The servers are friendly here but the service isn't always the fastest. Good news is the food is pretty decent and their specials for happy hour and certain days of the week are great. The half off Double Smash on Wed is an absolute steal! It was very busy inside Eureka on a Wed night which was great to see. Usually a good indicator the school year at UCI has begun as there were quite a few tables that looked like college professors and administrators. There were also a ton of people in the bar area. Overall a great experience for a quick and delicious dinner with great company.

Came here on a weekday for happy hour and had a great experience! We were seated right away, and ordered drinks & apps. Food came out quickly (the tacos were a great deal and soo delicious). We also really enjoyed the fried pickles. Service was kind and the perfect amount of attentiveness. Great experience and would come again for happy hour!

"Hoppy Hour" signature burger with fries = compact, average-tasting meal for $14

Our group of four went for "hoppy hour" and were seated in the outdoor patio on a chilly night when it didn't appear busy, but at least there was a heated lamp close to our table. Servers were friendly and provided good recs for our cravings. Eureka Signature Burger with Fries ($14): 3/5. Compact cheeseburger with a small portion of shoestring fries that was like a slightly elevated version of fast food. It wasn't bland, but I felt like it was just average, lacking some kind of "oomph" factor to make it a memorable meal. It gets the job done, but it's not substantial enough to fill you up if you're super hungry. Since UTC is near schools and residences, it's always flooded with students and families, so it can be noisy at times. Other than that, we enjoyed our time at Eureka. It was a relaxed spot to try out happy hour and catch up with friends.

6/15/26 Eureka! Burger Irvine, CA... Came here for my son-in-law's UCI Graduation ‍Celebration !!! We were here during the 11 AM to 3 PM $13 lunch special menu time, so I ordered the Fish & Chips. We had also ordered Onion rings and Brussel Sprouts for the table to share! Service here was good, two ladies were helping our table, one was being trained. The food was great and we had a wonderful time here! Definitely a clean place inside and outside. Restroom was really clean too! Come visit here and celebrate if needed!!!

Delicious food! Place was packed so ate at the bar.

Miss this place! Lived next to the HB one and was so sad when it closed. Came here during the week for dinner with a gf and the food is still delicious! Got the restaurant week deal which was an appetizer and entree for $25! This is a steal because the sonoma chicken sandwich was huge! Enough for 2 people to share. Large piece of chicken on thick bread with tomatoes, bacon and a garlic aioli. This also came with fries. For my starter i had the mac n cheese balls which were just as good as i remember. Lots of beers on tap which is nice. Place was lively and full, total opposite of the HB one which was empty most nights lol. We also got an order of the fried pickles and these were pretty small pieces and soggy so i would skip these next time! Would definitely come back for other things on the menu though.

Saturday night at 11:00 PM and Eureka was still popping honestly felt like a Friday night. Such a great surprise. Loved the outdoor seating areas with the fireplaces perfect late-night vibe. The food was on point, especially that late. The fries were insanely crispy, and everything came out fresh and dialed in. What really stood out, though, was the customer service. At that hour, you usually feel rushed, but not here at all. Staff was attentive, relaxed, and genuinely welcoming. Highly recommend.

I can't believe I've been to Eureka a million times and haven't written about it yet! This spot is my go-to before entering the Bermuda Triangle aka TJ Maxx, Sephora, and Bath & Body Works. Obviously, a girl needs fuel before she disappears for three hours and comes out with things she did not plan to buy. Eureka always comes through with a great selection of drinks, and their burgers are forever a win! Seriously pick a burger any burger, it will be a guaranteed party in your mouth. The atmosphere is relaxed with dim lighting that sets the mood for an actually peaceful meal... before the retail chaos begins. 10/10 recommend: eat first, shop later, and thank me in the morning!

Really busy. Their ahi tuna was the best honestly. Ordered a side of sweet potato fries that were fried to perfection. It's costly, but the fish quality made up for it Busy atmosphere; dim lights and active night life area

Eureka is hands down my favorite burger spot. I used to live in Santa Barbara -- home to plenty of great burger joints -- but honestly, their meat is the best I've ever had in my life. What makes Eureka even better is their amazing selection of drinks and beers that perfectly complement their creative menu. My go-to is the Fresno Fig Burger. I try to switch things up every now and then, but every few weeks I end up craving it again. The combination of blue cheese, fig marmalade, and fresh greens is an absolute match made in heaven. I can't recommend this burger enough! The service is always great, and they consistently nail the cooking and quality of their food

First time at eureka spur of the moment in the late night hours! The service and vibes top notch for a random night out=4 ! Friendly, great service and check ins and fun atmosphere, but the food only 3 ! Here's the breakdown: -the fries perfection light crisp and soft inside, but sadly the fish tacos were bland. With all the toppings and lime and even a side of ranch, it was needing some seasonings, even salt would have helped it didn't have any on the fish. -The appetizer came out cute and nice looking but not my favorite. The ahi was fresh but an the other toppings like guacamole weren't balancing with it well. Again maybe just needed salt? -Will have to come back and keep trying other things and at different hours bc was really rooting for the food here given the prior reviews.

    Perfect night by the fire

Eureka is my favorite burger and salad joint. They have unique combinations and always fresh veggies. I especially love the nachos they use a sweet chipotle sauce which is different and lite. The decor is modern rustic and warm . I love the water and fire features. I'm super sad they closed the one in hunting beach but it's worth the drive to Irvine

Are cigars allowed in the outdoor patio area?

Smoking in Irvine is illegal. You may not smoke in any public areas.

Hi, I have a tech network brunch for Saturday. Is your patio user enough for us to talk? 9ppl today. Thanks

Yes they have tables and the patio that accommodate big groups

Do the fries come with the burgers or do we need to order them separately?

The fries come with the burger. You chose between regular fries and sweet potatoes fries.

Does this place let you have your dog on the patio?

    They sure do!

How come you guys do not have wings appetizer on your happy hours menu?

Hey June, I think there is a lot on their happy hour menu already... namely the mac n cheese balls! Those are to die for! Definitely get them instead!

Who's your favorite bar tender here?

Definitely Shane. He's the absolute best! Always has a smile on his face.

Do they serve mimosas? If so, are the also included in the happy hour menu?

Yes to mimosas! Not on happy hour, but they do have $5 mimosas all day on Saturday and Sunday :)

You can tell who is the manager - he's the guy sitting at a table with a "Stand" hat and tee-shirt feverishly entering data and looking at stuff on the computer. Why are managers always the one at the table with a laptop? If you go just down the block to Flower Child the manager is the one working at the counter handing our orders, or delivering orders to tables and interacting with the guests. Never saw him use a laptop but I'm certain he does. But the manager said goodbye to us as we left. A chicken sandwich with chicken and cole slaw was made with chicken that we very flat and hard, and had no real taste at all. I think we've been trained to get all our flavor from sauces - they had lots of sauces available and brought them to the table on request. A basket of sweat potato fried was undercooked and too soft. Not so good even with salt and lots of sauces. Of course we didn't eat the signature burger....that's what The Stand is known for...so we didn't really give them a chance for their home run. The place was about 25% full at about 3pm so ambiance was fairly quiet and service was quick. Not sure about a return visit. We're on the fence.

Plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor with a fireplace outside for those chilly nights and where you can just relax and unwind. It's a very convenient restaurant for the surrounding businesses that would like to grab lunch without having to drive, have meetings or want a drink right after work. I was reviewing some of the dishes a couple of months before our arrival and thought this would be a nice early birthday dinner so I went ahead and reserved the 5pm dinner slot. But now let's get to the food! FOOD Short Ribs Croquettes (Appetizer) These were delightful. Not only cute and presentable but the flavors were delicious, a perfect combination of everything! Especially the aji amarillo aioli. Don't be shy when taking a scoop of the aioli, be sure to give the croquettes a nice drench of it! Highly recommend! Sea Bass Crudo (Appetizer) Presentation may seem a bit flat but I promise you it's packed with flavor! Prepared with citrus ponzu, serrano and garlic chili crunch, the Sea Bass Crudo is definitely refreshing with a bit of a kick! Looking for a shareable seafood type appetizer? Then you should absolutely try this out! Streak Frites This one felt like it would be a nice balanced healthy lunch. Marinated steak with bourbon peppercorn sauce sitting on a bed of fries featuring a nice portion of salad. Had the steak cooked medium and it was just perfect. I wouldn't mind ordering this dish again! Work nearby and want a balance of everything? Then this is the dish for you! Braised Short Rib Probably my favorite one. Meat easily melts in every bite. Paired with those whipped potatoes beneath? Forget it! It may seem like a small dish but it gets filling pretty quick. I think this is another dish I'll be ordering the next time we visit! Peach Butter Cake (Dessert) I seem to have found myself in trouble when taking that first initial bite because I couldn't stop myself indulging its rich flavor! I was already full at this point but this was too damn delicious. It's got the same concept of a pizookie and I'm a sucker for this type of dessert! Love pizookies? Peach jam? Then you should get this! Guarantee you'll have it all to yourself! OVERALL Actually glad we were able to try this place out as I just stumbled upon it a couple months before. Great establishment for dates, small hangouts, big parties or an after work dinner. Spacious interior with comfy seatings and a modern look to the place. There is something reassuring about walking through the door already knowing what I am going to order--and knowing, with reasonable certainty, exactly how good it will be. The kitchen is remarkably consistent. The food is well prepared, ingredients are treated with care, and execution rarely seems to vary from one visit to the next. That kind of consistency is rare and much appreciated. The same can be said for the service. The staff are attentive, professional, and pleasantly unobtrusive. The restaurant itself is exceptionally well maintained and always impressively clean. One of my favorite things about Houston's, however, has nothing to do with the food: the acoustics. I can think of very few restaurants where I would rather sit down for a long conversation over dinner. Whoever designed the acoustic treatment knew exactly what they were doing. You can actually hear the people at your table without having to compete with the rest of the room--something that has become surprisingly rare in modern restaurants. There is a good selection of wines by the glass. Prices are certainly toward the higher end, but considering the quality of the food, service, surroundings, and above all the remarkable consistency, I find them justified. Dining at Houston's is something I genuinely look forward to, and after many visits it remains one of my favorite restaurants in Orange County. I would recommend it without hesitation --with one exception: I would choose somewhere else for a group larger than four. For two to four people, particularly when good food and good conversation are both important, Houston's is very hard to beat.

I eat the same things I did when I first came over 10 years ago and it tastes just as good. They make small modifications to the menu and add new flavors (like soup of the day) but otherwise all remains the same and genuinely I love it because they serve food and flavors I can't find anywhere else. Highly recommend the smoked salmon, spinach and artichoke dip, Hawaiian ribeye, fork and knife ribs, grilled chicken salad (fav salad I've ever had), and the fries with spicy mayo (actually top 3 fries I've ever had too). I used to love the southwest chili they serve on Saturdays but they recently changed the recipe and added beans...ruined the dish imo...was a bit sad about that but overall no complaints. One of my top favorite restaurants ever. Pleasure to be a guest.

I ordered the Yuzu cocktail and the hanger steak entrée. I tried a slice of the peach pizza my friend ordered, and I also ordered two desserts (one to eat the next morning for a quick treat/breakfast) My thoughts on the Yuzu cocktail: It was pretty and smelled nice, but I personally wished it had a stronger yuzu flavor. I learned that the yuzu used in the cocktail isn't the actual juice of the fruit, but an oil essence from the peel..? Our server was kind enough to get me some extra essence to add to my drink, and she gave me quite a bit! I added all of it to the rest of my cocktail, but it still just wasn't the same as actual yuzu juice for me. I could definitely smell the yuzu aroma, but I couldn't really taste it the way I have in other drinks and desserts made with yuzu. This could simply be personal preference, but if I'm ordering a Yuzu cocktail, I'd love for the yuzu itself to really shine and be emphasized, especially since it's such a unique citrus fruit. Now, the steak entrée... OMG. Hands down, THE BEST overall steak dish I have ever had in my ENTIRE LIFE!!!! And I've been to plenty of steakhouses, including upscale ones. But dang...this dish absolutely WOWED me! The steak was cooked perfectly to my request, medium rare, and the sauce that came with it... DELICIOUS!!! I'm normally a little excessive when it comes to sauces, especially when they're paired with proteins, so if there's a good sauce with my steak, I usually want a LOT of it. But what surprised me was that even though there was plenty of sauce, the steak and vegetables weren't drowning in it. The flavor was just, THERE! I didn't need nearly as much sauce as I normally would because everything was already so flavorful, and there was still enough to enjoy with the vegetables too. I ate EVERYTHING and wished there was more! I was so impressed with this dish that I actually wanted to thank the chef and the kitchen team personally, but I know they're busy, so I didn't ask. So instead: THANK YOU!!! The peach pizza was surprisingly tasty! All the flavors worked well! The peach cobbler- delicious when served warm! The oats on top aren't crunchy (which again is a preference I was hoping for) but it did make me feel less guilty eating it since it was giving me healthy vibes, despite the buttery flavor I tasted. Lol There was plenty of peach pieces too! The lemon tart with basil blueberry sauce- the crust wasn't quite what I expected. It wasn't like a fruit tart crust I was expecting, like a Whole Foods fruit tart crust (which I absolutely love!) It was more of a mix between a flaky type of pastry crust, but not too flaky. It's hard to describe, but it was just okay for me. I was really hoping for a crust similar to most fruit tarts I've had. The basil blueberry sauce had good flavor, but was so sweet I ended up not using any. I definitely need to bring my family here specifically for the hanger steak dish! And if my kids can't finish theirs... no worries, more for me!
