Just what I needed after landing in Austin. Had a couple of hours before my meeting and needed to fuel up. This place is smack in the middle of all the action, and extreme homelessness. I had the burger, so I'm sure there's still more to try here. Decor-open and airy. Much larger inside then it looks from the outside. About the only place on 6th Street that had quiet dining it has an old industrial style ambience with reclaimed wood all around. A large list of whiskey, beer and wine. I had a Caymus red blend which was excellent. My wife and I shared their house salad to start. It was above average and the vinaigrette they used really added flavor without being too bold. We also shared the bison burger with the hot pepper on the side. It's a good thing we did, because wife said it was HOT! The burger was cooked perfectly and the rest of the toppings along with the toasted brioche bun made it above average too. We opted for the sweet potato fries which had a sweet seasoning. There are quite a few "honky tonk" bars serving drinks on 5th, the party street. Eureka is the local upscale burger bar. It has some trendiness with the bone marrow burger, but my plain old American cheeseburger did the trick. You can get a find some good microbrews and the bar is staffed with bartenders who are mixologists. It's a nice oasis from the party atmosphere. read more

They were both nice and smiley, but too busy to pay us any attention during our experience. I feel bad writing this, as they both had good intentions and were just too busy with his training. However, we got zero attention from them. No one checked up on us. When we both asked for mayo, we got one tiny sauce cup. Brining two, one for each of us, would be too bothersome? We had to lookout when they'd pass our table to request more mayo. Again, only one tiny sauce cup was brought to us. Such little details are annoying, yet they really mark an experience. We didn't feel welcome or attended to. Contactless menu--scan the QR code with your phone, review the menu and place your order online. No cash. Card only. You can pay through your phone or the waiter will ring your bill. My friend's Phone did not recognize the code. This might be a hassle for those who are not tech savvy or have faulty, old phones. Not the most convenient system. Automatic 16% service fee will be added to every bill. $13 Cowboy Burger was tasty but too greasy. Medium rare was just perfect for the meat, which was tender and juicy. No sauce on the burger though--just a splotch of ketchup on the bun. A major fail. Who wants to eat a dry burger without sauce? The burger was altogether too greasy--it was dripping grease all over. Fries were awful. Pre-frozen, bland, zero texture. Get Sweet Potato Fries for $2 upcharge. My only complaint is I wish they had valet parking - sorry I have bougie tendencies. It's a high traffic area so if you make reservations, plan on making time to find street parking or parking at a near by garage. Really impressed by this craft burger spot. Tried the double smash and also the spicy fried chicken sandwich. Both were excellent. The smash wasn't too thin and had amazing flavor. The salted buns were not my favorite but it still was a go. The chicken sandwich wasn't spicy. It's gringo spicy, so yeah I'll leave that there. The cinnamon sweet potato fries were good but I could have done without the honey. The truffle cheese fries on the hand got devoured. For the appetizers I would recommend the spinach and artichoke dip and also the Brussel Sprouts. Price is on the higher side but that's what you get for a spot on 6th. read more

We each chose a burger & upgraded our side of fries. I chose the Jalapeño Egg Burger with honey-cinnamon sweet potato fries & my friend chose the Black & Blue burger with truffle cheese fries. Both of us were very happy with our choices. The jalapeño egg burger was slightly tangy from the jalapeños, I couldn't put it down. The tang paired well with the sweetness from the sweet potato fries. Both my friend & I joked that the food was so good that we didn't want to stop eating it. I got the fig burger! Taste amazing, would definitely want to go back and try more of their burgers. It does have a very bitter taste due to the arugula, so if you don't like bitter, I wouldn't recommend fig burger. I honestly don't really taste the fig jam that much, the goat cheese is a bit overpowering. The burger was very filling and worth the price. I LOVE their fries though. Pleasantly surprised by Eureka! Don't be turned off by the location and/or if you're roped into some activity on Dirty, you can at least start the evening off with some class! It's very dim-lit. There's lots of different seating options (bar, cocktail tables, big long tables, etc). The tables for two aren't very large so it's hard to fit everything on the table and not feel overwhelmed, but all the more reason to eat it faster, I suppose. The burger is Eureka!'s specialty, so get one of those. They're on the pricier side but do come with fries. I'm guessing the price tag has to do with the Santa Carota beef, "a California Angus raised almost exclusively on a diet of carrots is our choice for a healthier, tastier, and happier burger. Hormone free, antibiotic free, and GMO free." So, at least you can rest assured that your cow was a happy one. The truffle mushroom burger was V delicious and I would order it again in a heartmeat. They do have some daily specials and hoppy hour Monday - Friday, 3pm to 6pm and 9pm to 11pm - with food and drink specials, and 11pm to Close - with specials on food only, so if you're looking to shave off a few bucks while still getting the quality goods they offer, that's your best bet!
