I have been a loyal customer at Eyebrow Plus (San Francisco, Westfield Mall) for over 10 years, but my recent experiences have been extremely disappointing. In June 2024, I had an upper lip wax done by Rita, who did not ask me any questions about my skincare routine beforehand. This was my first time waxing my upper lip, and because of the lack of care, I was left with a painful burn and scarring for several days. Thankfully, another employee, Shanti, was kind enough to help me heal, but Rita never took responsibility or apologized. On September 8, 2025, I urgently needed eyebrow and upper lip service before an office conference. Rita was the only employee present, but she refused to provide me service, saying I should "come tomorrow since you always go to Shanti." As a paying customer with an active package, I found this behavior completely unacceptable and unprofessional. She even shut the door on me during the exchange, which was extremely rude and upsetting. I have never been rude to staff -- the only time I raised an issue was when I reported the burn incident to management. For Rita to repeatedly show such disregard and lack of accountability was shocking. I have since cancelled my membership and requested a refund. After over a decade of loyalty, I'm very disappointed by this treatment and feel strongly that no customer should have to go through the same experience. Im going to miss Shanti though! I have been holding my review until I used my last threading. They want you to buy packs/bundles and I had like 10 bundles and they always ask when I go in if I want to add any. Once you buy a bundle you're locked in. The wait takes forever with 2 seats in their waiting area. There's normally 1 or 2 people working. The plus side is that there's eyebrow plus everywhere. I would recommend the one in San Jose next to Santana row. That one is good. This one sucks. read more

Worst place to get a lash Lift. -Got a lash lift and one of my lashes was done wrong & was told that by the next day it should look fine.. the next day my eyelash was still the same so I showed up and (Shanti) was not there..I explained to her coworkers my situation & they told me to return Friday that she will be there & I will get a free lash lift.. I come back Friday & shes not there again & I told them the situation once again they gave me a number to contact. I emailed ,text & call... no response. I don't usually leave negative reviews, but I'm at the point where I need to. This place is convenient, efficient, and they do a great job. I'm over them pushing the promotions when I just want to get my brows and other services done and be on my merry way. I'm a good customer and will buy promotions when I WANT to. They push promotions even when I have services on my account. I want to go there more often, but I need to be in the mood where I don't get annoyed. Even when I assert myself and say "no thank you" repeatedly, they still push them. And then they give me a look of disappointment and I leave irritated. I don't know if they get bonuses for this, but I really wish it would stop. It's inappropriate, disrespectful and uncomfortable. It's too bad because they do a great job. It's pride weekend and I wanted to get some henna done on my hands for a party. I called to make sure that they could fit me in and was clear that I wanted hand henna. They said they could do it so I drove down! I checked in and confirmed that I wanted hand henna -- literally writing "hand henna" on the form. I've been to the store multiple times and talked to the store manager which she kept saying she'll give me my refund and she has not. Don't totally love. My eyebrows looked okay at first but I went home and noticed that she cut the hairs really unevenly, didn't fully clean up, and over threaded other parts. At around 4.15 pm today on July 3, 2024, I went to Eyebrows plus for an upper lip threading. Immediately once I entered, the two ladies there, Shreya and Ratna (these are the names they gave me) started talking very derogatorily about me in Nepali. They did not realize this but I speak and understand Nepali myself having lived there for many years. They made fun of the way I walked fast. Then, when I asked to put a paper towel where my head would rest, they started insulting me with slurs. These are very language specific slurs that don't even translate in english but basically, they are offensive and used especially for women. I finally spoke with them in Nepali and told them that I understood everything they were saying. Panicked, they tried to make up some excuse but I had had enough and left after telling them that they need to learn to respect their customer and a fellow human being. I am just so surprised because I don't even know these women and they don't know me but there was so much meanness in their voice and words for me. I've been to Eyebrows plus before and have tipped the estheticians generously every time. However, after this experience, I'm never coming back. read more

I had a similar experience to another recent reviewer at the salon. Woman spent less than 5 minutes on my brows. I took a quick glance and thought to myself I see no difference. Came back home and noticed hairs around and under my brows, didn't even do a proper cleanup. I can't remember having such a sloppy experience before elsewhere. I already don't look forward to these sessions because threading is so painful. And the pain is not even that worth it at the end for this place. Last time I came in there are 5 left (I wrote this down on my phone since it is not the first time), and after one visit on Tuesday, I have 2 left. This is my first experience with having my eyebrows threaded. Previously I have just plucked my eyebrows at home myself and on occasions went to the Benefit brow bar for waxing. I came in on a Saturday morning at around 11am, did not have to wait at all to get service. The technician Alina helped me. I liked her handywork. First she asked me what I wanted to do. I told her to clean up and thin out a little. After she completed one side, she handed me a mirror and asked me what I thought which I appreciated. Then she fixed up what I asked her to. She then completed the other side. I am happy with the results. The price was $15 for an eyebrow thread which is cheaper than waxing. As a threading noob, it was scary at first. I felt like if I even twitched a little, I could get cut. The only minor improvement I could suggest is I wish my face was cleaned up a little better afterwards. I had hairs all over my face when I looked in the mirror. No problem though as it was easily resolved with a wet makeup removal wipe. read more

To say my latest experience with Eyebrow Plus was disappointing would be an understatement! I have been patronizing Eyebrow Plus for the last couple of years and always praising there high customer service. All I have now is never, ever again will I recommend or return to Eyebrow Plus The reason for this is because of the way I was treated yesterday by Uma. I've been working on the front lines helping people in San Francisco since the pandemic started. For the first time in months I have been able to leave work at a decent time & actually sleep more than 3 hours before needing to return to work. I decided to seize the moment & do something nice for myself without feeling guilty. When looking in the mirror I decided my eyebrows would be a great place to start start, after all it had been over 10 months since I had paid any attention to them. And they needed attention!! I turned to my favorite one & only place, Eyebrow Plus. Yay, they were taking appointments. I was so excited! I booked my appointment for 5:30 PM on Friday. Friday came & I went to work looking forward to the end of the day for my eyebrow threading appointment. The end of the day came along with a last-minute emergency. I sent an email to let them know I may be a few minutes late for my appointment . It was 5:30PM exactly and I headed out the door to my appointment in the Westfield mall five minutes from my work location. As soon as I got my car, I called to ask if it was too late to come or if they would still see me. A nice woman answered , and told me she would let Uma know. To confirm, I asked again if it was too late or could I still come in? I was still on the phone with her when I arrived at 5th & Mission Parking garage. The woman replied , " yes you're parking now, come in, we are here"'I even asked a third time if she was sure, I felt bad that I was late. She said I'm sure! My mistake would be that I didn't get her name. I parked the car and raced up the block, yes, raced not run. I did not waste another minute of their time. I arrive at the salon, sweating but relieved and announced "I'm so sorry, I made it I'm here." The woman working on a customers eyebrows turned around, shot me the ugliest meanest look I've ever seen. This caught me off guard, truly the look would make anyone understand the meaning of if looks could kill. I quickly explained, I'm the one that just called, I'm here, I made it. I'm here for my appointment with Uma . I'm so sorry I'm late. The angry woman responded. Your appointment has passed sorry. Are you kidding me?? I just called I just got off the phone and even asked three times if I should come in and she assured me it was ok to come. I knew what was coming next, "Who did you speak with, the angry woman asked. Again, my biggest mistake, I didn't get the woman's name. I quickly became aware the angry woman whom I was spe asking with was Uma. I then said, so are you telling me you will not see me? She then became a statue standing in silence. I asked her again. Before I knew it, this woman's ugly mood was starting to also become mine. I took a deep breath and replied " I really can't believe this, I've never been treated like this here and I've always loved this place. Her attitude was infuriating and just wrong! So I left, I paid my $8 dollars for my 10 mins. of parking and vowed never to return to a place that that would hire such mean and unkind people. My experience today with Uma left me sad and feeling sorry for Uma! The way I see it is, the world is filled with ugliness and hate. And it will either continue this way or it can change for the better. People are the contributors. And everyone has the right To choose what they contribute. Either adding to the hatred and ugliness or they can choose to be kind. Either way people will choose to follow in one direction or the other.I choose kindness. I had tried threading a few times and like it, but just never had found a place that really made it worth my while. Usually, I try to stay away from the booths that are scattered around the Westfield mall, but I needed my eyebrows done and so I stopped by here. Usually, I go to Brow Bar, in Bloomingdales but I always found them expensive and sell-y. They always want so sell you something more. Here, there is nothing else to sell and so you don't have to worry about that. The prices are decent and best of all, the results are good. In 10 minutes, you can have your entire face threaded. I came for my eyebrows but did my face. I had never done it before and I was headed to a wedding. So I though "what the hell" and gave it a try. I have to say that it hurts, but the results are good. My face is all smooth and make up really does stick on longer. I have had 2 different people now and one is differently better than the other. I like the membership here. If you pay $50 upfront, you get unlimited eyebrow threading for 3 months. For $150, you get your entire face. read more

Felt a bead of spit hit my face (they hold the thread in their mouths so it's really just a matter of when not if) and then she dropped the eyebrow brush on the floor and picked it right back up. She did without any incident but both events coupled together in one visit just really grossed me out. I was in the Westfield mall and slightly desperate so when I found this place on yelp I decided walk in and get my eyebrows done. It's located on the 3rd floor by Lucky Brand. The space is well lit and there was no wait when I went on a Sunday around 5pm. I was pretty specific about my shape and she checked in with me during the process to ensure I was happy with the shape. She moved very quickly so even the slightest adjustment and I got slighty cut. I was overall pretty happy with how my eyebrows turned out. They push the package deal, but for the price there are other places in the city that are just as good. read more

I would not recommend this place for eyelash tinting. It was the worst and most unprofessional experience of my life. The technician did not know how to place the silicone pads under my lower lashes, and I ended up getting the tint in my eyes. I asked her to stop, and she wiped my eyes with dry paper and then with a makeup remover towel. Everyone knows that eyes are very sensitive and you should not rub them with dry paper or use makeup remover towels with chemicals on the inside of your eyes. I asked for a wet paper towel specifically to remove the tint. My eyes were really irritated and sore after the visit. Take care of your eye health and avoid this place read more

I've been getting my brows threaded ever since I was 15 years old and yea there's been good and bad experiences throughout my life but I'm leaving a review because I've been going to this location for 2+ years (closest place to my apartment) and it's very disappointing that the only employee that knows how to do eyebrows properly is Pooja. I just don't understand how others don't even know how to do a simple clean up without removing too much hair. I went to to the shop twice this week and Pooja wasn't there so I decided to go with another employee. My shape is so horrible right now and I just don't understand how she messed up so bad.
