This is the best team I've used since I started my new house constructions at Belmont. I hired EPS to do trenching for my gas, electric, water and fire sprinkler lines. I obtained quotes from 3 different companies. EPS's quote was comparable to another company while the third one was way high. Joe, the project manager, explained all steps and fees to me patiently. I felt comfortable to go with them and I am so glad about my decision. The whole team was amazing. Bill, the field manager, was detail oriented, sincere and knowledgeable. All work was completed professionally and flawlessly within few weeks (while most of the time were spent on waiting for inspection schedule). We passed all inspections with no surprise. In-between my general contractor threw a surprise and I have to find somebody to connect the main sewer. Joe and Bill came to the rescue. Their team finished the additional task in no time. Since I like to see how things are done, I was on the job site most of the time. I can tell that their team has great spirit and good dynamic. My family has used Express Plumbing twice in the last couple of years. Al came the first time to replace a high pressure tank that went out in my moms toilet and the second time, Amin came to help with closing a water line for my mom's new fridge. We had a lot on confusion with the appliance company about an existing water line and Amin was so good about explaining and resolving the issue very quickly. Ok so nobody likes a blocked toilet that you can't seem to clear. Especially when you flush it and brown liquid fecal matter keeps rising in the bowl and then starts to fill up the adjacent shower. Thank God when they redid this house they put in showers with three inch tall edges or the stuff woulda been all over the brand new very expensive tile floor. Bad enough but worse in that it happened at 1000pm. A quick review of emergency plumbers got one call rebuffed by one who was too busy to get to it. Never call you again. Reading Express Plumbing reviews proved good news. Jonathan was out within a half hour. Great young man and his five years experience showed well as he finally found the main to the street (the house is 120 plus years old) and quickly discovered the roots growing in the pipe causing the block. Quick rooter solved the problem and very happily waiting for him to do the suggested camera insert to nail it down. Can't say enough about Jonathan and Express Plumbing. Javier (the Foreman) had his team complete the work according to schedule and did a great job. I spoke with the Operations Manager, Joe, who had warned me that roots had entered an old section of the pipe that was not included in the original bid. Joe sent out a team to snake the line that day (free of charge) but when we couldn't clear that section with the snake, Joe had his team replace the section of pipe for free because he didn't want us to have any more problems with it.  Joe, Javier, and Express Plumbing saved me thousands of dollars -- and a lot of headache. read more

I never write a review, but today, Express Plumbing gets one. 5 stars!! This is the 2nd time this month that I've had issues with plumbing and needed emergency service. Of course both times was on a Sunday after 5, and I figured I'd have to wait until Monday. I called a couple of companies and left messages, and didn't hear back, so I tried Express Plumbing. Fortunately, they have an answering service and they were very courteous and professional. They immediately called the owner on the phone, but he was on another call and the service said he'd call back shortly. Sure enough, I got a call back within 10 minutes and had their service tech knocking on my door within 30 minutes. They fixed the problem and had us cleaned up within 30-40 minutes. I experienced the same service the 2nd time, so I have to give them a high five! Will was the service tech on the 1st call and Luis was on the 2nd. This summer I had high hopes for Express for doing a trenchless sewer lateral replacement. A few days before the job was supposed to begin, they called to say that PG&E called them to say that the job couldn't be done trenchless because it was too close to a gas line. They offered to do the job the traditional nontrenchless way--but wanted to charge more than double the original contract price. I canceled the job. And I called PG&E. They had no record of any communication with Express. This was after Express spent most of the deposit on a worthless permit and ambiguous office time. They did give a partial refund promptly, but they kept $127 for office work? They said they could do the job. Then they said they couldn't. Paying for a permit is one thing, but why should I have to pay for their time filing and making calls when they misjudged the job? read more

I've used them only once for plumbing. Our drain to our kitchen sink was plugged. We snaked it first using one we had, the guy who came in to do the work snaked it again with the same length snake and it didn't fix it. He used a longer one and got it. We told him we snaked it with a short one (gave specific length) and he duplicated our work. However he only charged us for an hour even though he was there longer - which I feel was fair because if he had listened to us he would have been there less than an hour. My real complaint with these folks is their office. They park their HUGE trucks all over Amphlett AND on their front drive which completely blocks the view of speeding cars down Amphlett. They have a huge garage and parking lot, but the folks here feel that they should park in front of the building on what would be the sidewalk. I feel that business should care about the neighborhoods that they are in and safety and these guys would rather save a few steps than park in a way that allows people to turn onto Amphlett with a clear view of the street. read more

Original review: We've had this service come out several times for snaking an outdoor pipe. We've been happy with their prices and service. I think Al (and his coworker - can't remember his name) are honest and do good work. I guess it depends WHO comes to service you. Ask for Al. We had very bad experience with a Discount Plumbing a few yrs back. Their "day laborers" were not supervised well. Which caused several problems resulting with BBB contact and threatening law suit. ABSOLUTE GARBAGE. these guys have absoluetly no clue what they are doing. the "tech" we had was a bumbling fool and wasted a whole day "looking for parts". the next day we (superbowl sunday!) we found the parts needed in 1 hour & ended up doing the job ourselves. Had Johnnie to give me an estimate on a rough in to a main swerve line. He told me he would get an estimate emailed to me by the end if the day and could even start the job within a week. 3 days no estimate. Called 3x to ask and was told he was working on it. Blew me off. If I have to chase them down to even get an estimate, how can I trust that they will show up to do the job? We had a water leak that I hadn't been able to isolate, and a clogged sink that evaded our best efforts to unclog. Express Plumbing replied promptly to my on-line request for help, and sent Luis (who is a gem) the next morning. He isolated the leak to an outdoor irrigation system despite a lot of noise from construction next door making it hard to hear water flow, and the troubled sink is now flowing freely. We discovered a propane gas leak yesterday. We smelled propane and also noticed that our tank was nearly empty, after being filled only a few days ago. Cindy sent someone out to help ASAP, which ended up being only about an hour. The fellow got to work digging us a new gas line and kept working until it was done, despite the dark and the cold and the rain. We REALLY appreciate this friendly, quick, and efficient help. A gas leak is a dangerous situation, and also left us without heat or ability to use our stove, but thanks to Express Plumbing, within a couple hours we were safe and cozy again. Ever have a clogged kitchen drain back up in a major holiday weekend? We did again. Luckily I had Al's cell phone to contact him directly, after trying to Express Plumbing Office on Dec 31 afternoon, when the office was closed. Al took the call while away on vacation and instantly called one EPS service repairmen on duty. Within 20 minutes after that call to Al, his colleague was on the jobsite with his electric snake to clear the clogged line in about 10 minutes or less. So I just want to say how responsible company is towards upholding its corporate citizenship. Our old 1940's era house had a serious sewer problem. After having several backups and emergency rooter calls from various plumbers, Joseph Dometita from Express Plumbing came out to the house and after a thorough inspection diagnosed the problem. The sewer line was the original and made of a material called "orangeburg," a substitute for cast iron, that was used when iron was scarce around the time of WWII. The big problem was that the sewer line ran under the driveway, under a flagstone patio and close to a nice brick stairway. The sewer line was broken in many places allowing tree roots to enter and it was collapsing! Express Plumbing offered a "trenchless" sewer line replacement as a solution. Their bid was very reasonable and included all the necessary permits and inspections. It was amazing to see the work crew pull this 80 foot long replacement pipe underground to replace the failing sewer line! I was so thankful that my driveway, patio and stairs were spared and we now do not have to worry about any sewer line backups. I cannot say enough kind words about the professional manor of Joe and his crew. The crew worked very hard and with care and left the job site clean and tidy. They had to dig deep holes in the middle of our street to connect our new sewer line to the sewer main line that runs in the middle of the busy road. It was apparent that although this was a daunting challenge, they proceeded with skills backed by experience. They all worked closely together and quickly so that we were not stranded without a useable sewer line for very long (only a few hours!). I highly recommend Express Plumbing. They solved our serious sewer problems and spared our driveway, patio and stairway which saved us lots of money as well. Many thanks to Joe and his crew for doing such a tremendous job! read more

Oscar did a fantastic job fixing my leaking tub and clogged sink. His supervisor Al called ahead of time to ask for photos of the tub faucet so Oscar could be sure to have the parts before he arrived, so he could fix the problem in one trip. Oscar was competent, friendly, and professional. Although it was fortunately not necessary to replace the faucet, Oscar was creative in discovering a way to replace the faucet without having to destroy the tile around it. We have an older home with lots of ongoing plumbing issues over the years, and used a number of plumbers for various cleanouts, etc. I think we've found a real "winner" with Express Plumbing! Very responsive, knowledgeable, great work, good price - and the teamwork is really there from front office to service team to billing. We had a great experience with them a previous time, and called them again when we needed to replace 2 old toilets. This is the best plumbing company ever! Young man came out on Christmas morning to try and get our plumbing fixed. He worked all afternoon and the charge was very reasonable. The plumbing was much worse than we had anticipated but within a week they had it fixed. They had to dig up the street pick up our lawn put in a new clean out we had never had one and when they finished you would not have known anything had happened everything looked spotless. We had a catastrophic plumbing failure at our house, the main line leaked under the house and our lateral sewer collapsed. Jon and Joe came out with a crew and made 'better'. They worked their schedule to get it done quickly, efficiently and right. They discovered another issue and were able to quickly modify schedules to get it reported so our plumbing could still be used in the house. This company is disreputable. I am still so disgusted with them that I want to share what a horrific experience we had. We had an awful sewage smell coming from under our house. I looked in the Yellow Pages to find a plumber and called Express Plumbing. On 5-19-03, Scott Brand, estimator, diagnosed a drain pipe under our house (kitchen area) that had a hole in it & was leaking sewage. He also said there was another pipe (near the front of house) that needed to have the angle adjusted. He gave me an estimate of $875 for two workers for at least 4 hours of labor. On 5-20-03, Miguel & partner from Express Plumbing, were under the house for one hour, said the repair was done & left. We called Express Plumbing to ask how the job could have been done so quickly & why we paid $875 for one hour of labor. Neither Nick or Scott returned out call. We used our bathrooms, kitchen, and washer, thinking the repair was complete. On 5-21-03, Olympia Restoration sent 4 technicians to finish clean up of the soil from the leak. They found the leaking pipe had not been repaired and was continuing to leak sewage. We immediately called Scott at Express Plumbing and he returned. He said the broken pipe had not been fixed, that just the one near the front of the house had been re-angled. He called for a helper, and they repaired the broken pipe. It took them a little over an hour. On 7-16-03 we wrote to Nick at Express Plumbing requesting reimbursement of the $335.20 we had to pay Olympia Restoration for the 4 technicians who came out on 5-21-03 and could not do the clean-up because the pipe was still broken. On 7-27-03 we called Nick since we received no response to our letter. He said Miguel stated he replaced the leaking pipe near the front of the house. I told Nick there was no leaking pipe near the front of the house, that the broken pipe was under the kitchen. I asked him to speak with Scott for the true story. On 7-31-03 we received a letter from Express stating they would not reimburse the $335.20. We wrote back asking for payment of the $335.20 or we would take legal action. We have invoices from Express Plumbing & another contractor stating only one pipe was broken. We also have photos Scott took. Express Plumbing should have been grateful a tarp was left under the broken pipe so that they did not have to pay for additional clean-up because we used our plumbing and were not aware the pipe had not been repaired. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and Contractors State Licensing Board. They refused to pay. Nick, the owner, showed up at Small Claims and treated me with total disrespect. He gave me the money to avoid going into court, but said it was obvious that I was not telling the truth. Express Plumbing is incompetent, deceptive, and dishonorable. read more
