My first error was choosing this place from the beginning. The second, was trusting the owner with my maid of honor suit. The third, was paying him (more like being ripped off) for damaging my suit and falsely advertising his professional services. The intent of my review serves as a warning to folks hoping to get their clothing altered to their heart's delight and to shine a light onto the lack of professionalism, terrible service, and incompetent skills/experience of the owner, Edris. Please, stay away! To start off, save your money and find a different establishment/tailor to alter your clothing! This dude does NOT know what he's doing, especially for the exorbitant amount he charges! I suspect he may be scamming folks. You should consider contributing your money towards a business that deserves it, staff you can trust, and for peace of mind knowing that your clothing won't be destroyed. When I initially called Edris, he had told me via phone that he would be able to alter my suit within 48 hours. Since the wedding I was attending was just a week away and I was in a time crunch, I committed too preemptively. I was initially relieved that I had found a tailor that could alter my suit in such a short time. Boy oh boy, I hadn't a clue the heartbreak and disappointment I'd experience in just a few days. Four days later (outside of the 48 hour window I was initially told), I arrived to B Street Cleaners with my suit, excited to have it altered to my heart's delight. The fitting seemed lackluster. Edris didn't really seem to care about fitting my suit in a way that aligned with my body. He stuck some pins in a few places and would say "that's good" To which I'd respond, "no" and give him direction on what I wanted. I had specifically asked that my suit be tailored to form-fit my body, as it was visibly too baggy/large on me. He didn't take any measurements and didn't alter the suit in a way that fit my body. He seemed to do the bare minimum and it was as if he had never altered a suit before. This should've been the red flag warning me to take my suit and walk out the door. Ultimately, I claim responsibility in making a poor choice in trusting Edris with my wedding suit. However, he is accountable for destroying my suit AND - the cherry on top - leaving a blood stain on the inside of my jacket. He didn't disclose that information nor did he even make an attempt to clean it when I picked it up. And ot course, I didn't notice it until I flew back home and tried it on for my family to see. This was absolutely disturbing and I was appalled that someone who calls themselves a professional didn't even try to fix or mitigate this risky and hazardous mistake. Edris ruined and destroyed my suit with his lousy alterations. Rather than doing what I had asked and what was agreed upon (to have my pants shortened/hemmed from the bottom and to have my jacket shortened & form-fitted so it didn't look so baggy), he made unauthorized alterations. Instead of hemming them from the bottom, he shortened my pants from the crotch/inseam. So much so, that when I tried them on, the seat rode up my buttocks and the pants were incredibly uncomfortable. As a professional, who does that?!? There's no worse thing than to have a wedding suit destroyed and made unwearable, and that was the experience I had after taking my suit to B Street Cleaners. Also, if you happen to be someone in the LGBTQ+ community, I STRONGLY encourage you to go elsewhere, as you may face the risk of having your clothing intentionally ruined. I don't understand how a business that has HUNDREDS of five-star reviews, produces this kind of horrible work and service. Please save yourself the headache, the heartbreak, and from being ripped off/scammed. There are plenty of other tailors out there who will grant you your monies worth, and adjust your clothing to fit your form and make look beautiful.

The woman I spoke with gave me a specific time. I believed her and drove over from La Mesa, only to find out the time she'd given me was wrong. That drive used up time I didn't have to spare. With a no-notice emergency like this, every single minute mattered -- I still needed to find a cleaner that could actually take the clothes and get them done before my flight. Her bad information didn't just cost me a drive; it cost me the option of going somewhere else that morning. I hope this was a fluke -- a bad day, a new employee, a mix-up. But whatever caused it, the effect was the same: it turned an already dire situation into a worse one. It was only because of the unexpected kindness of a stranger that I didn't go to a job interview reeking of smoke damage. I never had my clothes cleaned at San Diego Dry Cleaners, and I didn't pay for anything, so I can't speak to their quality or prices. I never got that far -- which was the whole point.

When I want it. There was an incident where they had difficulty with a new Tommy Bahama shirt I received as a gift. Instead of telling me about the difficulty, they went out and bought me a brand new shirt. Who does that these days? That is next level service like Nordstrom. When I told them at Tommy Bahama they were very impressed and told me that if they could get the old shirt back they would do an even exchange. Unfortunately, when I asked my dry cleaner for the shirt they had already thrown it away. So they ate the expense. That is integrity. - Second, I was in the business picking up my clothes when I witnessed an ugly scene. A woman who appeared to be active duty military come in in and bring a garment back that had been in her closet for over 16 months. She was not happy and claimed that when she brought it in the first item and she had only worn it once but when she cam back there was a large white streak going across it. When the owner pointed out that she should have brought it back right away as they do no typically give a garment back in that condition. This woman lost her cool and said that it was basically the cleaners fault. So the cleaner graciously responded that they would give it another cleaning at their expense but if she has an issues in the future to please bring it to their attention within 30 days. The woman were was very cold and said that she would expect that at the minimum. The next I was there I asked about the woman and the cleaner said that her husband determined that the white streak was caused my moths in her closet. When she told the woman about the infestation, she became irate and said that she would never bring her clothes back there and she would tell all her neighbors not to go there either. I thought that was not only unfair, but just mean especially since there have been other reviews where people have given them less then good reviews because of the cost. I think they are fairly priced and do great work. They have great integrity too. I would have my mom take her dry cleaning there.

Apadana Cleaners far and away is the most unethical company I've ever come across:…read more In September of 2024, I purchase a suede leather jacket at Le Pelle in Florence, Italy for 750 Euros ($875US). I wore the jacket 4 times before taking it to Apadana Cleaners for a maintenance. Before taking the jacket to Apadana cleaners, I called several cleaners around town to see who had expertise and experience in suede. I explicated asked if they cleaned suede in house or if they sent it out to another party. Apadana Cleaners stated they had 25 years of experience cleaning suede and they did ALL of their cleaning in house. On Thursday June 12th, 2025 I dropped of my suede leather Jacket at Apadana Cleaners for a maintenance cleaning. When I arrived at Apadana cleaners on July 14th to pick up the jacket. I was told the jacket had been cleaned by an external company. I was told I would not be charged because the external company had not done a good job of cleaning the jacket. While at the store I took the jacket out of the plastic cover it was in to find the jacket looked very different. There were spots on the jacket that were discolored, the texture felt different, and it looked dirtier than when I dropped it off. When I pointed this out, Apadana Cleaners said they could send it back to the external company to have it redone. Not fully processing how bad the jacket looked, I agreed. When I got home, I called back and stated that it appeared the jacket had been ruined, and it did not make sense to send it back to the company that ruined the jacket. I requested they send it to Margaret's Cleaners, who are known for leather restoration. Apadana Cleaners agreed. On, July 23rd, 2025, Apadana Cleaners texted that Margaret's Cleaners had stated that the jacket was indeed ruined. The lining had bled into the leather so it could not be restored. They said they contacted the seller in Italy to inquire about purchasing a replacement. On July 24th, Apadana Cleaners said that the replace jacket was 350 Euros ($413US) and sent me a screen shot of an email in Italian from the seller. When I translated the screen shot, it said they would sell the jacket at 350 Euros due to it being the last one, but the size was XXL not Medium (my size). The message also said I would have to pay for shipping (approximately 100 Euros) plus tariffs (at the time of the message, tariffs were set at 30%, which would equal 105 Euros), plus $30 US customs fee. I got estimates from 4 different tailors in San Diego and Los Angeles. Estimates ranged from $300 - $600. When I reached out to the seller in Florence, they forwarded me the email they had sent to Apadana cleaners. They email they sent to Apadana cleaners was in both English and Italian. Apadana Cleaners took a screen shot of the portion of the email that was in Italian, clearly trying to deceive me into taking 350 Euros ($413US) as the replacement cost without me realizing that was for the wrong size (XXL) and the additional shipping, tariff, and custom costs. Actual cost of replacement - 350 Euros for XXL jacket, 100 Euros for shipping, 105 Euros tariffs = 455 Euros = $537US + $30 US Customs fee + $300 -$600 in tailoring costs = $867 - $1167. I requested $967 from Apadana Cleaners, and I requested to pick up the original jacket. I wanted evidence of how badly the original jacket had been ruined. After picking up the jacket, I realized the jacket was even worse than I originally had thought. The stitching all the way up and down the lapels had been completely redone and redone very poorly. The stitching was also redone around some of the buttonholes. The jacket had also shrunk, so it did not even fit anymore. Apadana Cleaners was clearly aware the jacket had been discolored and restitched when they tried to give it back to me at no charge. So rather than owning up to their mistake they were hoping I would just take the jacket home and not notice the damaged leather and the incredibly bad stitching that had been redone. Once I requested the $967 for a replacement, Apadana Cleaners stopped responding to all communications.

That was an outright lie. They created a 10-inch tear through the front and back of the shirt. Why would I bring in a "previously damaged" shirt for dry cleaning? They ruined it, tried to hide it, and then still charged me for the cleaning. On top of that, their laundry pricing is misleading. The website clearly says $3.99/lb, but when I went to pay, they tried to charge $5.99/lb. When I pointed out the online price, they literally asked me, "How much do you want to pay?" and then randomly settled on $4.99/lb. Dishonest, careless, and unprofessional. I will never return, and I strongly recommend avoiding this place. RESPONSE TO OWNER'S RESPONSE BELOW: You must be referring to someone else. If you read the review, you will see that the shirt I brought in was clean and new. You damaged it, did not say anything and went ahead and charged me. Photo attached.
