It is rare that I review a business two years after using it, but this is one of those cases where it absolutely must be done. I understand some people have had issues with Phil not showing up, but let me say this: if your problem is ants, CALL HIM ANYWAY. You don't lose anything if he doesn't come, but if he does come, as he did promptly for me, you will never regret it. By the time I called Phil, I had already used another exterminator, who was talking about monthly visits even though his first visit hadn't made a dent in our absolutely insane ant population. I was living in misery. I couldn't put down an open can of soda between sips without finding ants crawling on it when I picked it back up. I found ants crawling on my sleeping 4-week old baby. I was literally hysterical. I can't remember why I decided to call Phil, but he came exactly when he promised to come, and he told me that he would basically bring the antpocalypse, all with no harm or inconvenience to my baby or toddler. I was willing to believe anything at this point. All I have to say is this: since the day he came and went, I have not seen one ant. NOT ONE. In two years. My healthy two-year-old daughter has only ever seen ants in pictures. Whatever Phil did is probably a disaster for the local food chain, and I don't know how he's going to stay in business if his customers never call him back, but I am selfish and do not care. Every time I sit down at my computer and eat a granola bar or drink a soda, every time I realize oops, I left a half-eaten sandwich out all night and I go to find it completely free of ants, I think of Phil and say a silent thank-you. read more

Ever Guard was not effective. We have been having 2 months of treatment but our problem with bed bugs have not improved. When in fact, after the last treatment, it seems as though the bugs got angry and went on a biting spree. I want to credit Ever Guard for their effort. I understand that there are only Phil and Lisa that are doing the work so that is why it is somewhat a mission getting a hold of them on the phone. They did come to treat our house on 4 or more occasions but in our experience, the methods used were not effective. Our house never went 2 days without people being bit. I also want to mention that Ever Guards 60 days gaurantee does not mean money back gaurantee. As Phil told me, it only means continuous treatment and that no one in "this business" will give that gaurantee. We are now going to use heat treatment and hopefully this works. Phil has mentioned that heat was just a gimmick but we cannot continue with this same course with the chance of getting the same results. I was bitten by something in my bed a few weeks ago. Looked like a couple of mosquitos had a feast on my forearm. It was so weird looking i researched it and suspected some time of bed bug problem as I'd recently visited a hotel. I called Phillip and he made time to come by and give me a free inspection. He didn't seem to find anything but gave me some money saving advice to test out my situation a bit further before he really had to do anything. He was glad to save me money and really wasn't making anything up just so he could get another job. A rare quality indeed. Usually I try to write reviews after receiving the service, but I waited on this one because you can't really tell if pest control is working until time passes. The house I moved into had the worst bug infestation is ever seen in my life. There were living and dead roaches in every single cabinet and drawer when I moved in. It was so bad that a roach crawled in the middle of my husband's sandwich during the few moments the sandwich was in the counter in between bites. Philip came and sprayed the house, inside and out, before we moved our furniture. He was happy that we hadn't moved furniture in yet and said that her be able to give us more powerful bug killing as a result. Since it's been two years since his initial visit, I don't remember exactly how long it took for the roaches to die out. I think he told me within a week ie two, but I believe that virtually all died within the first day or two and within a week, the remaining superbugs were dead, too. Six months later, I called him again, but this time for ants. They sprayed a formula around the house and yard. The ant killer is said to be green and safe for pets. My cat was fine. I purchased a two year warranty on the ants and had him come out to respray this past spring, which he did without issue. I've had no issues with either ants or roaches, even though the weather has been painfully hot. I would definitely recommend using them. We were having an ant issue for a couple of months. I know people say "Oh, it's just the hot weather, etc etc." I don't care, I hate bugs. In the past, we had quarterly treatments with Terminix. It was going well for more than a year...until the ants actually invaded our kitchen the day AFTER a scheduled treatment was performed. Back in December, plumbers had to flush one of my drains and when they did, the wall outside became covered - COVERED - with bugs and spiders of all kinds. It was like a scene out of a horror movie. Last night I saw a cockroach in my kitchen. First thing this morning I called Ever Guard. I explained what had happened and Phil told me that with one sighting I probably didn't have a problem and didn't necessarily need to do anything. I explained my paranoia on the topic however, and he suggested the following solution. He would come out and check on things. If it looked like I had a problem, he would spray for it. Otherwise, he would spray a preventative for my peace of mind. Since the preventative was only $99, I was sold. Some other reviews have mentioned no shows. Since he agreed to see me on the same day, it was certainly not an issue. Everything was taken care of. The preventative does indeed smell a lot like root beer, as described. In addition to spraying in the kitchen where the sighting had occurred, Phil also sprayed the baseboards throughout the rest of the house. In addition to being professional and doing exactly what he had said he would do, he was also friendly with my children which is always a plus. I contacted Philip about a bedbug problem I had in my apartment specifically my living room Ikea couch. Philip's daughter in law, came to my apartment when I was not there and serviced the apartment. I did not meet her but she was very nice over the phone & trustworthy. However 2 weeks later I found healthy looking bedbugs, so Philip came back for free and did his thing (again I wasn't in my apartment to meet him). But unfortunately, 3 weeks later I find newer healthy bedbugs, Philip came back again and this time I made sure to meet him and figure out how we can resolve this matter. He did a more "aggressive treatment" on the couch so I was told. Urghhhhh then 2 weeks later healthy looking bedbugs still. I couldn't take it anymore, trashed the couch and bought a new Ikea couch. I'm giving 2 out of 5 stars because the service didn't live up to its expectations. Now I sincerely appreciate the 2 follow ups Philip did, very nice of him but I said over $400 for a service and I expected results. Now, Philip will say because I rent my couch on Airbnb and have such a high turn over, this was bond to happen. I suppose but after being treated 3x times in the course of 7 weeks, I can not believe I have that many couch crashers who have bedbugs. Broken Promise & Bad Attitude We were repeat customers of Everguard Exterminators, but we won't be after a very bad experience during which Phil not only broke his contractual promise, but also displayed a horrible attitude. Phil last sprayed our property on July 20, 2017, giving us a "1-year" guarantee until "7-20-18" as per the Service Inspection Report. On July 18, 2018, the ants were back. That is admittedly close to a year, but if you bought a car with a one-year guarantee, would you hesitate to call in the guarantee if the car broke down a few days before the year was up? So I called Phil the next day. He was a bit miffed, calling it "ironic" that the ants returned so close to the anniversary, but ok. He asked for a video of the ant trail, which I provided. He replied with a thumbs up. On July 20, I texted him: "Can we please schedule the treatment? Thank you very much." (This and all quotes below are verbatim.) Phil replied: "Yes we can I only days off and now are Thursday and Friday of next week everything else is booked and pick a day but make it sure it's after 11 AM I am working out of San Bernardino right now where at least until October." On the same day, I texted back: "Either Thursday or Friday next week would work for me." On July 21, I suggested to him: "Thursday at noon?" No response from Phil. On July 23, I texted him: "Can you please confirm when you are coming on Thursday or Friday? As I texted earlier, either day works for me as of now, but I'd like to have a time certain or a not too wide window of time on one of the two so I can plan accordingly. Thanks." To which I received this memorable response from Phil: "Do you think it's only you I do it all the time just about every day" I gritted my teeth and wrote back to Phil: "Not sure what prompted this reply. All I am asking for is a time certain or a not too wide window of time on either thursday or Friday, which are the two days you indicated earlier are possible for you." No response since then. Thursday and Friday of last week (July 26 & 27) came and went and the ants are still dancing on our kitchen counter. I had what I thought was a small roach problem in my kitchen. In the past year, I'd see one every couple months, so I decided not to do anything other than spray some Raid around the perimeter of my house and inside the kitchen cabinets and sink. Well the experts say that eventually Raid loses it's effectivity as roaches build an immunity to it. Apparently, they're right. Over the past month, my roach problem got a whole lot worse. I started seeing more of them...particularly baby roaches, which means they were multiplying rapidly. There are a lot of little nooks and crannies in my kitchen which would be highly conducive to nesting. My cat was patrolling the kitchen around-the-clock, staring nonstop at this one corner of the room that she presumably discovered to be a high-roach-traffic area. I guess it was only a matter of time. I eventually stumbled upon Philip who gave me his sales pitch over the phone and billed himself as a "pest eliminator" vs. a "pest control" service who does a purposely mediocre job in hopes of signing you up for a monthly service. I called a bunch of exterminators before I spoke to Philip, and this sounded about right. He seemed like a no b.s. kind of guy and offered to spray my whole house for $150 total since it's only 760 square feet, as well as a 60-day guarantee. Sounds fair to me. I called the day before our appointment to confirm (did you?) and he and his partner ended up showing up as planned. They were finished and outta there in 10 minutes, give or take. Philip met me outside and told me that he saw tons of roaches and fecal matter come out of hiding as soon as he sprayed and the problem was probably worse than I ever imagined. He also told me that I had left my weed paraphernalia and box of condoms out in the open, "but don't worry, I took care of that for ya." LOL. Thanks bro! The next day, I saw a couple roaches come out to die like he warned me about, but nothing since. A week has now passed and I can proudly say I'm roach-free! The feeling is indescribable! There's nothing fun about hearing a critter living under your house. It's downright creepy! We had another exterminator that we used for termites when we bought the house and the occasional ant spraying. Unfortunately, that exterminator (who I will not name), basically lied to me that he didn't see any sign of anything living under the house when I asked him to come by and check it out. I know this because 1) I accidentally left the gate locked to our house and it would not have been easy for him to get into the house and 2) thanks to Everguard, we know there was a rat living under the house. Our little furry nightmare did seem to disappear for a while, but when we heard it again we sought a new exterminator. I always like to support independent businesses and chose Everguard based on some good Yelp reviews. Philip did not disappoint. First of all, him and his wife are super friendly and he never felt like he was trying to sell us anything. Their quote seemed very reasonable, although admittedly I did not shop around. He identified points of entry into the house that he would need to seal up and he also spotted droppings confirming the critter did exist. He set up some traps around the house and came back once a week to check on things, letting me know that I could call him at anytime if we caught one. The traps didn't catch the critter and we opted to seal the house after not hearing the bugger for a while. We were hopeful that we sealed the guy out, but after a few days a horrible stench started creeping into the house. I called Philip on a Sunday night and he was there Monday to remove the stinky dad rat. He then proceeded to fog under the house with an antiseptic. I called Phil this morning about a black widow with an egg sac outside my house. It's the 3rd we've seen in a week. He said that he couldn't make it out today or tomorrow because of previous appointments, but he gave me another company to call that he used to work with.
