These guys are the most honest plumbers in the county. We've used them for years, with clients and in our own home. Last week a young man, I assume is part of the family, came by to fix a faulty shower handle. He arrived at exactly the time of our appointment, took off his shoes and was cheerful and very respectful - which is nice because I work from home, so having people in the house can be disturbing. He fixed the faucet, even replacing a handle with one that was almost exactly like the broken one had no problem sending us a bill. Honest, cute and and very fair pricing. There is a very good reason for all the 5 star reviews. Devoto Plumbing is punctual, honest and very reasonable. Oh, and they do excellent work. I noticed a small leak in the upstairs toilet and my wife remembered that someone had recommended Devoto for any and all plumbing needs. Called and got an appointment, Sean arrived exactly on schedule and quickly changed the toilet assembly and fixed the leak. When he was nearly finished we asked if he could do the same with the downstairs toilet as it had recently began "sticking" (continue to run). Not a problem and it was also quickly fixed. Fast, efficient, honest and fairly priced. These days it is difficult to find those traits in home repair companies. Devoto Plumbing has them all. I cannot recommend DeVoto Plumbing. They repaired my mother's leaking tub drain in 2004 and we just had to have the work completely redone because it started leaking again. When a shower drain is behind sheet rock in the ceiling of a kitchen tell me why a plumber would use a rubber gasket and a clamp to fix a leak? Tell me why a plumber would not spend a little more time, and charge a little more money to create a permanent fix? A fix where a rubber gasket would not break down and start leaking again? Where the whole ceiling has to be opened up again to fix the problem? One does NOT do temporary fixes to plumbing that is inside walls and ceilings. I am angry that this work is having to be done a second time and this time a new plumber will fix it correctly. read more

I have used Rob Devoto both personally and for the HOA I belong to. I suppose the most important thing I can say about Rob and Sean is that they absolutely know what they are doing. There are lots of fake "rooters" around town who have no professional training and often leave jobs worse than when they started. Rob is not one of them. He has fixed complicated problems other plumbers can't diagnose and he has fixed the simplest problems as well. When he's done, the job is done. Done right. Done once. Never a need for a callback for work he has signed off on. The second thing I can say is that in spite of their superior service, they charge fair rates. I have never felt over charged or taken advantage of in any way. The third thing is that this family run company is filled with people you will be happy to meet and know. It's a thoroughly authentic family business with professionalism at the core. In some ways I regret giving them such a great review because it means they may be too busy to see me from time to time, On the other hand, they deserve the exposure and people wise enough to search Yelp for recommendations will certainly benefit from just calling Rob when they need a plumber. Unfortunately, my experience with Devoto was not good. I always received a voice mail and my calls went unreturned. When I finally got through, I had them come out. First mistake. I had toilets replaced and should have received the proper paperwork to get the city rebate. They did not inform me about this. When I called and asked them about it, they did not return my calls yet again. Did they receive the rebate and not tell me? Disappointing to say the least. read more

Recently we had to do a shower replacement in our master bath. When we tore out the old one, we found that the original contractor did a funky install on the plumbing. Water lines and drains had to be re-routed before we could do the new tile. Rob at Devoto Plumbing was recommended by our tile company. Rob showed up quickly to assess the issues and assured us he could solve them. Within 2 days he was back to do the repairs and get us back on track. His prices were reasonable and did a very clean job to the requirements of the tile setter. He was very patient in answering questions I had about the job. I called three plumbing contractors, all recommended, to fix an ongoing problem. One never called back. One made an appointment, then showed up two hours late without a phone call. The third, Rob from Devoto, came early for our appointment after calling ahead to make sure it was OK, submitted a pretty reasonable bid, and was otherwise as professional as the others weren't. I found Devoto Plumbing a number of years ago after receiving a notice from the City of Cotati that I needed to get my backflow device tested. After talking with multiple companies, I chose Devoto Plumbing and have never looked back. While I have never met him personally (to test the backflow device, he doesn't need access to the house and I don't have to be home), I have called numerous times to make sure that the work would be done by the time specified by the city. I talk with Rob everytime, he remembers my name and my address and when the testing needs to be complete. I can't say enough good things about Rob and the rest of the staff at Devoto Plumbing. There was no mess left behind, he was happy take his boots off (which I like because I try to keep my carpets clean). When our water heater died, we used a friend of a friend to replace it. He was a local plumber, great price, but within a year it died and calls to him to come and fix it went unanswered. We called another local plumber, major national company, thinking we should go that route this time. They said they could replace the part, for a decent price, but it would take 7 days. . .or they can put in a whole new unit for close to $3,000! So replacing the part, with the reasonable price, would leave us without water for a week? Pace Supply, a plumbing distributor is in Rohnert Park, but we have to wait 7 days? I highly doubt they even called Pace to see if the part was in stock. We called a plumber we know in Napa, who got Devoto Plumbing to come out to help us. I cannot tell you how amazingly wonderful it was to finally get a plumber who knows what he's doing, does it right the first time, and cleans up after himself. Rob & his family were so honest and awesome in helping us with our "power flush" toilet that wouldn't really flush. We had about 6 to 7 plumbing companies come out and bid the project but Devoto Plumbing was a reasonable price and they were courteous and respectful, so we hired them to fix our toilet. When they got into it, they found that what every plumbing company had said was the problem, wasn't actually the problem at all. They put everything back the way it was and didn't charge us anything for their time. They then went further to completely inspect everything. They even contacted the city to have them come out to verify if we even needed the backflow system that was here and that we have to pay to have inspected every year. We didn't and Devoto was able to come and remove that old system and replace the old toilet with a new one since we wanted that anyway. They were careful of their noise and disruptions since we have commercial tenants above us and we see clients in our office as well. Being a first time home owner, I was a bit perplexed on who to call when two of my toilets, as well as my hot water heater, started acting up. Luckily, a co-worker highly recommended Devoto Plumbing, praising their service and professionalism. Needless to say, I was far from disappointed with her recommendation. The plumber who came to my home, Sean, was wonderful, even removing his shoes without second thought, which says a lot for this germaphobe. He successfully unclogged my two toilets, and fixed my hot water heater, which thankfully just needed to be thoroughly cleaned of accumulated dust, all within a hour. He even noticed my master bathroom sink could use a little hair "de-gunking" and fixed that as well. All in all, Sean fixed four problems in my home at a very reasonable price, all while being very courteous and professional.
