Faegan's Pub was great for a quick lunch break while working all day. I ordered the fish and chips off the lunch menu and was very pleased with my meal. If I could give this place negative 46 stars I would. They should walk around with their head slung down in shame for the experience we had in this glorified flea market food stand. We all ordered simple things. Salads and burgers. The place was near empty (not surprisingly) and the "food" took 45 minutes to come out. Upon the cold food being served, it tasted like a dead rat in a summers attic smothered in burnt onions. The "waitress" never came by to check of our "food" was acceptable and her chin acne made it even harder to eat the already bad "food" FOR SHAME vagrants! FOR SHAME!!! read more

Faegan's did not disappoint! I've heard talk of its popularity on Wednesday evenings for flip night and decided to dine there tonight with some girlfriends for dinner and loved the outdoor seating. It was a beautiful day and perfect weather around 4:00 when I went that I was able to enjoy my meal without hassle. I ordered the Caprese sandwhich and a blue moon-- although I was torn because they have many alcohol options from beer to wine and spirits. Their menu is a large variety and is super cheap, a perfect pub to have on campus for students on the go. Will definitely be returning to eat there another time. read more

Consistently great food and great service every time I go. This has been a go-to for my friends and I since freshman year. Now, as seniors, we enjoy going for one of their very large beer selections. The food here was great and the wait staff was very friendly. The host greeted us and sat us right away and our waitress was right over taking our order. The atmosphere was great and it wasn't too loud. The food prices weren't too bad either. I would definitely recommend the nachos if you decide to eat here. Faegan's is exactly what you'd expect from a pub in a college town. Decent food, not very expensive, friendly staff, and full of college age students. The food my friend and I ordered came in larger portions than we expected, which we appreciated, so we had leftovers to make our meals, and our college budgets go farther. This near-campus student hangout is a favorite for SU students. The great food and 40 different beers on tap alone make it stand out from the other fair on 'the hill.' Check it out on wednesdays for "Flip Night" for a chance to flip a quarter for a free beer. I seriously sat at the bar and watched a server handle money, touch the computer screen to place an order, wipe her hands on her pants and then proceed to mix a drink, after she poured the drink she used her same UNWASHED hands to pull apart a lime wedge and twist it to garnish the drink! Its a good time. Their prices are somewhat decent for the marshall street area. We had one bad experience there and that is why they got 3 stars. My buddy ordered a round which they double charged us for by mistake. One guy was a jerk to us. They finally realized the problem after 15 minutes of talking and took care of it. as a syracuse alum, faegan's was always the "holy grail" of bars among undergrads. under no circumstances could one get in underage, and with good reason - it was home to the law students, seniors and even professors. no place for the lowly freshmen and sophomores looking for $3 pitchers. among college bars, faegan's is simply unrivaled. to even classify it as a "college bar" is very unfair. yes, it's near a college campus. yes, they have specials catered toward the student crowd. however, the classification ceases to apply beyond that. one of the most impressive beer selections in the northeast, including many beers you'd find on any beer list (domestics, stella, guinness, etc.) as well as many relative obscurities (saranac, young's, capt. lawrence, etc.). and all for no more than $4 a pint. on flip night, they could be free. on thursday nights, most of them are $2. the food is definitely a cut above anything else you'll find on marshall street. while the menu may look fairly average on paper, the burgers and salads are excellent and certainly better than the other bars or constant revolving door of restaurants surrounding it. the lugar burger is highly recommended. perhaps the highest compliment that i can pay this place is that after 3 years of living in new york city and looking for a similar spot, i can conclusively say that faegan's is one of a kind, and reason enough to make the 4 1/2 hour trek twice a year. can't wait to go back! read more

So I write this review literally a little over an hour after all this happened while everything is fresh in my mind. I'm a resident physician on call who just finished my shift around 1 AM and I decide to take a stroll from Upstate to Feagan's on Wednesday night to have a drink. I show my driver's license to the bouncer who was great and lets me through without charging me cover saying "I got you, man". I go the bar table and wait a good 5 minutes to be served, which I completely expect when you're at a super packed bar. What I didn't expect however was waiting to be served while I watch this lightly bearded blonde haired bartender with thick dark-framed glasses serving another customer who clearly came to the table after I did. I got upset and told this bartender that the other customer came after me and that I should be served first. He coldly responds by saying "I don't care". I reply to him saying "you should care you need to serve the customers who came first, this is BS". He then replies to me by saying "you need to watch your mouth". I reply by saying "I'm not going to watch my mouth when you're not taking proper care of your customers." He replies back to me by saying "you're done, I'm not serving you" and calls on the bouncer to escort me out. I walk out peacefully without incident. The bouncer who escorted me was very polite which I appreciated. I wish I could say the same about this bartender, but I can't, because clearly he doesn't understand customer service etiquette or even the meaning of customer service. I understand bartenders on busy nights are under a tremendous amount of stress, but that still does not give them the right to be rude and condescending to customers. So in conclusion, after this incident, I have no intention of coming to Feagan's ever again. read more

The absolute hidden gem of Syracuse is Faegans. Right in the heart of campus is one of the best Irish pubs in Syracuse. I might even argue that it's better than Kitty Hoynes. The food is outstanding. Get the Buffacuse. You will not be disappointed. read more

Really great dining experience. I went with my friend for lunch. The service was fantastic. Christopher, our waiter, was incredibly nice, always checking in on us to make sure we were satisfied. The food was excellent and the restaurant has a great feel to it. The food was cheap as well. It wasn't packed when we got there. I stopped in on my walk back to my hotel from the corner CVS. I was waiting for my daughter to get out of a seminar and was hungry. I ordered a burger and a beer (Left Handed Brewery Chai Chocolate Stout, GREAT BEER). Service was quick, server was engaging and friendly and burger was very good! Faegan's is one of those places I always go when I am in Syracuse because the food is good and there is a good beer selection. I usually order the bacon-wrapped jalapenos, which never disappoint. I don't recommend this place for lunch. It's too crowded. The burger isn't very good, and I've been trying to get my waitresses attention for some pickles to try to improve the flavor but she's been busy. The broccoli soup isn't very good, either. I prefer Paneras soup but just about anywhere is better than here. It is 12:53 and I went to lunch at noon. I need to pay for this horrible excuse for s meal and get back to work. Faegan's is my go-to spot for dinner or a late-night drink. The food is very good and they have a nice selection IPAs, local brews, and seasonal brews. Definitely the best place around the Syracuse campus for beer in regards to selection. Beer tour is on Tuesday and flip night is on Wednesday. The waiter, Christopher, was really kind and was timely with taking our orders and checking up on us. The food was delicious. I got the pub burger and it was cooked to perfection, just the way I like it. The place started filling up as we were leaving, but we were not rushed out like some places would do when they start getting busy. Prices were reasonable. Delicious food- everything I've had is awesome, and the other entrees look equally great! I love the beers on tap!! I was very impressed with their selection. They have everything from Blue Moon to Woodchuck to Sam Adam's Cherry Wheat, and all other fruit flavored beers in between (including raspberry, blueberry and blackberry). I love sweet beers so I was like a kid in a candy store! They also have the Beer Tour which is a cool challenge...if you drink all their types, your name goes on a gold plaque on their wall! The only down side? Crowds. And LOTS of it. I understand it gets crowded late at night since it's a college bar. But Friday/Saturday nights at dinner time? Don't even think about it! Faegan's is by far the best place to get food and drinks on Marshall Street, so I guess it's only natural. Your best bet is going there for lunch or dinner on a weekday. read more

I'm so happy that we have Faegan's on Marshall street. The perfect spot for grabbing a drink with coworkers after work, Faegan's has an extensive beer list - a bit pricier than spots nearby, but you're paying for it in the hip/pub ambience - and good food. I'll often get lunch here - try the special sandwich or the classic fish and chips. Service can be slow, especially during peak hours, when it comes to food service, but soak it in and enjoy your moment away from class or the office. My favorite bar till now. I believe this is the best hangout spot to meet and greet new and old friends. Wednesday's flip nights are amazing. The bartenders are very friendly. There are occassional fights amongst students, but the DPS and the SU police are always around. Does get very crowded on wednesday nights. I m good friends with the bartender named Guy and another staff named Jeff. I have made many friends at this bar and have brought along many of them for drinks here. I have tried almost all the beer selections that they have here. They also operate a restaurant till 9 pm and the Nachos with salsa is my favorite. read more

Flip Night Disgust! These owners and bouncers have the audacity to just charge cover to broke college students when you can't even flip until 9. I deliberately leave early, walk in the POURING RAIN to get there before 8:35, TWENTY FIVE minutes before the flip night starts, and they are charging?? Usually it starts at 8:45, but they just say "they charge whenever they want." why are you charging for an event that hasn't even started yet? Such a scam. We were a respectful party of 4 and had a table near the bar for over an hour and a half ordering drinks when we were suddenly kicked out of our table by a rude waitress just after ordering another round of drinks. The waitress claimed we needed to order food in order to keep the table despite us ordering over 100 dollars worth of drinks while at the table. When we agreed to order food at the table, she said that we had to get back in line at the door and wait for a table. This waitress obviously doesn't understand how a restaurant makes a profit which is from drinks, not food. This waitress told us she needed "her table" so she can make tips for a party of 4 who we're ordering food. However, an adjacent table of 5 next to us were all ordering drinks and no food and were not asked to leave. At no time over the course of the hour and a half were we told we could not be at the table unless we order food. Based on our bad experience, we will never return to this establishment due to its rude staff, inconsistent and arbitrary seating policy and poor customer service and advise other to go elsewhere. read more

Decided to walk over to take a break from hospital food. Very happy we did. Food was quite good, and hit the spot. I certainly recommend the buffalo wings. Decent beer selection, and anyone that carries Breckenridge Vanilla Porter on tap is ok in my book.
