The food isn't worth the wait or the poor service/prices. Just eat somewhere else. I ordered a BLTA and it took 20+ mins. The drive thru speaker is terrible so you can't even hear half of the responses. I was asked what kind of bread but could only hear two options. After 15mins of waiting at the window she came to get my payment so I asked for clarity on the bread options. I asked to change it to sourdough, thinking that since it's a sandwich w no melted cheese/sauce switching the bread would be a simple two step process but I was told they could not switch the bread. I asked for it on the side and after another 5+mins she finally brought me my order with an additional $2.00 charge for my bread on the side. I used the drive through around 6:00pm and there was hardly anyone else in the parking lot. I was the only one in line. I ordered the fair oaks burger combo with fried zucchini instead of French fries. I was a little disappointed at the amount of zucchini they give with the combo order, especially because I had to pay extra for the upgrade, but I was satisfied with the meal and not left hungry once finished. The fried zucchini was the perfect texture though. So crispy and the breading didn't fall off. It wasn't the most flavorful coating, but fried zucchini are usually just a vessel for ranch anyways. The burger itself was quite good as well. Well seasoned meat, a good ratio of toppings, not a soggy disaster either. The woman who took my order was very kind and friendly, making a joke about the heat as she handed me the food. The food took a while to come out, maybe 10 or so minutes, but I think everything was just being made fresh and it wasn't a stressful wait by any means. My favorite thing here on the menu, is the Fair Oaks Burger. The burger itself features bacon avocado and pickled jalapeños. That's their signature, and it's totally the bomb! Perfect combination of toppings, unique to this establishment. Yes... THE Fair Oaks Burger. I've lost count of how many of these I've had over the last year or two. Anyway, this is one of my top five burgers in all of LA... Right along side pie and burger, the apple pan, etc. very highly recommend that you try this burger as soon as possible. And they have really good fries! It's hard to get fries wrong, and they certainly don't. Who doesn't love crispy salty potatoes? I sure do! This is a locally owned, unique spot. Don't expect them to rush you through the drive-through in 10 seconds. This is not Taco Bell. They make everything fresh, they make everything right, and you'll be really happy with what you eat. Ordered two chow mein specials combination and four tacos all of my food was burned to a crisp. The store has closed so there's no way of rectifying this but it's very disappointing as I spent good money for dinner that I cannot eat because it tastes like poison due to the burnt chicken and noodles This is not okay and I unfortunately I will not be dining here again I called the following day to let them know what happened and their response was I'm sorry No trying to refund or make it right I've been coming here since I was a little girl. I almost chickened out and did not try Fair Oaks Burger. Altadena is very eclectic and I love a lot of the old homes at the foot of the beautiful mountains, but I haven't really taken the time to visit any of the restaurants in the area. It's right next to the Angeles National Forest which made it really convenient because my friend and I just finished a hike not too far from there. Following our hike on the Gabrielino/JPL Trail last week we decided to look for a new place to grab lunch in Altadena. We're both "Yelpers" and love searching out restaurants that look good according to the "Yelp reviews". This is going to be my last weekday hike with my good friend and Yelper Mel D, sniff sniff, because she just started a new job. I am happy for her, but I'm sad to be losing one of my favorite weekday hiking friends to the working world. We decided to go to Fair Oaks Burger because it was just a couple miles from the trail. Fair Oaks Burger is on the north side of the 210 Freeway and is just a couple blocks north of W. Woodbury Rd. It is not a fancy restaurant at all and it looks like it has been there forever. They also have a drive-thru window. Inside the restaurant there's about 5 or 6 tables and a few outside. I didn't see any umbrellas for shade, so it might get a little toasty out there on warm days. You can find lots of options from burgers to Chinese and Mexican food. I really like this restaurant because you can get a good meal for a bargain. My avocado burger combo with steak fries and a drink was about $6.50. I thoroughly enjoyed every last bite of the avocado burger and the steak fries were very good as well. When we arrived for pick-up both owners took a moment to greet us and offer pooch endearments.
