Great food. Always delicious. Been there many, many times and it's consistently good.

We were looking for a place to eat outdoors on a warm spring night and happily ate at EVOO & Lemon when The Standard across the street had a wait. We are glad they did. The food was uniformly excellent. The meal started off with hummus and pita the top layer of which was covered with a seasoned olive oil. The hummus was very creamy. For appetizers we had Pantzaria, Saganaki, and Keftedes. Pantzaria was a delicious beet salad with onions, arugula, and what tasted like a garlic cheese. It actually was made from almonds. Saganaki was a breaded and broiled piece of cheese that was served with a dollop of fig jam. The crispiness and richness of the cheese was a nice foil for the jam. The Keftedes were lamb meatballs served with yoghurt and apricot. The meatballs were surprisingly light. The yoghurt sauce was a little sweet for my taste, but not a deal breaker. Main courses were equally good. The grilled Branzino had great grilled flavor, complemented by Lemon, Garlic, Olive Oil and Capers. The same was true for the Chicken Souvlaki. Angry Shrimp over pasta was the least interesting. The sauce had a nice heat to it, but seemed less special than the other two dishes. Service was pleasant and attentive. Had the pleasure of dining at EVOO last night before seeing a show at Paper Mill Playhouse. Food - wonderful. I had the special Chilean sea bass with corn risotto and asparagus. I am not a risotto fan, but this fish and rice was amazing. The risotto was creamy and fish was tender and soft. My friend had the prawns and they looked amazing. My husband had the tuna and he said it was awesome. My husband had the beet salad and he said it was awesome. As per our waiter the octopus appetizer is the top seller. I can see why. The octopus was so tender it melted in your mouth. The hummus and pita which was provided after we sat down was awesome. Our service was amazing, we had three types of wine and the waiter was kind enough to provide with wine glasses for each drink , red wine, white wine. They also kept the white wine on ice. Water glasses were kept filled and plates removed quickly between courses. Ambiance and noise level was perfect. Not to loud, But not quiet. The four of us could actually talk. The restaurant called me an hour or so before arrival to confirm we were coming. We ended up with four instead of six due to illness and the host was fine with that, our table for four, Not six was ready when we arrived. The prices are a bit high, but quality of food and chef's cooking ability was hands down wonderful. Portions were also generous. I have no problem paying for quality food and ambiance when dining. Santo, our server was excellent. He was kind enough to bring us a taste of falafels which is not on the menu. We will definitely dine there again. Thanks to the staff at EVOO and Lemon. read more

Great COVID dining, fantastic food, prices are slightly steep but food quality is fantastic. The only reason they are getting a 4 out of 5 is because they need to put their gyro on their dinner menu! It is seriously the best gyro out there and it's disappointing I can't get it for dinner as well... the gyro platter was fantastic. A good friend and I came here the other day. She had been telling me how good this place was and recommended it awhile back. The restaurant is in Millburn bordering Short Hills. The street was blocked off so cars couldn't enter that area. Tables and chairs were neatly placed in the street and several dining establishments in that area shared the space in which people ate and drank. I'm not sure what the restaurant looked like inside but my friend insisted we eat outside as it was a beautiful day. When we walked up to the host to request to be seated, we were told the credit card machine wasn't working and we needed to pay cash. Luckily, my bank was right up the street so after a quick 10 minute walk, we walked to the bank to get cash and arrived back to the restaurant. We ordered several dishes and was given some type of complimentary pita bread and hummus. I wasn't aware of their BYOB policy and it was too last minute for us to try and grab a bottle of wine. The waiter suggested we go across the street and order a coconut mint drink which my friend did. The food was amazing and everything came to $88 before the tip. So I stopped by this place for lunch today. I ordered my meal via phone with a nice young man. I ordered the falafel platter and it came to $15.99. When I arrived I found parking nearby. I walked in and the man that took my order greeted me by name. He grabbed my food for me and I paid and left. When I got in I dug in. There was plenty of food and it was tasty and filling. All in all I had a good experience and will try more in the future. read more

Evoo & lemon came highly recommended by many of our friends. The restaurant blocks out Saturday nights for the Paper Mill play house so we had to make our reservation either early or late, which was fine. The restaurant was able to accommodate us with a high chair, which we appreciated. The space is tight, but we knew it probably wasn't the idea place for a 1 1/2 year old. The food was just ok. The fried cheese app that everyone recommended was disappointing. It was cold and tough. We also split the shrimp appetizer which was just ok. The lamb chops were cooked very well and my husband enjoyed his bronzino. One of the best things was that they made my son grilled chicken and fries instead of chicken fingers. We loved that. Ordered Falafel and it came after some time. I started eating one and I felt like I was biting a stone. Call the guy and showed it to him. He took back to show the chef. Later, another guy (I guess manager or someone, he was taking orders from all the tables) came and said it's a nut. I mean common. I know the difference between a nut and a stone. I couldn't literally break it. We ordered Lamb chops as well and asked for well done. They are not well done. I am a huge fan of lamb chops and this is not close to well done. Probably medium done. When we told the guy who took order from us, he was like ahhh ok. They are $40 and Deff not worth the price. Grilled octopus was excellent and a generous portion. I liked that the octopus was already cut up. Salmon portion was insane, this could easily be shared among 2 people. The fish was cooked nicely and came with spinach, capers, beers and farro. My friend's tiger shrimp was also a generous portion. It's an intimate restaurant with some seating up front and some in the back. Service was mixed, was not a big fan of our waiter. He was a bit put offish when we asked him to describe the two octopus mezzes, didn't really come by to refill our waters, and didn't mention dessert at the end. read more

I normally don't go to the Millburn/Summit area but we had tickets for a documentary and decided to try Evoo & Lemon on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant is quaint with convenient parking in the back of the restaurant. Service was good overall- the kitchen could have sent the appetizers out together but not a deal breaker by any means. It was hard to make our selections since the menu is quite interesting, so we ate a little extra. Appetizers: GRILLED OCTOPUS-fava pure- Excellent, tender, nicely sliced and the fava bean puree added the perfect touch. AUTHENTIC MARYLAND CRAB -delicious-generous portion. The lemon-thyme aioli totally enhanced the crab SPANAKOPITA-house-made phyllo, spinach filling was delish! Entrees Black Sea Bass Seafood couscous A side of truffle french fries Again, all excellent. First time visiting Evoo and it was spectacular. Had the signature salad and lentil soup. The food is superb and they offered wonderful service , Konstantinos was amazing . My fiance and I have come here a couple of times and both times we really enjoyed the food and the service is always pleasant. Sorry to post a photo of food that was already eaten, but I couldn't wait to dive in! We also had the octopus and greek salad (although, the Greek salad didn't have the traditional dressing, it was still very delicious). I also love that they serve hummus with veggies and pita bread (we preferred just the veggies and returned the pita). EVOO has given us the gift of a dreamworthy octopus salad, An octopus grilled and seasoned so perfectly that it even converted my husband into an octopus-fan. Mind you, we have traveled throughout Spain, the supposed mecca of the grilled octopus, which never convinced him. This rendition is melt in your mouth fresh and tender. I LOVED the pan seared scallops (yum) with spinach risotto and served with crispy candied prosciutto (double yum). This place is BYOB, too, so make sure to bring a bottle of wine! What a wonderful experience! I ate here with my wife and 2.5 year old on a Thursday night at 8pm. The manager was very friendly even after we waffled back and forth about sitting inside vs outside. We eventually took the outside seats. Service was prompt and professional. Nothing to complain about. Appetizer: - Hummus was outstanding. Very fresh and high quality ingredients. Only drawback is I prefer thicker double layer pita - Baba Ganoush was amazing. You could taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients here too! - Grilled Calamari was delightful. Really fresh and delicious food in downtown Millburn. Definitely worth the trip! A friend and I ate here one weekday night and were very impressed. We didn't have a reservation but were able to get a table. It's a warm, cozy, light environment with an open kitchen and fish displayed in the front. They have your standard Mediterranean dishes including alot of seafood and meat and all the traditional appetizers. Service was really good - attentive w/o being ever present - and our server kept our to go bags in the kitchen until we were ready to go so that it wouldn't take up room on the table which was very nice. They start you with humus, olives, and fresh crusty bread with olive oil. Everything tasted so fresh so I was excited for our food. I had to start with the tzatziki and we also tried the taramosalata and htipiti dip. Tzatziki tasted incredibly flavor and fresh. Wasn't a fan of the taramosalata dip but the htipiti had a lot of heat with some different flavors which I liked. The seafood couscous was standout. The piece of shrimp, clams, mussels - all were cooked so perfectly as was the couscous. It was just a really good dish with all the components working together. Whatever you do, don't call this place "eee-voo and lem-mon." That really grinds my gears. Rachel Ray got the whole world to call extra virgin olive oil E-V-O-O. Yes, you say every letter. Don't say eeee-voo. Please. Anyways this place is great. The have wonderful mezzes or appetizers for brunch. The food was carefully prepared. My friend had the farro and beet. Her husband had spanokopita but made like tiropitas with a yogurt cucumber sauce. I had a great salad and a roast pepper with cheese inside. We also tried the hummus- it was so fresh and light. It just doesnt compare to store bought hummus. We also tried the delish gigante bean in tomato sauce. I don' t know much about Greek food but this place was a nice surprise. I guess there are great restaurants in the Soma/Millburn area! The service was great and knowledgeable. I love it when the waiter can be a guide and explain the dishes a bit. This was a fun brunch experience. We went early in the afternoon so we didnt need to reserve but I am sure you will need reservations on a Friday or Saturday night. We all have been doing a lot of takeout during the pandemic/quarantine, and I finally found a winner! What a hidden gem in downtown Millburn! We ordered the keftedes; octopus (fantastic); Mediterranean chicken bowl with hummus and the Gyro platter (beef and lamb). Huge portions and QUALITY food. One of the better octopus/pulpo dishes we have had in NJ. When they reopen for indoor dining, we are definitely going for dinner. In the meantime, happy to pick it up and bring it home to Summit! First time we went there, we called ahead and was told that we could walk in. After going there, we were asked for our reservation and told that there are no tables available. Yesterday we decided to give them another try. My husband called them and asked if we need a reservation, the person on the phone said no you can just walk in. We arrived about 20 mins after the call. Guy at the front: do you have a reservation? My husband: no but we called and you said that we did not need a reservation (The place had couple of empty tables, one of them was next to the entrance) I got upset and asked him how could he tell us no reservation needed? Guy: sorry nothing available Another guy there: for how many? Us: 2 Then he goes I have this table next to the door do you want it? We ended up taking the table. Point being, the guy who asked for the reservation didn't even bother offering the least desirable table in the house. This happened second time. I feel like they want to see whom they are giving their damn table. I got a very negative vibe. To be fair(or unfair), we don't look like their average customer. We ordered following: To start off : hummus : 3/5 Baba ganoush:2.5/6. What I get at whole foods blows this away; frankly not close. Tzatziki: 4/5 Grilled octopus:3.5/5. Not rubbery but also lacking in the chargrilled flavor I have seen in other Greek and Spanish establishments. I have had octopus at only 5 places in my life as I am picky about it; this is 5th place. Signature salad: 3.5/5 For entreé we got the following: Dover sole: 4.5/5 Banzino 4.5/5 For dessert we got Baklava: 3/5. Soggy and wet, lacking the buttery richness of a "normal" well executed baklava. We also got black coffee - tastes like cost cutting. Didn't even finish coffee which I have no problem doing at dinner time and going to bed. Food was hit or miss; not the best Greek or Mediterranean seafood restaurant I've been to and definitely not at the price point. Only the fresh fish was up to par, and even then, the selection is limited compared to lithos in Livingston and even that is not the best I've ever had(that would be Kyma on piedmont in Buckhead, Atlanta) My only recommendation if you call them insist on making a reservation even if they say not needed as they are not forthcoming. Food is good not great at the price point and not good enough to justify the snooty attitude. read more

This place has to be the worst mediterranean food I've ever had. As someone who has grown up in the middle east, I can tell this is fake mediterranean food. They serve frozen food in their platters - frozen lamb shanks microwaved and served, the pita bread is the 2$ one you get in a grocery store. Don't waste your time and money here. read more

Fantastic spot for fresh and carefully prepared Mediterranean fare. We stopped by for lunch and decided to just order a few appetizers. It was a terrific decision! The grilled octopus was amazing and we cooked to perfection and served on top of some pureed favs beans. The warm octopus combined with the cold fava made a nice contrast. Preparing octopus correctly is no easy matter. But the chef here knows what he's doing! We also had the Shrimp Santorini, which was very good, very large shrimp, sauce wasn't too heavy. The Belle of the Ball was the crab cake. Tremendous! Not just in size but in amount of crab! And surprise! This wasn't your usual ground up crabmeat mixed with bread crumbs. This was totally lump crab! Nothing else! I was very impressed having grown up with my grandfather's home made crab cakes. Dont miss this dish! Would love to come back here with my wife for dinner. Pro's: - I ordered their Angry Shrimp dinner, which consisted of their homemade Fettuccine, Fresno Pepper, mixed with Tomato Broth and Basil - and of course, Shrimp for $23.00. What I was served was a plate of heaven! 4 Big Ole' Shrimps outlined my plate of homemade yumminess! It had a hint of spiciness that really put together this meal! You can't go wrong with this dish! - Extremely courteous service was provided by our Server! - Reasonable prices and you get bang for your buck! - Served a complimentary piece of Baklava for dessert - Very nice touch. Was told certain items weren't available, and then overheard other customers ask for the same thing a few minutes later and receive it. Plenty of other places nearby with similar, if not better, items on their menus! Extremely rude owner who doesn't care about customers at all. I've never met an owner so disrespectful as this one. If you don't care about anything, including being kind to customers, you don't deserve the business. Word of advice: Go somewhere else to businesses that actually care about their patrons. read more

Knew it was going to be good as soon as they settled the complimentary bread on table. It was drizzled with incredible incredible fresh olive oil, and came with olives and a yummy homemade hummus spread. We had the grilled octopus salad to start, and it is a MUST GET! The portion is large enough to be an entree. The octopus is soo soft and flavorful, and sits on a bed of arugula, lemon and a fava purée that my mom couldn't stop eating! For entrees, the whole branzini is a real standout. It was prepared p.e.r.f.e.c.t.l.y. -- the filet was tender, and the skin was flavorful. There was a slight char from the grill that added to character to the gentle dish. The dressing showcased the power of cooking with quality olive oil. Everything about the branzini dish complimented each other and came together wonderfully. It came with French green beans on the side that were very clearly organic and also sautéed perfectly. The service is warm, hospitable, and very attentive. All the staff members are genuinely friendly and knowledgeable. We also never had an empty plate or drink glass sitting on the table for more than a few seconds. As the meal was coming to an end, I was wondering how they could get everything so right, and by chance met the manager/chef. His accent is European, most likely Mediterranean - the real deal.
