Over the weekend I took a state course at a community college for my license & our instructors bought our class Eriks. I LOVEEEDD this place! The first day I ordered the turkey pesto without onions. The huge portions that Erik's gave us was unbeatable. The healthy ingredients and the options there were for a sandwhich/deli shop were out of this world. I loved seeing all the mixes and creations we could put together. There were more basic sandwhiches but then some turned into mediterranean samples or an altogether veggie option. The salads they served were huge. The second day I ordered half salad and half sandwhich combo with the cesar and chicken pesto. It didn't leave me feeling hungry- it was just the perfect amount The customer service st Erik's was so accommodating and the history behind the franchise is so inspiring and can be felt as part of the community. We stopped to pick up a couple of soups. Staff was pretty friendly and they have one neutral gender bathroom in the back. We bought a "pot" container each of the tomato basil and chicken rice soup. The size was 16 oz a container for almost $10 each and came with a slice of baguette and saltine crackers. The tomato soup was very good but salty. Came here on a Monday afternoon and the place was very quiet. I wanted to try the soups here and I got the claim chowder and chicken vegetable rice. I loved the claim chowder and it had great flavor but the chicken vegetable rice did not taste good. The meat did not taste like chicken but had this tuna taste. Not sure if they use a seafood broth but would not recommend that soup. read more

Thursday evening with my dog, about to go home, feeling hungry, I think I'll order Erik's. Open up the app, select the Cali Clasico (because it gives triple points right now in the app!) and modify it with a couple things. Boom, done. I walk the dog for a about 6 minutes. Pop into Erik's, there's my sandwich, thank the lovely crew (they are the nicest). Dog goes nuts over the smell. I go nuts over the smell. Drive home. Savor the moment and sit down, take out the sandwich and drop my jaw at the beauty of this thing. I mean it was just perfectly composed, including the additions I made in the app (add sprouts, add pepperoncini, side of goo), perfectly executed. It is delicious. Thank you Erik's Deli crew that made me this sandwich on Thursday 1/12/2023 at time much quicker than the estimated time of 5:49pm. You made my night. I regret I didn't tip better. Maybe next week? I like Erik's Deli , but this one in Rancho Del Mar in Aptos is the best one ! Always great service and consistently delicious . Today my husband picked up my take out order I made in the App . I ordered the SOURDOUGH BOWL CLAM CHOWDER SOUP AND HOUSE SALAD COMBO . I was gladly surprised when I opened the bag at home and the bread bowl was still warm and crunchy , the soup very hot and creamy and the house salad , a very good size ( bigger than it looks in the pic ) , with mixed greens , tomatoes , cucumbers , sprouts and croutons . I love this place! Sure, I like all the Erik's Delis for their yummy sandos, but this particular location is my absolute favorite. The food is always perfect and made promptly. The service there is always amazing, I love how friendly and welcoming the staff are whenever I come in for my weekly Abbott's Habit! Service is #1 for me, and for this reason I'll always be back to this place. The last couple of times I ordered, they even drew a heart and smiley face on my sandwich wrapper... sometimes, it's the small details that can be impressive. Very upset - DO NOT order online using the eriksdelicafe.com link. We have been ordering here instead of using Door Dash because we want to support the local store. We thought we were supporting the local franchise owner. Today, our order was WRONG - it was dripping Chinese food and 25% in value/size vs. what we ordered from Erik's (we almost thought to just accept the mistake and eat the Chinese food). When I called the # on the receipt, which is Erik's Aptos location, and explained the situation, the person on the food was adamant they do not do delivery service, and obviously, they don't sell Chinese food, so I must have ordered from Door Dash. I. DID. NOT!!! I ordered directly on the eriksdelicafe.com site. It's even linked on the Yelp page here. It turns out Erik's uses some service called Olo. But there is no way to contact Olo as a consumer and request a refund. The receipt actually says call the original store and has the store's number. We did, and were told we were crazy. Even the Olo help pages said to contact the original store. It makes no sense if this was a Door Dash service that they would make the consumer call the store. Olo is a third-party service, but it's licensed by Erik's and Erik's is responsible for the screwed up door. I've been tipping well each time we've ordered thinking it was an Erik's employee. I'd ask for a refund, but there's nowhere to ask for it. They better not spit in my food next time when I escalate this issue! read more

The service at Aptos Erik's Deli is amazing. Wonderful people. I have been going to Erik's Deli since it was only at Scotts Valley with the original founder- Erik. I am disappointed with the product I have been served. The sandwiches in the past few months have had very little meat and vegetables in them.The pockets breads are barely filled. Everything seems to be just sprinkled in. I have resorted to asking for extra sprouts or whatever. I hope they step it up to match their prices. They have a wall of cubbies at the end of the counter with all of the online orders so I walked in, picked up my order and left within 2 minutes, so convenient! My favorite sandwich is the Pilgrim's Progress. It's basically turkey avocado but the bread and secret "goo" really makes it! This Erik's location is pretty standard compared to others. Today, in this heat, my body was craving crisp, cool, clean, crunchy greens. I searched and searched, and discovered this amazing salad right on my own backyard! Rosie and Carlos built me my beautiful creation, adding my requested onions and sunflower seeds, and packed it beautifully for me to enjoy in my own home. What a delightful sensory experience..... it was just what a craved and better than anything I could have made at home. And as an adult, ever since these new owners came in, they had been exceptionally amazing in regards to their food and stellar customer service. Well, I hadnt been in awhile, due to less then stellar food. Today in my email, I had received a half off coupon. So I thought Id give them another chance. First off, no one greeted me when I came into the door and they were not busy with customers. It was a call and order so I picked it up and I left. No big deal. However once I tried to eat my sandwich, the sprouts most of them are brown And a turkey pesto sandwich is supposed to have pesto on it. There was maybe a sliver of pesto gobs of mayonnaise so I threw it away. It's really too bad because I don't feel that we have too many good restaurants around here. This was one of the regional erik's deli chain locations this one long owned by a local franchisee. As this is located in a sizeable strip mall thingy there is an ocean of parking. There will always be a spot in that fairly massive surface lot. Parking right up front may not be totally feasible as it's tucked away in a corner and also because this is northern california. But mostly the corner location. Anywhoo as this is one of the older erik's the inside decor is very old school rustic. Think 1980's diner decor. Lots of dark wood and lower lighting except by the order counter-the lighting by the counter is emergency room bright. Lots of low tables -this restaurant is on the medium to large size dining room-again with a focus on dark wood/rustic effects. There is some window seating but the view is of the walk in from the parking lot and is thus unremarkable. Not the best spot for people watching. The menu is your fairly typical soup and sandwich combos. Nothing really handmade-it all seems to be of the comes of the back of semi truck costco style stuff, but you can do a lot of customization, and if the menu isn't terribly creative it's on the cost effective side of the ledger. A cup of soup, half a sandwich, a drink and a pickle or a cookie comes in at around eight dollars, somewhat less then the area standard. It's a decent, unremarkable, fairly priced, mellow lunch option. read more

Kitchen staff was done preparing our food before I even left the counter, chatting with the cashier. They took the time to pay attention to the little details, thank you. Other staff kept up with the tables, AND with a smile and hello. Why does it feel weird when we get great customer service nowadays?! My squash soup was yummy and not too salty; loved all the choices, and serving sizes. The half sandwich for my little guy was just right, but may not be enough for hardy eaters.
