This chic new brunch spot is conveniently situated by the green st T stop & surrounded by prime on street parking. I ventured to the diner on a Saturday afternoon and while the place was bustling, my brother and I were promptly seated outside in their patio area. We ordered a vanilla latte, an iced coffee and two egg Benedict's (one of them the corn beef hash). The coffees were both very good & the food was not only pleasantly displayed but also very delicious! Admittedly, it was not the best eggs Benedict I've ever had but I'll chalk that up to the fact that they were quite busy. I visited this restaurant a few days back just looking for a new place to have some breakfast upon walking in the dining room, gave off a warm, welcoming feel. It wasn't too loud. The music wasn't obnoxious and everything was laid-back, unlike traditional restaurants where you walk in and wait to be seated I found out this restaurant does not seat you if I didn't look around I would've never noticed that there are QR codes at each table where you will place your order for coffee and breakfast online. I'm not personally sure if I was able to order with the person behind the glass window, but eventually I sat down to make my order, when you sit at your table, there is hot sauce and hand sanitizer but no salt and pepper. Also, you are expected as a courtesy to the restaurant to clear your plate into a trashcan and put your plates in a dish bucket. This restaurant does not bus tables unless they have to, I was not greeted by a waitress. Someone just came out with my coffee and food told me to enjoy and I never saw that person again so for the people that enjoy the aspect of being unbothered when having breakfast or whatever meal you choose this is great, but it was new to me, I ordered their basic breakfast which was home fries, bacon, eggs, and toast at first glance. I had immediately noticed there was no salt and pepper on my eggs and some thing that really frustrated me was that I didn't have the option to even put salt and pepper on my egg, the home fries or potatoes as some people say we're very clearly just boiled potatoes tossed in seasoning, but still no salt or pepper and little to no flavor. My bacon was very very thin which screams to me. They are tight on food cost because it felt cheap when I ordered this dish I added a side of ham with the side being an up charge I expected at least a slice of cooked ham, but I was given ham that was very obviously used for their omelettes, and it was small, diced ham for an up charge. I only got maybe a sprinkle of ham on my plate. I also ordered an omelette with the same potatoes. I was given in the first dish, so no surprise I already knew what I was getting myself into with the potatoes so I went straight for the omelette. overall it was a good omelette, but yet again, no salt or pepper, and the egg was over cooked I have no complaints about my coffee except for the fact that their website is very limited on how much sugar or cream you can have in the coffee granted, I could've just ordered my coffee or my food from the lady behind the glass, but I was definitely going for more the hands-free option where I didn't really have to be bothered much I am personally and Chef and I don't have a problem with this type of food, but the lack of culture, and similarly the lack of love given to the food was nonexistent my girlfriend ordered the omelette which pretty much was the same ordeal as my omelette for three very small plates of food and our two coffees I paid a combined $47 to walk out feeling unfulfilled and dissatisfied. Hadn't been here in years and was pleasantly surprised with the new restaurant area with counter and table service! The large windows made the room bright and sunny. Staff were attentive and friendly. The best part was the delicious food! The substituted the breakfast potatoes with a side of fresh-cut fruit. Very nice breakfast selection! I had the western omelette and it and the home fries it came with were delicious. They also have a nice coffee selection, and I had their light roast which was good. They were busy at the time, and we waited a while for our coffee to come out. This has become my favorite small casual place for breakfast. It is equally good at dine-in, which features Benny's, omelettes and the like, and a booming takeout coffee, breakfast sandwich, and bakery business, which is my usual stop. I had to spend all day on Green St and I went here for a croissant and iced green tea in the morning. It was delicious and the people were very nice and seemed genuinely happy to help me. It is the favored place for the JP family set- which if you know JP, means pre elementary school kids (they sell up and move to newton at school age). Yay! We live in the neighborhood and are so excited that evergreen has opened. We love exodus bagels but are happy to have another option as well. We've been to the cafe probably 7 times already and to the diner once. The coffee and iced teas are excellent. My husband loves the nitro! The cookies are amazing and my vegan friend is so happy they have vegan options. The breakfast sandwich to go (egg ham and cheese) was great and perfectly warm. As for the diner, the blueberry pancakes were huge and my kid loved them. I had the evergreen omlet and it was one of the best omelets I've had at a restaurant. We ordered a $2 side of scrambled eggs and it was huge and perfect. There were ample high chairs and the servers have always been so nice and enthusiastic. And the dark roast coffee was so good I went around the corner to grab a to-go cup where I also sampled one of their amazing croissants. I decided to try this eatery out for breakfast on the recommendation of my wife. My wife is a vegetarian but I'm not and often find that the "healthy" choices are not tasty. My husband and I were looking for a place to eat brunch after going to church in Jamaica Plain and per usual looked up to see what Yelp had to offer around our location. We saw Evergreen listed with great reviews. We noticed it's located in the same spot of a restaurant we went once but with different name and decided to give it a try. I now have a best brunch place in Jamaica Plain!! Everything, from the service to the quality and deliciousness of the food was incredible. I ordered the fried tomato egg benedict and that was excellent. The potatoes that accompany the eggs were soft and well seasoned. I also ordered a chai latte with almond milk and it was so delicious. We will definitely be coming back here for the food and great atmosphere. One of the things that I admire the most about this place is the teamwork exhibited by all of the staff members.
