After my new countertop install the new faucet and drain needed to be hooked up. Leo was prompt to come out and take care of everything. He wore booties and laid down floormats to make sure not to scuff up my hardwood floors. I am very satisfied with their work and the price was very competitive. BTW this company is under new management since 2020.

Called Friday morning and the receptionist was amazing and got someone to our house that morning. Full diagnostic told us the compressor went bad. Our unit was 13 years old, so it was about time for a new system. We decided to replace whole system as replacing a compressor is quite expensive basically half the cost of a new one. Mike came that night to price out a new system. I got two quotes from other companies. But decided on Shanahan because of their reputation, service as well as pricing. Talked with Mike and Conner (the owner) about our options and they came on a Saturday to install even though they didn't have an opening until Thursday. The owner himself came with a couple guys and replaced our system. They were very polite, did excellent work and we were back up and running. Plus they had very affordable pricing. These guys care! Use 'em. We loved our experience from start to finish!

I found Matt on Yelp for a second opinion and sent him photos of the setup. He was able to assess the issue without an unnecessary site visit and suggested a much simpler, more practical solution. How refreshing! His approach cut the cost by about two-thirds! I really appreciated his honesty, transparency, and professionalism--and ended up having him take care of a few other repairs as well. Highly recommend Philios and will definitely use him again for future plumbing work.

He installed a brand-new water heater, and when it appeared there was still an issue, he went above and beyond by replacing it a second time to make sure the problem wasn't with the unit itself. Ultimately, we discovered that the real issue was an electrical problem with my circuit breaker, not the water heaters. What impressed me most was Matt's honesty, professionalism, and commitment to helping me get the issue resolved. Even after determining the problem was electrical, he worked with me on pricing and generously discounted his services so I could put those savings toward getting the breaker repaired. It's rare to find someone who genuinely prioritizes helping the customer over simply completing a job. Matt was responsive, knowledgeable, and incredibly fair throughout the entire process. I highly recommend him and his company to anyone in need of plumbing or water heater services.

John came out and was very straight forward and up front with everything he did. He explained the issue to me, how he would fix it, and even provided some recommendations I may want to do in the future. My second time I used Bluestar was on a Sunday and they are closed on Sunday's. I did not realize this at first and left them a voicemail in the morning. Realizing they were closed I called another company who would have charged me more than Bluestar to come out later that afternoon to look at the problem which was that my Nest Thermostat was giving an E73 error code meaning it was not getting power. To my surprise I received a call from John at Bluestar that afternoon prior to the other HVAC company coming out. I discussed my thermostat issue not getting power with John and he suggested several troubleshooting fixes I could try over the phone. After eliminating several causes of what the problem may be John suggested holding down the front panel cover switch to the unit to see if a power light was coming on. In doing this I noticed sometimes the light would come on and sometimes it would not. There seemed to be a loose connection in the a wire that was causing the switch not to supply power. After playing with the switch for a few minutes I got the power to stay on and the problem was fixed. John solved my problem and saved me a good deal of money as I canceled my appointment with the other HVAC company. John took over 20 minutes talking to me on the phone going above an beyond to help me solve my AC issue on the day the company is closed. I would highly recommend BluStar to anyone and will use them for all my future HVAC needs.

I am a disabled senior living alone. This review documents objective facts regarding HVAC services…read moreprovided by Bluestar Air Mechanical Inc. across two of my properties, identifying the specific staff involved. Alexandria Multi-Level Townhome Installation * Diagnostic Visit (Isaac): Technician Isaac condemned my original AC unit as completely "dead" immediately upon arrival, without opening the service panel or performing electrical or refrigerant pressure tests. * Salvage vs. Installation (Walter & Karol): Walter and Karol spent extensive time meticulously extracting the original unit intact to preserve all components, while spending minimal time securing and properly installing the replacement machine. * Undersized Equipment: For my 1,830 sq. ft. multi-level loft townhome, Bluestar installed a 2.5-ton National Comfort Products through-the-wall AC unit that is physically less than half the size of my original machine, leaving massive voids around the wall opening. * Life-Safety Fall Hazard: The machine sits near the roofline several stories above a ground-level driveway. It rests inside the oversized opening without dedicated structural framing, a properly fitted sleeve, or mechanical mounting brackets to anchor it. * Massive Gaps & Exterior Visibility: Gaping openings were left on the sides, so wide that I can clearly see neighboring townhomes and direct outdoor daylight from inside my utility closet. * Soft Foil Tape & Expanding Foam: The top of the machine was sealed with only soft silver foil tape and flexible wrap rather than a rigid sheet metal transition or structural collar. Into the open side voids, Karol messily sprayed orange expanding foam instead of constructing proper framing, trim, or weatherproofing. * Severe Noise & Vibration: When activated, the unit generates extreme operating noise and structural vibration felt throughout the living areas. * Missing Property: A step stool kept in my utility room went missing immediately after the crew packed their gear and departed; I am continuing to check my home to ensure nothing else is missing. * Communication Evasion: Karol conversed easily in English upon arrival, but suddenly claimed not to understand English when questioned about the open gaps, lack of framing, and spray foam. * Dismissive Management (Lyn): Prior to her reply, I sent Lyn multiple detailed text messages and photos documenting my serious safety concerns, questions about the oversized opening, and the complete lack of structural support. Despite being fully informed of the severity and specifics of the hazard, Lyn--via text message--trivially dismissed the issue. She replied only that she would send someone back to clean up the cosmetic mess, explicitly offering no plan for structural framing or proper sleeve installation. Washington, D.C. Property Service * Undelivered Documentation (Isaac): I was charged a significantly higher inspection fee specifically contracted to include an official written cause-of-damage report and a formal repair estimate for an insurance claim. Technician Isaac completed the on-site visit, but no written report or cost estimate was ever provided, despite multiple follow-up requests sent directly to both Lyn and Isaac. * Licensing Verification: Bluestar explicitly confirmed prior to the appointment that the technician held a D.C. HVAC license, but no license number or proof of licensure was ever furnished. Based on these documented facts, I cannot recommend Bluestar Air Mechanical Inc. to other homeowners or seniors living alone.

Do you need a new water heater? This is the company to get if you don't want to wait!…read more Luckily my hot water heater finally decided to die in the middle of the summer. However, cold showers get old after the first one. Anyways, I assumed it was repairable due to clogged valves or needed replacement as it was over 10 years old and maybe much older. I called this company up because of the reviews and anything veteran owned is usually legit. Nassim was my technician and he can right in the middle of the service window scheduled. He immediately found the issue and gave me two options - repair or replace. I decided to replace because I know the water supply in this community tends to have a lot of minerals buildup. I'm glad I did. Upon removing the old hot water heater, a ton of deposits was found. I may have been missing out on full powered showers for years. Not anymore! Highly recommended. No BS. No upsell. Time to shower and be clean again!
