I placed an order online tonight & it took a bit to process. I was a bit frustrated at that because my husband was home alone with my newborn & the in laws were on the way. The manager was super helpful & rushed the order for me. When I got home the hubs was like "why did you order SO much. I'm not even hungry". Don't understand all the great reviews on this place. I was very underwhelmed. Went in one day and it was dark and dingy. Ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and an empanada. The empanada was huge but the inside was not flavorful at all. I also wanted the bbq chicken but they couldn't do it as white meat. Why not?? They just didn't seem accommodating at all. While searching for some takeout for dinner using EAT24, I came across Eurogrill and quickly became a fan. My first order was for delivery of their 1/2 barbecue chicken dinner which comes with 2 sides and costs less than 10 bucks. Hard to beat that price, especially given the generous portion size, tenderness and seasoning of the chicken as well as their check in deals for drinks. Delivery was super fast and with a smile. I've since ordered the same dinner a few more times and tried their pork rib dinner as well. Taste has been consistent and was served with a tasty warm loaf of bread once. I don't know why it hasn't always come with bread, but I recommend asking for it. While picking up, I found the staff to be super friendly. It's easy to miss on the eastbound side of Bloomfield Avenue and parking on the street may be hard to find, but fret not because there's parking out back. Inside, there's a handful of good sized tables or you can saddle up to their counter as well. read more

I order from here pretty regularly using Grub Hub. 9/10 times they arrived before the stated delivery time. 1 time they were about 40 minutes late. But I had ordered during lunch so maybe they had a lot of orders that day. I like their beef and pork ribs and burgers. They provide you with a large tray of rice and french fries every time your order ribs. If you order 3 or more orders of ribs, you can request that they put all the meat in one tray, rice in a second tray, and french fries in a third tray. This saves from fridge space for left overs. On the other hand, if you really like rice and french fries, you can request individual trays with meat, rice, and fries in each. The Eurogrill burger is great. It's very filling and comes with an egg, cheese, ham, potato stix, and garlic sauce. And their Steak sandwich is literally a steak in between two pieces of bread with lettuce and tomato, with a side of fries or rice. Their Mixed Seafood in Rice is excellent. It's basically paella with shrimp, clams, and mussels. Tastes great. Their "Rodizio" isn't really rodizio. What I mean is that it's not all you can eat. They provide you with one platter of cooked meats. It comes with sirloin steak, chicken bacon, Brazilian sausage, pork cutlets, a chicken wing kabob, rice, black beans, and fries. Not a fan of their Spanish Fries. They are homemade potato chips. But the chips I received were brown and bit overly cooked. But that's just me. I'm not a fan of foods that are charbroiled or taste like char. The Beef Stroganoff wasn't that great either. I don't know if it was a one time thing, but when I ordered it, it was very watery and not creamy at all. It also looked like it had those canned potato sticks in it, which didn't add anything for me. I tried their New York Strip Steak and it was just so so. I think it's a bit of a challenge to cook and deliver steak though since it cooks while it is in transit. So even if you request medium rare, it will be medium well or well done by the time it gets to your home. I think it's better to eat it at the restaurant or cook it yourself. Tip: The Mixed Seafood in Rice is just about identical to their dish called "Our Famous Paella". The only difference is that there is no lobster tail added. But the Mixed Seafood in Rice costs $10 less. read more

I love this place. Delicious food, simply prepared, huge portions, fairly priced. Don't get me wrong, I realize that there are arguably better Portuguese restaurants in Newark. But getting to them is a pain in the neck. I have tried just about everything on the Eurogrill menu. Beef ribs are the standout dish. Ehhh... I'm really on the fence about this one. You get what you pay for. Their lunch deals are totally decent. Avoid delivery and take-out, it's just not worth while. The grilled chicken wrap I had for take-out was pretty raunchy (soggy tomatoes, wayyyy too much dressing, not enough meat)....and this disappoints me because I ordered the wrap from inside the store, so I knew it only took them 10 minutes to make -- I don't think a wrap should get soggy and nasty in such a short amount of time. The rice & beans were not seasoned at all, and overall, they were pretty inedible. The beans tasted like they came straight out of the can and onto my dish. The ribs are certainly above par, and they may be the saving grace for Eurogrill. I would stick to the BBQ fare if I were you, I just don't think they really have what it takes to make a good wrap/sandwich, and with so many other options out there, I wouldn't waste my time. read more

The food is five-star fare, but I have to give them 4 stars because of service. This is top-notch BBQ, no doubt about it. Pork ribs are my favorite, and we've often gotten a large platter for the family. The burgers are pretty good. I think burgers are a fairly new addition to the menu, but I like what I've tried so far. Where Eurogrille loses a star from me, though, is service. Delivery service is awful, just don't even try it. I live just a few blocks away and I've waited 90 minutes for delivery. On a good night, it's still at least 45 minutes. The food is great, but plan on picking up or eating in. This is our go-to place anytime we have a large group of people over and want to order trays of chicken and/or ribs. The food is always tasty, hot (even when delivered) and comes in large portions. I have ordered delivery from here many times. The food is really delicious. The portion sizes are very large. More than enough for 2 people. The food is consistent which is fantastic. The only thing that throws me off is when you say bbq I expect more bbq and less just grilled meat (all be it, it's very good). They give you a side of Franks red hot and store brand bbq sauce which I believe is supposed to be the bbq? All in all I would definately recommend eating the food. read more

Decided to visit after reading reviews here on yelp, but unfortunately does not live up to the what I've read. Makes me wonder who is writing these reviews. I'm very observant of cleanliness and when a bathroom is filthy it makes me wonder how clean the kitchen is. The food was very "run of the mill", nothing special, the barbecue tasted charred and the fries tasted frozen not fresh. The service wasn't great either. Eurogrill is basically everything you could hope for in a restaurant that is a mix of traditional Portuguese and barbecue. The service was extremely friendly, and were very understanding with everything that we needed. (They were going on vacation tomorrow). The food was fresh, and was like the definition of homemade. Some suggestions for ordering would definitely be the Seafood w. Green Sauce, which was cooked to perfection with a savory good soup full with the rich aroma of spices, and the Mixed Kabobs, which were just great, with the juice inside perfect. Those were the highlights of our dinner, but of course there was plenty more of beautiful foods. I recommend getting food from the Portuguese Special menu. The restaurant may look a bit shabby on the outside, but you shouldn't judge a restaurant by its cover, especially this one. When you walk in, it's like entering a whole new world of food. The lighting is dim, and some music is playing, but although it may be sort of another atmosphere at night, it's still great for kids. Bring yours! In the end, we even got dessert on the house! We have been going to this restaurant for years but it changed hands a few years ago...and the dining experience has declined. The service is adequate and the ribs remain real good. Unfortunately, three of us ordered chicken burritos (see edit below) as it was a late lunch. That was a mistake because each had only a few very small chunks of chicken. We were disappointed and after finishing, mentioned it to the waiter who then insisted on being right. He became argumentative. No concept of "restauranteur" at this restaurant. I'm a cheeseburger fan, and Euro Grill is one of my go-to's for takeout/delivery in Caldwell. Their burgers are 8oz large, well seasoned and cooked over an open flame and not on a griddle top. The fries are pretty standard and sometimes are soggy by the time they make it to my house, due to the steam in the to go container, but a quick toss in the toaster oven rejuvenates them to my liking. The rice instead of fries is a nice alternative. I haven't had to much else from the menu, but have ordered the burgers over a dozen times and all have been good. read more

how's the food? I don't know. why? Me and my friend went inside, and stood there for good 15-20 mins. and NOONE, I mean NOONE even to say hello. Yes, most of the tables were fulled. However, it's very rude and low-class when NOONE (there were at least 4-5 people behind the bar/cooking area that were not cooking or doing anything.) and 1 waitress. The waitress saw us but she just refused to even knowledge us. It was ok that it's busy. And I would be happy to eat at a busy place instead of an empty place. However, if they were too busy that NOONE even made an effort to say "hello" to their guests, they are forever lost our business and my friends and family's as well. As you know, there are alot more place to eat around Caldwell and Some of them are very tasty and good service. Very disappointed. read more
