    I'm ready!

When you don't know exactly what you want to it, it's a safe bet to go to a diner because the menu is massive! Breakfast all day, salads, sandwiches, roasted chicken, meatloaf, pasta, soup, and desserts! Did something say milkshake? We came in after a tour at the CIA since the Egg wasn't open yet for dinner. We were seated quickly and our ice water came too. It took us awhile to settle on our entrees because there is soooo much to see. After asking our server for their favs, we landed on the seafood salad and patty melt to share. The seafood salad items (shrimp, scallops and calamari were cooked perfectly. They do not skimp on the size of the seafood either. The house tomato dressing is really bright with a hint of sweetness. Hubby's party melt was a little undercooked but still tasty. The rye bread was buttery toasted and the grilled onions were nice and carmelized. He also loved the seasoned French fries. Oh we really wanted dessert but passed. We did get a small black and white cookie because I'm on the hunt for the best. At only .50, how could I not get one?our server was very attentive and energetic. Loved her! Folks, don't let the low reviews stop you from coming here because they almost did for me. No regrets in the decision. We'll be back for breakfast!

We needed easy on the wallet prices, variety, and tasty food. This diner checked all of the boxes. Plus, apparently they have their own basement bakery where they make all of there stuff and they have their own apple orchard that provides the apples for their pies. And I learned that they appeared on that show Diner, Drive-ins and Dives show with Guy Fieri. The verdict? The food was great! The black and white cookie was chef's kiss. Many underwhelming black and white cookies later, now I understand why people like them. I would come back for dessert alone tomorrow. Maybe I will...

SO and I were in the area and stopped here for lunch. There's a wide variety of food and drink items to choose from and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Bottom line, the food, drinks and service were excellent.

We were looking for a retro diner and found a gem. Eveready diner has the retro ambiance with comfort diner food. The staff was friendly and the food is delicious and plenty. The burgers are huge and cooked to perfection. No matter what you order you can't go wrong. Can't wait to go back!

If you want a typical and excellent diner experience you've come to the right place: classical diner decor, tome of a menu, fast and friendly service, generous quantity, and reasonable prices. It's spacious and popular. Luckily we came for breakfast hence no need to peruse the Tolstoy novel sized menu :-). I asked for veggie omelette without the melted cheddar, while husband picked another one with meat. All breakfast platters come with home fries and buttered toast. I believe that every diner has its unique signature dishes and for this one, the home fries surely make the list. They were more finely cut, some bore crispy crusts and all were thoroughly flavored. My omelette tasted a little dry - it could be due to the omission of cheese. I take one star off for the bathroom: although it's spacious and well equipped, it fell a little short of cleanliness. Bathroom conditions are an important yardstick for me to feel safe about the food.

I went back with a friend to our old college stomping ground for a nostalgic treat! The chocolate milkshake was great! But other than that the food wasn't as good as it used to be. I got the BLT burger, it was fine. My friend also got a chocolate milkshake and the reuben with onion rings and the disco fries. Disco fries are basically poutine. I particularly didn't care for the onion rings though. They were breaded in seasoned bread crumbs rather than a beer batter or any other kind of batter. The service however was wonderful! Our waitress was the kindest! She was super attentive, told good stories and asked us ours. She took our whole order without writing anything down and got it all right! Which is particularly impressive because we had order modifications, like my hatred for blue cheese! The place hasn't changed inside a bit, it looks exactly the same as it did all those years ago.

The decor is classic diner. Shiny and stylish and inviting. The menu promises a wide selection of classic diner food. A really huge menu. My experience was not so positive. I ordered the rice pudding. They were out. So, I ordered the bread pudding; didn't have that either. So I turned to the pies, and ordered a slice of coconut cream: sorry none left. My companion ordered the apple turnover. It was large and beautiful to look at, and it was served warm, but alas, it was soggy. The coffee (which was much hyped on the menu ), was also just mediocre. I expected so much. This restaurant did not deliver. The bright spot was the waitress. She saw my frustration and comped me two homemade cookies, which were pretty good. I will not be in a rush to go back.

Great ambience, solid service, and typical diner food. Servers were friendly and helpful and prices were what we expected them to be. The baked grits and eggs was a hit, but all the dishes were well-received. The shakes are large and rich, and there is plenty of seating throughout.

I edited the people out for their privacy.

My partner and I have been coming here for years and years, yet I've never done a yelp review. This is a great place. It's clean and large on the inside, with a good "diner vibe." The diner has even been featured on the Food Network show, "diners, drive-ins, and dives." All of the employees are extremely friendly and helpful. My partner is handicapped, and whenever we eat here together, they always go out of the way to make sure that she is comfortable. They do delivery, and for to go pick up, they also have a drive-up window. The menu is huge... Our two favorite things here, are the mac & cheese, the pasta is always done perfect, and the sauce is just cheesy goodness. We also love the chicken pot pie. The crust is flaky, , the chicken is tender, there's lots of goodies inside, and the gravy is delicious. The last couple of times I've eaten here, from the breakfast menu, I've ordered the baked cheese, grits, and eggs. Baked cheese, grits with bacon, chives, and two eggs to order on top... Dear Lord, that's a lot of food. The eggs are always done perfectly, the bacon is great, and they really make sure that there was a good amount of cheese mixed in with those grits. It is very rich, and very delicious. If that's not enough carbs for you, it also comes with toast on the side. I always finish it, but I always waddle away from the table. The desserts from their state of the art basement bakery (also featured on Triple D,) are top notch, no matter what you order. Another great thing, is the milkshakes! No matter what flavor you get, they are thick, rich, and you not only get the milkshake in a glass, you also get the metal cup that it was mixed in. It's almost like getting two milkshakes. For everything you get, the prices are very reasonable, and they even do a military/veterans discount. We will be back again and again. Thank you

Love the 50s vibe this place has since definitely feels like blast from the past since how gray box restaurants are these days. Plus they an old pay phone, such a relic. The service here was very friendly and was nice they made small talk here with you. For the food, my eggs were Perfect, ham steak Was lightly charred and so tender, wheat toast was lightly buttered and hash browns were seasoned but the usual elsewhere in quality terms. Only thing that tripped me up was cost of orange juice, not saying it was not fresh or delicious, just wish I noticed its price before ordering. Otherwise a great first try.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the generous portion sizes. The food was tasty, and the customer service was excellent--our server was incredibly attentive

Although Poughkeepsie has a decent variety of excellent restaurant options, there aren't a lot of upscale places to select from. We opted to book reservations for Brasserie 292 for a Saturday night. When we arrived, we were nearing the end of the dinner rush. We were sat right away, unfortunately it wasn't all too romantic being sat in the middle of the restaurant but understandably the restaurant is on the smaller side. The waiter was attentive, and addressed any of our questions about the menu, even hunting down the bottle of pinot noir we ordered. We opted to start off our night by splitting a half-dozen oysters which came with their in-house hot sauce, and an order of pouple, which was cooked to perfection. For our entrees we selected the red wine braised lamb shank and the dry aged prime NY steak. Since sides for both entrees were not mentioned on the menu, we also ordered sides - wild mushrooms, brussels sprouts and crispy smoked peewee potatoes. Overall the food was excellent and I'm still dreaming about the mushrooms. If we lived locally, would we go back, maybe but overall we had a great experience. Since this was an upscale restaurant, I opted to not photograph our meals and enjoyed being present in the moment.

All of the above mentioned plates were in my opinion in incredibly good. What was not good, was the bread basket on both occasions. For an Italian restaurant serving the kind of bread that they serve is not a good thing for an expensive restaurant. The first time the bread was non-descriptive and just basically was not good. On the second time the bread that they gave us, the outer crust was scaling off of the bread, which probably means that it was frozen for a long time in the freezer and then reheated it was terrible. We did send it back and they gave us new bread in that style, which was still not good then while we were there, an older employee woman?, was talking loudly and disrespectfully to the workers, and made for a awkward dining experience. In addition, you have to pay for salad when you buy a meal. I don't think I've ever been in a good Italian restaurant where the salad didn't come with the meal. Again, I'm gonna say that the plates that my wife and I had the baked ziti the chicken Parm the manicotti in my opinion were excellent and this probably won't deter us from dining there, but thus far we have found a few good Italian restaurants, so we might pass this one up for a place that has better bread. We always try to support local and this review by no means is to put down this establishment, but to hopefully make them aware that good Italian bread matters at a good Italian restaurant.
