My stay here was absolutely great! They still do breakfast but it's a grab and go. It's still good. You have choices of juice or water. Pool is open but by reservations only. I left reviews on hotels.com where I purchased this stay but I felt like it needed to be expressed everywhere because of how awful my stay was. I felt catfished with the pictures online. We purchased 3 hotel rooms 2 of them were for a 2 night stay and 1 of them was for a 3 night stay. The first room we were assigned to smelled extremely like human pee and the ceiling was peeling off in the bathroom. I give it to the front desk for saying sorry and moving us but our second room wasn't good either because it smelled like mildew. One of the other rooms when checked in there was a clump of human hair under the pillow so the sheets were obviously not changed. The last room that was given also smelled like mildew. This was an uncomfortable and disgusting stay. They did have an average free continental breakfast and the lobby did look nice but that's the only positive I have to say. Other than that it felt like a waste of over 1500.00 spent. We would of been better off staying at a cheaper hotel Best Western like the other wedding party we came with. read more

I stayed in this hotel for one night and it was one of my worst experiences of staying in any Marriott chain hotel. I am a Gold loyalty member for the Marriott chain and have great experiences at all of my stays in Marriott chain hotels. I was staying in room 216. The room above me on third floor had loose floorboards to the extent that I would hear a terrible creaking / squeaking sound if any person walks in the room above me. This went on for the entire night. All night I tossed and turned with the pillow on my head hoping that the squeaking and creaking will stop. I couldn't blame the guests in that room because they probably had to get up in the night to use the bathroom. They were not running or stomping in the room!! I could tell that by the time gap and the frequency of the squeaking sounds! The walls are paper thin. I could hear the television from adjacent rooms. When I complained in the morning to the hotel lobby attendant, she promised that she will reach out to the manager and let him/her know. It's been two days and I haven't heard anything back from them. I hope they renovate the hotel soon to remove and replace the floorboards. Till then I would suggest folks to stay somewhere in else or insist on getting a room on the highest floor - 3rd! read more

I canceled a room a month ago and I just got charged for it today. I called the hotel and they said sorry, it was charged, but we've refunded it back. So now I have to wait for five days for a refund. This is Unacceptable. I've stayed there before and this is so upsetting. I was told that the manager charged my card and then realized the mistake. Absolute poor experience. I recently had a disappointing experience at this hotel. The communication was poor, as they couldn't provide a clear picture of when my room would be available, despite initially indicating it would be. When I arrived, I was informed that my room was not ready and to return in an hour and a half. I returned two hours later and attempted to check in. As I stood in line and watched another party check in, i figured my room should be ready. When it was my turn, I was told no rooms were available again and to return later. When I asked when, i received a blank stare. Very odd. I asked again, and yet received another blank stare. Super bizarre. Felt like I was in the twilight zone. I decided not to stay there and canceled my reservation. At the end of the day, the front desk staff was unprofessional, which made me feel uncomfortable. What struck me was that many of the staff members appeared to be unhappy working there, further contributing to the negative atmosphere. Overall, this hotel needs significant improvements in both communication and staff morale. As a lifetime titanium Marriott member, I think I have enough experience to know how hotel staff should operate. Negative stars if possible. DO NOT STAY HERE, IT IS NOT SAFE AND THE STAFF IS INCOMPETENT. I'll try to keep this brief. -Me, my fiancé, and our two month old unknowingly went to this location instead of the Moorpark location. -Staff gives us a room based on our last name and does not check reservation number -TV says "Welcome" with the wrong name listed (Correct last name, incorrect first name) -I call front desk to make sure that we are not in the wrong room and they assure me everything is fine -We travel to Santa Barbara and realize we got a room at the wrong hotel -Returned to Camarillo Marriott at 9 PM to go to sleep and check to make sure we weren't being charged at both locations -Receptionist tells me they GAVE ANOTHER SET OF ROOM KEYS TO OUR ROOM TO THE COUPLE WHO WAS ORIGINALLY SUPPOSED TO STAY THERE -Receptions tells me WE HAVE TO PACK UP AND LEAVE THE HOTEL AT 9 PM As someone who stays at Marriott hotels whenever traveling, I am very upset about this experience for a number of reasons. -First, this mistake should never have happened--the receptionist had copies of both of our ID's as well as my fiances name on the Explore Program sheet. She should not have placed us in the wrong room and should definitely have shown more care when I called the front desk to double check to make sure that we were in the correct room. -Second, this could have been extremely unsafe for my family, as strangers had access to the room where we had our belongings and where we would have been sleeping. Had we not realized the mistake, the other group who had been given access to our room could have came in while we slept, which would have been extremely frightening and dangerous. -Third, as paying Marriott guests, we should not have been thrown out of a room and hotel that late at night due to an error that a Marriott team member made. We had to repack all of our things and move our 2 month old daughter to a new room. Located in the armpit of a freeway exit the location is terrible; and it is not much better inside. I arrived mid-afternoon and the parking lot was empty. I am a lifetime elite member so my room Preferences are loaded in with my reservation. When they offered me a first floor room right next to the lobby which is exactly the opposite of my preferences I asked for a different room unbelievably in the middle of the afternoon in an empty hotel they said they was nothing they could do for me. I so miss the Starwood preferred guest program as they always took good care of me at check-in but Marriott could not care less; what a sham the Bonvoy program is. My room was tiny and did not have a chair to sit on. It was a bizarre and awkward arrangement where you could not get at the closet and refrigerator area if the bathroom door was open. The windows would not open probably to keep the toxic air and noise from the in adjacent freeway at bay. Considering this is a beach town that's too bad. When a hallway door slammed it echoed down the hall in an avalanche of noise and vibration, the walls are thin here Voices from the lobby easily penetrated into the room. The pool and patio area are literally on the side of the freeway. One can sit in a deck And watch the cars fly by. The whole outside area was quite dirty and the cool cushions in the conversation area were badly stained; the whole thing topped off with brown freeway dust. Disgusting! This is my first experience with the Fairfield Inn Product and it will be my last. read more

Hotel was decent .. staff was ok. Parking per night was ridiculous. No maid service for the 2 nights we were there. We had to get our towels from the front desk as housekeeping was "never around." I've stayed in this hotel 4 times within the last year and I strongly believe it should be rated more than it currently is.

We learned AFTERWArD that they charge for internet service ($5 a day) when, if we had known that ahead of time, we would have just used our own hotspot. In addition, the hotel only has one elevator for both employees and guests so plan on a long wait. I had two reservations booked at this hotel. My first stay was so bad that I cancelled the second one. It looked like 5 or six boys (around 12 years old) from a youth baseball team were staying at the hotel. They ran up and down the hall well into the night making terrible noise. A number of people called the front desk to complain. Nothing was done. Then early the next morning the same thing happened. I went down to the front desk to ask for help and they did nothing. I checked in last night and had to move rooms as the hot water and heater in the room was not working. I believe her name is Jessica and she's just the best. She actually brought the room key up to my room for the new room. I've stayed here several times before and will likely keep booking when I need to. She always has a great attitude and goes above and beyond what are general expectations. She helped me navigate which way to go, best place to park and asked if I needed anything else. She really deserves acknowledgment from her supervisors as she is an OUTSTANDING employee. I run a business and would definitely hire her for her customer service skills, professional demeanor and chill personality. We are titanium Marriott Bonvoy members and were told that we could not upgrade to a suite using points, so we paid for an Executive King Suite. It was on the second floor facing the highway. Bring earplugs/noise cancelling headphones. The room was a studio. Per advertisement on their web site written and pictorial depictions, our "executive king suite" DID NOT INCLUDE: 2 televisions, 2 sinks, oversized chair. The television did not have access to ABC television station. Bathroom shower very slippery when wet and narrow, small bathroom, no towel racks at all. Hung our towels in the closet on hanger to dry. They charge the same for all executive king suites, and you do not know which suite you are getting until check in, even though there are only 3 suites. We were there 2 nights and rooms are only cleaned, by request to the front desk in advance. Also the breakfast was edible, but inferior to other Marriott properties. Eat off property if you want anything healthy. Property was clean, staff friendly, but not very helpful. Convenient location. Spoke to manager, who said they could not do anything about my concerns. Total rip off. Next time in area will stay at Hampton Suites or Homewood Suites by Hilton. Especially when I'm paying for it. Seems to be meaningless to be Titanium member. read more

I stayed at the hotel last weekend (checked out Nov 5th) and shortly after my sons baseball game noticed that I had left his shoes in the room. I called the hotel - no one was helpful. I tried to see if housekeeping recovered the shoes, if someone had checked into the hotel, maybe they were still under the desk? I could not get any information except that they would check with housekeeping. I called again on Monday - no information. Called on Tuesday - no information. I received an email this morning (Wednesday) from Pauline (the regional manager) stating that housekeeping does not have them and an apology that "you lost your shoes". I am livid! I did not loose the shoes. Instead, the message should have said, "I am sorry you left your shoes in the room and my housekeeping stole them"! They were in the room! Anyhow, I have stayed at this place probably 20ish times for convenience (baseball park is close by), but I would not recommend - the rooms stink, the windows do not open so it's stuffy and smells like mildew, staff is not friendly, and now add to the list - the housekeeping are thieves! read more

Fairfield Camarillo is a refreshing change to the very tired, outdated and older hotels closer to the beach. The entire property is fresh, new, clean and modern. The renovation was first-class from the ground...up. Our room faced the busy highway, but we were pleasantly surprised at how QUIET our room was! The windows were double dual-panes. I will never stay at this property again just based on the lack of customer service when questioning a charge. After check out I received my statement and saw a charge for $7.00 for a bottle of arrowhead 23.7 oz water. Normally when checking into a Marriott property with the status that I have, I'm given a bottle of water. Its a nice gesture and appreciated but apparently not at this location. Its not the charge per se but the fact that I called and questioned the exorbitant charge for water and was treated less than professionally by the front desk. I asked to speak to management and was told they weren't available and she would have them call me. No call and that was 5 days ago. Never ever again will I stay at this property. read more

For preface, my family has always loved Marriott, I generally gave nothing but great experiences. At this location: Staff was very pleasant and courteous. The checking in and out was seamless. Ordered extra bedding which arrived in just moments. Five stars for the staff. The actual premises was not amazing. Thin wall and floors so could hear every step from our neighbor above, and every door shutting down the hallway felt like it was right inside my ear. My wife had a similar experience regarding the noise keeping her awake. The bathroom had a bit of a urine odor even though the bedroom smelled freshly cleaned. No corkscrews were available, which seemed odd, but they also didn't include stir sticks or a spoon for the room coffee maker. The pool and jacuzzi were both very tiny and were circled by a tiny wall that in no way blocked out the freeway traffic noise or smell. So, great staff, a bit underwhelming facilities for a Marriott. read more

Nice room,good service,you have to reserve the pool for pool time which is not a problem but we reserved the pool at 8pm and 8pm there is 20 people in the pool so we reserve it for 9pm and they are still ALL in the pool.we had to go to the front lobby and ask for them to kick them out cause of the annoying scene.the parents had our kids mock me as if they had a problem but wouldn't just tell me.They allow 11 guests at a time and there was 20 kids and ZERO parents in the gated pool area watching the kids which most got tons aren't for children so you have to be 18 to get in and the children were taking up the whole jacuzzi jumping from pool to jacuzzi.once they got out for 5 minutes.they left their alcohol cans by the jacuzzi where their is children mf we had children with us,they left their towels and shoes.and then they ended up going through our stuff and taking our towels.GOING THROUGH MY THINGS.not cool.Honestly expect a comped night from Marriott cause of the experience. read more

This is one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had, with unbelievably awful customer service. If I could give negative stars I would. We booked two rooms. One of them had water from the faucet that was so yellow it looked like urine from a dehydrated person. The front desk said they were out of bottled water. Then at 1:23 a.m., when my husband and I were fast asleep, the room suddenly flooded with light. It turned out that all of the lights in the bathroom suddenly went on. Confused, we turned them off but five minutes later, they all went back on. This happened 3 times until it became obvious the motion sensor was broken, but our daughter was fast asleep in front room (it was a suite) so we couldn't have someone come up and fix it at that hour. My husband finally stood on a trash can and pulled out the light fixtures from the wall & ceiling "cans" so we could get some sleep. We shared our experience when checking out the next day and they said yeah, they had had that problem with broken motion sensors a lot, but thought they had fixed it. They only gave us a 15% discount on bill on one of the two rooms (about $25)! When protested that that was outrageous, they said that was all they could do. The woman right in front of us in checkout line explained that she had been awakened at 2 a.m. by drunken teenage partyers who kept banging on her door and shouting profanities. She called front desk and they did nothing about it, so she her family up the entire night. She also got a 15% discount! We left feeling ripped off and exhausted from a sleepless night. What a joke! Marriott should revoke the license of this atrocious franchise. read more
