The place is well known and you might want to get reservations as it can get full quick around dinner time. But it is well worth the wait to get a table to eat. My family and I went to Eric's office a few weekends ago. We were a party of 9. When we arrived, we got a few drinks at the bar, and were seated within ten minutes, which was unexpected as the dining room is small. We ordered a bunch of appetizers, all of them were delicious. My favorite was the scallop appetizer. For dinner we all ordered an array of menu items. I ordered a shrimp, clam, scallop pasta dish, and it was absolutely delish. My boyfriend ordered chicken and riggies, and loved it. The special of the night was prime rib. A few people at the table ordered it and loved it. One of our favorites in Canandaigua. Very popular local spot... the bar is always busy. The food is always very good! The French onion soup is awesome (may be the garlic croutons?)... A must. If you like "Buffalo" style here's a tip: the sauce you are given with the sandwich or the buffalo shrimp is an extremely mild, buttered down version that is brought on the side. Not hot at all!! They will bring you hot sauce if you ask but in my opinion, anything ordered buffalo style should be given a choice of mild, medium or hot and NOT be on the side... rather come already on the entre. We heard about Eric's Office from a local who spoke highly of the restaurant and when my husband and I went there for dinner, we could see why. The service was excellent and super friendly. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The main dining area is small so we had to wait for a table. We waited at the bar and had a good conversation with the bartender. Once our table was ready we took our drinks to the table and enjoyed a very nice dinner. It's definitely a local hidden gem, so it gets busy on weekends and if you'd like to enjoy your meal without a large crowd, you may want to go early or late so you miss the dinner rush. read more

Not up to par last night. The prime rib was dry, tough and not freshly carved, also not "very" rare as I ordered. The baked potato was not hot enough for butter to melt. I am trying to be objective as I write, this; My not so great experience happened with in the last hour, so it's still fresh. I work in a Drs. office in Canandaigua once a week. We order fairly consistently from Eric's (including the last 3 weeks). I have had some food the is kind of blah (Chicken salad) and some that is fantastic (Fried pickles, Turkey Club wrap etc). They are usually very timely in their deliveries, which is very important. Usually we get about 13 minutes to eat in between patients. The problems are as follows; I order an open face rueben, they give me a spoon. I order fruit or coleslaw, I get no utensils. Ok, so they forgot a few times. I mentioned it on the phone while ordering; also asking for salt and pepper. I was informed that salt, pepper and napkins came with the plasticware. The non existent plasticware because they STILL forgot. Today, I placed my order; after about an hour and 10 mins, I hadn't received my meal. I called the restaraunt to check on the timing and they told me it had already been delivered. Interesting, because I had NOTHING... I paid, I gave them my cell phone #, but I had no food and no missed calls. They call me back to tell me they delivered it to "the front desk" and that they called. In my part of the building, there is no front desk; and once again.... I had 0 missed calls. I ask, "So you deliever something and you don't ask if it's the right place? You just drop it off?" The response I recieve is "I don't understand the attitude, can I bring something else to you?" I find it amazing that they don't understand that I would be upset that they delivered my PAID order to someone else.... and blamed it on ME!!!!! Yes, that was part of the conversation as well.... IF we order from them again, it will be quite some time from now and I will be having a conversation with the manager beforehand. read more

Excellent! This is the best restaurant in Canandaigua! The servers are always friendly and the food is outstanding. The chef has some of the best saute dishes I've ever tasted. I've dined in many restaurants over the years and have nothing but compliments about this gem of a restaurant. I spoke to the chef one time about how I liked my steak very rare and it's always perfect....every single time! I don't know how he always manages to get it right. My only wish is that they would make their own blue cheese dressing (all the others are home made). The veggies are always crisp and the salads are fresh. I also love the New England clam chowder that's served on Fridays. I would recommend any of the specials for dinner. They are all excellent! You won't be disappointed! We ordered take out tonight from Eric's office. We have a new born Son, so this weekend would have been difficult for my wife and I to enjoy a Valentines dinner out. Instead of ordering pizza or something quick, we love Eric's office and decided to give it a shot with take out. Now, I don't care how good your restaurant is, typically the food suffers getting from the restaurant to your home and out of the containers. When ordering take out, you expect a mediocre meal. Eric's Office killed it tonight. We enjoyed a hot and delicious meal in the comfort of our home. On top of all of it, they managed to get everything we ordered in the bags. Furthermore, the bartender may have been the nicest person in the industry I have ever met. I asked what desserts they had since I forgot to order them on the phone and she rattled them off. With so many to choose from, I asked if I could call my wife and have her repeat them. She wrote everything down for me instead to make it easier for my wife to choose. I have never ordered $90 in to-go food and had such a pleasurable experience. Typically it is a huge disappointment. Thanks for an awesome meal!!! read more

Disappointed. I have been here a couple years ago and loved the food and atmosphere. Drove 30 min out of the way to stop here yesterday for a late lunch. They only offered an in between menu which was a few appetizers, burgers, chicken sandwiches, or salad. I was really disappointed we missed the lunch menu by 5 min. We ordered buffalo shrimp appetizer that was so heavily battered you could hardly taste the shrimp. The sauce was on the side. We also ordered burgers. I had the bacon blue burger. It came with a small drop of creamy bleu cheese dressing and bacon. The burger was dry, the bun seemed stale. Overall I understand having a menu that allows staff to prepare for dinner but if you're going to do that wouldn't you put your best items on that menu? How hard is it to make a good burger? I wanted my husband to experience this place and we were both very disappointed. The bill was $51 for 2 burgers, buffalo shrimp appetizer, and 3 drafts. We left wishing we went to 5 guys instead. read more

We love Eric's Office. Food is delicious and fresh, the place is clean, and the staff goes above and beyond what they need to do to make your dining experience enjoyable. We prefer to go in mid-afternoon when it's less busy, but be aware that the lunch menu is not as varied as dinner. Nice selection of seasonal local craft beers, too! read more

very good experience. One of the most attentive staff in the area. Not only you got your main server, but there is also 2 other Jr. Serves flying by all the time checking all cool. From behind Manager monitors the entire room. It is a very small dining room and can feel crowded with no space, that is the only reason no 5 stars. The office restaurant is an excellent choice for anyone, they have a reasonably priced menu as well as high quality food. The staff as well as the owner take great pride in their restaurant. I have been to many restaurants and you almost feel like you're home when you come to this place. You are greeted warmly and well taken care of the entire time that you're there. They have phenomenal sandwiches and have gluten free options as well as gluten free bread on hand if you order a sandwich. They have a chocolate coffee tenderloin that is superb and again this can be made gluten free. I have an extreme gluten allergy and they take care of me very well and I've never had a problem from them. Plus they will deliver and I take advantage of this at least once a week if not twice. read more

We ordered the calamari appetizer and it was excellent, although slightly over cooked, the chunky marinara sauce that came with it made it even better. I ordered the Haddock Italiano and it was the best I've ever had. My daughter ordered the chicken wings and she said they were good, and we're from Western NY, so we know good wings. So disappointed!! My dad and I have frequented this restaurant many times in the past two years, and we have always enjoyed delicious food and great, friendly service. But, tonight is another story. We had reservations for 5:30 p.m. and walked in at 5:23. We were seated right away (if having the hostess point to a table in the back of the restaurant and say that's your table, is being seated), a young man filled our water glasses right away and was very pleasant. We then proceeded to wait 15 minutes, while other tables were placing their drink orders, when I approached the hostess and told her that I think we might have been forgotten. She said nothing to me and turned away in a hurry. I went back to my seat, and almost immediately the hostess and waitress came to our table "explaining" that the other tables being waited on were not in our waitresses area, and that our waitress was busy taking an order from a large party next to us (5 people). We felt like we were being reprimanded for speaking up! NO apology! The waitress then took our order....not very friendly! Drinks, soup and entrees were delicious (as the food always has been the best part of the dining experience at this particular restaurant). The waitress was nice for the rest of our time there, but she never came over to check on us or ask us how are food was. And, to top it off, the waitress never asked us if we wanted desert...just left the check with us. Just before we left, another table of about 6 people sat down in her section, and she was over there taking drink orders, chatting and laughing (within one or two minutes of them being seated) with those patrons. We thought at the very least, the owner would come over and apologize and possible offer us free coffee and dessert for our troubles. But, no!!! So disappointed!! we found Eric's year's ago and it's become our go-to place for out of town guests. we just finished a family birthday party for eight there tonight (a Saturday) and the food was it's usual outstanding, service (consistently attentive) was prompt and helpful and we we in and out in little over an hour. we drive in from Rochester and see every trip as a special night out where the locals know where to dine.
