This was a good atmosphere for a late night spot in Upland. To be completely honest it was a pass for me and my partner. We ordered the ribs plate and the double stack burger. Avery was the name of our server and let me just say it was not a pleasant experience! She never checked up on us, never asked for refills, and gave of the bill before asking if we were ready. After being disappointed for the 3rd time, I figured it was time for a review. What was once a go to spot for good food and drinks, has now been disappointing as of late. Within the past 3 to 5 months, and three visits, I think there's something going on. My personal opinion is that the food is not cooked to order. Yesterday 4/30/23 was a special day for me and my family as it is my grandmother's birthday. I reserved in advance 6 ppl online as that was the only option but left a note for an 8 ppl outdoor 11:30am reservation for my family. On the day of, found out 2 more family members could make it so I called at 11am asking to bump up my reservation for 8 ppl to 10ppl. The person on the phone was very rude and said I should have called way in advance. When we get there, majority of the outdoor tables are empty except for 2 parties of 2-4 and we come to find our reservation is NOT ADA accessible. The tables were HIGH TOP inaccessible tables for 10. We did not ask for this. We asked for a table of 10 seating outdoors. Seating is usually not high top tables at many restaurants. We are celebrating my grandma birthday and half of my party were elders who could not sit at HIGH TOP tables. In addition, the 4 greeters near the entrance were rude and one of them in particular kept rolling her eyes as she set up the table for 10 for us. It was cramped and there was not much room to get to our table. They also forced us to walk from the ramp entry all the way to the front entry when there are disabled ppl in my party who entered through the ADA parking and ramps accessible entrance. My recommendation for Eureka Claremont is to completely get rid of the HIGH TOP tables outdoors as they are NOT accessible seating friendly to disabled ppl with mobility disabilities and balance/coordination related disabilities. Make sure all outdoor tables have enough room to move around and also make sure those entering from the ramps ADA entrance have staff to greet us as the other entrance is not accessible. Please have KIND and HAPPY TO SUPPORT 4 greeters at the front who actually offer outdoor seating ADA accessible for 10. HIGH TOP seating is more for BAR TYPE seating only non disabled ppl can access. Please do not shame someone for making an online reservation in advance and phone reservation in advance. The 4 greeters at the front and the structure of outdoor seating needs to change to become disabled friendly and friendly to those who requested a reservation in advance. Please update your online system to have a feature where if I select 7 or more ppl, I will be prompted and recommended to make a phone call to ensure customers are aware of this. Besides the 4 rude greeters at the front and the especially rude one who rolled their eyes at me as they set up table and the rude greeter who kept asking me if I had a reservation for 12 when I kept saying I had a reservation for 10 repeatedly... our food was delicious and our 1 server throughout our lunch was absolutely AWESOME, attentive, kind, and caring. It would have been a perfect 5 star experience if only the 4 greeters did not shame me for my reservation and ADA seating request and give us a hard time for requesting regular tables instead of HIGH TOP tables and if only we had enough room for seating and once again, KIND 4 greeters. Please note many disabilities are not readily known and shouldn't be outed. Thank you for committing to do better if you can. We landed here from a long walk through Claremont Colleges and the Claremont Village. We worked up quite an appetite. The portions were big. I've been to Eureka twice, once for brunch with a large group with kids, once with some buddies on a weekend. I absolutely adored the food, and drinks were good. Parking is very limited on the street, but come on, who parties in La Verne?
