Great place I found on Yelp while visiting the Tampa area. Service was prompt, polite, and friendly. My Drunken Noodles were served piping hot, had a great taste, and some really nice heat! (I asked for somewhere between medium and hot). My Thai Iced Sweet Tea with Cream was delicious and served not only as a nice drink with my meal, but seemed as a refreshing dessert as well (yes, it was that good, ha!). Lunch came to just $15.95 which I thought was very reasonable for as much food as I got. Seating includes booths, tables, and 3 bar stools at the front sushi bar. Intimate place that maybe seats 40. We started with Thai Iced Coffee for Hubster and I opted for hot Jasmine tea. (Was also offered green). Hubster ordered his favorite dish, Drunken Noodles with Beef and I finally settled on Panang Curry with Chicken. I was stuck trying to decide among mussamun, panang, or amazing. As we waited, they seemed to have a brisk takeout business, which is nice. They also have an extensive sushi menu and a small wine list. Hubster described his food as "great flavor and filling". Visiting from NY and this place was super close to our hotel so we decided to try it out. The food was honestly spectacular. I had the Tom kha soup, absolutely amazing. It's hard to get the perfect balance from the lime taste/coconut milk/spicy but they really hit the nail on the head. The massaman curry was also perfect. I am a huge Pad Thai fan- it's my go to at any Thai restaurant. This Serving barely look like Pad Thai visually. There were only a few sprouts, no peanuts, and the chicken pieces were few and tiny. The most underwhelming Pad Thai I've had, in this entire Tampa Bay area. You get a lot of noodles for $13. In all fairness, I have not tried any other dishes from this restaurant. We were sat right away. We started with the spring rolls and crab rangoon. The rangoon was very good, I was not a fan of the spring rolls they were deep fried and I expected something more light. I had the Amazing chicken which has peanut sauce. It had good flavor but it wasn't my favorite, but you do get a huge portion and I had to take half home. We looked at several but with time constraints due to planned visits to daughter in hospital, famished for Thai, and a friend in rehab with a broken ankle. We were greeted and seated immediately, about 1:15 on a Saturday afternoon. My wife decided on the Cashew Nut Chicken and I ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice Shrimp. Hers spicy and mine 'Thai hot.' We were brought Chicken Rice Soup that was delicious and had much more chicken than others we've been served. Along with small egg rolls that were tasty. Our meals came quickly. A fair portion but not as much as expected. The meals were very tasty but kind of bland. Especially since I specifically asked for Thai Hot and it was barely warm. I know some people ask for hot and don't really mean it, but Thai hot should have been a clue. If we were not pressed for time I would have asked for extra spices. This is our second time at Pacific Thai Cuisine so that means we definitely like it. There's so many Thai places nearby in Oldsmar, Clearwater, Dunedin, & Palm Harbor. This restaurant still maintains its great average reviews for a great reason. We come here and they are very friendly and welcoming. They are very helpful and consistent. And their food is huge and flavorful. We r hooked on the same things because we know we like it here. That is the pad Thai which is great with all meats. The sauce is good. It has quite a bit of meat and sprouts and egg and it's not just plain noodles. I get the crispy duck with pineapple and lychee and love the combination. It's such a huge serving and is so good with white rice. We get the summer rolls and spring rolls for apps and all is just great!!! Definitely a great Thai option. Tables are nice and private. We always loved Pacific Thai and in the past it was 5 stars but they recently changed their fried rice recipe so hoping the business owners will see this and go back to the old recipe. Old recipe, long standing recipe was light and fluffy with such subtle wonderful flavor - everyone we took there raved about it. Last time we were there it was a darker sauce and almost too sweet to eat. Another customer near us commented on it to the wait staff too. They confirmed to us they changed the recipe recently - not good :( Please keep your recipes as they were. Your friend rice was a stand out for so long - now I could barely eat it. Your wonton soup was always sublime too as were any Thai dishes we ordered there so hoping you're not altering other recipes too. Pacific Thai Cuisine is located off Tampa road or Hillsborough Avenue depending on who you ask, near Race Track Road, in Oldsmar, close to the Westchase Area of Tampa. Pacific Thai Cuisine has really cool intimate booths with led lit Canopy tents and golden embrazen Thai wall statues and authentic Thai art all over the walls. The music played at Pacific Thai is authentic Thai style and really brings you into the immersive Thai and experience. The booths could use some padding but look great. The Pad Thai noodle bowl came with steak, sautéed rice noodles, egg, bean sprouts, green onions, & ground peanuts and came Thai hot with extra Thai garlic chili the way my fella likes it. 10/10 The Panang Curry rice bowl came with chicken, Panang Curry paste, coconut milk, bell peppers, zucchini, basil, and crushed peanuts. We tried this place a few days ago. We loved it. It's a small unassuming restaurant. Don't let that scare you, their service and food was fabulous. They have all the traditional Thai selections, and inventive sushi but try their specialties you won't be disappointed. My man had their soft shell crab coconut curry. The description doesn't do it justice. It had mussels, crabs, scallops, calamari, and shrimp. It also had plenty of vegetables. All of their entrees come with a large amount of jasmine rice. The best way I can describe our meals is this: Imagine the whitest people you know. Assume they have albino tastebuds. And then think about *just how little* spice or flavor they can tolerate. This is the level of spice and flavor included. I have a diverse palette, love spice... but I knew it was odd when my wife was similarly offended by lack of taste and that the sauce was more akin to soup. Three stars, after all that? I've passed this restaurant by and never trying it because the sign wasn't appealing to me. What a mistake. Thai food from this restaurant seems to be on point and it's pretty close to home! I no longer need to go all the way to Clearwater to eat at Ban Thai...however lunch was a mess! This place would get 5 stars if it weren't for these 2 items: 1) the first time I tried to eat here we wanted sushi and Thai food, but they said they stopped serving sushi. Ban Thai does serve sushi...so I was quite disappointed and we left. Inconsistent with what is online 2) we came for lunch, was seated right away and got our tea, soup and salad right away, but after 30 min we had to ask where our food was and was told it would be another 10 min! I noticed everyone around us also didn't have their meals and more people were coming in and being seated. The servers were literally running to bring plates out to tables...unfortunately a table of 2 would get their plates 10 minutes apart! Unacceptable for lunch. They need more cooks in the back during lunch hour to accommodate all the traffic they get. We ended up asking for our food to be boxed when it was ready. So why do I give 4 Stars even with the above disappointment? Well, I ordered Panang Curry with squid which is a go to meal for me when I get Thai. If your Panang is good I'll try other things...it was fantastic...even out of that styrofoam box I ate at home! HubbyStanks got the green curry with squid and it was equally delicious. Why squid? Because I can make chicken, beef and shrimp Thai curry at home. I don't keep squid in my freezer and it's tricky...you either cook it very quickly or you cook it a very long time or else it gets tough. In Pacicic's case the squid was perfectly tender....and pretty (scored which causes the squid to curl into little cylinders). So, the soup and salad were good. I like how Ban Thai gives you the same soup, but with egg rolls. Pacific doesn't give you the sugary fried dough rolled in sugar like you do at Ban with your check. I love the flavor, just not the wait...during lunch. I'll have to come back when it's not so busy. read more

The insides of this place is better than the food. After my fish order was refunded I tried to order the chicken and shrip pepper and garlic. However, the chicken was really dry and tasted bad. Some of the shrip had their tails peeled and others didn't. Finally, the tofu was like jello and didn't have much substance. That's the go-to for me when I'm trying out a new Thai place. If that's good, I'll branch out. The portion size was HEAPING, and the flavors were spot on. The crab rangoon are a must order! They are the best I've had in Tampa; crunchy with the perfect amount of filling. I didn't realize they had curry inside of them until my first glorious bite. My husband and I wanted a bucket full of them. I nearly had to stab him with a knife to get my half of the plate. I've also ordered takeout during the week, as it's near where I work. Parking is abysmal at lunch time, because all the neighboring businesses have reserved parking spaces. The lunch specials are more than reasonable, with many priced at $6.95. Note: soup is usually included with entrees, but they don't include it with takeout orders. That's kind of disappointing, because the price doesn't decrease when you don't get soup. You do get a little salad still for takeout, but while it looks fresh, it's a little sad mix of cukes and iceberg lettuce. They do put the dressing in a small container though, so it won't leak out. The to-go boxes are also lined with foil to prevent foods like curries from leaking out. I appreciated this touch immensely! My takeout entree was the panang curry with no bell peppers. They really ruin food for me, so I was very pleased when my takeout box even had "no bell peppers" written on it. There's nothing worse than placing an order and being ignored, especially when you've gotta get back to work! My husband absolutely loved the red curry he got here. I've never seen him clear a huge plate of it so fast. Side note: the ambience in the left side of the restaurant is very cute with little canopies over the booths and fairy lights.
