    Awesome Israeli food!

Fresh, clean, local authentic! Probably the healthiest takeout in Ardmore and so flavorful. I ordered the beef kabob today - similar to the Iranian - koobideh and Turkish - kofta kabobs. Diff spices. Kabobs are grilled so not greasy. Crunch red cabbage salad with olive oil and a light salt and vinegar- cucumber tomato dill - freshly made and the hummus perfect texture. The green herb hot sauce is the bomb! Herbs with some chili. The bread looks like it comes delivered fresh from a bakery. Super soft and delicious. Catering family get together for Xmas- they are vegan so I ordered the falafel - which is the best I've had . The owner is super nice. Support local but the winner is eat healthier. Hummus Kitchen! Yay!

I stopped by on my way home on a Saturday evening. I wasn't sure what I wanted so I played it safe and went to my go to staple, salmon - I ordered a grilled salmon platter with rice, hummus, Israeli salad and pickled purple cabbage and it came with a warm, wheat pita. I paid for my food and then waited - I was told that the food may take 20 to 25 mins but I'm sure it took less time :-) Overall I enjoyed my food; the salmon was cooked perfectly and the hummus had good flavor.

I'm torn between a 2 and a 3 today. I got the veggie platter with rice, cucumber, carrots, and pita. I also got fries for later. The carrots were extreeeeeeeemely over seasoned and the rest of the food had no seasoning at all. It was confusing. I really thought just some salt on each item could make it so much more flavorful. The pita was nice and fluffy and soft, so I enjoyed it. Overall I'd order from here again but definitely no carrots and definitely need some salt packets (which I never normally use). Edit: Moving this down to a 2, since I found out that they put ALL the salt in their fries. That's where it went. Almost inedible.

Side of Fried Carrots and Cauliflower $5.50

If I weren't comparing this to the former Hummus Grille which we love and still visit in University City, I'd probably think the food were slightly better, but... Food was good. We had the falafel sandwich which was much much too dry and all the good stuff was distributed to the bottom of the pita. They were out of tzatziki, too. We had a side of hummus which we generously applied to the sandwich for moisture. Good flavors though. We had a side of French fries which were good. Moist like I like them . Wish I had some tzatziki to dip them into though!! We also had a side of the cauliflower and carrots which I think were the best part of the meal. The carrots were delicious! $5.50 for the small portion (see photo) is expensive though! All in all, pretty good food. The wait though...as others have said, they don't have their timing down. We waited and waited like the others!

Treated my oldest daughter to lunch here recently and she loved it! She is rather hard to impress, since she and her fiancé are always going out to all kinds of fancy restaurants, so I was tickled pink that she loved Hummus. Momma did good LOL! Oh, and my 8 month old grandson loved it too - he couldn't get enough hummus or chicken shwarma. The two ladies there smiled at him and didn't seem to have any problem with him being there. He even squealed a time or two, but it was no big deal.

Combination platter of Schwarma and chicken. Contains french fries, fried eggplant, baba ganouch, falafel, hummus and a pita.

There isn't a ton of Israeli restaurants in the Philly area so this place breaks the monotony of pizza places, cheesesteak joints and take out Chinese. The food here is excellent but the price is a bit steep. After all though it is located on the Main line. It's hard to find a place with authentic Schwarma rotating on a horizontal spit but this place has it and it is succulent. The veggie sides are all fresh and full of flavor. Great outdoor deck and BYO.

It's such a good starter as it's not too heavy. My only critique is that it needs to come with more focaccia. I enjoyed it so much I'll be ordering it as a to-go lunch soon. My husband really enjoyed the calamari but I didn't. It's more like a soup which isn't what I was expecting. For my entree I had the special which was gnocchi with shrimp and crab meat in a tomato based sauce. Excellent! They didn't skimp on the crab meat, the gnocchi was perfectly cooked and the sauce was plentiful. Just so good! My husband had the Za'atar Chicken. He said it was good but didn't love it. I tasted it and agreed. It needed more of the lemon tahini and mint yogurt. Service is always good. The restaurant is nice and the tables aren't too close to each other but it can get loud in the dining room.

The moment you walk in, the vibe hits you first: vibrant colors, rustic touches, and an ambiance that feels like stepping into someone's family dining room back in Italy. It's authentic, comforting, and alive with culture. The food? Unreal. Their **homemade bread** sets the tone -- rustic, fresh, and full of that old-world character. The **pizza** is on another level with dough that's so good it almost steals the show. Every pasta dish carries that handcrafted feel, the kind that tells you the recipe didn't come from a cookbook -- it came from memory. Appetizers are just as impressive, but the **grilled octopus** stands out as a true star. Perfectly cooked, deeply flavorful, and proof that Exit 13 puts heart into every dish. This is the kind of spot where the atmosphere and the food work together -- where the vibe feels like home and the flavors taste like heritage. Exit 13 doesn't just serve Italian cuisine. The service was very good: attentive and friendly. The ambiance is similar to Not Your Average Joe's in Ardmore with the upstairs/balcony seating and downstairs and big screen TV showing sports, but much noisier, especially as the upstairs also was filled with guests. By the time we left at 7:45pm after a 6:45pm reservation, it was loud enough that we had to fairly shout at each other to continue our conversation. The food was okay, except the salad which was excellent, but not worth returning for just the salad. - beet salad - 4.5/5, plentiful small diced red and yellow beets, avocado, arugula, a light dressing and burrato with crushed pistachios. a very solid starter salad and the server kindly split a large order into two small plates for us to share - fried calamari - 3/5, having just eaten at Estia last night which has a very good fried calamari, this one was not breaded as consistently and some of the pieces were a tad on the large side for a reasonable bite and too chewy to be cut with the fork or knife. - penne puttanesca - 3/5, my husband ordered this and while he not a self-proclaimed foodie, for him to say it was just okay means it was really just okay - linguine vongole - 3/5, points for the very plentiful offering of clams, i counted probably 20 generously sized clams (sometimes you get miniscule clams with this dish), but overall the sauce was too salty and there's not much you can do to fix that, and the linguine was a bit overcooked, definitely not even close to al dente We skipped dessert as by that point our ears were starting to ring with the high decibels coming from around us on the balcony and the floor below. It looked like a lot of people were having a good time so maybe it's just not for us.

The ground lamb didn't overpower the already expertly executed hummus and added fantastic depth and richness. We also sprung for the grilled calamari tubes and the chef did a great job of not overcooking while achieving an excellent char. We shared the baked cod and the spice was delicate and perfect. Using cured lemon was a very clever idea as the sauce was not too strong but still had depth; the saffron and turmeric were well balanced. The fish itself was NOT overcooked and flaked perfectly. The vegetables were also executed well and cooked so they could be eaten with the same bite. The star of the show was still the cook on the fish with the wonderful sauce. Service was attentive although funny in that our server would ask us how our next dish was immediately after it had been placed in front of us and before we had a bite. It happened three times! So maybe not quite as attentive come to think of it. We both ordered from the prix fixe menu (sharing the appetizers) which is a good deal, and I don't remember so many items involving an upcharge so that's new to me. - fried calamari - 4/5, very good, nice aioli dipping sauce, breading was consistent and not too heavy, light tasting and delicious - greek salad - 4/5, I usually love this and it was still delicious and fresh but I noticed that 1) they've changed the name so it's no longer called horiatiki, and 2) we had a very small piece of feta with the salad whereas in the past the ratio of feta to the tomatoes, green peppers, red onions, cucumbers has been more even. And now there's a $6 supplement charge for this appetizer which seems like A LOT for a salad. Next time I might skip this because of the upcharge - lavraki - 5/5, this light white fish is just the right amount of flavor and portion and my go to choice when I go to Estia. Also a $6 upcharge but this seemed more worth it - baklava - 5*/5, also a $2 upcharge but worth it as these four pieces of cylindrical baklava, while a little difficult to eat (use your hand? try to cut a cylinder with a fork?) it is an excellent baklava We went at 5pm before it got too busy and were seated away from the bar so we were able to have a quiet conversation but as the restaurant filled it definitely got noisier and I would not want to be seated near the bar. They do have a lovely outdoor area at the front and side of the restaurant so we could have sat outside since last night was quite mild in weather. I was celebrating my birthday a few days early. There was plenty of parking available. The hosts at the front desk and our waitress/wait staff were all very, very kind. It was a pleasure dealing with everyone here. The interior is decorated beautifully. The restaurant provides complimentary hummus with sliced bread or pita bread. We chose the pita bread. The hummus was delightful. Super creamy and flavorful. I ordered the Dionysius cocktail which was quite refreshing and light. I was in the mood for a carbonated drink and this was perfect. The Estia Chips are a MUST, especially if you're a zucchini and eggplant fan. These little half moons were fried to perfection and come with a side of tzatziki. I was sad when we finished them. Their tuna is cooked rare (it's reflected on the menu as such) but oh so yummy. I was expecting a steak, but instead, squared pieces of tuna wrapped around sautéed spinach were served to me. Highly suggest this! One thing about me is I always leave room for dessert, and I was with my fiancé who loves cheesecake so we asked for that. The pistachio crust was excellent. I had never tasted anything like this before. It was my first time having Greek food, but it definitely won't be my last!
