I was hanging out with a friend, and we decided to get KBBQ. However, after checking out the initial place, we changed our minds and decided to look around and found this spot on the corner. From the outside, it looks casual, but once inside, you notice right away the high ceiling, which is unusual for places in College Point/Flushing. We were greeted right away, chose our table, and were promptly served cold water with the menu. They don't have a lot of options, and you don't have an option for fried or steamed dumplings; it's either or. I went with the popular Shrimp, Chives, and Egg, which is only steamed. My friend got the Beef and Onions, which came fried. My dumplings were really good; the wrapper was fresh and chewy but soft, and each dumpling had a full shrimp in it and was stuffed well. I like that they make them fresh in front of you, as the kitchen is open and you can see the staff working. They also have a self-serve sauce station that has soy sauce, vinegar, and chili oil. I definitely want to go back and try the other dumplings, along with their soup pots.
I went there on Saturday at 1pm. It was packed. There were people waiting for take out. We ordered 2 pan fried dumplings, pork and celery and chicken and corn. My kids are not a fan of celery, but they like the chicken and corn. Almost every other table order steam dumplings. I order the shrimp dumpling, steamed. There is a small shrimp in each dumpling. I thought it is pretty good. There is a sauce station that you can prepare your own dipping sauce. They have soy sauce, vinegar, sesame oil, hot chili oil and minced garlic. My wife like the pork shoulder hot pot. It cones with some veggies and tofu skin. For dessert, I think the red beans are too gooey for me. I preferred the sesame paste dessert. Both dessert comes with sesame mochi. Mochi taste good.
Loved this spot! My boyfriend and I shared the shrimp, chive and egg dumplings, which were fantastic, along with the fish fillet and vegetable pot soup with spicy and sour broth. The soup was sooo good! Perfect lunch for a cold day. Bonus points for having indoor seating and a bathroom.
Quick, casual restaurant with yummy food! Went here with friends for a weekday dinner and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of food! Restaurant is also clean and has a casual ambiance, but seating is limited (so come before 6pm to avoid a wait). We ordered: - Shrimp, chive and eggs dumpling (must get, this only comes steamed fyi) - Fried celery and pork dumplings (tasty but not as flavorful as other pork dumplings I've had) - Fish filet and vegetable pot with spicy & sour broth (very tasty, good portion, can be split between 2-3 people to share) Dumpling xi also has a mini sauce bar where you can get vinegar and chili oil to go with your food. The staff also recommended the fried shrimp/fish roe/pork dumpling but we did not get - so will try it next time. Overall a great food spot to hit up if you want something easy and tasty!

Noticed that their takeout packaging was very thoughtfully designed specifically for dumplings, with each layer neatly separated.
A newer dumpling restaurant in the middle of Flushing, if you love dumplings. The filling and size was on the smaller side but the taste was there. I only tried the boiled shrimp, chives, and egg with the pan-fried beef and onions dumplings. They were both tasty and just enough to tame my dumpling craving. They do also have some appetizers and other dishes like noodles as well. I wasn't able to try more since they were closing, I was glad they do open until 11pm!

I get the homey feels for their dumplings. Tastes just like moms! I really enjoyed all the dumplings here and wasn't even mad that we had to get our own utensils and sauces. Everything came out tasty and the service was pretty nice! Only downside is the black sesame dessert, it was a big gumpy and could had been smoother. But otherwise, dumplings are great!!!
May return. Although most Chinese restaurants serve dumplings, this one specializes in them, nearly exclusively. However, their dumplings have no folds, like 2D, and are flat. The folds give the dumpling three-dimensionality, making it more appealing. The interior is simply red and simple.
Been wanting to try this relatively new dumpling restaurant that opened at a busy corner of Prince St. Came on a weekday night with my friends for dinner and the place was pretty packed since there are not a lot of tables and seats. Although, the ceiling was very high so it did not feel claustrophobic. Along with the bright white lights, red wall tones, and Chinese decorations, the place felt very welcoming. Upon walking in, we were greeted by the only waiter who left us to a table and provided us with water cups. He gave us ample time to review the menu and provided recommendations when we asked. The good thing was that their most popular items were already started on the menu which made deciding easier. My friends and I did family style in which we shared three items. The fish fillet vegetable pot was very flavorful and a tad spicier than normal. The shrimp egg dumplings was good but does not come pan fried. I personally like the pan fried outside but a different inside filling than the celery. The sauce is self made and I like both the vinegar and the chilli oil with sesame oil and soy sauce. The server is very attentive and provided great service! FYI - The restaurant has one restroom for its customers
I am super picky about my dumplings and I must say I was pleasantly surprised about how good these were! The ingredients were interesting and not what you usually see at other dumpling places. We ordered: Pork, fish roe and shrimp fried dumplings: 5/5 this combo was so delicious. I loved the popping roe! Egg, chive, and shrimp boiled dumplings: 4/5 not bad! But I don't think I'll order this again, I'd rather get another order of the fish roe pork shrimp dumplings Beef and wood ear: 3.5/5 pretty standard fare when it comes to beef and wood ear. Pretty consistent with other restaurants that serve the same thing. Hot and sour fish vegetable pot: 4/5 this wasn't bad. I was expecting something like sauerkraut fish but it was a tom yum soup. Not bad but not what I was expecting Overall, it's on the pricier side when it comes to dumplings in Flushing but it does taste elevated. The place is pretty small and cramped. Service is quick, and no frills.

Dumpling Xi 喜家德 is a chain from Hegang, China with over 800 locations (mostly in China), that serves fresh Northeastern-style dumplings and simple stews. Dumpling Xi opened a location in Downtown Flushing in February 2025. Dishes we had in our first visit: - Shrimp, Fish Roe, and Pork Dumplings: $13.99. While we ordered these as fried, they arrived as steamed. The dumplings were simple but tasty when dipped in a sesame oil / soy sauce mix. The dumplings were rather small for the price. - Neck Bones Combo Pot: $10.99. The meat from the neck bone was flavorful, and fall-off-the-bone soft and tender. The egg was overcooked and the vegetables were undercooked. Other: - The staff will bring your food to you and provide water, a basic set of dishes, and chopsticks. You'll have to get your own condiments, extra dishes (e.g., for dipping sauce) and extra utensils.
Pretty decent dumpling place. Staff immediately came over to have us seated when we came in We tried the shrimp, fish row, pork dumpling and neck bone combo pot. The dumplings were juicy, have a whole shrimp, and you can taste the fish row. The combo pot had tofu skin, bok choy, and of course pork neck. Tho the neck only had 3 vertebra. The meat though was fall off the bone with was great. The stew itself was flavorful too, not overly salty. But that also means it's great by itself, but not as much with rice. Also all the food came quick. We were in and out in like 20 minutes. All in all solid place tho I think I'll stick with my current go tos in the area for now
Located in Flushing, you will find Dumpling Xi, along with rows of other Asian places. It's a small cafe style place that was busy and clean. We were greeted and seated. Waters and menu arrived quickly. It was going on 10pm EST so we wanted a light meal. They specialize in steamed and fried dumplings. While I prefer steamed, I didn't want a dozen dumplings. There were no option for half an order. For the fried dumplings, you could order 6 of them so we went that route. We ordered the chicken and corn and the shrimp, fish roe and pork shoulder dumplings. Service was quick. There's an area to make your own sauce so I helped myself to a mixture of soy sauce, vinegar, sesame oil, chili sauce &. garlic. Yum not too greasy and flavorful with the sauce. Every bite is quite literally a burst of flavors Ordered the shrimp, fish roe, and pork dumpling with a chicken leg combo pot. The chicken leg combo surprised me with how tender and tasty the chicken was. The bean curds also carried the flavor well. The dumplings were another surprise. Every bite popped with a little bit of juice from the shrimp and fish roe. Amazing. The only downside I would say is there are no plates that I'm used to eating at restaurants. I just took an extra sauce dish and used that. Service was relatively quick. Food came out nice and hot. There are some condiments you can grab yourself near the back. Was craving soup and decided to try this spot on Prince St in flushing. First we had to order dumplings because it's the name of the place! The dumplings are really good. Tasted very fresh and I would definitely recommend. I personally like fried dumplings but I saw many people order the steamed version. Then we ordered a spicy fish soup because it was the #1 recommended on the menu. I have to say I was a bit underwhelmed. It tasted quite bland. Also ordered the chicken leg combo pot and while the presentation is nice, it is also bland. It tastes more like something people cook at home rather than restaurant quality. I went to Dumpling Xi and had such a great experience! One of the coolest parts was watching the chefs make the dumplings by hand; you can see them right at the front, and it adds a nice, authentic touch. We were seated right away with no wait, which was a pleasant surprise. The food came out super quickly, and everything was served as it was ready, so we were always eating something fresh and hot. We ordered the shrimp, chives & egg dumplings, which were light and nicely balanced. The real standout, though, was the shrimp, fish roe & pork dumplings; we got them both fried and boiled in red chili oil. The fried ones were good, but the boiled with chili oil ones were incredible. When I bit into one, the soup inside literally popped out, so juicy and flavorful, with a perfect hit of heat from the chili oil. We also tried two of the soup pot dishes. The fish fillet & vegetable pot with spicy & sour broth had a nice level of spice and a comforting flavor, even if you're not usually a fish person, it's worth trying. The beef & vegetable pot with pinto bean broth was also great, with super tender beef and rich broth. Another plus: they have a sauce bar stocked with chili oil, soy sauce, and more, so you can mix and match to your taste. Overall, everything was flavorful, service was quick, and the whole experience was great. I'll be back! read more
I decided to get take out from Dumpling Xi after getting a recommendation from a friend. There is a kiosk in the front so the process was very simple. Ordered the Corn and Pork Fried Dumplings ($11.99) and the Fish Fillet & Vegetable Pot with Spicy & Sour Broth ($10.99) The dumplings were not overly oily or salty, there was a crisp to the wrapper but not crunchy, the wrapper looks a little thick but it's not chewy, and was enjoyable with or without dipping sauces (grounded garlic + chili oil sauce). I enjoyed the filling but wish there was a little bit more per dumpling. The Fish Fillet & Vegetable Pot with Spicy & Sour Broth was flavorful, but I wish the fish was smoother and meatier. The packaging for takeout was very thoughtful, as they separate the dumplings to ensure that they do not stick together. read more
Saw their dumplings are freshly made to order so we ordered a few options to try. Steamed/boiled dumplings had shrimp, pork, chives and egg while the fried dumplings had pork, shrimp and fish roe. They were both very good but the boiled with egg was hands down the best. The filling was reminiscent of a chive pocket that is typically deep fried. The fish fillet soup was also very good especially on a cold night. read more

Very small restaurant and you have to get your own water, bowl/dipping bowl/sauce. Dumpling skin perfect to my liking. However, very very little pork in the dumplings. Also got the fish soup pot, which was bland, but great value. read more
This restaurant chain, based in China, has locations worldwide but this is their first location in NYC with another slated to open in the East Village soon. Their homemade dumplings, has a slightly thicker, chewier wrapper (reminiscent of dumplings one makes at home). They tout that their food is made with less oil and salt for a more healthy dumpling. They don't use any soy sauce in the dumpling fillings and they use wheat flour for the wrapper. I was intrigued so I ordered: Celery and Pork Fried Dumplings ($11.99): 12 pieces of fried pork dumplings. The filing has a very pronounced celery flavor with the chunks of celery mixed with ground pork. After a while, I was not a fan of it. Otherwise, it is a very filling dish. Small Bones Combo Pot ($10.99): had pork bones, bean curd, marinated egg and Bok choy. Such a bargain for this filling dish. Pork was very tender, almost falling off the bone tender. Surprisingly, did not come with rice but ordered it for a $1 more. Honestly, I was more impressed by the Soup Pot selection than the Dumplings selection in their menu. The table next to me ordered the Fish Fillet Pot and it looked amazing. I want to come back and try more of these. These pots were priced so reasonably at $10.99 each. The Fish Fillet Pot looked like it had noodles in the broth, so you probably won't need to get a bowl of rice with that one. read more

I once came here really late before closing and they were really nice and let us in. The pan fried dumpling were soo good! It has a light flavor and I love the size of the dumpling. I personally like it when the dough is not the thick which made it taste better. One of my favorite dumpling spots! I also really like the atmosphere. Even though there's a lot of people usually, it's not too loud and I can still hear my friends. The service was good too! The ladies were really nice and welcoming! Cuisine: 6 Service: 6 Decor: 6 Value: 5 Overall: 6 New corner shop (formerly Gong Gan) on popular Prince Street specializing in Northern style dumplings. They are a popular franchise from China, which seems like the trend nowadays in Flushing. Unfortunately, it was just an average experience. First of all, there are three ladies making fresh dumplings behind a glass counter. That's usually a good sign. All the dumplings wrappers and fillings are made fresh daily, and that makes a difference. However, though they state Northern style dumplings, the hand-made wrappers were very different than most Northern style dumplings skins I'm use to like from Old Captain Dumplings, Best Northern Dumplings, or Chinese Korean Dumplings in New World Mall food court. The skin was a bit more firm and rubbery, which was okay while hot, but definitely not as good as they cooled. For that reason, we preferred the fried dumplings a bit more. As for the filling, we liked both of the flavors we ordered - shrimp, chive & egg / shrimp, fish roe & pork. Unfortunately, there was just so little of it, not plump like most Northern style dumplings. See my picture and you'll have a better idea of how hallow these dumplings were. Comparing prices, their dumplings definitely are on the high end for Flushing, especially when it's not as overstuffed like other places I mentioned above. We also ordered a Fish Fillet & Vegetable Pot with Spicy & Sour Broth. It was a small portion but quite flavorful. Fish was tender, though I would have like a bit more veggies. Regardless, this soup pot was decent for its taste and price. Lastly, it's kind of weird for us to get our own utensils where you order at the table. I get that we need to make our own sauces at the communal station, but to basically serve ourselves was odd. read more

We went in for a quick snack and ordered a plate of shrimp, chives, and egg dumplings. It totally hit the spot! The shrimp were tender and the eggs were fluffy. The self-serve sauce station was modest and clean. I wanted to eat the entire thing of garlic, but I settled for a spoonful mixed with soy sauce. Delicious! After visiting the Tangram Mall my Daughter and I walked the streets of Flushing craving dumplings. We ended up at the world famous Xi Dumplings. Small unassuming place where dumplings are made in front of you. Lucky to get seats without any wait. We each ordered a dozen dumplings. I got the shrimp egg and chive which were absolutely amazing. She got the pork shrimp fish roe in chilli oil. She loved it. Service was good. Only slow Tim g was closing out check. Highly recommended. read more

Cute small dumpling spot in flushing. We tried the shrimp egg and chive dumpling because it was listed as a top seller and the shrimp pork and fish roe dumplings. The shrimp and pork was our favorite, and we just wished it had a little more filling. I'm not sure what the hype is about the shrimp and egg dumpling, I thought it was average and the filling was a little loose. We also got the fish soup, which had a spicy sour taste. Upon walking in you will see a kiosk, that's for takeout only. I wasn't sure if it was self seating or table service, but for dine in, just walk past the kiosk and let the staff know you are dining in. It's like self seating, use QR code on table or grab your own menu by the kitchen. Very unorganized. They do come around and take your order... . For a dumpling place and to have the word dumpling in the name, you would think they have a lot of dumplings. Well, that wasn't the case, they had 6 different choices to choose from (and from the 6, they have 3 which can also be fried) Like, huh??? And some of their fillings are not your common ones either. Who orders corn & pork or zucchini & egg!?!? . I usually get pork and chives but they didn't have that, but rather pork and celery so that's what we ordered. Each order comes with 12 dumplings. . The dumpling itself was good but I can't say I liked the celery in the filling. It adds the crunch factor but do dumpling filling typically have a crunch factor? They do give a decent amount of filling. The dumpling shell/dough looks thick and all but it was actually very light to the bite and chew. Aside from the 6 variation of dumplings, they have 6 soup hotpots to choose from. . We got the braised Small Bones Combo Pot, comes with pork bones/meat, bean curd, braided egg and veggies. This was very good and you gotta get a bowl of rice (for $1) to eat with it. The ingredients are almost room temperature when it's brought out, it self heats so give it some time to come to a boil. i usually steer away from dumplings but its been a while so i gave this place a try and it was way better than i thought. got the shrimp chives and egg dumplings which were pretty solid. although not a fan of the mushy egg filling, chives are always great and each dumpling had a whole small shrimp inside which was fun. they have a self serve sauce station where u can concoct ur preferred mix of vinegar, soy sauce, spicy chili oil, and sesame oil. got the black sesame with rice balls dessert and probably wouldnt recommend. a bit pricier than expected but maybe these are considered premium dumplings read more

Solid restaurant that recently opened in Flushing offering spicy and nonspicy dumplings and small hot pots. I actually really enjoyed the egg zucchini dumplings (steamed) for a lighter option. The filling was likely pre-sautéed because it had a nice flavor without a dip. The fish broth was slightly sour and hot. A good portion to share with two plates of dumplings! Would recommend for a casual eat if you want something spicy or light! Heads up they don't have ice. They only have hot water or tap. I wouldn't be surprised as in China, lukewarm water is the standard however in the US, I do feel like ice is a staple!! read more

This place was just ok. I wouldn't go in with too high expectations but as some background info this is a dumpling chain that came from China. This is their first location in NY and they're about to open a second one in Manhattan too. I got the pan fried pork, shrimp, fish roe dumplings, steamed shrimp, Chives and egg dumplings and the beef with wood ear appetizer. The total came out to be about $40. It's pretty much $1 per dumpling but the dumplings aren't that big or bursting with filling. Both flavors were decent just mild flavors but nothing too amazing. I did like that pan fried was fried just enough to be crispy but not crazy crunchy so it didn't feel too oily. The quantity for the appetizer was so small though it was like 5 small slices of beef and then all wood ear. One thing to note is they only offer hot water and you get up to make your own dipping sauce in the back. Overall, I think there's better and cheaper dumplings in flushing but if you want somewhere to sit down and eat dumplings this isn't too bad. read more

This is a great place if you want to grab some dumplings. Their shrimp fish roe pork fried dumplings is really good. Their fish fillet with vegetables in a spicy and sour broth is also good. The spicy and sour broth wasn't as sour as others but still good . So if you do not like sour then you can give this a try. read more

Dumpling Xi is one of those spots that makes you want to come back again and again. Their dumplings are seriously some of the best in Flushing -- I only wish they had more non-pork options because I don't eat pork, but the shrimp dumplings are absolutely delicious and well worth it. The lotus flower noodles are a standout -- perfectly textured, refreshingly cool, and packed with flavor. I didn't expect to love them as much as I did! And of course, I had to add a marinated egg... because why not? It was the perfect extra bite. Service here is always quick and friendly, and we never have to wait long. Great food, great vibes, and an easy favorite for casual eats in the neighborhood. read more
