The way I was treated at the tanning salon was unwarranted and unacceptable. I would like to cancel my membership after I got spray tan, which turned out to be an awful orange color and I don't like the way your business model is set up to trick people into paying over $100 a month for "unlimited spray tan" which is not a good quality one so you're either forced to have an orange fake looking awful spray tan that takes over eight hours to dry or be forced to pay more money on top of the monthly payment for " extra add-ons" to make it dry fast and turn brown not orange, it's very predatory and dishonest but that aside after I got spray tan, I was going to go into the machine with the fan to dry off before putting my clothes back on I called the front desk to have them start the machine and asked if they could open the front door because I was feeling nauseous and had a headache from the awful strong chemical perfume odor of the spray tan that was thick in the air I couldn't breathe, and I simply asked for a bit of fresh air. If they could just open the front door, the woman I spoke to, Brooklyn, was mocking me, mimicking me, extremely rude, unreasonable, curt, immature, and had zero Customer Service skills. It's not an unreasonable request for a human being to have a bit of fresh air and have them open the front door. There was no explanation provided as to why she would not. She simply repeated and mimic me and refused in such a rude way if you ask any lawyer, especially if somebody is having a medical emergency, they would say that was absolutely not an unreasonable request and to be refused that is definitely not OK! When I came out from my treatment, she still was having a bad attitude with me and making immature faces to be rude to me. This is not how you should treat any of your clients, the faces that she was making at me and the way in which she was speaking to me, which was not the way anybody would want to be spoken to especially over a simple request, such as opening the front door for a bit of fresh air was so awful! I would like a refund for the awful tan and an immediate cancellation of my membership! read more

iTAN Clairemont is hands down my favorite tanning spot in San Diego. The salon is spotless and has amazing services, but what really sets it apart is the staff. Every single person I've interacted with has been genuinely sweet, welcoming, and helpful. They greet you with a smile, remember your name, and make you feel totally comfortable whether it's your first time or your fiftieth. They take the time to explain the different tanning and wellness options without being pushy, and they're always happy to answer questions or help you customize a package that works for you. Any iTan location is horrible for spray tans! I paid $100 per month for nothing they always add on extra things that they say will make the solution dry faster or make it less orange and charge extra without telling me. It's such a scam how their business model is set up and the package deals are so dishonest. The spray tan always turns out low quality and I have really had enough of the broken machines, the locations not having the same equipment and red light photo facial or Beaty Angel machines are worthless. The locations have no fan or place to dry off. The regular solution takes 6 -8 hrs to develop! Don't waste your time and money here just buy your own spray tan equipment and solution and do it at home. read more

I went in for a spray tan and took off my bracelet. I realize it's my fault i left it there, but i called within an hour and asked if they could look. They seemed annoyed on the phone and said they couldn't find it. I drove back to look myself and they were offended i didn't trust them. I asked them to look at who was in the room after me and potentially reach out to them but they said we can't help you. It was a gold bracelet with sentimental value from my mom. Also, i wasn't going to write a review on this because it is technically my fault, but my friend went a few weeks ago and then today just got a $100 charge for a recurring plan that she didn't sign up for. I've been going to this location about 2 weeks now and I can't recommend it enough! I FREAKIN LOVE THIS PLACE!! I haven't been tanning in well over a decade but I needed to get some color for a wedding I'm in this spring. I was completely overwhelmed by the various beds and membership options, but Jossy was fantastic about explaining everything clearly and answering all my "beginner" questions. She is AMAZING! She goes above and beyond at her job and I am so glad she was the one to sign me up. She made me feel comfortable with the whole process and informed about which beds do what to ensure I wasn't going overboard with the UV rays. :) Her and Kennedy both ROCK-- very knowledgeable, friendly and happy--it's so refreshing to interact with people that are genuinely happy and want to help you. Overall this location is the best. It's super clean, parking is easy peasy and the beds are top-notch. I will be coming back to this spot anytime I need to build back up some color!! read more

I live near SDSU but that location I guess closed permanently and I was going to the Mission Gorge Location but the level 5 beds are NEVER available and I had to try the Beauty Angel!! So Clairemont we go!! I was met by Jossy and she had such great fun and friendly energy! She got me set up in the Beauty Angel and then in a level 5... Great location! Convenient parking! I have not tanned in about a decade! The last time I went tanning was when I was a teenager because it was the cool thing to do in the early 2000s haha. I hadn't tanned in a long time but I dance Hula/Polynesian and I had a competition this past weekend so I wanted a beautiful island sun-kissed glow. I would tan at the beach if I could but unfortunately I'm one of those people that turns red instead and I get blisters instead of tanning under the real sun. My limbs are already pretty tan but it's my stomach and chest area that I wanted to match my legs and arms. I saw online the promo at iTan and if you text a code you get your first session free. I was allowed to chose any machine I wanted so I went for the Sun Pro which is normally $35 a session, they also have a cheaper machine which is Sun Lite for only $10. They provided a small towel and goggles each session which is awesome and really convenient. I love the whole tanning experience. It's so damn relaxing, I listen to some music and about 10-12 minutes later I'm all done. It feels like a mini vacation in the tropics. The tanning bed is nice and warm, it feels like I'm back in my mother's womb lol. My favorite part is the smell of the tanning lotions! They all smell so yummy and girly. If tanning weren't cancerous I'd be doing it regularly! All my friends and family are trying to make me stop haha. I went a total of 4 times this month until I achieved my desired colored. I've had a few people notice my tan already haha I'll be sad when my tan fades but the next time I have a show or competition I'll make sure to return to get my hula girl glow! read more

Don't forget anything there. They will throw it away. Earlier this month I left my hat in the tanning room. The girl working called to let me know I left it and that it would be in lost and found. I left the next day out of state for a week so I was unable to get it right away. Came back to town, got sick, had to leave and travel again. Today I came in to tan and get my hat to find out that the manager had tossed it. And they were so nice to give me $10 store credit. Geeee. Thanks. That $10 won't even cover half the shipping it costs to get another from Australia where they company is out of. First time at this location. Parking is tight but the salon is one of the bigger ones I have been in. I have a membership so I can use any location- this one is super close to the LA Fitness and Walmart. So I can hit all 3 in the same parking lot! The contour acrylic level 4 is a great bed. Been called 5x since I closed out my "free" one week, the DM sapphire is supposed to be issuing me $24 back for the botched tan and horrific response to my experience, as I told her talking bad about Nina who messed up the first time stinks on them because she's an easy person to blame when she's not around but all the women who decided to make apologizing me even more weird because who wants to see a place calling that gave them the worst tan experience they've had in 22 years? I've never had to wait a week for a refund or have people so self involved they blame someone who quit for their lack of problem solving and resolve to make a potential patron happy. Sapphire even took back the free tan I was promised not that I'd use it let's be honest but still "it's either $24 refund or a free tan is actually $30) $30 plus their upsells because it's like a used car dealership with catty high school people, I kindly reminded sapphire that this is a big small town and i can see why these other franchises closed. Please refund me and yelp representative, I know it's your job to help these clients figure it out bc they pay so much to advertise with you but please just have them refund me and do a workshop on kindness, timeliness, and communicating better with that store overall and even more with the patrons locals PAYING for a TAN, like I said - at the end of the day this salon is calling me 5x over what? Refunding me and making me relive this awful lame experience? I told em I'll stick to airbrush or go somewhere that's got their ducks in a row. I only use the spa products here, so I can't talk to the tanning devices. The best thing about this one is that its very clean. I can see it and if I'm in one room, I can hear them cleaning other rooms sometimes. They have the light facial, beauty angel, fit wrap, teeth whitening. No hydration station here. Only once did I feel like that pushed too hard to sell products, but I'm understanding that they're probably trained to do it. Horrible. They shove everything down your throat it is such an unpleasant experience. You cant get just one tanning session. You HAVE to get a membership which i know is a complete lie. I have been to other locations which are great you just go in and its easy takes a minute in and out. After forcing me to buy a membership They told me a lotion promotion was included with membership last month when I checked my credit card I was charged $14 for this. I did NOT need or want this. I have been an ITan member for three years now and have no idea why I have never written a review! These girls are ABSOLUTELY amazing and definitely a huge part in why I have stayed so long. Every single one of them are always willing to help with whatever you might need and are so knowledgeable! I literally ask some of the silliest questions and with a big smile on their face they do their best to help. I never feel like I am being forced to purchase product or like they are trying to upsell me- they genuinely want to see that you are getting the best deal that helps you to reach your tanning/skin goals. HUGE shout out to Cassie for being the bees-knees. I seriously love every single one of these ladies at this location but Cassie just goes above and beyond. Thank you for being such a rockstar! Oh and lastly, the beds- they are amazing. I always have a great tanning experience. We've been going to this particular location about 2 years now and I absolutely love it. I feel extremely fortunate that I've been able to keep going there through the covid thing. I have a little bit of seasonal affective disorder that Itan helps with sooo much. Mostly, I appreciate the friendly, professional, and knowledgeable staff. I was always nervous about the beds due to freckly skin, so I really appreciated Casie letting me know which lotion was best for my skin tone and also the lotion that would cut down on any orange tone from spray tan. Finally a new store! I love how clean and well laid out this store is some iTans just try to fit into a previously occupied space and the store will feel disjointed but not this one. Everyone who works here is helpful and polite. I've never felt ignored or like I'm inconveniencing a employee by needing help like you do at other salons. The beds are either new or have brand new bulbs so it's the most tan for your time. I just started tanning again a month ago and I'm already looking very tan. read more
