One thing to note is that their menu is entirely in Chinese, which adds to the authentic feel but might be a challenge if you can't read Chinese. When we were ready, we grabbed a large mixing bowl and the server hit a hidden switch that raised the thermal curtain to all the food choices. It's like being in a candy store and you had free rein. You make your own choices and pick from the bins in the refrigerated case with the provided tongs. We decided to have a single bowl and made it a family meal for 3. Once you make your selections from all the different fish balls, seafood, multi-variations of tofu, mushrooms, vegetables & noodles, hand the bowl to the server to be weighed ($ per pound) and let them know how you would like it to be cooked. You have a choice of noodle soup, fried or dry pot. We elected dry pot, which is basically wok stir fried. You can also add beef or lamb for $3 per serving and we asked for double beef. They also serve BBQ skewers of beef, lamb & chicken, so we tried 2 lamb sticks. Be careful when you order the spice level because it can be misleading. White is totally no spice, while Mild is 2 pepper signs, Medium is 3 peppers and Spicy is 4. We went with mild and it was plenty spicy for me because I fished out 6 pieces of dried red chili peppers from our pot. I don't even want to be in the same room with Level 4 for fear of it scorching my tongue. I got gong bao Ji ding, some sort of tofu and wood ear dish, and a potato curry. The chicken was super fatty and rich dark meat with a juicy, tender texture. You could really taste the wok hei in this dish and it had some pleasant heat to it. This is probably my favorite dish I got. The potato curry was also flavorful, and the potatoes were not mushy and over cooked- just creamy and marinated in curry flavor. The tofu was surprisingly deep in flavor. The sauce completely penetrated the fried triangles of tofu with slight sweetness and savoriness. It was pleasantly chewy and overall seemed to be expertly prepared. This picture of the food genuinely looks horrible, but you have to take my word that everything I ate here was very delicious. I find that often this type of place offers many dishes that all taste very similar but each of the things I tried had its own distinct flavor profile.
