager on duty had very poor customer service skills and was very unprofessional. After sitting at our table and talking with numerous upset customers, I watched the manager sit behind the counter on a bar stool while the line was out the door, tables were dirty and all the while the employees were busting their butt. Terrible customer service. All I ordered was buffalo fries with no cheese because I am lactose intolerant . The cashier says 10-15 mins. I waited for 30 mins. It was not busy but I saw dine in and take our customers come in after me and get food before I did. When I asked the cashier for my order he went to the back and grab it. I can not tell you how impressed I am with the performance of this Wings-N-Things for Super Bowl Sunday, obviously one of the busiest "Wing Days" of the year. When I called on Saturday and said I wanted to place a large carry-out order for our Super Bowl party, I was politely asked what time I wanted to pick them up. When I said "2 pm" she very kindly informed me that between 1-4 it would be pretty crazy (no surprise) but if I was willing to wait a bit, it should be no problem. She told me what the total was, I offered to put it on my card then and there, but she said, no, just pay tomorrow when you pick them up. To me, this was concerning, but I said OK. Fast forward to Sunday, we pull up at 2 pm expecting the worst. Sure enough there's a short line back to the door. But with 3 registers open, I am at the counter in a minute or two. I can hear the other people being told the wait for wings is around an hour. Uh oh. I say, I phoned in an order yesterday, she asks my name, pulls up my order and charges my card. Literally, less than a minute later, I am handed the bag with my hot wings and bread-sticks and am on the way to the party. The wings were hot, fresh and delicious.
