My husband and I stopped in on a Saturday night for dinner... such a great place definitely an intimate old school Italian place. We were greeted by the owner Anthony who gave us a great table for two window seat. Such a great guy definitely makes you feel at home... Such great service... as we reviewed the menu we had some water and fresh bread and butter , and also some pickled carrots were served, which was a nice touch... It's BYOB so feel free to bring your own bottle. Now onto our orders... For our Appetizer we had the best meatballs! So delicious... 3 meatballs served in a zesty marinara sauce topped off with some grated parmesan cheese, so delectable as you can see in my photo definitely get this! So tasty and delicious... just like mamas :) Next onto the entrees... My hubby had the Double cut pork chop with long, hot peppers and potatoes... when it was served I thought it looked like a T-bone steak. It was so thick and juicy looking. After he took one bite he insisted I take a taste (as usual) you didn't even need a knife to cut this chop... so tender and juicy. I really can't actually recall I've ever had better. So delicious! Definitely recommend.... As for me, I ordered today's pasta special. Fusilli pasta with sausage, bacon, and peas in a pink Rosa sauce.. all of the pasta was cooked perfect al dente, and the sauce was perfectly creamy and delicious. Everything was great. We received our appetizers and finished them. Server never took our entree order because she was too busy putting away utensils. I was seated with my back to the server's station, and the 2 servers were having a conversation while slamming the utensils in the tray I couldn't even hear my tables conversation. and the worst was the server poked me in my back several times I was livid. One of Roseland's local staples and always reliable. Whether it's a sandwich for lunch or sitting down for dinner we always enjoy ourselves here. Came Friday night for dinner, and it was decently busy around 7. Almost all the tables full. It's a small intimidate place. Our waitresses were kind and attentive. Started with carrots in a delicious olive oil and bread. Got the hot honey fried calamari and a Caesar salad for apps and then linguini and clams and veal Milanese for entrees. We enjoyed everything. Looking for a small local restaurant for a quick lunch check them out. We had the chicken cutlets on a wrap with red peppers and mozzarella cheese. The sandwich was good but mine had too much balsamic vinegar. My friend had the same sandwich and hers had very little balsamic vinegar. lol! Next time I will ask that they don't drown my sandwich. Buffalo shrimp sandwich is the greatest thing I've ever consumed. Other stuff is great too.

Ordered a salad with chicken and they automatically gave me breaded chicken (apparently they won't ask if you want grilled or breaded). The eggplant was soggy and disgusting and so was the breaded chicken. $21 for a soggy gross salad. When I called to complain all they had were excuses and they wouldn't refund me. I hadn't been to Marra's for a few years, so I never saw the inside of their new location. Stopped in for lunch today and was very impressed! Same friendly people here and same great food! I went with a favorite of my wife and mine, the #5. Fried eggplant, mozzarella, roasted peppers and balsamic. The sandwich was excellent and huge! Yes, prices are not cheap...about $10 for the sandwich, but it's top quality. The new place has great seating, which the old one didn't. Parking in the lot is easy. RIP OFF!! I called in an order of spaghetti and meatballs which was listed as $19 on the restaurant's website (picture attached). When I arrived, I was told the price was $24. I told the woman at the register that it was $19 on the website and instead of honoring the published price she said "well I guess he changed the price." Always pass this place and wanted to try since it always seems busy. I was not at all impressed with my dish and if you venture a few doors down to La cucina piccola you will be happier. Chicken giambitto should be chicken cubes cut up with the rest of the dish and should have a sauce. Instead I got 3 large chicken breast with potatoes and sausage on top. Very bland and not satisfying at all. The service was great and the dessert and cappuccino was great too. Not sure if I'd be back since there are better Italian places in the area. read more

Great, local BYOB place for takeout or dine-in, outdoor space too. At lunchtime/to-go, all of the sandwiches are great. For dinner, some favorites are any of the specials, the stuffed longhots, the clams oregenata, the veal Marvin, and the star of the menu is the pork chop. read more

Nice summer night with outdoor dining at Marra's in Roseland. I ordered chicken parmigiana that was excellent. Three pieces of chicken over linguini and a deep red sauce. My wife ordered chicken giambotta with plenty of chicken, sausage, peppers, potatoes and onions. It just needed a little liquid to make it perfect. Great service and will return soon. read more

I'd pay for an overpriced sandwich if they actually prepared it the way I ordered it. Twice now fail on cold sandwich orders. Three times now I've tried to come get breakfast and they are not open as stated. Don't get how these over priced over hyped local joints survive. I won't be back. read more

We order the Hotsy totsty shrimp that are pounded flat & breaded & in a great sauce the best we ever had the minute we took a bite we looked at each other & said omg, then the meatballs wonderful, then the scungilli that was literally to die for not mixed with other things just a scungilli on a bed of or I should say mixed with baby arugula in a lemon vinaigrette sauce that was that you would want to swim in the best the very best, now my cousin orders tripe I myself have never been a lover of tripe I have tried it previously twice and I had to literally spit it out of my mouth but I gave Anthony's a try and it was another Triumph dish it had to be hands-down the best tripe I ever had sensational and of course the source was Sensational to we ordered the chicken Savoy which is anybody who knows this area Newark area knows about the Belmont Tavern forget about the Belmont Tavern this is by far the best chicken Savoy ever so moist so juicy, also we ordered the pappardella and bolognese sauce another home run it was just one delightful pleasure after another we didn't bring a bottle of wine with us because it was so hot and but Anthony came over and asked us if we would like some wine and of course we accepted his hospitality which by the way that wine was delicious too LOL, desert was of course expresso and a cannoli that we shared between us also very good so please please I urge you give this place a try you will not be disappointed it really is very upscale with not upscale prices and I promise you this will become one of your favorite places to dine for sure, so take a love one & treat them & yourself to a great meal, oh I should add they have special everyday too, his fish is fresh everyday, as for me I will be a regular here for sure and am giving it my personal rating of 5 hearts! read more

My job just moved to Roseland- decided to pop in- ordered the Tom- it was very good- fresh, good size sandwich- little costly but at least the quality was good! Place is really clean and had a great atmosphere with Sinatra playing over the speakers- will definitely try some of the fresh Raviolis and other Italian goods- it's worth checking out! read more

My company called to order sandwich platters to celebrate an accomplishment and we had a budget. When it was told to them that their prices were too expensive, we were met with a statement that "they are old, they don't eat a lot". Talk about age discrimination! Regardless of the clientele, basic respect should be given to a potential customer. This was a major turnoff. We were met with a response from the person on the phone that "this is a business, we don't want to lose money". They placed us on hold and came back with another price. Having already had a bad taste in our mouth regarding the treatment thus far, we declined. The person on the phone stated, "don't you ever call here again" and hung up the phone. I don't know how anyone could give Marra's a negative review. Their food never disappoints. I work in Roseland and pick up lunch here regularly. On a light day I usually order the Anthony salad or a grilled chicken Caesar salad. For a heartier meal their veal parm is awesome. My personal favorite is their eggplant, roasted pepper, fresh mozz, and balsamic sandwich. If you really want to treat yourself grab a platter of their homemade loveknot cookies, they're incredible. This was the worst experience I've ever had at any restaurant. It took them 15 minutes to give us dirty COVID menus and then asked if we were ready to order literally seconds after..... ummm no, we just got the menu. We waited for over an hour on a slow night for tasteless, watered down, microwaved slop. Couldn't even take a second bite. We politely asked them to take the food and remove it off our bill. Waitress was rude and huffy. Said she'll ask the owner whose response was we'll remove this off the bill but this is authentic food and clearly you have no idea what you're eating. Not even an apology from them! Customer service sucked. Throughout the wait, they didn't even attempt to check up on us, no glances our way either. The owner didn't even seem to care or try to make the situation better. He was lecturing us on how authentic his food was and how we've never had bolognese before. I've never seen a greyish pink bolognese dish in my life. Pasta with ketchup would have tasted better than this garbage. Oh and did I mention he wasn't wearing a mask while prancing around with a glass of wine , laughing and talking to people? I'm going to be so mad if I get Covid from this joint. read more

They close at 7:00 PM mon - fri., 6 PM on Sat. and are closed Sunday.
