Yum! My boyfriend and I came here for brunch after our hike today and it was really good! He hasn't been to this place since high school (about 5 years ago). The girl sticks a completely cold and dry roll on a plate and says, "here you go!" With a smile. I asked her if they could heat it and if they had icing. She said, "Oh, yeah! We have icing but people have to ask for it." Who on earth would pay $4.00 for a cold and dry-assed cinnamon roll when they are dining in? Lame. Quaint little Cafe. Stopped in after a hike at the Claremont Loop. The service is impeccable. There is both inside and outside dining available. The restrooms were clean and they were quick at cleaning the tables after a customer leaves. Mariana, Heri, and all the staff were GREAT!! The food is soooooooo tasty and flavorful. I went with the classic Cesar salad with grilled chicken and it was PHENOMENAL!! The dressing is too die for and the chicken on top was FULL of flavor as well! We both ordered the grilled chicken paninis with pasta salad 10/10 and got the banana coffee frappe before we left. I was going to contact the restaurant to give them a heads up and give them a chance to change how they do business. After reading the reviews with people having the same problem I can see nothing is going to change. So here is what happened. A group of us bikers stopped for coffee and a bite. All but myself got a pastry and coffee. I ordered a toasted bagel with butter and a coffee. As we sat, the group finished their pastries and coffee. I to finished my coffee while still waiting for my simple order. At least 1/2 hour went by and no bagel. At this point I asked about the bagel and they said it was coming. Well it wasn't. So at this point I said forget the bagel and give me a refund. I will never go back to this cafe, ever! As an aside, I have no problem with the counter staff and cannot comment on the food. UPDATE: Made it back to get my hands on a chai tea latte and some natas. Both were excellent! Their Chai Tea Latte is now on my top 2 favorite chai's (the other from Last Drop Cafe). It's sweet, not too spicy, and creamy. It only comes in one size (a large for $4.95) and I opted for whole milk, but non-dairy options are also available. The natas ($1.95 each) were delicious, light egg tarts. Not too sweet, and were nice and buttery. The Euro Cafe really knows how to do pastries! I'll be coming back for more. ........................ A coworker told me about this cafe because I was looking for a place that served linguica, a special Portuguese meat that reminds me of my family. I decided to grab some breakfast on my own and WOW, I am so glad I did. The items that were offered on the menu all sounded so good, it was hard to choose. I finally decided to get the linguica breakfast that came with two over-easy eggs, two strips of linguica, potatoes, and toast. The meal came with a lot of food!! This meal was delicious from beginning to end. The eggs were cooked perfectly how I like them and the linguica was exactly what I remembered from when I used to eat it with my family. The customer service here was wonderful. The young man at the register knew the menu well and had excellent customer service skills - I was very impressed. The only disappointment was that I ordered a Café Mocha, but I didn't taste any caffeine in it. It tasted more like a hot chocolate and was not hot enough, barely warm. The next time I go, I will either not order from the cafe or make sure to ask for a remake if my order isn't correct. Besides that, just thinking of the meal makes me want to go back! The cafe is located in a strip mall and has an odd configuration, but there were plenty of seats available. A floor sign listed all of the breakfast specials, and there were several pastries displayed for temptation. I ordered the Denver omelette with potatoes and sour dough toast. The omelette was stuffed with diced ham, peppers, and a little cheese. Ordering the omelette was probably a mistake on my part. It was not that the entree was not great, but it appeared they were more famous for their breakfast panini options. One specialty item on the menu was the linguica (Portuguese sausage) and eggs platter. The Portuguese sausage was amazing, and I am glad my wife ordered it. We fought over the last couple of pieces, and I lost. We also tried a puff pastry called a Tambor Berlin. It was amazingly flaky, the light filling was sweet, the sliced almonds were perfect, and it was lightly covered with powdered sugar. As far as coffees and espressos, they have a large selection. If you order a large regular coffee, refills are included. In regards to the service, it was excellent. The person who took our order was friendly, and the gentleman who delivered our food to our table was very nice. We will be going back to the Euro Cafe for more linguica! read more

My friends wanted to meet up for breakfast while they were in town so we yelped some breakfast/brunch spots and Euro Cafe came up. I've actually heard of this place for quite some time now so this was one of the choices I suggested for us to try. The cafe was small and quaint, but it was filled with many customers. We found a table towards the back of the restaurant and the guys held the spot at the table while the girls ordered. I got the French Toast ($6.99) which was served with maple syrup, strawberries and whip cream. The description was so seductive. I imagined the strawberries to be fresh, but I was surprised by a mountain of strawberries from a jar. My french toast did not get the nice grill marks, and they were completely soggy by the time they got to me. Eating this made me crave a decent french toast now... My friends ordered French Toast ($6.99), Linguica Breakfast Panini ($7.99), Ham Breakfast Panini, and some type of Omelette ($7.99). They also tried some smoothies too... Well, I came here for lunch and specifically chose this place to try some Portuguese food. Unfortunately, I never got any.... at least that I know of. I had one of their "house specialty" sandwiches, grilled chicken, which had some nicely marinated grilled chicken, mozzarella cheese, pesto sauce, and lettuce on focaccia bread......who knows, maybe they serve that in Portugal, but it seemed pretty Americanized too. It tasted good, but it wasn't anything dramatically unique that would make me think I've had some legitimate Portuguese food. I didn't really see anything listed that suggested Portuguese food, so that disappointed me a little. Yet, I didn't ask, either. Normally, I'd ask if I had questions, but we were kind of in a hurry, and I just left it alone. I can always go back and take the time to ask and explore the menu better. Another Yelper mentioned they're also known for their home-baked pastries, but again, while I saw things, they didn't seem all that different from what I've seen at any other bakery, so I left them alone. Euro Cafe is located on the southeast corner of Mills Ave and Baseline Rd, by the Vons. They are open every day at 7:00AM except Sunday they open at 8:00AM. Euro Cafe has been in the Claremont area since 2004 and offer Portuguese and Italian cuisine. They have coffee, espresso, smoothies, breakfast, salads, soups, pastas, paninis, and baked goods. Their baked goods look so heavenly as you walk in the doors. When I was here over the weekend, I was so tempted to get an order of the bread pudding to take home. They offer Daily Portuguese Specials Monday-Friday and their "Everyday Special" is the Bife a Portuguesa which is a top sirloin with dry white wine & peppers, served with potatoes & a fried egg. Since it was 8AM, I ordered from their breakfast menu and picked the Breakfast Panini ($7.99) with Linguiça and side of fruit. Linguiça is a Portuguese sausage. I also got a small Mocha Espresso ($3.40) which is made with Guittard chocolate. My husband got the Cornucopia Salad ($8.25 -spring mix with chicken, raisins, cranberries, mandarin oranges, apple, sliced almonds, blue cheese & avocado with sweet Vidalia onion dressing) and a Strawberry Italian Soda ($2.25 - which is made with San Pellegrino Sparkling Mineral Water). Their seating in limited inside and probably not great for large groups. They also have some tables outside which is dog friendly. My breakfast came out hot and I could tell the fruit was cut fresh. I also sampled my husband's salad and I would order that again. The dressing was so good. Overall, great place with a lot of yummy menu options. It was delicious and a generous portion filled with sausage and onions in the omelette. I upgraded the bread option to a croissant and that was one tasty croissant. I ordered a blueberry crepe for my kids and it came with 3 crepes with blueberries and whipped cream. My kids enjoyed it very much. Last but not least was the huge coffee cup.
