This place is definitely worth checking out! Fair warning now, HUGE PORTIONS!!! Come super hungry or be prepared to maybe share an entree. I only got halfway through my sandwich before I called it quits. I got the bacon chicken ranch sandwich and be prepared for how massive it is if you get it. The patty was really delicious!!! Had a great experience at Eris Vegan Food today. The owner was welcoming and recommended a few of the favorite menu items as soon as we entered. My wife and I order the Reuben sandwich and Philly Cheesesteak, and quesadilla for the kids. Protein was made with seitan and house made. The food was made to order and served hot! Everything we tried was delicious and loaded with flavor. I was also impressed with how kid friendly this place was. There was a shelf with children's books and a shaded sandbox in the outdoor seating area, suitable for little ones to enjoy while you wait for your food (or if they aren't interested in eating at all). We are not vegan, but we do like to eat healthy. It's probably the best vegan food we've ever had. I have absolutely loved a carne asada bowl. I've had the Havana Bowl which was alto excellent. Okay, my husband and I occasionally do vegan diet. We wanted to try a new spot, so we came here. It is expensive very expensive $100 drinks and meals for my husband and I and it was just lunch. The owner/chef was super welcoming. There were others in the restaurant and the owner/chef stayed busy but not too busy to check on his customers and answer any questions. I appreciated everything about the restaurant. It's smallish (inside) with patio seating. It's colorfully decorated and offers a laid back vibe. I walked from the Transit Center because I wasn't sure about the parking situation in the area on a Saturday. It was a short walk and the day was gorgeous. From the moment you step into Eris you feel welcome. Scott, the owner, is right there to greet you with a smile, provide recommendations, and just chat when he has the time. The space he's curated feels very intentional and is a breath of fresh air in a time where it feels like there's a lack of third spaces. It's a place where you can just grab a drink or a meal and sit down and relax. The menu has a lot to choose from and everything sounds and looks amazing! I've been a vegetarian my entire life and outside of Asian cuisine it's hard to find good, FLAVORFUL, vegetarian food. Eris knocks it out of the park with both concept and execution. I felt like I was being served a home-cooked meal by someone who doesn't just care about what the plate looks like, but what the food tastes like. We ordered the "Chicken" Parm Plate (a special that day), the Santo Chorizo Burger, and a lavender hibiscus lemonade mix. The drink was out immediately and was refreshingly exactly what the name promised. The food came out shortly after and the hunger soon followed. Yes, the food is a bit pricey (eating out in general is these days), but the generous portions more than make up for it. Your eyes will be writing a check your stomach can't cash and you will likely have leftovers (I know we did). The "chicken" was my favorite part of the meal, but I would easily recommend either. This place is a not so hidden vegan gem in Oceanside. The food is amazing and the house made sauces are mouth watering! I went with my boyfriend and we shared 3 dishes because we couldn't choose just one! My favorites were the monster fries and the chikun bakun ranch sandwich. The inside is a little small but they have a large outside eating area. The staff are always friendly and the service was pretty quick for the amount of food we ordered. Have been here a couple times now. Scott the owner is super chill and easy going, the place itself is very eclectic with fun art and board games, def very oside vibes. There's also an outdoor patio that is pretty big. As a non vegan I enjoy Scott's place especially the pizza and desserts. The chicken sandwich is really good as well. My wife and I have walked by this place a couple of times and finally decided to give it a try. The owner is very passionate about his vegan dishes (which is all the restaurant serves) and convinced us to try his lasagna bolognese along with the Havana Affair Bowl that we were keen to have. Both dishes were really good and substantial --- so much so that we took part of the lasagna home. It was just too much to eat at one go. Of the two dishes, the lasagna was my favorite. Rich, filling, flavorful. If you're not vegan (and I'm not), you'll find it difficult to believe that this is a vegan lasagna dish. The ambiance of the restaurant is relaxed, funky, casual. Super cool all vegan restaurant!! My parents were visiting from Ventura and I live down in San Diego and we just trekked up to Oceanside specifically for this food! Their portions are huge and everything is homemade! It's all super delicious and I want to come back as often as I can to keep the trying the different menu items. I also had heard from the @VeganInSanDiego Instagram account that they made their own Cola so I had to order it. I don't even like Coke, but I knew I would like their homemade version! It was amazing, so much flavor and so refreshing! I went for dinner and I loved the low lighting and low music, it was very cozy inside. Walking into Eris reminds me of walking into grandma's kitchen. You know you will be taken care of and that the food will be delicious. Vegan Comfort food? No way! First thing that happened was that Scott greeted me and my family at the door as we walked in. He introduced himself and asked each of our names memorizing them immediately. He went over the menu with us in great detail. He then asked each of us by name what we wanted to order. Wow! Then it gets better. The food was not only beyond delicious, but the portions were enough to feed the Incredible Hulk! I swear that we each walked out with more than half hour meals. Could not finish it all. We used to eat here regularly when we lived here and make it a point to always stop by to get our Eris fix on when we're in town. This used to be a regular stop on my 30 mile bike rides and biking in and out was a Breeze. We're fans of any food Scott creates and love the food and ambiance here. We will continue to follow him to wherever he goes and have been fans of his at various establishments. My go to is the Fysh tacos on gluten free homemade tortillas. The coleslaw on top really makes this dish, and I could eat just that alone!Scott always has some great specials or a recommendation for something new to try, too. The food comes out quickly and there's always a good vibe and great decor. When expansion is being considered, I'm hoping for some version of this to pop up in the Knoxville area. :) Sadly, Scott wasn't in the shop during this visit, but I have no doubt we'll see him again. read more

I want to give this restaurant high props. I'm not a vegan but met my vegan menu oriented friends here recently and gave it a try. I was hesitant to try the vegan chicken parm but was pleasantly surprised. The taste was really good and I'm not an easy person to please with foods out of my comfort zone. My friends were very happy with their meals too and it was a lot of food! Another meals worth of leftovers. The service was great too.
