First, with a positive, the follow up and customer service is great. It has to be, due to the following comments listed. 2. Moved a 1 bedroom apt( bedframe , mattress, dresser , 2 TVs , and a sofa), and it took 5 hours , with a locked elevator , in the same building, separated by 2 floors.Everything additional was boxed or bagged. No loose items. 3. They attempted to change the charges the day of the move , even though we had confirmed less than 24 hours prior. Claimed the 3rd person Was due to their double booking, snow , etc . And the additional man would speed up the process . Did i mention this simple 1 bedroom move took 5 hours for an in building, one bedroom transfer? Does that seem expedited ? Everything was a group effort, and teaching moment. this slowed the move down. For example, it Took 20 minutes of discussion to figure out how to disassemble a bed frame efficiently . Constantly going back and forth to the moving truck on the clock ( for what idk ) . If not watched , disappearing for 15-20 minutes at a time . 4. I was advised that I could leave my dresser items in the drawers, and they could move them efficiently. I now have to find someone to take my dresser apart, due to items some how making their way to inside unreachable areas insiders dresser. 5. I have to find someone to reassemble my sofa. They didn't put it back together. 6. You're charged 30 minutes to and from . So, you owe an hour before they start . They didn't have to leave the property, but charged me fuel . How do you charge someone fuel, and time for arrival, and departure ? Seems like the rate is only labor . You're also charged for any items used to rap to transport furniture . The intimation that they try to give you when you book is that is inclusionary. 7. With a discount, A DISCOUNT, this move cost me $1,000. Between the random 3rd man up charge , wrapping items for the large furniture , fuel charge , insurance that they make you cover that they don't disclose until the last minute that is almost $200 additional ... 8. Moved my items into the hallway, and left them there unattended while moving. 9. Even if you pay by phone, they want you to write your credit card information on a random piece of paper. It's a hard NO, for me. Yes, I signed, and let them go about their business. It's exhausting to keep debating obvious discrepancies, and hidden fees during a move which is a top 3 stressor in general. Just .... Don't . Use someone else .

    All My Sons Moving - Virginia North…read more This moving company needs to be investigated for fraud or deceptive business practices. I booked my move a week in advance and paid a $100 deposit after being told it would guarantee my moving date and secure my spot. Then, only 3 days before my scheduled move, the manager -- I believe his name was David -- called to tell me they were fully booked for the entire week and that my move would either need to be rescheduled or canceled altogether. I made it very clear from the beginning that my apartment lease ends on the 31st and that I needed to move before then. Had this company been honest about the fact that paying a deposit did not actually guarantee service, I would have hired another moving company much earlier. Now I'm left scrambling at the last minute, despite having everything planned out. I also have to report to work in another state on the 1st, so this has created a major inconvenience and unnecessary stress. To make matters worse, speaking with them on the phone was a complete disaster. The communication was unprofessional, disorganized, and unacceptable. They agreed to refund the $100 deposit, but that does not make up for the inconvenience, stress, and potential consequences this situation may cause me. If I receive penalties from my landlord for a late move-out or face any employment-related consequences because of this company's failure to honor their commitment, I will absolutely be exploring all possible legal and consumer protection options.

I insisted one day on talking to someone and the owner got on the phone and immediately started an argument with me and told me how things went and what happened. He was not present at my move. Clearly they do not care about customer service or word of mouth.

They are by no means the best choice…read more My move of a small one bedroom apartment less than 1 mile to a new location (both ground floor locations with easy access) turned into the biggest and most expensive move I have made to date. And I have moved on several occasions including a 3 bedroom home, 150 miles for cheaper than the cost of this move. I have heard and read about the horror stories so I am always careful to ask questions; I specifically asked the rep, Anna "are there any additional charges I should be aware of" and her response was "no, unless they need to use packing supplies" which I replied with "no, I have packed everything already". Now would have been a good time to tell me that all the materials that the movers will use to pack your furniture will be included in this packing charge. Anna quoted me 1 truck/2 men/3 hours ($224.41) - any successful company knows that a good business practice is to always under promise and over deliver. Best Choice has never heard of this business practice, it is under bid, reel you in and stick it to you. On the day of the move, Anna called to tell me the movers would be starting a couple of hours late so that she could send me the team that had the experts at removing mounted flat screen TVs. The move starts with 3 men showing, ok fine it will go faster (but the move also lasted 4 hours). And it took the "experts" 30 minutes (labor time) all three movers to remove the TV, which was a good use of the labor cost. The foreman also asked me to sign numerous documents, of course I know that I should read them - but now the clock is already ticking and it is getting dark, so I sign, I thought that I had asked all the questions I needed to. Funny thing, they loaded the truck one box at a time, but after they charged my card they unloaded the truck with a dolly - several boxes at a time (labor cost?). I did decide to ask the movers to move 4 pictures for me (they proceeded to bubble wrap and box them, which was overkill and not necessary), so I was expecting a minimal amount of charges for packing supplies. During the initial conversation with Anna she asked how many wardrobers I would need, I said 10. Surprise, they showed with 4, so I had to do two more trips AFTER they finished with my move to bring the remainder of my clothing. When we arrived at the new location we realized that a form that was necessary with my signature was still at the original location, the foreman STOPPED moving until I had gone back to my previous location and returned with that form (again additional labor time). Then the foreman hands me the bill for the move and it is $601 and my items will not be removed from the truck until I sign a credit card authorization form. Again I sign, I need my things, and I promptly call the manager hysterical. As you can imagine, I was completely shocked and upset, instead of trying to work with me the manager hung up on me. The charge for materials was $256; -I was being charged for all the tape and wrap used to wrap my furniture. The contract states that mattresses and box springs are required to be wrapped; it states nothing about any additional furniture pieces needing to be wrapped. So materials were used to wrap all pieces of my furniture which I did not ask for. In past moves this was included in the service being provided so I did not question those materials. The 4 pictures I asked the movers to move were the following lengths (40', 34', 34', 20' and a 46' TV) = if those items were wrapped it would total 26 ft of bubble wrap NOT the 50 feet I was charged $50 for. And further more the company could consider being green; I offered to the give the bubble wrap and boxes back, they were reusable, instead they materials were trashed. I did try to resolve the situation with the moving company, but after the initial conversation with Anna, I was not getting any response to my voicemails and emails. "We are working on it" would have been a professional response. But what I finally get is that now that I have threatened to voice my experience with their company on the web the "refund" that they are now issuing me is $24 - seriously is that even worth their an envelope and stamp? This was an incredibly upsetting situation. I am appalled that a professional moving company is able to get away with this type of customer service.

They were flexible with us as we had to reschedule due to weather, and had several complicated moves that were handled very well. As with any move, we took care ourselves to wrap things, communicate our needs and expectations, but I would do that with any mover. Ask questions, clarify and explain what you want. All furniture was wrapped carefully with moving blankets and secured and all breakables were treated with care. I've never seen a team of people work so hard!

It wasn't intentional, but the amount of damage we saw was much more than what I would have been okay with. The furniture and location was difficult however given that everything made it to where they needed to be, I'm sure it could have been done much more carefully. That made this pretty mid tier service. So 3 stars. And that's what we initially put in our review. But then after putting in our claim on damages with ample proof of damages, and also our honest review, my wife received a call from one of the movers asking us to take down the poor review because they would get in trouble with the owners. Now I'm wondering goes on behind the scenes because the good reviews seems much more shady now. How many other reviews got asked to be taken down? They got the move done and did it relatively quick given the difficulty. The price was rather high given the quality of work completed. And given how quick they were to request us to take a poor review down to me deserves an even poorer review. Honestly, if they had taken accountability right away to the damages I would have felt better about a simple 3 star review. I can't in good conscience recommend Zip Moving and Storage.

They had a four person crew, carts, packing supplies, and a huge truck. They were also fast once on location. What I really appreciated, though, is that they were all very friendly and polite. I found them through Yelp! and did consider using them. In the end we opted to go with a company with a little more of a solid reputation, just for our own personal peace of mind. Our move is not a cheap one, and when turning over all of your earthly possessions and a chunk of your savings, you have no choice but to err on the side of caution. That being said, Jamel was an absolute delight to deal with. He spent 2 days corresponding with me about our move, the inventory, and explaining every single penny we would be charged. I cant say enough positive things about his professionalism and customer service. Unfortunately for PMS, I am not much of a gambler. If you are, and are willing to give the new kid on the block a shot, you should call Jamel. Jamel, thank you taking the time to provide me with such a detailed quote. I do wish you the best of luck with the future of your business.
