Our storage unit was robbed and completely emptied 2 nights ago. We just were notified yesterday keep in mind we had locks on our unit and you need a code to come inside the building. So they cut the locks off the unit filled a whole black truck and came back hours later with 2 other cars for the rest. Very suspicious either an inside job or they just don't care enough. The employees have a screen of the cameras as there "working". Thank you very much extra space for the amazing customer service. read more

Don't rent from this facility - there's a huge mouse infestation(not random droppings, INFESTATION) at this facility. Apparently they spray every week to no avail. Mice got into my unit and ate my bedroom furniture, had to toss my wrapped bed (always get insurance). Understandably things happen but the lack of customer service and respect for customers does not exist here - people who work the front desk like Tim and Elizabeth are great, but their supervisor Antonio Mendoza is rude, condescending, and does not GAF about hearing you out, let alone attempt to resolve situations. In all my years of working customer service I've never had such a disrespectful experience in dealing with a supervisor like I did with him. i have had issues with the location since day one. 1. my move in day no one way there at work all day. 2.I was never told i have up unlt 15 mins before the location closes all the elevators and doors lock including the gate. a lot of my things where Loaded onto the elevator and the elevator locked and we cannot get back in so as of this morning my things are still on the elevator and in the hallway on the second floor. there Emergency line was no help at all! the fact that no one was there from 9-4 am and that is their posted store hours is crazy Is unprofessional. 3. When i talk to the agent to confirm my reservation i asked uptown what time so i have to unload he said 6:45. I thought that was wierd that tome. But he dis not ezplain why. So I'm thinking that i have until 6:45 to get my things in the storage and it locked on us at 3:45! Extra cost out of my pocket: I had to keep my rental truck and extra day. i have to pay the day labors for a 2 day jod that was only a one day job. Needless to say i am pissed! read more

Update: I did find rat feces in by belongings when I moved out. The staff did what they could and put out traps but I guess it isn't enough. The check out process was easy and I was able to pay a pro-rated amount. read more

Let me say that although some employees have been exceptional, there are some that definitely need to be taught how to treat customers or shouldn't be in customer service jobs if they hate dealing with people. I had a storage unit for so many years and the rudeness I endured was beyond imaginable. I don't think so would want to get a storage again. As well be ready for your storage unit price to increase about every 3 or 6 months. They say they send letter out letting you know about the increase but I never got one. ‍ read more

If you are on a fixed income please do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. My mother has been down on her luck lately and moved out of her apartment, she needed a storage space so we moved her belongings here into a 10x20 priced at $224. plus the $9.00 insurance when they were owned by StorQuest. I've been paying the bulk of it to take some of the stress off of her. As soon as ExtraSpace took over they raised the rent. It was only $10 and my insurance went up $1, so I could look passed that. It's been a few months and starting Jan. 01 2015 they are raising the rent $33 bringing my total to 267.00. I don't appreciate being nickle and dimed. I've honored my rent commitment, on time, every month with no hassle but I refuse to be screwed over. I would be more understanding if they raised it at the beginning of a new lease but attempting to slide it in the middle and expect us to take it lying down is despicable. I will being taking my business elsewhere. read more

This extra space storage location on w.Slauson offered a low monthly fee that quickly more than doubled in price, forget the Web specials,they are a scam. the attitude of the desk staff is so unfriendly and unhelpful like they are forced to work there and hate people bothering them. Any complaints you have with the customer service are not responded to. They have a don't share cause we just don't care attitude with customers. The girl working there this week early March did not smile at anytime,just glared and barked 'it's not open yet!' After a months of requesting to talk to a manager or find a solution to pay to move my items back I got no follow up call from a manager as I requested. Then Extra Storage space sent a review which I filled out and Magically Kim the manager calls back. She leaves the following message on my phone not realizing that the phine is still on you comtinues to talk to her employees about me. Any way someone from corporate not at this location could have a conversation with me as I feel this manager has now influence her staff in a way that I won't be treated as a valued customer.
