It seems to be a hit or miss and not consistent. Our first two times there was outstanding. Every dish just delicious. Then we saw that they use frozen food from bags (i.e. fries and probably many of their apps) to make some of their dishes. We thought everything was made fresh. 3.5. Pros. Food was delicious I was there for a busy saturday night around 630pm. I was with 3 friends. i ordered half grilled chicken was very nicely done juicy great flavor. I also had a grilled octopus which was amazing with a salad which was also very fresh and big too. My friends had a halibut, tiger shrimp, and were equally very happy. I would go back for sure. The staff were friendly and very helpful and patient as they were extremely busy. I could tell they all had a great working relationship because the hostess and other folks were all helping out pitching in. cons: kind of loud because the main area for eating was basically a back area and a smaller size room so not enough space between seating. The other thing was we were seated near the back entrance area and it was very cold out tonight like 5 degree so when that door opened we got the cold breeze and chill thankfully it didn't get used often. The other con was the fish is awesome but on the pricey side as the halibut was 30 something dollars! Still I would go back as my budget allows.The food is fresh and I am confident enough today I'd order other food that would equally be as good. read more

Every time me and my family come here the food is amazing but the service is always on the edge but just trace to was some of the worst I've seen in my life time! The young man working there was so rude and sarcastic it was insane! But not only the service was bad but it took 2 hours for our food to get here. I'm gonna need a couple weeks before I'll come back because that level of rude was insane! read more

This place is amazing. They let us in even though we didn't have a reservation.the staff is super friendly. They serve you hummus and fresh olives to wait for your meal. We ordered the lamb and beef patties. It had a special sauce and it was awesome. The scallops were perfectly grilled with a delicious asparagus risotto and crab meat on top. Then we ordered chocolate mousse and it came out right away. All the food is delicious and I recommend coming her 100% 2nd time: This place is so good I can back. We ordered the tuna and crab appetizers (two different appetizers). They were both amazing. I got the angry shrimp which was delicious. It came with fettuccine and a light tomato broth. It had jumbo shrimp which was super fresh. My dad ordered the seafood couscous which had a outstanding flavor. For dessert we got the tiramisu and chocolate cheesecake and they both were delicious. The service is wonderful. I still recommend this place as 5 stars and am waiting to go here again. read more

Had lunch here and some lunch specials would be nice but all in all it was not too expensive so not a big issue. I had the lamb kabob which was pretty flavorful. It was cooked medium which for lamb is too done for my tastes so if I come back I will have to ask for it less cooked. They were very nice in giving me salad instead of rice, which was solid. They also give you hummus with bread and olives, which looked pretty good (took it home for the family). read more

The food was good and so was the service but I will never go back. I ordered Red Snapper. It came with hericot vert (string beans). I asked if I could get spinach instead and they would not let me sub it. Now keep in mind that either green beans or spinach could be ordered for $5.00. Same exact price. We were here last Thursday at 6:30pm. Love the food, not the service. There were diners at only two tables in the restaurant when we got there. The restaurant put us at a small table right between the two occupied tables. We asked for bigger table, they told us the rest of the tables were all booked. Excellent birthday meal at this gem in Millburn. We went on the early side so had the place to ourselves until about 6:15. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu, and steered us to the delicious octopus starter. We also had the borata, which was delicious as well. For entrees we had the fish special, deboned and the scallops over risotto. My fish was on the smaller side but excellent. The scallops were fantastic as well. We finished with baklava, a real treat. It's also a huge plus that the place is BYOB and offers outdoor seating for temperate evening meals. Highly recommend! read more

Looking for somewhere to have dinner before seeing a show at Papermill Playhouse, we stumbled onto this gem! The food was delicious and the service was friendly, helpful and efficient. They gladly adjusted our meals to accommodate several dietary needs that we have. We had a very relaxing dinner yet were finished in plenty of time to get to the show without feeling rushed. My husband's salmon was cooked to perfection as was my Branzino and I was delighted to learn that the accompanying "seasonal vegetable" was a scrumptious sautéed haricot verts, not the usual medley of carrots,zucchini and broccoli one receives at many restaurants. We had not intended to have dessert but couldn't resist the homemade baklava suggested by our waitress, the wonderful Noel ( be sure to request her!). Had a very nice lunch here on Friday, trying out the place for the first time for outdoor dining. They are following all protocols, and tables are spaced nicely apart in the outdoor tented area on Main St. that is closed for outdoor dining. They bring out hummus, pita and olives to start, and waters were being refilled constantly (I never had to ask!). We had the falafel and chicken souvlaki platters, which were both very yummy! We catered a summer party for 20 people and the food was outstanding. The grilled shrimp were some of the best shrimp I've ever had, the chicken skewers were delicious, and the falafel was a little spicy and awesome. We got two half salads which were gigantic: the spinach and beet salad, and the Greek salad. Not only did they look beautiful but they tasted amazing. Lemon potatoes and yogurt sauce were fantastic too. I've eaten dinner here several times previously and the catered food was just as delicious as the food at the restaurant. Best Greek food I have had ever! Clean and inviting, I took my daughter there for lunch. We shared the tuna tartar piled high. There was plenty for both of us. Then I had the egg & lemon soup which was my favorite and the best I have ever tasted. Just the right amount of lemon and the chicken had large pieces from a fresh bird. OMG...try the lamb burgers with the white sauce. This is going to be my favorite restaurant in the Short Hills area. Service was exceptional. Really loved the place! Was excited to try this place but unfortunately was not impressed. The best part of lunch was the lemon soup. Chicken souvlaki was too charred, the pita that came with it was bland, and the salad was not properly dressed. The chicken gyro was just plain grilled cut up chicken put in a pita. This is Millburn's hidden gem. My husband and I have been here several times and the food and service keep us coming back for more. The tuna tower tastes great! I love the fish display on ice. I highly recommend the Grilled Branzino. It reminded me of our trip to Israel where everything was so fresh and tasty. I wish I could grill Branzino like this. Hector is such a gifted chef to be able to make everything tastes so delicious. Hector and Rick make a perfect team. The last time we were there, we were in a rush and they did their best to accommodate us and ensure that we got our dishes quickly so that we could make our meeting. I'm so happy this restaurant is located only a few blocks away from my house. We will be back for sure. read more

The food is very good- however at the price you pay for it you would really expect better service. Went in there before 6 pm on a Friday night and thought, wow it's really empty in here I hope they don't go out of business! Then we were greeted by the rudest hostess/waitress who let us know that because we didn't have a reservation we had to sit up front by the cold door that was opening and closing. That would have been fine, except we watched at least 3 parties- including a party of 4, come in, also without reservations (we could hear everything) and be sat in the back. We could also see all the open tables in the back. There were also two parties that did have reservations who got sat in the back as well. The waitress was snobby and unhelpful, cleared our food literally mid bite to rush to clear a table when our main dishes didn't come out for another 15 minutes. There are plenty of good restaurants in this area, I'll take my food without the attitude and spend my money elsewhere. read more

It was a sisters weekend in Milburn so I decided to give this place a try based on the reviews. It's a BYOB place which wasn't bad because I brought my own bottle of wine. I can never get a good glass of wine out. I always bring my bottles from the Tewksbury fine wine store in Tewksbury . Anyway the one starter I really wanted, which was the cheese plate, they didn't have that night. So we opted for the eggplant dip. It was good. It comes with grilled flatbread which was very good also. It was a Friday night not very crowded the wait staff is very friendly and tentative. I got the spicy shrimp dish with pasta, it was very good. My sister got the filet mignon which was a little tough. I will definitely come try this place again. I can't comment on dessert as we were too full from dinner to have any. read more

Wow wow wow! We had the most amazing dinner tonight! The service was incredible the chef was so nice and personable! The food is more of a Greek fusion than straight up Greek food which made things a little more exciting! The fish is fresh fresh fresh! My husband and I had dinner here two weeks ago for the first time and really loved the food. We are both very good cooks (restaurant biz) but what we have a hard time doing is buying good fish retail! So it was an utter treat to each have our own perfectly seasoned and perfectly fresh and perfectly grilled branzino!! (Mouth watering as I type!) We let the waiter know that we like our fish gently cooked and it was superbly moist! I had asked about the fish availability when I called that day for a reservation. We started by sharing the octopus app and calamari app--they were both SO good!! The quality of the products and the expertise of the Chef/Owner really came through. We stopped at The Wine Rack on Essex St. and got an excellent Greek white for $17 that the shop's owner put a quick chill on for us. We chatted with the Chef after dinner and I believe he attended CIA and has a serious resume but even more importantly--the dude cares about the product he buys and he knows how to cook! thank you, Chef!
