    Lemon pepper Caesar chicken salad
    Mickie F.

I'm so excited this place is right down the street from me. I have been going once a week to get 2-4 different meals that I eat over a few days. A favorite so far is their Chicken Shawarma with Yogurt Sauce. Posting pictures of the lemon pepper Caesar chicken salad. As you can see they really stuff their containers so you get a good portion of food. If I eat the whole container I'm left feeling really full. If you are local make sure and ask for the resident discount. I'm not sure how long it will last for but going on now. Each meal is reasonably priced for under $9. You can order meal delivery for the week online but I love that they have physical locations too. They have a good mission to make fast food healthy, especially in lower income areas that often rely on fast food. This place is a staple for my week!

Typically enjoy the food but they are closed on Saturdays??? Why??? Seems unusual and unnecessary.

Admittedly not all of the meals are to my liking but I'm a big fan of this business and it's mission in general.

We arrived at a peak rush-hour time. Plenty of parking, and, while the line looked quite intimidating, the wait was not nearly as bad as it looked. Really fast service and friendly staff members. Note that there's not a lot of seating, so be prepared to potentially eat in your car or take the food to-go. I ordered a Tito's taco, an enchilada, a cup of guacamole to accompany the chips and salsa with my order, and a piña agua fresca. The taco was delicious. It could have been stuffed just a bit more, but it absolutely hit the spot. The enchilada was not nearly as good as the taco, unfortunately. Texture was very tough and dense, and the flavors were not quite there. The piña agua, however, was absolutely fantastic. Tasted exactly like a fresh pineapple with a perfect level of sweetness. The chips and salsa were my favorite part of the meal, though. The salsa was superb, the guac tasted great (very much a creamy, less viscous texture), and the chips were perfectly fried and obviously fresh. Personally, I thought the prices were fair for what we received. Way higher than a taco stand where the quality would be better, equal or slightly less than a taqueria, but way lower than one of the boutique taco shops around the area, especially given the fact that the chips and salsa come with each meal.

The tacos remain the best beef hard shell and the salsa is the best in the world. However, it is an absolute tragedy and should be illegal that it's $6.15 for one taco with cheese and $14.70 for a beef cheese burrito. It is also a tragedy that the burrito is kids size that my 2 year old can eat on their own. These used to be my favorite and huge, but I can no longer order them. This place used to be a family favorite but I can no longer order extras like we used to. They closed off the inside which was convenient to order, I think just to make the outside look busy. I'm not a fan of these new changes to my favorite taco place in LA.

Nabbed the BBQ burg and I can totally appreciate the lettuce, tomato and onion that came along with the bacon, onion rings and BBQ sauce because a lot of places skip those traditional aspects cause they think that smash = pass...nah nah to those pedejos. These guys NAILED IT! Customer service was super friendly and efficient. Inside, the joint had cool neons that would be dope at night and a fun paint scheme. All in all, give it a go!

You will not be disappointed! You will leave very satisfied and happy. Their burgers are bursting with flavor. They add a lot of the toppings that are supposed to go in the burger. Every bite you were able to get a taste of the toppings. Despite the patty being smashed down it was still very juicy and full of flavor. Their fries were amazing, I really enjoyed them with the burger. The fries have the perfect balance of crispy and soft, making them some of the best fries I've ever had. The customer service was great. They knew we wanted to share the burgers and without asking they cut them in half. Adding this simple touch made us know that they pay attention to their customers and care about providing the best service. The workers were hard at work the whole time and seemed to care about the food they were preparing. Very kind and genuine workers. The inside of the restaurant gave a laid back atmosphere. Making it a great spot to go to after a long day at the beach.

I Dont RATE with Stars anymore; you be the Judge…read more I have a love / hate relationship with HomeState. I love the tacos I hate the prices. But I suppose if they weren't Worth $7 I wouldn't come back. I've had most of the proteins but usually enjoy the brisket. Was going chicken last time but they were out and quoted 30 minutes before replenish. No thanks brisket it is. The tacos appear small in the foil wrap but are loaded with meat and plenty of guacamole. The brisket meat is served cold which is weird. They serve queso, but it's mild and not my favorite. Spice it up with one of two good salsas red or green. Last time the queso was steaming hot and that was a Win. Last thing in this review was an $18 frozen margaritas which was comical. Decent flavor but small for the price. That is a never again for me, but sure I will be back occasionally for fresh flour tortilla tacos. There is a bar you can sit at inside or many tables out front. It tends to get very windy in this spot. I'd say service is always decent or better but wait times can sometimes be longer than you would think it should be. I recommend.... you he the Judge!

I was craving some breakfast tacos and queso after being away from Texas for a handful of years. We…read moretried out Homestate, which was recommended by a friend who also left Texas. I had the Trinity and Pecos tacos. The Trinity was a classic and was a good mix of the potato, bacon, cheese and eggs. I knew we couldn't go wrong with it. The Pecos taco was dripping in grease and was really hard to eat because it was so wet/greasy. The flavor was okay but I wish it also had potatoes to help break up the wetness. On the side, we had queso and chips and also a side of the crispy potatoes. Both the chips and potatoes paired well with queso. The service was really fast and we got our food quickly, which we appreciated, and we sat outside on a cloudy day so it was nice weather. Our order didn't come with any napkins so we had to return to ask for some since they didn't leave any out to grab. It didn't feel too busy on a Thursday morning.
