    Jughead Burger & The Reuben
    Tanya G.

Enjoyed our couple visits here, and value the thought that has been put into the ingredients in the food. Met the Owner and talked for a while; he is unapologetically vegan, and stands behind his food. A couple came in, looked at the menu, and said "oh, we didn't know you were vegan"...his response, "it's not for everyone, have a nice day", and they left. If you're not willing to try something that's good for you, and better for the planet, there's no sense in wasting time talking about it. The prices are fair, and the food is delicious with good proportions. They do not offer water, only their specialty in house drinks and some drinks in the cooler. If you want water, bring it with ya. The ambiance is "old school deli" and the outside could use some cleaning as it seems untouched for a long time. Overall, love the food!

    SUPER GYRO

My family isn't vegan, but they requested to eat at Eris twice in one weekend. That's how delicious the food is! The portions are huge and the service is beyond amazing. We had The Reuben, the Super Gyro, tacos and a burger with fries-all 5/5 stars. If you're ever in Oceanside, it's just a 5 minute or less walk from the beach, and the vibe is very laid back and inviting. Highly recommend!

I'm afraid I have to reduce a star based on my second visit. I've craved the sweet potato tacos since my first visit but this trip they were seeping in oil. I tried hard to keep eating them but I just couldn't. My first experience having the tacos was nothing like this. I'll stick to the Havana bowl from now on. Or request no oil (if possible???) if I think about ordering the sweet potato tacos again. I did feel undervalued when I shared why I didn't want a togo box for my remaining taco...I stated it was too much oil, and the reply I got from the owner was, "my food isn't healthy." with a bit of unpleasant and snippy tone. I wasn't trying to be rude, but sincere in my personal experience with the dish... I know not everyone's palate is the same. I'm sorry he might not have liked my feedback, but the response and tone was not well received. Hopefully future visits will + another

A vegan restaurant with a five star rating had me curious, so I knew I couldn't pass through Oceanside without checking out Eris. Walked in and Scott, who turned out to be the owner, greeted me right away. He was having one of those genuinely warm conversations with a local customer that immediately told me what kind of place this was. Small town feel, nostalgic vibe, board games on the shelves, the whole thing. I let Scott know I was just passing through and asked what he'd recommend. He said the Bam Bam Burger without hesitation. He was right. That burger is the GOAT. Massive, well seasoned, and you could taste the love that went into it. Eris has absolutely earned that five star rating. Already counting down to my next trip through Oceanside to try more of the menu.

This place is a gem! Scott the owner was so welcoming and helped us choose from the delicious variety of items his place has to offer. Aside from the variety the food is so well plated, with magnificent aromas, and most of all insane delectable flavors!!! I had the Chickn Parm and may I say that the portions were huge!!!! Scott said that vegan food is already expensive, it sucks when you pay that much and you're still hungry. So he makes everything from scratch and gives big portions! So I was full and had some left for the next day. You will not be disappointed!

OH MY GOD!!! One of the best meals I have had in a long time! The team there is so friendly and makes you feel like you are family right away! Such a fun and non-pretentious vibe with some incredible food that comes out so fresh. - Rueben (10/10, my favorite, so much diversity of flavor) - lasagna (9/10, great flavor!) - French dip (9/10, soo tasty and the au jus was great) - carne asada bowl (9.5/10 so much in the bowl and flavors packed a punch) - yippee Kay yay burger (8/10 really great, strong bbq flavor ) Can't wait to come back!

Another great experience at Eris! This time we had the Philly Cheesesteak- so moist. Warm on pretzel bun with melted cheese and onions. Delicious. The yippie ka yay burger was also so amazing! Pretzel bun with bbq bacon goodness. So great to get to meet the owner Scott. The mastermind behind the recipes, ingredients and amazing home cooked welcome back family feel place.

Tarzan made it a 10x experience from an already 10x experience. There are so many incredible options to choose from on this menu. I think we did a pretty damn good job though. The Not Chickn Gyro, Brutus Pizza, & the Triple Taco Platter was absolutely stellar. Along with the entrees, their vanilla bean ice cream, peach cobbler, chocolate cake, & root beer float were so tasty. Each dish had such unique flavor that made it stand out above almost any other restaurant that makes comfort food like this. I personally believe from a creative aspect, overall flavor & presentation (even the price) that the Chickn Gyro was the most incredible item on the menu! I can't wait to go back & order more of the Tacos. They make everything from scratch, including their cheeses & most impressively their Seitan; FROM SCRATCH! I don't even like Seitan, until now. Their sodas are tasty delicious & worth a try. The root beer & ginger soda was our favorite. Plenty of parking around the block & the service (provided by Tarzan) was some of the best service I've EVER experienced at any restaurant I've ever been too (this includes fine dining, cafes, diners, etcetera). Thank you Team Eris (look up the Greek Goddess Eris). Grateful for your space & delicious comfort food.

Being an aspiring vegan in the city of Oceanside is rather difficult, due to the lack of dining options. So I was excited when I found out about this hole in the wall called Eris food Co. Eris Food Co. is slinging some of the best vegan dishes you'll ever have west of the 5 Hwy in Oceanside, located on Wisconsin Ave on the corner of S Tremont St. Dine in an immersive & unique artsy interior and experience their fantastic service. Although there are only a few tables inside, they have an open space outdoor patio with plenty of tables and a peaceful ambience. They're great for enjoying healthy snacks, scrumptious pastries and vegan dishes. Because they were formerly located within a kombucha cafe, they carry many drink flavors & their food specials change daily. With an alternating menu that features flatbreads, lasagna, meatloaf, Mac n Cheese, burgers, tacos, ramen, sandwiches, rice bowls, salads and more, you're bound to discover some new favorite dishes. So next time you're looking for some delicious food, you should head down to the Eris Food Co. to experience how this establishment sets a great standard for vegan dining.

Eris food is worth the trip to Oceanside on its own. A vegan restaurant with a wide variety of choices and a variety of styles. I have brought a friend with Alpha gal disease, and he said it was the first time he felt he could eat carne asada in over a decade, I've brought vegan friends who have said its one of the best vegan places they've been to in years. I have brought vegetable eschewing carnivores who didn't even realize the place was vegetarian. The ambiance of the place is pure California with a funky decor and a lovely outdoor area. In addition, Scott, the man who runs the place is friendly, talkative and makes you feel at home. I strongly recommend a visit.

Wow wow wow!! First and foremost I want to say a huge thank you to the owner, Scott. He went above and beyond to accommodate me. My fiancé thankfully doesn't have any allergies but unfortunately I do. Scott DOES have soy free options, but the oil for cooking does contain soy. I want to point this out for anyone else who like me has a legit soy allergy! That being said, Scott thanked me for bringing that to his attention when I asked about the oil and he said, "don't worry! We will make it work!" He ended up making me such a delicious and fresh bowl! It contained yams, avocado, rice and beans!! And he made a special sauce for it and handled everything in the kitchen for me to make sure it was safe and had no contact with soy! It was soooo good! I couldn't finish it all but he provided a box for me so I could take the rest back to our hotel! When I asked if I could pay for more yams, he said "you won't be paying! It's my gift to you!" Scott is what every business owner should be: kind, caring and dedicated. You can tell he takes pride in his business! From the moment we walked in we were welcomed with open arms. He politely introduced himself, asked our names and told us about his restaurant. He made us feel welcomed. Truly. He also didn't make me feel annoying for asking about allergens!! The fact he went above and beyond spoke volumes. He also said whenever we're back in town to call ahead of time and he'd personally get a safe oil for me. How sweet is that?!! Last but not least, I do want to say my fiancé tried both the Ruben sandwich and the chicken Parmesan. He loved both!! Thank you again, Scott. We wish you were located in LA... but when we visit again we'll definitely stop by! Other notes: - The ambiance is so nice. Very chill, stylish and homey - The bathroom is extremely clean - The seating is comfortable - There's artwork available to purchase!

My wife and I stopped by Eris in Oceanside on 3/14 and absolutely loved it. The place is small but full of character -- local artists' work on the walls, pop culture decorations, and a really welcoming, community-forward vibe. The owner took our order and was incredibly friendly, helpful, and informative. He described all of the dishes and you can tell he genuinely loves his resturant and what he's doing there. At one point he mentioned that he's proud of the portions because he thinks a lot of vegan resturants tend to skimp a little. He was absolutely right to be proud. I had the French Dip and it was honestly one of the best sandwiches I've had. The stek was sliced thin and really tasty, the cheze in the sandwich was perfectly gooey (which is rare for plant based cheze), and the aujus was the real star. I've honestly had nothing like it before. It was also a really hearty portion and super filling. My wife had the Jambi sandwich -- a hash brown wafflle with fried chikun, sunflower swiss, seitan bakon between two pieces of french toast -- plus chili fries on the side. The sandwich itself was impressively big and definitely lived up to the owner's point about portions. We've both been vegan for about 10 years and always appreciate finding places doing creative food like this. We live about an hour and a half away, but we're already figuring out when we can make the trek back for another visit.

We also ordered a pasta as an appetizer and asked the waiter if it could be split in the kitchen. I wanted spaghetti but was told they don't serve it. The good news is they did accommodate my request for linguini. The disappointing part was that they refused to split the appetizer in the kitchen and instead brought me an empty plate so I could divide it myself. At these prices, that's not the level of service I expected. My husband and I both ordered calzones. As someone from New York, I was surprised to receive what were essentially flatbread pizzas with limited toppings on top rather than traditional calzones, which are usually stuffed with the ingredients listed on the menu. It wasn't what we expected. On a Friday night there was no live music, despite the atmosphere suggesting there might be. When we asked why, we were told its only on Wednesday night. The service was average, the food was just okay, and I was also charged an extra $6 for substituting linguini. Overall, this restaurant didn't live up to the reviews, and unfortunately, I won't be returning.

The pasta was smaller than before, still only 5 pieces of pasta, at $30+ for this ouch! Even after my discount $20+ was still not worth it. Bummer. The other time I had this dish it was all so good, the sauce and prosciutto etc. I am not saying we won't ever return, service is great. Looked over reviews, yes it's cramped inside and you are on top of others unless you get the booth, so I recommend the booth. We enjoyed our dine in experience time ago, only the chicken ravioli was gross, the soup was just ok but the rest was great. After today's experience I won't be repeating the tortellini. Maybe calamari and pizza next visit, but pasta portions n flavor lack too much to attempt other dishes. Just my thoughts. Again great staff!
