My family recently spent three nights at the Residence Inn Camarillo. It is conveniently located near Freeway 101 entrance and exits; and just a short drive from Old Town Camarillo. I booked a two-bedroom unit through the Marriott website, with each bedroom having its own vanity and full bath. The apartment had a living room and a fully equipped kitchen, including a refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, and dishwasher. A few days before our stay, I called with some questions and was glad to speak directly with the onsite staff instead of a call center. The front desk team was friendly and helpful both over the phone and in person. Upon arrival, check-in was quick and easy. Despite what must be a high guest turnover, the apartment was clean and well maintained. The carpets were free of stains. Despite a few minor scuffs, the furniture was clean and in good shape. The refrigerator and microwave were clean and odor-free. The hotel also serves a simple breakfast each morning, with hot options like waffles, scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, and oatmeal, plus cold items like yogurt, cereal, fruit, and breads, along with coffee, tea, and juices. read more

This place was just okay! It was really hard to get around. There were really weird corners and the rooms in weird places and the elevator was making some really weird noises. At the end of my stay I checked the curtains and something came crawling out. I really loved that the place had a great breakfast selection read more

MOLD--- They have mold in the bathrooms. We tried to switch to another room, we were shown two other rooms with mold in the bathrooms as well. The first lady offered to spray the mold. The second offered to wipe it off. We declined both. We checked out immediately. read more

Front desk associate pleasant and welcoming. Our room was ready. We asked while we were out that someone would open the sofa sleeper. We were gone for several hours and return it was not opened. Up. Called the front desk gentleman said he was with a guest and would have someone come up. Hour later no one and called back. Shortly afterwards someone showed. The room was a king studio while is was clean there was an odd odor in the room. Again clean room just needs TLC especially being a Marriott. $15 for guest parking was unusual since no valet or even security. Breakfast is adequate but nothing special. Came here for a night with my friend. Have to say the hotel staff was awesome. I loved our room and how spacious it was. They had a nice pool, I wish it was heated though. The jacuzzi felt great though. Not reason for taking a star off is that we asked for assistance in turning on the fireplace, and the worker did not know how to do that. Very pleased with my one night stay! The hotel staff are all so friendly and kind. My room was very spacious and clean. The included breakfast was also good! But I have to give specific kudos to Derek, at the front desk. When I checked in, he was so thoughtful, warm, and welcoming. Pronounced my name correctly (which generally doesn't happen!) and wished me luck for the event at which I was going to be speaking. When I came back to the hotel five hours later, he welcomed me by name back into the lobby, asked how the event was, etc. Next level customer service! read more

A huge praise for Derrick working the front desk. He was more than a bell boy; he was an exceptional host who elevated our entire stay. Derrick anticipated our needs, from providing blankets after a chilly night out to making sure we were always stocked up on towels. His personalized care made us feel truly welcomed. This place is pretty disgusting, at least our room was. The carpet had crunchy spots. The walls had various marks on them. The door to the AC unit had a piece missing from it. There was food splattered on the cabinet doors. I had to rewash (emphasis on rewash because I think this was the first time they had been washed) all of the cups in the room. We walked into the room to the dishwasher being done with its clean cycle, but still loaded. The coffee maker in the room was disgusting. Filled with crusted water and whatever else. I just felt dirty staying here. The wifi didn't work our entire stay. There was hair in our bed and on the bathroom floor. The fitness center consists of 2 treadmills, 1 elliptical, 1 bike, and 3 1/2 sets of dumbbells. Would not stay here again. If you're a loyal Marriott user like myself, stay at the Fairfield about a mile away. read more

For the price of the room ~$200/night, I was disappointed in the overall quality of the Residence Inn accommodations. The rooms were not well cleaned, just the visible surfaces and the carpets and tiles need a deep clean. When I looked in the cupboards and by the windows there was noticeable dirt/dust/stains. Only cleaning the rooms every 7 days is really unacceptable for these room rates and not doing a deep clean after each guest is not acceptable. It's such a shame....... Because just 1hr ago, I would have left a raving review of the property & staff. My boyfriend was staying long term @ this hotel. He stayed here for 3 weeks & I stayed with him for some of the time. Lovely grounds, (usually) nice staff) okay breakfast in the morning. Until check out day being YELLED at on the by a very rude front desk female was ABSOLUTELY INAPPROPRIATE, unprofessional, extremely bad business practices. I literally had to tell the front desk lady "STOP YELLING AT ME AT 9:30 IN THE MORNING" and she continued to yell. Check out is @ 12pm by the way ‍‍‍. While I'm rushing to grab all my things, my BF calls & asks why they were yelling at me. He called them back immediately & instead of profusely apologizing for THEIR misunderstanding THEIR mistake. Offering ANY compensation or heart felt anything. All they said was "sorry for the misunderstanding." Needless to say, what would have been a lovely review for OVER 21 DAYS OF STAY HERE. You would think they would treat their paying customers much nicer. But apparently that is not their best practices here. Nor are they able to rectify & own up to their own mistakes. Terrible. 5 night stay with NO housekeeping! Requested it twice, once in person at desk and once over the phone. Was told it was scheduled yet, no one showed! Ran out of toilet paper, Kleenex and fresh towels. On the last night, our shower and sink plugged. To top it all off, when we checked out, the elevator was broken so we had to haul our week's worth of luggage for 3 people down 3 flights of stairs. This place is a dump and way overpriced!!! I'll begin by saying we have stayed at Marriott properties throughout the world, and many Residence Inn's across the US. This is by far the worst hotel experience we've had. Both my wife and I have status with Marriott and we almost exclusively choose their properties when traveling. This property began our stay by sending a very unprofessionally written e-mail essentially warning us of all the charges we can expect, early departure fee, early check-in fee, smoke fee, pet fees etc. Only toward the end of the e-mail do they speak of any amenities the property features. We were in Camarillo for our friend's wedding and after unsuccessfully being able to get ahold of the property on the phone we decided to check in on the app. No matter how hard we tried, the app would simply not allow us to list an arrival time of before 3:00 PM. Our wedding ceremony had a start time of 4:30 and arrived at the property at 2:30. We were hoping to check in and change to head to the wedding venue. As we arrived, we observe several employees at the front desk. First appearance seemed like this property was adequately staffed. Another couple in our wedding party checked in before us and was rudely told that they received the last room for early check in and to advised the rest of the wedding party that no more rooms would be given out for early check in. Wow. What customer service. As we began our check in process, it was no surprise that no rooms were available. We asked the front desk employee when he estimated when a room would be available and he essentially just shrugged and responded with around 4 or 5. It was presently 2:30. There was no sense of urgency from the front desk staff. He simply said he would text me when a room became available. We then contacted Marriott Corporate to try and find a resolution, maybe immediate availability at another nearby property. Marriott Customer service also attempted to contact this property directly and they advised us no one was answering. We decided to get ready in our friends room, but realized we would need some extra towels. We asked the housekeeping staff in the hallway for extra hand towels, whom stated we had to call the front desk. When we attempted to do so, the phone in our friends room did not work. We attempted to call via cell phone and of course, no answer. After advising the housekeeping staff of this, they reluctantly gave us the extra towels. An extra back and forth we did not need, already pressed for time. Around 4 PM I walked back down to the front desk to check on our room. It was finally ready, no text message whatsoever. If I hadn't check, they probably wouldn't have texted. I was asked if I had a vehicle and they provided me with a parking pass. No parking fee was stated, but I had already known the fee was $10 based on their e-mail. The room itself was comparable to other Residence Inn's, the water pressure in the shower was extremely low. When we finally checked out, I was emailed a final bill. The bill had a parking charge of $15. If two words would describe this property, they would be HOT MESS! read more

We stayed here for 10 days and the property was nice. The rooms were spacious and we enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi. The breakfast is very simple but appreciated. The front desk staff were very nice--especially Derek. He remembered me and said hello each day. We had a few minor issues and he resolved all of them with the kind of customer service I have not experienced in decades. He was always friendly, professional, and went the extra mile to ensure that we had the most comfortable and pleasant stay. I wish more employees were like Derek at any job--things would run a lot smoother and be more enjoyable. Having worked in hotels, bars, and restaurants myself for many years, I can say with certainty that Derek's level of service is far above average--it's superlative. We stayed here about a week ago. This property was very clean and nice. Our room was big like most Residence Inns are. What made this hotel special was Rene at the front desk. She was always friendly and was very helpful when she checked us in. There really is no reason why this hotel shouldn't be given five stars. I stayed here out of convenience when attending a wedding 10 minutes away and I will start off by saying the distance to the resort is where the value for this place stops. $200 a nights after taxes and fees for their smallest room. We took advantage of early check in at around 2:30. The website said you could check at 2pm, but we had just bought lunch so we ate in the lobby while the room was prepared. We got the room so we could have somewhere to relax before and after the wedding as well as saving on the drive. The room was average. I do not feel it was sanitized well, as the bathroom and sink were dirty. The towels were clean thankfully, as we did shower before our event. I could hear the guests in the next door room talking at a normal level from the bedroom. The walls and ceiling were absolutely paper thin. Not to mention the absolutely TERRIBLE design choice of putting the basketball court in the middle of the courtyard so the voices of the players could echo into every room at 9am on Monday morning. The breakfast was a joke. unseasoned potatoes and eggs, oatmeal, packaged muffins, bagels, yogurt, prepackaged hard boiled eggs... It was a joke. And it ends at 9am weekdays The bed was uncomfortable. The pillows were barely filled. We were happy we only stayed a night. My mom is a Marriott Bonvoy member, and I will make sure she never spends her points here. Next time I'll spend my cash at an AirBnB. read more

What a wonderful stay at the Residence Inn in Camarillo. I contacted Rene Jones the hotel GM and she was simply wonderful on check in and throughout our stay. I was also able to get a Bonvouy upgrade due to availability and the fact it was a mid-week stay. The entire staff were so friendly and professional and the cleanliness and maintenance of this Marriott location is stellar. They also offer a complimentary breakfast mid-week from 6-9 am and on weekends 7-10 am on weekends. Internet TV is also available and free Showtime. They do allow pets with a $150 1st pet and $20 for additional pets. This is a no smoking facility as well. Wifi is available for free through Marriott Bonvouy. The pool area, fitness center, laundry, court activities, fire pit and BBQs highlight their amenities and their is a 24 hr. On-site mini market. The location in central and within the village of the park community near trails, shopping and restaurants. I highly recommend this site and I suggest you contact Rene Jones as she provides amazing customer service and leadership at the site and it's evident all the employees show the same commitment to excellence. Jacob also brought us some pillows, towels and paper products and was amazing in his customer service and communication. I see this young man as a future hotel GM. Highly recommended. read more

Beware this place only got 3 stars because the staff was so wonderful and accommodating. The grounds are inviting and well maintained. While parking is ample for some reason they still charge you $15/day. The elevator was slow, had we not had a disabled person and luggage the stairs were way faster. The rooms were kinda gross for $400/night. First of all the pull out couch was dingy and had a pancake mattress, second of all we had to make the bed- sheets and all. The outer plastic that housed the sheets was sticky which caused skepticism on their cleanliness. There was no extra pillows for the pull out couches. Moving on to the bathroom, the tub wouldn't drain after a shower and the standing water lingered for at least 30-40 mins. The ceiling was cracked from what it appeared to be water damage and painted over. The refrigerators in the kitchen are loud and kick on every 30 minutes and the water drains loudly. Rest eluded us. The only perk really was the bed and the room as spacious as it was. But again, had it not been for the staff and the ground this would have been a 2 star review. read more

We stayed in Residence Inn for 7 months now due to a business assignment, expect to stay for another 2 months. The hotel at the weekends were full of quests due to its convenient location and free hot breakfast, even though it's room rate is relatively expensive. Front desk workers were welcoming and polite but a little slow in response if issue occurred. But we did not run into any major problem during that 7 month' stay except they cannot guarantee your room requested days before arrival. Even you are Platinum card holder. Room is nice and clean, wi-fi is just adequate but not near "excellent" as promised, breakfast is proper with limited items, Equipment in the small Gym room is noisy and towels are often lacking. Location of the Hotel is excellent: entrance of highway is just right at the corner, restaurants nearby(in old town) are plenty, Outlet(Mall) is just minutes away. read more

I stayed here with my golden retriever for almost 4 weeks due to water damage in my home. Rene at the front desk made us feel very welcome. My dog soon became friends with Robert, the maintenance guy, who was also kind. It didn't take us long too feel at home and I was a little sad to leave. I felt like I was on vacation the whole time even though I still had to go to work. I was a little nervous to leave my dog in there in his crate by himself, but he didn't seem to mind. Now for the drawbacks. I noticed the wall behind the bed was very dusty as the light reflected off of it. I brought my own all purpose cleaner, so I ended up dusting it myself, which was no big deal. Also the bathtub was not draining well. I pulled a gob of hair out of the drain, which wasn't my hair, and it made me want to vomit. I notified the front desk and they sent Maintenance up right away to fix it. It still was a little bit clogged afterwards, but not as bad. The main reason for not giving a five star review is that I was told it was a non-smoking property, though there were often people outside the main entrance smoking cigarettes and there is also an ashtray there and there wasn't any No smoking signs anywhere. So if you're repulsed by cigarette smoke as much as I am, I would recommend staying elsewhere. read more

We came into town for a wedding. This hotel was conveniently located near the venue, freeway, and shopping center. The rooms have a kitchen and pull out couch which is great for families. The staff and customer service was excellent! I've stayed at many places and its not often you meet a nice hotel team from all around (manager, front desk, maintenance, maids, etc) Our front desk service from Jocelyn was amazing! Just got back from staying here during Easter weekend. Our check out is actually tomorrow morning but I couldn't stand another minute at this place. The staff is nice and the location is great. However they failed with cleanliness! The 2 bedroom we had smelled musty. The carpeting is filthy and the shower had small hairs in it--gross! This is during a pandemic & so the cleaning needs to be top notch!!! They only provide 1 roll of toilet paper per bathroom. I tossed and turned all night long due to not feeling comfortable here. You have to make a reservation for everything. They will ask you to leave the pool area on the dot once your 1 hour time limit is over. They have to let you in the pool area & into the gym--speaking of the gym it smelled so bad & it was warm I couldn't wait to get out of there! The next day I skipped my gym reservation & walked to the nearby park for my workout. I will not be back. They need to improve on cleanliness and renovation on their rooms. Take out the carpet & just have tile it's easier to sanitize & clean. The curtains had tiny holes --probably a moth problem yuck! Do better Marriott! read more

The whole POINT of a RESERVATION is referred to the act of booking or reserving something in advance to have it READY for the person who reserved it. This doesn't mean telling the guest at 4pm that the room isn't ready and making them wait an hour especially since checkout is at 11am. So in that 5 hours you all couldn't tidy up a room and have it ready? This is evident to why you got the rating you got. Also, if you decide to change times for breakfast from end at 10am to 9:30, that should be communicated to the guests, either at check in or night before. Your price point per night doesn't equate to the quality of services rendered, you all are taking advantage of people who are in town for weddings and not providing the Marriott experience, rather a Motel 6 experience. I truly hope corporate sees this review and has a conversation with the management of this facility. Because the only thing that needs to be tidied up is your operations. Also, stop making empty apologies, mention what you are apologizing for and how you plan to rectify it. read more

Before I begin, I have to say take a look at the pictures that I've posted... that way this review isn't dismissed as emotional and baseless. Now that that's out of the way - I gotta say that my family was absolutely disgusted with this hotel. It looks like someone tossed a filth bomb in our room. We're not the types to complain a lot about cleanliness but this room was just nasty. 1. To begin, there was a bloody towel hanging in the closet when we got into the room! Okay, it's quite possible that it was not blood on the towel but it definitely looked like it. The fact is there was a used towel in the closet. The tile had a red smudges all over it. Why was the closet not cleaned before we walked into the room? 2. There was an open linen bag on the floor in the closet. That's right, someone used the sheets through the bag on the floor... Then, the sheets were never replaced. My 16 year old son had to sleep on the nasty couch covered with nothing but a bath towel. We would have asked for extra sheets for him but we did not realize that he made this decision until the next morning. He did not want to bother us about the room because he knew we were already upset. 3. The iron was used that cord was hanging on the floor and was never wrapped and put away when we got into the room. 4. There was huge dried food stains on the coffee table in the living room area. 5. The leather chair in the living room area was full of food and crumbs. I used a wet napkin to clean it up. Take a look at the junk on it in the picture. 6. The soap dispenser in the bathroom was freaking empty... All of this filth and we could not even clean up. 7. The soap dispenser in the bathroom was nasty and dirty. See the attached pictures. 8. There is a big red stain in the carpet near the living room window... Perhaps the same blood like material on the towel in the closet? 9. There is a $10 parking fee but it's not advertised online. 10. They don't make it clear online or at check-in that you cannot use the pool without a reservation. We dressed in swim clothes and tried to escape the dirty room by going to the pool but when we got there our key would not work. After speaking with the front desk we realized that the pool is by reservation only so we still had to go back to the dirty room. 11. Here with the biggest problem for me... I explained to management how dirty the rooms were and even showed the pictures of the bloody towel hanging in the closet. He said he would have the room cleaned better while we swam but we realized we couldn't swim... We agreed on a lowered price for the room and I decided to take my family out for dinner while the room got cleaned. We left for 2 hours and came back at about 10:00 p.m. we get to the room and everything that we have taken pictures of previously was still there... The stain on the coffee table, the filth on the soap dispenser and even the bloody towel. All still there! I went down and spoke to management again. The front desk worker apologized and personally came up and removed the towel from the room. By this time it was 11:00 p.m. and too late to go anywhere else so we just went to sleep. We were disgusted with the horrible quality of "cleanliness" during a pandemic. So... We paid $200 plus $10 parking to be here. At first management offered to take $25 off the room and we agreed but then we realized we couldn't swim (therefore were bound to the room). We then decided that we would ask them to reduce the hotel price to $100 or leave. They agreed and we went to dinner at a nice place just to get away from the room. When we got back, we realized the towel was still in the room and the filth was still there. We were too exhausted to make an issue of it so we went to sleep. Then at 1am the alarm rings with an ear piercing end of the world themed tone. It was 100% disturbing. I question if either the original person who serviced our room or even front desk clerk or room did it on purpose (the clerk closed the door behind himself and was in the room for about 90-120 seconds alone while getting the towel from the closet). Either way, this was extremely disturbing to wake up to. 12. The next morning was when we realize my son never had proper linens in his room and slept with a bath towel. 13. Before we left we went to breakfast. A very controlled "grab and go" process. We were only allowed to grab either a burrito or oatmeal but not both. Then we could grab only 2 other small items (eggs, muffins, granola bar, cereal etc). Pre-pandemic we could get a bowl of oatmeal, burrito, and as much as we want. It seems money grabbing to charge the same price for rooms but give us less for it. Regardless, I would never stay at a Residence Inn again. I may also contact city/county officials. Im sure the tourism board would love to hear about a towel with possible body fluids left in a room during a pandemic. I'm a Bonvoy member, so I love all Marriott family hotels. However, I was very pissed at arrival. I had called to inform them that we'd be arriving fairly late. And they stated it would not be an issue. Someone is at the desk 24 hours and a note would be placed for the evening staff. Upon arrival, after a long drive, the front entrance was locked. And no one could be found! I called the front desk several times and rang the door bell constantly. Even banging on the glass doors! I believe it was 10 minutes of acting like the crazy ex wanting their stuff back, that someone emerged from the depth of the back office. The breakfast was good with the usual basic hot plates. Our room was on a high floor as I requested. And we had extra pillows as requested as well. read more

I have stayed here several times, but I would probably not stay here anymore. If you are in the west side rooms, you will be woken up every day by the building of a apartment complex. My toilet also refilled every 10 minutes because of the leaky gasket. I had to unplug the refrigerator because it was so loud. They do have a small breakfast that is OK with free coffee. Third time I've stayed here. Reason for our stay was the location. We played in a soccer tournament at the fields next door. Upon arrival they upgraded us to a suite at no additional charge. That was nice. Really spacious 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a kitchen. More than enough room for our family of 4. I noticed a human hair in the bathtub and dog hair on the carpet. The shampoo, conditioner, and body wash bottles would not dispense. Upon departure I was charged a $150 pet cleaning fee. I explained to the Manager that the dog hair was on the carpet when we arrived. She waved the fee. Over all, decent stay. Comfortable mattresses and a good breakfast. read more

Checked in on 9/10/2020 to escape the smoke from the wild fires. Check in was pleasant. Room was wonderful my first and second night. Then Saturday came. A constant LOUD, squeeky noise started emanating from the bathroom wall. I first thought it was a fire alarm out in the hall way. But when I opened the door, nothing. When I discovered that it was coming from my bathroom, I videoed it so that the front desk would know EXACTLY what I was hearing. He said it sounded like pipes in the wall and that the remedy was likely to jiggle the toiled handle. Back in my room, I flushed the toilet...and POOF...no more noise. Only thing is that I had to do this dance over the next several hours. It finally stopped and my next two days there were quiet. My only other complaint is this: I knew that pre-COVID, breakfast was complimentary during the stay. However, with social distancing and the like, I assumed that was not an option. I didn't find out until my Sunday (which was originally my last day - but I extended for a day) that the offer boxed breakfast. That should have been communicated at check in or by a sign in the room's kitchen. SOMETHING!!! I only found out because I asked (out of curiosity). One last thing: the basic (free) internet (and television reception) was spotty at best. My TV kept shutting down. When I filled out the online survey about my stay, I received an email from Brandon, the General Manager at this location. He apologized for falling short and stated it was a "teachable moment". I appreciate the apology. But, since I stated in the survey that I didn't plan on returning to that location, compensation for my one day of jumping up and down to flush the toilet would have been more than acceptable. read more

Upon arriving to the hotel, the front desk seemed to be slammed with multiple check-ins and only 1 girl working the desk. I downloaded the application and checked in per the email confirmation I received, informing me that if I downloaded the app I would be able to check-in beforehand to avoid any wait once we arrived.  That wasn't the case, but that didn't bother me at all.  I understand things happen and the the girl handled each guest as quickly as she could. I wish I got her name, but I was unable to (her hair was covering her name tag; she had long hair and was very sweet). The rooms are nice with comfy beds (even the sofa bed was comfy), no complaints there. What really ruined our stay was the night shift front desk employee, Lynette. My best friend got married at the Hartley Botanica on Sunday 9/1/19 and she had a room block arranged at this hotel. They already discussed with the sales manager about having people in the lobby after the wedding, so we don't disturb guests in their rooms, and they said it wasn't a problem so long as there weren't any guest complaints. If the hotel had arranged the room block so that everyone apart of the wedding was next to each other, then we would have remained in our suites-- but that wasn't the case. Considering the other guests at the hotel, we told our party to go to the lobby. There was probably about 20-30 of us and we were in the lobby area where they have TV's, as well as the Pool table room. Yes we were making noise, but THERE WERE NO COMPLAINTS from any guests that night. The front desk girl, Lynette, went on a power trip (trying to ruin our celebration for the newly wed) telling us we were too loud. I went to speak with her nicely, and I asked her "did she receive any complaints from other guests" and she replied "No, but you're bothering me." Then I told her "I apologize for the noise, but we already spoke with your managers when arranging the room block and they said it was okay for us to hang in the lobby after the wedding. IF there aren't any guests that complained, then I don't see what the problem is.  Would you prefer we go to our rooms and disturb the other guests??" Then she came back with "I'm not aware of what other managers arranged. I can call the cops and have them come here to make  you guys go to your room".. WHAT KIND OF HOSPITALITY IS THAT MARRIOTT?? We DO NOT book your hotel to receive threats on a night we're trying to celebrate with family and friends. NOT ONE HOTEL GUEST complained about any noise. Your power tripping employee Lynette took it upon herself to SMEAR your brand name and attempt to ruin our night. It is absolutely unacceptable and she should NOT be placed in a position to deal with guests with that kind of attitude. Not only did she upset the bride and groom, but their families as well.  I definitely will NOT be booking this hotel again and for those who are looking to get a room block here, I'd probably reconsider it unless they make some changes with their staff. read more

Checked in Friday 9/4 about 7pm. Staff was very friendly and informative. They lock lobby doors my guess is around 10. My key didn't work and I couldn't get in anywhere. The evening staff were not friendly or helpful. I felt uncomfortable (like I was bothering them). asking them for help with my key. The front desk staff in the morning (630am female, 10am male) Rude, unhelpful and unavailable. Had to wait a long time (7miin or longer) for someone to come to the desk and address us. Pool scheduling was a little weird also. Not enough people at the front desk to help. Only 1 female employee @4pm. She had to let us in the pool area but couldn't because she was so busy. Pool and BBQ not managed well. People waiting for their room were swimming 6 total, 2 other families in the pool area also. Door was propped open. No one came out to clean or check the pool area until after 5p. Rooms were upgraded, modern. I like the set up. Small but roomy. read more

Why spend less on a motel six when you can spend much more on a crap hotel! Uncomfortable bed, uncomfortable couch, terrible A/C, thin walls, crap "continental breakfast", barely there wifi, and key cards that pretty much never work so you get to know the meh staff. Book never! read more

If I had to give this review on the rooms alone, it would be a one or two star. The rooms are old and I was in their top suite. They seemed fairly clean, although I never wanted to take my shoes off and walk around. The walls are stained and the showers/bathtubs are old and stained as well. In all fairness, I only saw two rooms, but I was in one of their best rooms. The best part of the hotel itself is the pool area. Not even necessarily for swimming, but it's a nice area that receive sun where you can work on your laptop or eat your lunch. If you stay at this hotel, I would highly recommend getting food at the little Mexican restaurant located inside the gas station across the street. I know it sounds random to get food at a gas station, and believe me I needed some very nice places. But the woman that prepares and serves the Mexican food is super friendly and does an excellent job with each of the items! The front desk staff, which I interacted with a couple different times, were unremarkable. They were not particularly helpful, nor were they rude or unhelpful. Next time I stay in Camarillo, I will be looking to see if there is a better place to stay than this property. read more
