Waitstaff is very personable and fun. Food is a touch pricey vs quality and portion, but most everything is delicious. Pass on the pasta, go for seafood type dishes, and you'll be quite happy. Cocktails are well above average in design and taste!

Amazing service and delicious food! We came in for a later dinner around 8:30 p.m. with a group of six and were seated right away. The staff was very accommodating.

Food and drinks was good but they didn't have my favorite dessert and I have it only once a year. I was upset about it but I will call next time to make sure it's available.

We went here for dinner and it was delicious. I'm downtown Douglas it was a quick walk from where we were staying. We started with the wasabi ahi tuna appetizer and it was delicious. I highly recommend it. My friend got the duck two ways and I got the sea bass. The sea bass was good but the duck was great. Overall the food was good and the service was great.

Great food and drinks! It felt like a really homey place, staff was welcoming and the vibes were there while dinning.

Last night 2 of my best friends and I went there for dinner. The place was crowded for a Thursday which was great. We waited for 30 minutes which was fine. Once we got to our table we looked at the menu. Thursday was burger night, so of course we had to get one. My friend is a vegetarian and he asked if they had an impossible burger which they did. For drinks, I had the French Pear. Made with Grey Goose Vodka, St Germaine, Sparkling Brut, and Sugared Rim. My other friend had a Grey Goose Lemon Drop and the other friend had a Dirty Martini. We all had the burgers and fries. Also, the burger and fries come with a glass of Bordeaux Wine for an extra $5. Our server was nice and friendly. And of course, we had dessert. An Apple and Cherry Crisp with whipped cream. The dessert was warm and tasty. Matt the owner came out to talk to us and we told him how great our meal was. If you are planning a trip to Douglas/Saugatuck make sure to stop by Everyday People Cafe and if you are vegetarian make sure you ask for the impossible burger.

I was staying in south haven with my sisters and I'm so glad we visited the cute little town of Douglas. We loved this restaurant. We sat outside and had some amazing appetizers. The owner was friendly and came out to check on us. He recommended food and beer. The tuna app was amazing. We loved the pizza!! I'm not a lamb person but the lamb meatballs were incredible. I loved getting to sit outside and enjoy the small town vibe. Free street parking. Super friendly staff! I can't wait to come back.

Excellent dinner spot in Douglas. We enjoyed eating outside on the back patio. I had a perfect steak and a superb drink.

Came out hot, delicious and with a side of marinara. We prefer ranch, which tasted SO good, just like house made dressings should taste! Quantity was PLENTY for two people. I took the rest home, air fried it and was happy! Hubby ordered the Burnt Ends Hoagie. Generous amount of brisket, good amount of cheese, very flavorful sauce. Big sandwich. The bun it was on really made the sandwich. Hubby is very picky when it comes to buns, bread, etc. Quality bread can make or break a sandwich! Onion rings he had were hot, big and plentiful. Very tasty! I had the Deep Fried Walleye. I never really order fried food, but this fillet was HUGE and lightly (and nicely) breaded. I hate it when you get more breading and not much protein. The seasoning was perfect-not too salty, not bland. Great tartar sauce. The only reason l gave it 4 starts (because l really wanted to give it 4.5) was because my fries were only warm. Not hot like everything else we had. It was a sunny day, their door/windows were open, nice breeze. They have an outdoor patio area that is pet friendly. They have live music weekly. Enough TVs to catch sports no matter where you sit. Even a cozy fireplace, which was lit. Chad, the general manager stopped by our table to chat. Very nice guy! I highly recommend this restaurant. Definitely will go back again.

With few lunch options, we decided to give The Butler a try and Wow! Best decision we made all day. The service was great - friendly and attentive. And the food was outstanding. My friend loved hers - a patty melt burger, which she had served on a brioche bun instead of the standard rye bread. She shared a sample of her burger with me and it was very good. I can imagine if the burger were cooked to medium or medium rare instead of the well done my friend ordered, I too would have called it delicious! I ordered the Mac and Cheese with brisket and candied jalapeños and - what can I say? It was really one of the best things I have ever eaten. The combination of flavors was wonderful and the added crisp of the not-very-hot jalapeños added a tasty texture. Do yourself a favor and go to The Butler and order this. Trust me. I will be back to the restaurant and will probably order Exactly the same dish! Wonderful.

Walking in we were immediately redirected because we didn't notice the please wait to be seated sign that was outside of the door. It would be nice if the sign had been a little more visible or if we had been redirected more kindly. We were sat immediately and even though I tend to hate high tops, the chairs were sturdy and comfortable. Between myself and my friends we ordered the grilled ham and cheese, the nutty salad, and the burger (with cheddar, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, mayo, ketchup, and mustard). We all loved our food and it came out quickly. I ordered my burger medium-well and it was cooked perfectly. Our server was attentive and made sure to refill our water frequently. At the end of our meal they gave us little cups of animal crackers, which was just the cutest touch! Overall loved and would totally return and recommend.

We grabbed seats at the bar, and the place was full of locals which honestly tells you everything you need to know right there. And not just full... but full of the nicest people. Not only was he making amazing drinks, but he was also doing his best to convince us to ditch our dinner reservations and stay honestly, he almost had us The drinks were so good we ended up coming back later that night for dessert... because clearly we weren't done yet. But here's the part that got me I casually mentioned it was my birthday weekend, nothing big... and the NEXT DAY while we were walking around downtown, we look up and there's my name on the marquee wishing me a happy birthday. Like... who does that?! That kind of thoughtfulness is just next level and completely made my day. Phil's isn't just a bar--it's a whole experience. Every time we walked by, it was packed, and after being there... I get it. They're doing a lot right. If you're anywhere near Saugatuck--GO. Sit at the bar, order a drink, and just enjoy it.
