Clean rooms, very tiny. Reminds me of hotel 6. The breakfast is not recommended what isn't cold is old. The hardboiled eggs were white in the center and the sausage patties were dry. The oatmeal was like soup and cold. The pool heater is out, pretty sure it's been that way for a long time by the looks of the mold on the stairs. Fitness room is fully equipped. The business center is in the hall, there are no chairs or privacy. Don't count on an upgrade if you're a member. Won't be offered. read more

My bf and I stayed here for two nights for my friend's wedding and it was my first time trying out a Fairfield! This location was super clean and staff weee very friendly! I like our room also. Very spacious and I like the design layout of their room. I think out of Marriott's Select Hotels, I like Fairfield layout the most. It's more modern and chic. One thing though is there was not much closet space. We went for a wedding so we had some suits and gowns and there were barely any space to fit one suit and one gown only.. They have free breakfast here but we did not get any. I would try other Fairfield's out to see how they are and if they are similar! read more

The original reviews from the COVID-19 era reflected a very different management team. That former manager is no longer here, and the difference is night and day. Had to make a stop overnight on our way to our final destination so this hotel choice was out of necessity. We were blessed by fate. From the moment we walked through the door the facility glowed with professionalism. The counter person - this was 11:30pm was cheerful and concerned for out comfort and well being. We were in our room in no time. This is a little thing but they had the new type luggage carts that made transporting everything MUCH easier. The room was CLEAN, furnished comfortably even though it was a cookie cutter chain design. The bed was very comfortable ( a huge plus) and the supplies were all of excellent quality. Review The GM of this location is Zalma Quezada. And her Manager is Neal - who you will never get a hold of. Remember there names and hope that you never get helped by them. Because they truly done care about your stay not the service they provide. In fact when I told her that her service counter person was wearing a "Chevron" sweatshirt and no name badge- she gave no F's. Even when I told her that my wife and I were locked out - the attendant never showed up until 30 mins later - she still gave no care. The Room: - white stains on the sofa; don't even want to begin on what that stain was. - Dirty carpet that was not vacuumed properly and some sort of sticky substance near the bed and desk area - Stained dried toothpaste on the bathroom countertop- the top was never cleaned nor was the area below which had debris from the previous resident. She treats Marriott members who are loyal to Marriott for over 15 years like they are garbage. I told her how many points I used for the stay (after spending a lot To earn then). She said "I'll need to check that first and get back to you" - as if I was lying to her. She never issued the points back. Well this Inn was ok. Checking and checkout were great. Room ok, bed no real comfortable, basic decor. I know it wasn't too expensive to stay here, so you get what you pay for. Breakfast was your basic, didn't get anything but a banana. I would probably stay here again, but just to sleep. It was quiet and easy to get too. This was one of the worst smelling hotels I have ever stayed in. I stayed before at this hotel and it was lovely. On this trip there was an odor that permeated throughout the hotel. Arriving to the hotel at 10pm that night having been traveling for 9 hours that day I was put in a 4th floor room with a odor that was sickening. Moved then to a small suite on 2nd floor which was just as sickening in smell. The staff was aware of the odor and was not able to give an answer as to why everything smelled like mold. I asked the front desk if they could move me to a different hotel but was told I could but since I booked thru expedia no refund. I have contacted expedia who has given me a 10% discount on my account and told me I would now have to contact the Fairfield Marriott. I contacted the hotel who told me that they would give me discount on my next visit. AS IF I would ever stay there. I am a Marriott member and told the front staff that I don't want a discount but a total refund to my credit card or a 2 night stay at another Marriott. Will await a call if it ever happens or Marriott Corporate will be contacted to resolve this issue. The hotel knew about this problem and let many people in rooms that had horrendous odors. read more

Did a one night stay for Thurs night and I have no complaints. Plenty of parking avail, Nicole at check-in was friendly and got us our keys quickly. Our king room was spacious and clean. Loved the size of the shower and it had good pressure. Breakfast had a lot of options and nice to have something to grab before you head out for the day. Items included were oatmeal, yogurt, cereal, some fresh fruit, eggs, sausage, toast, etc. I would definitely stay here again read more

I am glad I didn't read the negative reviews before staying here as they would've scared me off. My experience was the opposite. I felt the room was very clean (no dust showing up on lamps and counters with the morning sun), everything worked (microwave, coffeemaker, shower...). The bed was comfortable enough--any bed that's not mine feels good. I really need to upgrade! It was quiet. The elevator worked fairly quickly. Check in and out was easy, the fitness room was well equipped, there was (almost) always ice water and coffee/hot water available in the lobby. The lobby and bathroom were clean when I went through them. Parking was ample and free. Breakfast was okay--the usual average hotel breakfast with lots of average choices. But it was nice to have that as a freebie. Should work for carb and no carb folks, and those with kids. I agree that I'd like the breakfast to be served until a later hour. read more

This place looks great but the devil is in the details -- dirty floors in the rooms, stained sheets on the bed when we walked in and bathrooms by the lobby were gross when I used them during breakfast. The staff were friendly and accommodating when we asked for a new set of sheets and even offered to give us some extra pillows. The breakfast spread is pretty good with some decent options. The pool is on the smaller side but the outdoor hangout area is a nice touch. Incredible experience!!! Working 24 hours shifts on the Mountain Fire we arrived early to see if we could get some rest. Manager Ruth went about and beyond to get us an early check-in. Beside her hospitality, the facilities were incredibly clean (as expected with Marriott) and it feels like a super safe area. The weight room was bigger than expected with a nice relaxing pool. If I could give less stars, I would. I will start by saying that our family owns 2 Marriott time shares, and my husband and i each hold a platinum elite status or higher with Bonvoy individually. We stay at Marriott hotels for almost every trip and vacation we go on. The lack of accountability by Marriott for Fairfield employees to act with kindness and decency towards its patrons is embarrassing. Marriott should be ashamed to have their name associated with this hotel. Alma Quezada and Kimberly treated our 13 families staying with them as if we were a disturbance and a bother to the hotel. The 2 back entrances into the hotel were broken, the hotel keys did not work to open them, and the hotel staff acknowledged that. They kept the 2 back doors propped open; one by a rock, and the other door by a chair from their patio. The one door was propped open with a rock 24 hours a day. The safety of our 20+ children was never a concern to them. Alma was power driven. When I asked to speak to a manager the morning we were leaving she said, "I AM the manager." I then asked her who she reported to that I could discuss her treatment towards us and she said, "Nobody, I'm the manager and there is nobody above me." When she walked away, another (very kind) gentleman told me to call Marriott customer service. The hotel also lost power for 3 hours our first night there. The only 2 ways to get back to the hotel were blocked off by cones and we had to find somewhere to take our children at 7:30pm until we could get back at 11pm. With 13 families staying for 5 days, I am aware it is a little loud, 6 year olds have energy! However, we would feed our children meals in the dining area and clean up every mess we made. We let them play because a hotel IS your home away from home. You can't expect children to be relegated to a 300 square foot room the entire stay. We have yet to receive a call or email from the staff to discuss this stay. read more

Spent a night at this Marriott Fairfield Hotel in Moorpark to cut the drive back to Norcal from San Diego. Everything looks new and the location is close to retail and restaurants, but away from the main road, which is what most of us are looking for when booking a hotel. The room (2 queen beds) was spacious and clean, and the bathroom even had Paul Mitchell products. The complimentary breakfast was nothing extraordinary, but did the job. There is plenty of parking available all around. Check-in was easy and quick, but the digital room key wasn't ready until after the physical check-in. I already checked-in online in the morning, so having me go to the front desk beats the purpose of a digital key in the first place. The card is already on file and unless there is an issue (there wasn't), I don't see why I couldn't just go straight to the room. I never had this issue with Hilton brand. That and the wall thickness/thinness are the only two minor complaints I can think of. If you are a light sleeper like I am, you might want to bring the earplugs. Even on a Monday night, I could hear noise coming from another room or even another floor: either a female person faintly moaning or baby crying at 3 AM (LOL) I don't know how many (if any) other hotels there are in Moorpark, but if back in the area, I will probably stay here again. read more

Worst hotel experience of my life!! I booked a prepaid room through Alaska Airlines Travel, but when I arrived at the hotel, I was told there was no reservation in my name. I showed him my confirmation email, and he acknowledged that I made the reservation, but said he had no room he could give me. I asked for a manager but was told he was the only person there. He also told me the hotel was full and that I needed to step aside so he could help other guests. I did not step aside. Fast forward, an hour later, and after being completely embarrassed and humiliated in front of an entire lobby full of people, I was finally able to reach someone at Expedia by phone (contracted with Alaska). They confirmed to the hotel employee that I did have a reservation. Finally I got my room. I had absolutely no idea why someone would treat me that way. Possibly the very visible Jewish star necklace I was wearing? It's the only explanation I can imagine. Formal complaint has been made with Marriott Int. It's puzzling to see negative reviews as my experience has been quite positive. I've stayed multiple times for church conferences, usually in a hurry, but always found the rooms to be nice, exceptionally clean, and the beds comfortable. The showers are fantastic, everything feels new, though the refrigerator could be a bit cooler. Despite not having time for the pool or spa, my stays have been peaceful and enjoyable. I hope not to encounter any of the issues mentioned in the negative reviews in the future. Kimberly at the front desk said my bad review didn't matter because this property is a "third party." Our group of over 10 rooms were staying here this week for 5 and 6 night stays. Tonight, night 5, we asked Kimberly at the front desk why our rooms were entered by an AC coil cleaning company with ZERO advance notice while we were off the property earlier today. All of us had signed up for ZERO housekeeping so that no one came into our room, yet, today we returned to the property to find out that a 3rd party AC company came into our rooms with ZERO advance notice. In front of 3 separate guests of 3 separate room reservations, Kimberly then commented that she thought that my service dog was not a real service dog, on the FIFTH NIGHT OF MY STAY, which is an ADA violation. Kimberly then was very passive-aggressive and condescending when we asked for her name and said her name to us and then spelled it out for us letter by letter with a smile on her face and then sayid, "it doesn't matter what you do because we are a third party." And then she called us "boomers" while she was walking away. As a Gold Elite member of Bonvoy and Platinum American Express holder, this Marriott has not provided the full value of my investment for 6 nights, and the ableist behavior of Kimberly is absolutely disgusting x10. I could add other "quips" that Kimberly had for us during our brief encounter, but I really just want to focus on the parts that are most appalling. read more

Okay, to be clear we do enjoy the 2 King Beds in the Room. When we are travelling with our Son who is 6'4, nice that he does not have to sleep on a Sofa Bed. My one complaint is the breakfast. CMON! You guys can do a better job with the breakfast you are serving. Instead of the Jalapeno Souffle and Whatever the other item was still in the plastic wrapping, do some sausages or bacon. Beautiful and clean rooms, but I was left very disappointed after my recent visit. Our coffee maker in the room would not work. There was no coffee in the lobby in the morning. The air conditioner kept shutting off during the night, so the room got too warm for sleeping (I suspect it has a fancy motion sensor that shuts it off when it thinks no one is in the room). And last but not least, they don't open the breakfast room until 7 am, that may be ok for some people but there are many of us that start our day before 7:00. I asked if they had coffee, or if I could have something, but they had nothing. That's too many negatives for a motel in this class. The good news is the room was clean. read more

This is a newer location which I really enjoyed. Sad to see some of the negative reviews although valid, just glad my experiences have been favorable. I love the complimentary breakfast and the security/safety measures they've always implemented at this location. I've stayed here several times and noticed frequent police patrols, temperatures taken upon entry, notable cleaning/sanitizing protocols and...their undisputedly comfortable beds. I woke up on top of the covers with a half eaten sandwich. The bed was so comfortable I straight up didn't finish eating or properly prepare for bed. That set a standard of comfort in my book. Extremely subpar hotel experience. All front desk personnel is hospitable but one. Short girl with braids that works mornings. Wish I got her name. Let me start with the room, there were ZERO towels in the bathroom when we checked in. No face towels no hand towels NOTHING and somebody's glasses were by the sink, this is all in the middle of a pandemic, cleanliness and readiness should be a priority. Our second morning there the inhospitable front desk girl was fixing free breakfast baggies. We asked for 2 she she said sorry breakfast is over these are for tomorrow. MIND YOU these are free baggies with like a muffin and a banana inside. Front desk staff is the rudest I've ever encountered. I was accused of fraud for trying to check-in for my family's reservation under my husband's name. When I tried to find a solution, the woman repeatedly told me there was nothing she could do for me and acted like I should have known this was a new policy. As Marriott members (both my husband and I) who travel frequently for youth sports and frequently choose Marriotts over their competitors, this made me question my loyalty. We will never be back to this location and may not use Marriotts going forward. There are too many hotels. We travel too much. Do not book at this hotel. They will keep your reservation deposit even if they reserve the wrong location for you. Their website booked me at the wrong location for my fathers birthday visit. I found out 2 days before my visit that the wrong location was booked. I cancelled the moor park reservations and I rebooked at the Fairfield inn location in Camarillo that I originally wanted. They would not refund me the deposit for moor-park even though I rebooked with the correct location. I do not need to pay for 2 hotel rooms for the same date at 2 locations. Corporate response was useless. I will never stay at another Marriott hotel. Customer service is nonexistent they only respond via emails with basic " I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause". Utterly useless read more

Management staff was awful, rude, and had poor communication. Could not answer your questions and seemed very disorganized. Do not recommend for events or large groups. Numerous family members and friends had problems as well. Could not accommodate our needs. Asked for simple services such as extra blankets or bell hop carriages and they responded "we can't find any". The front desk lady was trying her best; don't fault her at all. For 2 days prior to arrival I had a room booked and blocked for a 10AM arrival. We walk in the door and the girl at the front desk we want to check in. No greeting, no welcome to the Fairfield, no what's your name...I'm told it's $65 for early check-in. She tells me I have to wait until noon for a room because none were available...Does that mean if I paid $65 a room would appear? Tried speaking with a manager but none was available or there. Check out was another story...Somehow the girl swiped my credit card but did not enter it properly. I check out and for some reason had to pay cash for the market charges. I talked to Marriot but as of today no one has contacted me. I'm a Titanium Marriott rewards member and have never had to deal with an issue like this. read more

Absolutely do not stay here. Walls are paper thin. Pillows are chunky and awful. No way to keep air conditioner fan on so it's dead quiet. First night I could hear my neighbors TV and them talking over it. The front desk did nothing about it until I walked downstairs and asked for a new room. I was told they were sold out but the employee came upstairs to talk to the occupants. They switched me to a new room the next day after I asked a different employee the following morning. In this room not only could I hear people arguing, for the past two hours there have been children screaming and running around and jumping in the room above me. It is 12:30 at night and I am furious. I'm here on a work trip and need to sleep. Night 3 the stomping from upstairs continued and on night 3 and 4 there were people sitting outside around a fire pit which is chill except that I can hear their entire conversation from the third floor as if the windows were wide open. No quiet hours are enforced, it went on till around 11:30 and it's not even the weekend, it's Wednesday. There's no way to keep the air conditioning fan on all night so it's dead silent in the room. I have a white noise app but it still isn't enough to drown these people out. It's literally the only Marriott in town and I will never stay here again and am strongly considering leaving early. read more

OK. So I'm not sure whether to give this place one star or four stars. I tried to use the gym, and had to book a reservation, really weird considering I have a Covid shot, been vaccinated since January, and show no signs and symptoms of Covid? Also weird that they stuck a thermometer to my forehead. Pretty sure that violated a couple different rights but I'm not overly excited at this point. But when I went to work out the lights went out, because no one's in the gym, And the lights are set to automatic. And I'm balancing that with the place was clean, no pubic hairs in the bathroom. I stayed with my son at this hotel and we enjoyed our stay. They had a free grab and go breakfast in the morning and it was convenient. We had Jeff check us in and he was really friendly and accommodating. Whenever he would see us, he would always say hi and call us by name. This is something you do not see often anymore. He also signed us up for the lovely gym they had there and it was really clean. Our 4 night stay was great and we felt safe. The area is very close to Target and lots of restaurants. My room had trash from the prior guests and what I viewed as hair in the sink. I only set my bags down and went to the front desk to complain and would like another room. Well I was told I have 2 options. 1 they find me another hotel in the regional area. Or 2 refund my money and I can just lawyer the hotel as they do not have another room and are sold out! I stated you just checked my ID and seen I am 150 miles from home. He asked what I would like to do. Since I didn't prefer to have me and my family sleep in our vehicle. Very poor accommodations. Said they were sold out of rooms we had to stay in a unclogged toilet room. They couldn't move us or have maintenance fix it my husband even offered to fix it If they brought a plunger and nope nothing they said they had no plunger. we were told general manager would not be in til after 11. No one on site to fix the toilet issue how is my family suppose to pay for the room when we aren't even able to use the restroom. The water was over flowing we had to cover the toilet up.
