Eureka is one of my favorite places to get drinks and I especially love their whiskey flights. However, I'm not particular a fan of this Eureka location in Cupertino. They have a lot of outdoor seating, but not much indoors and the service is super slow. You have to wait a long time before getting served and I did not like how they brought out things in the wrong order. Food with no utensils or plates, and drinks came way later. Foodwise, I usually get their burgers lettuce-wrapped but I always find their patties a little too salty. Their salads are actually horrible and not worth it. The ahi tuna salad is way too salty as well as the steak salad. The meat is just horribly salty and not even edible. I recommend just sticking with their burgers or their appetizers. I recommend their Brussel sprouts or the poke stack. read more

Hold up; how do I not have a review for this place?! Lost my groove during the pandemic... I'm pretty sure I come to this location at least once a month. Love their rewards app; that was long overdue! This is definitely one of my favorite comfort food restaurants and date-lunch-with-husband go-to's. Usually try to make it out during "Hoppy" Hour (M-F 3-6PM), which offers great value for spectacular quality of food. Also love their weekly specials like Half Off Wine Tuesdays (catch me at the bar drinking discount wine solo). -----My go-to's include----- Wings - Naked with firecracker sauce on the side. They're my favorite kind of wings. Crispy on the outside and super juicy/tender on the inside (and piping hot). The firecracker sauce is exactly as its name suggests--exploding with flavor and spicy. Eureka! American Burger - Love this one in particular but all their burgers are delicious. It's just a nice, classic cheese burger with juicy, flavorful meat and lots of veggies to balance out the savory meat and cheese. Their double smash burger is also BOMB. Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich - Stacked and spicy! Very flavorful and generous with the meat portion. Last time I tried this, it was too spicy for me so I haven't ordered it since. It's a hefty sandwich so be hungry. As far as drinks, I usually stick with their house red or white. My favorite non-alcoholic option is their ginger lime soda. Super refreshing and strong in ginger flavor if you like that. -----What I don't recommend----- Nachos - Distribution of toppings is sparse and sometimes the chips taste stale. Might be the way they melt the cheese on it. Not worth your $ or stomach space, imo. Spicy ginger green beans - Extremely salty, spicy, and...extra. Ordered once and regretted... I've eaten here more than a dozen times the last several years, but after tonight's visit I am never going back. Even before this experience, the value proposition for this restaurant was borderline. There were plenty of other places nearby where you could spend a little more and get better food, or spend less and get comparable food. But it just cleared the mark for being ok for its price, and it was a place I would go periodically for variety within the Main Street Cupertino complex. (I eat out a lot.) Never again. To put it in perspective, I would rather have paid the same prices I paid tonight and eaten at Shake Shack. Yes, I'm aware that Shake Shack is cheaper than this restaurant. Yes, I'm aware that Shake Shack is overpriced for what it is. Still, I would rather have received the food I would normally receive at Shake Shack for the higher prices I paid tonight. Why? Because (a) Shake Shack uses quality ingredients and makes the best version it can of the food it makes; (b) despite being a fast casual restaurant, Shake Shack's service is excellent; and (c) Shake Shack has never messed up my meal so badly that I had to give up and just go home hungry so that my kids could get to bed at a decent hour. (To their credit, Shake Shack has never messed up my meal at all.) I ordered the Ribeye Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. For the record, I've eaten dozens of Philly cheesesteaks in my life, ranging from dirt cheap to way overpriced, from strictly authentic to fancifully creative, from breathtakingly delicious to plain and ordinary. The monstrosity I received tonight was by far the worst one ever. I took one bite and flagged down a server to send it back. The meat was a thin beef patty, about as thin as you would find in your average fast food burger. The cheese was two thin slices of cheese that were completely unmelted, layered on top of the patty. The beef was dry and the cheese was hard and almost cold. I explained this to the server, noting that perhaps they had accidentally used a burger patty by mistake. He expressed surprise and took the dish back to the kitchen. I optimistically awaited a fix. Nope. Five minutes later, the manager on duty brought back the dish and said it was normal. She didn't want to touch the food, but said that if I were to pull apart the patty, I would see that it was not just ground beef. I picked up the patty and tried to separate it. I did not find any piece of beef larger or thicker than my fingernails. The bits of beef were tightly compressed together. None of them had been browned because they were stuck in the middle of the patty. Instead they were all dry and gray like you would find in an overcooked hamburger. If this meat was ribeye, it was the worst I have ever tasted. I wish I'd taken a photo, because it was remarkable enough to share. I said no thanks, this is not a Philly cheesesteak by any stretch of the imagination. They suggested that I could order something else. I tried to play it safe and ordered the Pastrami Reuben - my wife was having one and had shared some with me while we were waiting for them to sort this out, so we knew that dish was at least ok. I also asked them to bring a spoon for my kid's macaroni and cheese. With only a fork, he couldn't scoop up the cheese sauce. We wait a good while. We see a server bring out a Pastrami Reuben. Nope, it's not ours. It goes to a table that wasn't even seated until after we ordered. We wait some more. No spoon arrives. My kid eats his macaroni with a fork, leaving most of the cheese behind. We wait some more. My family is almost done eating, aside from a few leftover fries. The manager comes by and asks if we want the Pastrami Reuben to go. I ask how much longer it will take. She says just a few more minutes. We say we'll wait then. The Pastrami Reuben arrives. It has obviously been over-rushed and under-cooked. The bread is cool, pale, and soft. (The first one was hot, browned, and extremely crispy, so we know how it's supposed to be.) My family is done eating. I am still hungry, but my kids need to go home and get to bed. I tell the restaurant to keep the Reuben and just take these items off my check. I ask them to get me the check as soon as possible so I can pay it and get going. Even that takes much longer than it should. As I write this review now, I am back at home eating some White Castle burgers that I heated up in the microwave from frozen. They taste better than Eureka's Philly cheesesteak. There are not many restaurants on my never-visit-again list, but this one is at the top. I hope a better restaurant replaces it soon. I'm cautiously optimistic given that Main Street Cupertino is prime real estate. (Just ask the prior occupants of the prime front entrance location that's now a Hey Tea. There was previously a fantastic but underappreciated pasta restaurant there, preceded by a decent panini place.) read more

Eureka! is situated in a pretty central spot in Main Street Cupertino, so it certainly presents itself as a snazzy bar with premium eats (note their happy hour promos and weekly events). We were more interested in their burgers, so we hit them up earlier during lunchtime, though service was slightly shakey at that hour. All in all a pretty nice social spot with quite the drink menu and a solid burger, though the side upgrade didn't seem quite worth the extra price. Space and seating is ample both inside and out, but note that spacing might be uncomfortably close for tables in the front (I almost hit my head on another guests just tilting my head back). There was no effort to space out folks, so if you're trying to be careful with COVID just be aware. Noticeably different compared to establishments just next door (better spaced tables and sanitizers around). Service was a bit iffy early in the day, since we seemed to be getting flip-flopped between two servers (both of them came by and repeated what the other server did). Food ended up getting brought out fast at the 10 minute mark, but we waited longer for the check to come as both our servers got busy and we couldn't flag them down for the check. ==Black and Blue Burger [4/5]== Pretty solid burger that generally works pretty well, though the garlic aioli just didnt have as much of a (flavor) presence. Not enough garlic, but the plenty of bacon on top of blue cheese that melted quite generously everywhere (with the help of the aioli it'd seem). Patty was cooked spot on to order and the bread was copiously buttered+grilled to a nice crisp. ==Bison Burger [5/5]== I liked this burger much more than the Black and Blue. The jalapeno jam didn't quite taste much like bacon in my opinion, but had a nice mildly sweet-umami aroma to it that blended with the cheese and onions. Savory explosion! Pretty consistent as far as patty and bread quality goes, though the bison was definitely very flavorfully gamey (in a good way). ==Truffle Cheese Fries [4/5]== The fries were pretty darn nice and had a great flavor/texture to them; if it were just plain fries these would get full marks. The only thing stopping these from being better was the lack of truffle flavor to them (there was plenty of cheesiness to be had). I'd skip the upgrade personally, their fries are pretty good as is. ==Broccolini [2/5]== Considering this was extra to swap out the burger's default side for, it was rather underwhelming. It's pretty gamey and I feel most restaurants can't cook bison right. I feel Eureka mastered it. The whiskey caramelized onion and the Fresno chile gives a really good kick of flavor. For the risk-takers out there, the jalapeño jam really wakes you up from its peppers, and for a second, it takes you to the borders of regret, but not quite. This was my first time eating at the Cupertino location. It's a super nice locale with lots of indoor and outdoor seating options. It's located right across the parking garage. The host sat my friend and I within a couple of minutes. Our waitress was very polite and so attentive! They have lots of great local beers on tap and apparently a great whiskey selection. And I learned they do happy hour! I ordered their veggie beet burger with a side of their spicy ginger green beans. Ugh I love a good beer burger and the way Eureka makes the patty is perfection. I even tasted the burgers ordered by others and had the same conclusion. One person said McDonald's burgers were tastier. We got there at happy hour and enjoyed their house red wine. Nothing super fancy but it was basic and enjoyable I had heard in a previous review that there were very few toppings on the chicken nachos. Well this restaurant must have heard and decided to change the plate. These nachos were definitely loaded! The Cowboy Burger was our favorite, then the classics burger was very good, and finally the crispy spicy chicken was just okay. We finished with their bourbon caramel cake and ice cream. I was really reminded of a maple syrup pancake. I know that's a weird association. This cake is their most popular, but I wouldn't order it again. I think it would be amazing if there was just a bit of a crusty crunch to the outside of this cake. I have bought from Eureka Cupertino store 4 times this month. The total spending was $625+. On 1/27/2025 I realized that they have a loyalty program. I asked the on-duty manager for help in entering all my receipts. I was told that she was too busy, I should do myself. When I tried to enter all my receipts for points, I found out I was screwed. Out of the 4 purchases, I was only given 2 pre-payment statements! Not a real receipt after payment was made! One time they did not give me any receipt! I did pay for all 4 purchases to get the food! It's really nice at all of the walls open up to be outside to that even when you're sitting inside, you still feel like you're sitting outside. The staff here are also very nice and accommodating. We came with our baby, she needed a highchair. And they were able to get that quickly with no fuss. The food itself is quite delicious. They have many allergy, friendly options, and they are able to list all of the ingredients for you. They have a nice bar area to even if you just wanna stop in for a drink and a small snack. I like this Eureka location because they have a large sliding glass door at the front of the restaurant that opens up and brings in fresh air and light. It's a little dim inside of the restaurant especially when the sliding glass door is closed or when it's nighttime. I don't mind this at all. But for those who are looking for more of a bright atmosphere, I would suggest sitting out on the patio during the day. The patio is dog friendly, as I've seen a few dogs out on the patio. This particular visit I ordered the Napa chicken sandwich and a mimosa flight. I appreciated our server who recommended us to try the mimosa flights from right (starting with the original mimosa) to left so we could end our meal with the tastiest mimosa flavors! A personal favorite of mine is the Napa Chicken sandwich. I personally think the tomato can make the sandwich too soggy/wet, so I omit the tomato in my order. Sometimes I order it without the bacon too if I'm taking the sandwich to-go because I don't like reheated bacon. Overall, I do enjoy the sandwich, these are just my preferences. I recommend ordering the Mac and Cheese balls! They're delicious and have a hint of spice to them from the fresno chiles inside of them. Their burgers are also a great item. When I first came here, I was impressed by how tasty their burgers are! They're juicy and very filling. Whenever I order Eureka wings, I order half orange chile glaze and half bourbon smoked dry rub. The orange chile glaze isn't really spicy, has a sweetness to it, and reminds me of orange chicken but in "wings form". The bourbon smoked dry rub is a great option for those who prefer dry wings. They also have "hoppy hour" from 3-6PM from Monday-Friday for those who are looking to have a few drinks with friends or coworkers! They have additional events as well, such as $6 mimosas + bloody marys on the weekends! If you come here often, I suggest downloading the Eureka app so you can get points with every purchase. Location is great and really nice so were the workers. It's a tad too dark inside so we got outside seating which was nice! But honestly the food is just alright. I got the veggie beet burger but I've had better veggie burgers before. The truffle fries didnt really taste any different from the regular fries except the cheese sauce that they gave.
