Terrible experience! It was my first time here. Unable to get the 7 for 7 deal as I didn't a bill with me since I have an out of state ID. That was not on the website and they wouldn't take military service with ID as a reason either. That was one, second I had to keep repeating myself to the front desk staff as to what I wanted and needed. I have several shades going on due to work and need to even out. Apparently that was too hard to comprehend, adding me into the system took more than 15 min. Definitely paid too much for a simple 5 minute session. read more

Today I got a spray tan for the first time. I usually go for the tanning beds but wanted to switch it up and see what I thought. I used the Mystic spray tan system and I am beyond ecstatic about the results I got!!! The color choice blend that was made for me was identical to my naturally dark summer tan BUT BETTER! The whole process took less than 10 mins and I achieved a golden glowing competition i wanted in minutes with flawless and even color! Ive been going to this location for almost 5 years now and have nothing negative to say! I really appreciate Aaliyah and kiersten! This location has become increasingly busy the last couple months. Most nights I'm sure these ladies don't actually leave the salon until around 11pm even though it closes at 9 pm. These ladies definitely have a lot of patience and I really appreciate how well they treat every customer they help even though I'm sure it's frustrating that they aren't able to close on time. They charged a $5.00 cancellation fee, which was promptly paid yet they still continue to withdrawal payment from my account. I have called countless times and went into the store each time I spoke with a variety of incompetent twits all who have chosen a pornstar/stripper alias (ex: "Saphire"). All the negative reviews must be from when they were under different management. I have been tanning here for the past 2 days and the girls are so friendly and the facility is very clean and new. The 2 different beds I tried (level 3 and 5) were definitely up to date. They welcomed me when I came in and said goodbye when I left. I paid 99 for a 1 month unlimited tanning in any bed. I arrived to iTAN on Friday morning at 10:00am. I went into the Versa room for a spray tan. After undressing I noticed there were no hairnets in the room. I put on a robe and went out into the lobby in search of someone to help me. Once I saw the front desk girl I asked her for a hairnet. She informed me they were out of hairnets. I'm not sure why she didn't tell me this before I went into the room. I asked her what do I use to protect my hair and keep my hair off my face. She told me other customers are putting towels over their head. Interesting. I have thick long hair. Luckily I had a hair clip. I proceeded back to the room, got into the Versa with a towel over my head. Problem. It's a "sptan. Hence, spray is blowing at you pushing the towel all over the place. I do not understand why this business did not go out and by some temporary hairnets to help their spray tan clients. This iTAN also is hot or miss regarding the barrier lotion in the spray tan rooms. I have gotten into the room, undressed and realized the lotion was empty. Just a pain. I have also experienced low staff. Waiting for 10-15 minutes before helped. The positives are the place is clean. Also, the spray tan machines are knew and you have a choice between Mystic and Versa. I was contacted by Itan and was impressed with how the business handled my complaint. I changed my stars from three to four. The business has been great since. read more

I have been to a lot of different iTan's and this one is by far my favorite. The ladies who work there are so friendly. They are quick to acknowledge you if there is a slight wait and are always nice even when they are super busy. The rooms and beds are always cleaned well and turnover is quick. I've tanned at nearly every iTan in the county and El Cajon location is always above and beyond. (Definitely the best staff, cleanest, and most beds available-- some iTans don't even have a level 4 in the spa which doesn't make sense) These girls here have become dear friends and are always so happy to help and take the time to get to know what it is I'm looking for and how to go about achieving my desired tan. Katie always gets me on buying lotions (they always have deals&specials going)and especially Hempz tan extenders because they smell so good!!! By far my FAV itan I have been to. Went to a different tanning salon for a tan and had a bad experience. Called Itan El Cajon after it had happened, and they took care of me immediately. Maygan was amazing over the phone helping me out. The other Meagan was so helpful with fixing my tan and making it look PERFECT. Zamen was the manager I believe, and she was so kind and making sure that I was satisfied with my service. Thanks to these three my dance was saved, thank you ladies!! You rock. read more

iTAN was very busy tonight. I walked in at 7pm. I was told it would be 20 min before I got a spray tan. Unfortunately, I did not get out until 8:40. At first the staff said it was taking so long because someone did not use the machine correctly. To try and remedy the back up the staff asked us waiting if we wanted water. However, as one hour of waiting soon turned closer to two hours of waiting I watched the staff continue to put people who came in after me in front of me to get a spray tan. I wasn't sure if they were playing favorites or just forgot about me. Finally, an employee who wasn't even working that night noticed how long I had been waiting to use a machine. While not on duty she made sure I wouldn't have to wait any longer and cleaned the machine herself. This off duty employee's name is Alana. She was great. Other than Alana the service was very poor. I do not think it is worth it to pay over $50 for a spray tan, constantly be cut in line, and wait almost two hours. read more

Taylor...wow! Absolutely amazing top notch customer service! I have been reviewing several of the locations and came back either my 2nd or 3rd time to this location. I have a huge huge shoutout for Taylor! I came in and it was not terribly busy but Taylor was busy helping another customer. She assured me she would be right back. In the meantime another staff came to the counter to help me... She did not make eye contact or say hello. I figured maybe she's new and a little nervous? She set me up in a tanning bed and told me to come back when I was finished so that I could go spray. When I came out I was happy to see Taylor behind the counter again. Taylor took me back to the mystic spray machine explaining everything including the amount of time before I could shower as I had purchased an accelerator and a bronzer. That's my normal so I kind of already knew the ropes but it didn't stop Taylor from providing me with all of the information necessary. She showed me where all of the supplies were and made the entire experience worth the 2nd or 3rd trip back. I do recommend this location as they have their supplies set up in the back for the spray tanning and you do not have to ask for a thing. Everything is right there at your fingertips.. It is very clean and the atmosphere is peaceful which I like when I'm tanning. It wasn't an amazing day for me so stopping in at an iTan location allows me to treat myself a little extra special on a not so wonderful day. Taylor thank you! Being a dude, it was really difficult for me to get the courage to get into a tanning bed, but being so pale I burn very easily when outside (honestly anything over 30 min and I'll be a lobster) so I figured why not give it a try and see if they can help me get a nice base tan so my skin doesn't sear in the sunlight. Right when I walked into the store, i was greeted with pleasant smiles from every staff member. I also noticed how clean the place was! Kara was the best though! from the moment I walked in, and told her my situation she knew exactly how to help. I got signed up for super cheap and got 30% off a lotion she recommended. Honestly I work in sales and she could not have been more friendly, patient, and awesome. There is a closer store by my house, but I always come back to this one to see Kara and the other girls because they are the best and have the best, cleanest store hands down! read more

So far so good, I stopped in before Kaaboo to get some color on my oh so pale legs and paws..ok I will admit Im 46 and yes I see wrinkles and sags so the fact they offered spa like treatments was interesting. I got a monthly membership and tried the photo facial and some super space hyper intelligent sunbed that did everything except rub lotion into my back...(Sun Pro?) sooooo.... yes I have gone back and will again for more photo facials and teeth whitening My membership is paying for itself in my vain quest to look younger. The staff was professional, politely laughed at my strange humor, and very knowledgeable about the equipment. Plus they all have a nice glow about them (hah get it?) First of all, I love this location because the beds feel a lot cleaner than the other ITans. Second, Katie changed my entire tanning experience!!! I usually freeze my account for the summer but the customer service she's given me and the products she's sold me have changed the game!!! I love the tan I have right now and it's because she's been patient and gives me advice on which bed to use. Last but not least, Meagan is another star employee. I accidentally dropped my lotion and it broke and instead of cleaning up my mess and going back to her job, she took the time to help me fix the bottle. Both of them tell me which bed would work best for the tan I want. They should both be managers! It's noticeable when employees love their job. Love this itan! I have been coming to itan on and off for years, but this location is one of my favorites. The ladies and gentleman here are so nice and extremely helpful! Before I stopped coming to itan a while back, I had lost 30 pounds while doing the body wrap, balanced diet and mild work outs. Doing the body wraps, hydro and beauty angel truly motivate me to not only feel good but look good haha. This is the worst itan in the county. Some of the women who work here are very professional and kind. Others are rude. I've been an itan customer for 13+ years, subscribed to the sun spray spa membership etc. I know the levels and the beds. Whenever I come to the El Cajon one someone argues with me about the bed that I want. It's so rude and disrespectful. I live in Pine Valley and I have to drive a ways to come here and I never get the tan that I want because a new employee wants to argue with me about the levels that I want or need. I have the least satisfactory results coming to this itan. They also claimed to have new bulbs all the time but I get darker tans at other iTans. I just worked a 90 hour work week and went to this itan. Asked for a level 5 and was told I could only do 7 mins because it had new bulbs (can do longer) then I asked to do a level 3. She then said she had to to clean it (there was no line) and said that I should do another room which I know to be a level 4 tanning bed. So now I get to drive back to Pine Valley after my 90 hour work week without the tan that I wanted (a VERY common occurrence at this location) after yet another rude experience at El Cajon itan. read more

This has been my go to tanning salon for almost a decade. I've started/renewed/cancelled/restarted memberships here all the time. Staff comes and goes but they're usually friendly and nice. Equipment is clean you might have to wait a little for the level 5 beds but there's a waiting area. I've had a lot of issues in the past with the store but so far this year has been easy going. Hope it stays that way. I just wish they would get the level 5 stand up so I didn't have to drive to mission valley all the time for it... read more
