Made an online purchase of a t-shirt. My husband and I relocated out of state and he loved the t-shirts from here so I bought one for Father's Day gift. I don't know if they switched manufacturers for the tshirt but it was too small and I purchased the same size as usual. I have sent at least 2 emails and called twice and no one has answered either one. Now I'm stuck with a $50 plus dollar tshirt that I can do anything with and no money back. Esteem is an awesome little surf shop in Pismo Beach just a few blocks from the beach. They have a wide variety of apparel, surfboards, hats, and gifts, as well an awesome coffee shop located inside of the shop with delicious coffee! The best part is the Not L.A., Not the Bay motto. Located on the corner of Cypress St. and Hinds Ave. next to Hoagies and near the beach. We were walking by looking for coffee and walked in this Surf Store which also serves coffee. We ordered a couple of their 'Drip' coffee. The coffee was good, freshly brewed and super hot. Service was ok. There's a couple seats at the counter if you'd like to enjoy your coffee there, but we continued walking towards the pier. Overall, we had a good experience here. read more

Put them on the map! A cute little coffee shop inside a rad surf shop. The coffee menu is unique and nothing I've ever had before. I enjoyed the smoked americano. It lived up to the show. I ordered what the barista called "ridiculous," (I don't even remember the actual name) and ridiculous it was-in the best way possible. Imagine this: a cloudy, velvety drink made with perfectly sweetened cow's milk, crowned with a layer of crème brûlée and drizzled with cherry syrup finished with an actual cherry on top. The texture? Light and smooth. The flavor? Balanced not too sweet, not too strong. Heavenly. I'm not usually one for small talk, but the barista's energy was hard to ignore, in a good way. The conversation was chill, and you could tell he genuinely cared about every step of crafting the drink. That kind of passion shows, true artist. It made the experience even better. I went for their warehouse sale. They had a large amount of items available, but only a few styles. I ended up shopping at the original store where the coffee shop is located. The sweatshirts that they had to offer were really cute! However, I thought they were overpriced. I probably would've made the purchase if it was about $20-$30 less. - There is street parking and it's not metered. You're not too far from the pier... maybe a block away. So, it's nice to park near the shop and then walk around. - The staff was really welcoming and kind. They helped me obtain the size I wanted and kept one of the items on hold for me while I made my final decision. The decor of the space is well laid out and I would recommend checking it out if you're in Pismo. read more

I went here with my boyfriend to grab a coffee from the small coffee bar. The owner was the one who helped us. He was very down to earth & had an awesome story. The retail store is clean and has a great selection. We got a creme brulee latte and a salted caramel latte, both with sugar torched on top! This shop is pretty solid. I love the laid back vibe, just like the little town it's in. The shop associates were all super friendly and the store was so remarkably neat. I'm always more than happy to support small businesses, especially the ones in the little touristy towns that rely on visitors. I noticed that this spot also does some rentals. We didn't come here for any of those types of activities but it's good to know that they do that sorta thing. I ended up purchasing a few stickers for our flasks. One of the ones that we had to get said "Not LA and not the Bay" on it. That one was pretty dope. It was right in between hella, hecka and hell of a. LOL. IYKYK. Esteem Surf Company is my favorite Beach apparel store anywhere. The store isn't on the main drag in Pismo. It's so clean and well designed. I'm 6 ft 6 and their size XL shirt is perfect. Meaning they're not skimpy on length like some size XL shirts are. Their designs are fabulous. They're super friendly. I like that they were on board June 15th not caring if I had a mask on or not!!! This store is awesome. They have a good selection of skateboards - including the classic Santa Cruz 80's decks. My brother-in-law bought 3 (he's a collector). I also found an extra large hat to fit my extra large head. I never get to wear hats. The guy that worked there ended up giving us all sorts of freebies. He said they aren't promotional items but he can give them away to people he likes. We walked out with about 10 trucker hats and 5 beanies - all marked at $9.99 each. Score! read more

Esteem is what got me hooked on the surf lifestyle. Got my first couple boards here. And always supported there local clothing brand. One thing I can say about there clothes is its not like a smaller company were the charge a lot for a item and the quality is bad. The quality of there stuff has always been top notch and seems to be getting better. I've had shirts that I haven't lost last me 5 years + and still standing strong. Robbie and his crew there have always been helpful and pleasant to work with. Very chill vibe in the shop. They do support the local scene a lot which is what makes them, them. The only thing I can complain about is since I don't get to make it to Pismo as often anymore, my esteem clothing collection has gone down I wish they would update there website to have new and available stuff so I could gear up.
