I'm pretty sure it can last longer if I prolong it (but then my nails will get long and gross). I first started with Ahra and she was GREAT but then she had to move to another state. And I got a little skeptical but then I gave Sunny a try and she is AMAZING! She's so in-depth and detailed and puts her time in the designs she does (plus the cuticle clean up she does is so soothing!). And when sunny is not available, there's the expert Elisha and she's a PRO in everything. She literally does everything - I don't know how she does it, from nails to eyelash extension and to Pilates and flying yoga (and I think she bakes bread for dieting as well). Shes been doing nails for over 15 years so she def knows what she's doing. I've had the chance to get nails done from her, and of course exceeded my expectations! I give Tina 4.5 stars and here's why: small detail - there's a ton of colors to choose from, but we as customers can't access them and pick them out for ourselves. We have to tell the technician what color we want and they pick out a few to show us. I'd rather evaluate colors myself. A first for me. The other detail - and why I've moved on to another salon is that I typically get a gelx manicure: the two times I've gotten this service done, the gelx popped off a finger (or two) after 1-2 weeks. That means, I need to run back and get it corrected, which is more time and money I don't care to spend (I've been able to have my gelx stay on (and get refills) for more than a 2 weeks elsewhere). I just got a simple French gel manicure but within a few days, two of my nails broke. I called to see if they could help fix them but the manager got super defensive and blamed me for not getting acrylics. She even snapped at me and asked, "Well, what do you want from us?" in a really rude tone. I went in the next day, hoping things would go better but I was greeted with the same attitude from both the manager and another employee. The nail tech looked at my nails and started lecturing me about why I shouldn't have gotten gel, in a really condescending way. I brushed it off and agreed to the extra charge they mentioned. While fixing my nails, the manager put an extension on one and started filing the other one that was still breaking. I calmly asked, "Should we just cut this nail?" and out of nowhere, she started yelling at me and literally spitting while she spoke. She was shouting something like "NO, I'M GOING TO--" and basically forced her own plan without letting me finish. At that point, I was so overwhelmed and emotional I honestly almost cried. I've never felt that disrespected at a business before. The nails didn't even turn out that great but I was too scared and uncomfortable to say anything, so I just left. Please don't go here. Within 20 min she said to come in at 10am... we showed up at around 9:48am when her staff came in early and let us get started... mind you, we needed to be at LAX by 12pm for my friend's flight-- Eeek! I asked for a custom, gel mani and they said, no problem (they have alllll the goodies for designs)!! Finished my manicure by about 10:45am and did my gel pedicure by EXACTLY 11:16am. This review is for management's attention…read more I called a day prior to schedule an appointment for regular pedicure and manicure. Appointment time between 10am-10:30am. Arrived 10:15am today. Staff member started on my pedicure. Other staff were busy with their customers. She did a nice job on my toes. I'm pleased with her service, nail color, her attention to detail and cleaning. Thank you. However, my experience with staff member who did my manicure, was an unpleasant experience and therefore, I will never return to this location. She began to remove the old gel from my nails. A woman with no appointment enters the salon inquiring about nail services. The lady working on my nails begins to ask her questions about what services she was seeking. I heard her quote the customer afterwards, around $80 and to come back in twenty minutes. I thought "wow. Is she going to rush her job on my nails for a walk-in asking for extensive services?" Yes, that's what happened. I noticed a change in her pace while working on my nails. She was rushing through manicure. During this time I asked her about payment. Last time I came in was December of last year, and paid with Zelle but usually prefer to pay cash. Asked if they give receipts for cash payments. She said no. I usually ask for receipts to track my expenses. Then asked her is it just Zelle they accept or credit card as well. She said Zelle no cc. Normally don't care for Zelle, prefer Venmo so to pay with cash back. A very nice perk of Venmo. She thought I was getting gel and I said "oh no, not today. Just regular. I'll be back another time for gel." I'm not sure what caused a change in her mood and demeanor but she gets up to get nail polish, comes back to me, gets her phone out and says to me: "You pay now on Zelle for both jobs before I start second one. Before I do job on your nails." The moment was unpleasant, awful feeling, and I was startled. Her tone in delivering her message was very different than from her speech prior to this incident. Her vibe was negative, disrespectful, and rude. I am a patient and graceful person. In that moment I decided to go with Zelle and not give her my cash. I brought $200.00 with me to pay for nail salon and other errands afterwards. I kindly said "ok, sure. Give me a second. "I then showed her the name already saved on my Zelle to confirm it was correct and to show her that this paying customer has paid them via Zelle. She then asked to see transaction after payment so she can take a photo. Cost for regular pedi was $40 and regular mani $30. I was not told to pay in advance on my last visit in December. She did my gel pedi during that visit. She proceeded to polish my nails and did a messy job because the walk-in individual came back exactly in twenty minutes. She finishes her sloppy job on my nails and begins to work with new customer. She comes back to me and before she adds a clear coat I asked her to clean the corners because they were messy so she does. Each moment she speaks to me it's short and as if she is upset. Perhaps she's miserable doing what she does for a living and takes it out on others. Not sure how she would have finished a gel job in twenty minutes if she did a poor job with a regular manicure. I sat for a few minutes to give my nails time to dry. Called an Uber for my next appointment and contemplated if I should even tip this staff member. All my years I have always tipped. Being in the customer service industry for years, I know how important tips are and what they mean to us. I prefer to tip in cash. However, this experience and the awful feelings it created within me, did not deserve more than the cost of a regular manicure. No ma'm. Nah. As my Uber was approaching, I slipped on my sandals, pulled out cash to tip the individual for my pedicure. I was not going to forget her and her quality of service. This is my second awful experience at this nail salon. What they do not know is I was coming here for some time years ago when they first opened. It's walking distance from my home. Would get my eyebrows done, nails, massage chairs were pleasant. Place was always packed. Until one time, a staff member working on my toes asked me to complete her online English exam that was due while doing my pedicure. That shook me and I should have reported her to her manager and posted a Yelp review. Now I'm doing both. Also, a tip for those who do gel pedi and gel mani: it ruins nails! On top of that, she works so fast, I was really impressed. I first came here about 7-8 years ago through a friend, and after they moved to a new location, I came back a few times but didn't quite feel the same. I think it's because I wasn't seeing the same person. Today, I had my nails done by Ria (the owner), and I absolutely loved it. I have very thin nails, so my nails usually don't last long. It always felt like a waste of money, and I would wait months in between appointments until my nails got stronger again. But Ria really took the time to look at my nail condition and even mixed different products to make them last longer that gave me so much trust in her work.
