They are following COVID rules and they have a few of there own. One that was a big disappointment was the sign on the table highlighted that they would like to have you sit order and out for the next person in a hour! Now I do not know how long it takes for us to order a drink, read a menu, of a place I have never been, order, get the food and eat. Sometimes desert is in the line up and again as I described above. That was a turn off but wr kinfa under stood the reasoning. They did not give much time to make a decision on drinks but we asked questions about wine. I took the time to look up the one my husband was looking for as the server kept pointing at her list. But we did not know the name so I had to look it up. Conversaion went side ways. He ordered one off the list he knew. I think she was getting the idea we were the the paying customer! So we order and the drinks came. We took a minute to ordrr or food sense we were not familiar with it. Still the server was being quick about the place. Maybre she was the owner. The drink tasted like bad water. Awful. My husband tryed it to make sure and I new it was not me, COVID scare there. Lol. She asked me what I thought it needed. Then pirked up and said it was not the Vodka because he pours I. Good shoots. They gixed it and I was good after she changed the ingredents. Maybe bad soda. I had to ask for a bar straw but due to the orders by the "King" that was a no go but she offered a straw with a wrapper lol. Food was tasty. Small menu. When she returned she asked about desert then if wr needed a refill. We said yes. She left the Bill and we were ready to pay right away as we finished up. A someone came for the Bill then she comes back with the Bill and said she forgot the last too drinks and explained it all to us. We just shook our heads and said OK. This is a must stop for lunch if you're in Canandaigua. The dining area is a little small but we were still able get a table right away. I think we may have been lucky. The decor is cute, old time rustic like. Our waitress was amazing. Checked on us multiple times. They let me special order my grilled cheese... Well I added bacon. We never had to search for anything though, she was always on top of it all. I ordered the grilled cheese and added bacon with a side of French onion soup. There was a slight up charge for the soup as expected. The soup was delicious with the perfect amount of cheese and lots of onions. The grilled cheese was good. Hard to mess up grilled cheese though. My coworker got a chicken cesar salad and could only finish half it was so large! We will definitely keep this in rotation of lunch spots for my work trips to Canandaigua! read more

Hands down the best Beef Tenderloin Steak I've had !! We started out with the famous Eric's wings -country sweet- OMG!! they were the best chicken wings I've ever had. My daughter had the French onion soup, it was delicious. For dinner she had the rockfish, which was phenomenal. Our friend had the ribs and macaroni and cheese. This is My new favorite restaurant and will be a weekly dining out experience. You can pick bar food or fine dining. It's all good. The cocktails are delicious and inexpensive. We finished out meal with desserts. Apple crumb pie. Decadent fudge brownie. This gets a "10" The atmosphere is casual and you can sit outside or dine inside. The food is amazing, or it was the first two times we went. We visited on 6/14 and left before we could even order our drinks. It is a very crowded restaurant where you're basically elbow to elbow with other tables but that can be dealt with for the food. Also both times previously we've had slow service but it wasn't a huge issue and didn't do anything to impede on our enjoyment of the fare. The reason we left on Saturday is when we walked in and awkwardly stood at the entrance to the dining area to be seated we had a waitress different than the two times previously. Again no big deal; until she walked right past us more than once without acknowledging us. Then she proceeded to yell out to us that there were two tables RIGHT THERE. Okay, but in a packed dining room with no acknowledgement we didn't want to just sit right down. We sat down and my boyfriend tried twice to tell this waitress hello and she didn't acknowledge him. She then proceeded to throw the menu on top of my hands. That's when I was through with it, their food is good but I could tell from the atmosphere and attitude that we weren't getting good service. We hadn't ordered so I told my boyfriend we hadn't committed or bought anything and we were leaving. Came here for lunch while in the neighborhood for work. It was a good experience. Full menu and quite a nice bar setup. The decor is old time signs that are probably from original old school canandaigua. We got a table right away and the distance between the table to the seat back was tiny. I ordered a burger and it was pretty good. Cooked proper medium rare as ordered and the toppings and bun were pretty good too. Service was also excellent. A hidden gem in Canandaigua. Really hidden, because I've driven through Canandaigua for years and years and I never even knew it existed until my parents suggested we meet for dinner. Eric's Office is a small little restaurant that is well-known for its lunchtime offerings, but I was pretty satisfied with dinner as well. The dining room is small and seating is limited, so be prepared to wait on evenings and weekends. The menu is a good mix of traditional dinner options (think chicken, steak, seafood) and pub fare (burgers, wings, etc). I started with a crock of French onion soup and holy guacamole I could've just eaten a couple crocks of that for dinner and called it a night - it was one of the best French onion soups I've ever had (and I'm a French onion soup aficionado/#1 fan). My main plate of chicken riggies kinda paled in comparison to that phenomenal soup. The riggies weren't spicy enough for my liking, but maybe my taste buds were still fawning over the soup. Either way, I'll definitely be back to explore the rest of what this little place has to offer. read more

My mom had the haddock and I was jealous I did not get that because it looked amazing. I had buffalo wings cause it's rare I get good wings. They were just as good as Duffs or La Novas. This has been a family favorite for many decades. Don't let the outside fool you- this is a family owned restaurant with excellent service. They have the best fish fry in town, excellent pastas, and all of your traditional bar food favorites. They also carry an excellent selection of local wines and beer. I make the drive from Rochester a few times a month and order more food than I need because I get tired of cooking for myself during Covid. I'm also looking forward to having them cater thanksgiving for our family this year. read more

This is just the nicest spot and always so great! I sometimes take my 88-year-old mom there who just loves the place. What is amazing is that someone from the restaurant will always see us trying to come in and will come out and offer to help. It was just great to go here and have a normal sit down meal. Everyone in the restaurant had the max covid precautions, table separation, and masked like crazy. What I really wanted to say was that I had the veal parm and man was that done just perfectly. It was a totally old school just as I remembered and so very delicious. Mom had the crab cakes which were really great, so yummy, they had a little mushroom and bacon sauce, which I liked. The cakes are yummy and could easily stand on their own. Use this place for take out and then reheat - my leftovers came out great. So let's keep Eric's rolling along! read more

Usually have been very impressed with this restaurant. Last time we went though, was not impressed at all. First the tables were so close, I could hardly move my chair out. The acoustics made it very difficult to hear anything. The waitress was friendly but made us wait almost 15 minutes after initially greeting us. It was a Friday night, but not an excuse for that long of a period of time. She came back as if we hadn't been waiting at all, with a huge smile on her face and no apology. It was annoying. I had brought my 8 y/o daughter with me and my friend had her 8 y/o daughter also. They did play with their toys and got up a couple of times out of their seat to pick up toys or talk to each other. The owner came over and reprimanded them/us. I am not a fan of children misbehaving in restaurants but they were being normal kids IMO. Paid $20 for Chicken French-super bland. Would possibly go again, but for wings or a cheaper item and not with kids. read more

What a lovely restaurant. We came in after a baseball game. The greeter was friendly, the bartender very nice. We sat down within 10 minutes in their cozy dining room that isn't big but didn't feel overcrowded and wasn't too noisy. We started with chicken wings. Delish. The French onion soup was some of the best I have had. The cowboy steak was absolutely tender and so delicious. My son had a giant hamburger and a bowl of soup. And the chicken French was wonderful. The portions were large and a good price. I can't say enough about the service. Fast, friendly, everything was correct. Our waitress was so good, even my 13 year old noticed. We were sorry only that we were too full to try the scrumptious desserts we saw listed. Next time! read more

The bartender (whose name is escaping me) was extremely friendly and offered us some good insider tips for navigating parking at the venue. An unusual place but with good food. I am not sure what this restaurant is trying to be, upscale dining, family friendly or tap house. The atmosphere defiantly suffers from a split personality, with the rubber table clothes covered in old ads that your Grandma would use on the kids table for Sunday dinner and walls covered with local signage, ala Applebee's. That said, the food has nothing in common with Applebee's. The menu has a similar disjointed personality, with item ranging from Coffee chocolate rubbed beef tenderloin (very good) and scallops, to burgers and onion rings. But although the menu is diverse, the food was excellent. We had the aforementioned chocolate beef and Sea Food Bisque as an appetizer and Prime Rib and a Scallop Caprese Salad as our entrees. All were wonderful and I would defiantly have again. (mashed potatoes were a little bland for my taste but that may be an idiosyncrasy) They also had a sizable wine list with many local wines to choose form. I will say that my "jack and coke" was pretty week but that is about my only criticism of the fare here. I should also comment that the service was outstanding. The staff was attentive and stop backed frequently to check on us despite the fact that their was not a seat to be had in the house. They also helped each other out instead of just working their own tables. All and all a great dining experience. I would recommend making a reservation. Locals told us this place was great and even had outdoor seating. Upon arrival, the building was unassuming and the outdoor seating was a covered sidewalk overlooking the parking lot...we weren't sure we were at the right place. But when we walked in we were amazed...not by the decore but by the staff. Everyone was very friendly and made a point of saying hello....and that was only the beginning! The food was amazing and plated well! We started off with hot chicken wings which were perfect (don't worry...they have a lot of "classier" apps but I love wings!). They were crispy and spicy and tender inside! But that's not all! The celery and carrots served with them were fresh and crisp! Both my wife and I had the French onion soup and were very pleased. For dinner, she had the steak salad which was huge, steak cooked perfectly, and extremely fresh. She loved it and made 2 meals out of it. I decided on the chicken Parmesan which was 2 large breasts and a bowl of spaghetti that was a meal in itself! It was all perfectly done and presented well. Let's not forget the staff....they were friendly, professional, efficient...and all of the other positive adjectives you can think of. I very rarely give a glowing review but Eric's deserve it. Went to Eric's Office based on reviews from Trip Advisor. We were looking for a place to grab a quick meal in Canandaigua before heading to a Wedding in Naples. DW and I both ordered the Buffalo Chicken Wrap and DD enjoyed her Grilled Cheese sandwich. All of the food was very fresh and tasted excellent. They also had a decent selection of beer on tap (about 6 - 8 beers) I enjoyed a Saranac Pale Ale with my lunch. Our only complaint (and why it ended up with 4 stars) is that the service was extremely slow. I'm not sure if our experience is par for the course but when we first arrived there was one waitress attempting to service the entire dining room which was close to full. While we were eating another waiter came along to help but it seemed to be too little too late. All in all we'd probably go back, I would hope that this was just a one off bad experience with the slow service and would give them a shot to redeem themselves. read more

This is one of those funky little hometown eateries where everyone knows your name. Eric's has a bar in the entry way and you have to wait a few minutes until your eyes adjust to the dark interior. Toward the back is restaurant seating with a few tables and booths. I had one of the sandwiches on the "specials" sheet: Garlic Chicken Sandwich. It was a moist chicken breast on a really nice seasoned whole wheat roll. Not overly garlicy and served with a side of crispy fries. A satisfying lunch. read more
