I dined in with my family and did not have a good experience. After our drinks were ordered and brought out, we were missing one. We put in our orders when our server brought out the missing drink(which was 10 mins later). The restaurant itself wasn't busy. There was 1 other table seated, who already had their meal. It took a while before our food came out. We ordered a couple sushi rolls. My husband ordered the Japanese Katsu Curry and I had the Seafood Drunken Noodles. The food came out pretty slow. Luckily, I had the sushi rolls to eat because it literally took an hour to receive the drunken noodles. When I finally received my noodles, a large party came in. The party seemed to be regulars/family friends with the sushi chefs and server. I started getting agitated eating my meal because in the 20 mins it took for me to eat my noodles, the group that just arrived already had their drinks, appetizers, sushi rolls and some of their entrées. The food was okay. It wasn't great but it wasn't bad. I do think it's a little pricey for asian cuisine for the portion. There are other places that have better food and larger portions that are priced comparable or less than here. I personally wouldn't go here again because my experience was bad. Hopefully others will have better service but I recommend take out, if you want to try this place. read more

Duke treated us very well and I had a few different sushi rolls, volcano was probably my favorite but very hard to choose a favorite. Excellent place for Japanese food. The Thai food is average, but not bad. Friday nights are a must as it is the one day Koba-san is there. He is a semi-retires sushi chef and is a lot of fun. Prices are good, not overpriced like most true Japanese restaurants. Highly recommend a try. read more

This Japanese/Thai restaurant was exactly as described...quant, home cooked meals/hand made sushi, warm and welcoming and VERY family run! In a few words: I did take-out. Curry Puffs & Drunken Noodles. And I'll tell you exactly why I thought it was awesome. Number 1: The booths in the restaurant - even though I didn't sit in them - are Japanese style. You're going to sit cross-legged on pillows at low tables. Number 2: I asked for my noodles spicy. Not very spicy, not mild. They came spicy. I like spicy. That's why I order spicy. Some other restaurants see a haole order spicy and they make it mild, thinking the poor guy will never be able to handle it. I can. I don't like to be patronized. Very Disappointed...I've been here a few times and initially considered this an old faithful because I love the mussels and the staff had been very friendly. Unfortunately, I will never visit this place again. After I paid my check, I did some quick math and came up with a lower total. I asked the server to recalculate because I thought the total was not correct. After a little time had passed, I was approached by another staff member and was asked if I would accept cash for the amount I was over charged...no apologies nor explanation. My husband and I love the sushi & Gyoza. We can't seem to get enough of this place, especially because they deliver to our area. We order at least once a week now! Since my first visit to Faceless Samurai everyone has been so great. They are so friendly. We love creating our own rolls and the the Spicy Thai Tuna roll is one of our favorites. It is so spicy! We went here with a groupon and will not go back. Advertised as Thai and sushi, the only Thai dishes were written on a chalk board and there were only a couple. We ordered a chicken dish which was a small breaded chicken breast for $19, at least double what it should have cost. Even factoring in the $10 we saved with the groupon it was way over priced, and the food nothing special. read more

This was my first visit to Faceless Samurai and I loved it! If you like sake, order the Sho Chiku Bai Nigori unfiltered silky smooth white sake - it is absolutely great! I tried two sushi rolls; the spicy tuna roll and the eel roll. The tuna was very fresh and the eel was perfect. I also got the panang chicken curry, medium spicy. This had just the right amount of spice for me. Besides chicken, the dish had carrots, zucchini and green bell peppers in a creamy panang curry sauce. I definitely recommend this place. read more

Placed a takeout order for four adults and a 7 year old. Two of the main courses were wrong. One came with shrimp instead of chicken and the other was super hot after we requested mild. Have been there twice now. First time I ordered the Teriyaki Salmon. I have to say I don't think i have ever had a more perfectly cooked piece of salmon. And so fresh! Veggies were also very fresh and delicious. Second time we stuck with sushi. Also delish! The owner, Duke is super friendly and obviously talented in the kitchen. I went back and forth about giving 4 or 5 stars. I decided on four because there are a few things they could improve - but they are not deal breakers. I'd like to see more drink choices. And really a soda can on the table at such a nice place? A little tacky imo. Also we got sat once with what I assume were the owners children watching something on a tablet. So we were looking for new sushi places, and I legit live 5 mins away from this place and it's been there since the Cuban missile crisis with the same faded "Japanese Restaurant" sign so I decided to stop by and all I gotta say now is that this is probably the only place I'll get my sushi from great vibes, nice decor, and amazing customer service. I'm hooked like a piece of toilet paper on the sole of a shoe. Extremely friendly they'll help you if you need with choosing sushi. Mexican roll is absolute gasoline. Felt like family when I left with a warmer than summer in July goodbye the whole staff gave my girl and I as we left the restaurant. This place is wonderful. Great service and fantastic food. We ordered shrimp tempura and summer rolls as appetizers. I loved the shrimp. My husband loved the summer roll. It had an anise flavor which I do not like. I had the dynamite roll and created a roll of my own. Some of the best sushi I've had. My husband had red curry chicken, extra spicy. My husband found this place by looking around on the internet. Needless to say, this was out first time going. Can we say AMAZING?! The atmosphere is so family oriented and although we were newbies everyone (even other guests) made us feel like old friends. The owner's adorable son drew us a super cute picture of a zoo. The food was awesome, we had the Samurai Sampler for our app, chicken curry katsu, the volcano roll and my husband also ordered the Steve roll. We can't wait to go back and see out new friends! We dined with another couple and ordered approximately 12 sushi rolls between us. Could use some updating. Thai tea was a little strong with clumped up cream pieces. Maybe from being poured over ice. But never had that before. None of our sushi was refrigerator cold.
