I went here based on the decent Yelp reviews. The location is not the easiest to drive to because ingress/egress is via a single driveway which can only be accessed heading eastbound on Clairemont Mesa Blvd., and the driveway is immediately before the I-805 south freeway entrance. The customer service was mediocre as I was greeted by an older woman who was not smiling, and she was a bit unfriendly. She didn't seem to care about earning my business when I stated that it was my first time. She quoted $28 for 2 men's button shirts and 2 men's slacks and stated it would be ready in 4 days. When I picked up my items, the total was $36.60, and no explanation was provided for the discrepancy in price. My clothes were cleaned as expected, but I will not return due to the lack of price transparency, awkward customer service, and location. read more

Walking in you just know you are going to get Great Service! I got a very warm welcome from the owner, and we chatted a bit about the shopping center where Fairlane is located. It's the strip mall just before you get on 805 on Clairemont. It's at the opposite end of STP Burger Joint. There have been a lot of shops move in and out here, but Fairlane has been a mainstay. I left my clothes and was given a ticket saying my clothes would be ready Friday. (I was there on Wednesday. Alas! I got a text on Thursday saying my clothes were done, and to pick up before 5:00pm. I'm very picky and this established is spot on great. First, the woman that greeted me was so nice. I explained that ink was somehow scribbled on a leather jacket that was given to me. She was very upfront and told me the price it would cost to get it cleaned. It was reasonable considering it was scribbling on leather! They texted when it was ready...how cool is that! I tried this cleaner because they advertised "organic dry cleaning." The work done on a Ralph Lauren cotton sweater and a Calvin Klein wool throw was completely unacceptable -- the sweater had two spots where the material was stripped away from the backing and the throw was wrinkled with deep creases. The owners did not respond to two messages I left for them. The only response came after I sent a fax, which I was lucky to get through since they said the fax is usually off. They redid the items. The throw was re-pressed in an acceptable manner but the damage to the sweater was irreversible and I will be donating it to charity. The three-year old sweater originally cost $225. Since I bought it on sale, and due to its age, I asked Fairlane to reimburse me $24 plus the drycleaning charge. They refused. I next decided to check them out. On the website of the "Voice of San Diego," an independent non-profit, they are listed as the 2nd highest polluting business in the 92117 zip code -- higher than all gas stations in the area. It's possible the information is not current and they have replaced their polluting equipment and chemicals with an environmentally friendly cleaning system. If you have fine clothes, I'd go elsewhere (like Ogden's in La Jolla). If you do go, ask them to show you documentation of their "organic dry cleaning." read more

A few weeks ago I brought in my wedding dress to get dry cleaned. The first AND second time I went there the employee could not give me a price for dry cleaning my dress. Finally, the third time I was able to get a price and it was a really good price too. But when I got the dress back there were two yellow stains the size of a dime on each side of the dress at the top which were not there when I brought the dress in. The employee tried to tell me that the dry cleaning process brings out hidden stains. The funny thing is that this dress had only been tried on at the bridal shop...it was one of the floor dresses! Luckily someone that knows the owner vouched for me that the stains were not there when I brought the dress in and they took it back to try to get the stains out. It two extra dry cleanings to get the stains out but they finally did get them out. read more

My favorite cleaners! Have been going there for several years now, though it's always been a little out of my way. It's worth it. They have really taken great care of my clothes (work and home) and I am really picky. Love seeing Sarah there at the counter; very nice lady. Felt I had to post this review after just spilling dark coffee all over the front of my favorite EB t-shirt. I have no idea how she or they got it out, but it's snow white again... one of the many times they saved an article of mine when I was in despair, haha! I regularly go to Fairlane cleaners and have been very happy with their quality of work. I take at least 20-30 items to them per month, mostly shirts, Sweaters, Pants and sometimes my wife's clothes as well. They have even cleaned some huge drapes that I had in storage for years and everything has always been good. I live in Clairemont so this is the cleaners that is on my way to work and an easy stop on the way home. I have it in early in the morning and pick it up on the way home. Service is friendly and efficient, my stuff is clean and pressed. The price is less then most cleaners. Excellent value at this location. Been going here for over 4 years. Not sure why there are negative comments here, I guess everyone's experience is different. I would say, without hesitation to try this place. They do a great job and the price is fair. read more

Just don't go here. The Fairlane chain split up and now are separately owner shops. I had gone here for years, skipped a few years because I moved, then went back when it was again conveniently located for me. After they ruined my jacket, (looked like they ran a cart over it, tire tracks and all) and refused to admit it or compensate me and had to redo 50% OF MY ORDER BECAUSE THE ITEMS WERE STILL SPOTTED (YES, I POINTED OUT THE SPOTS WHEN I BROUGHT THEM IN ), I asked to see their business license. It was expired! Bad management, bad work and did not treat me in a fair and honest manner. read more

Good service here. I have only ever used them for Dry Cleaning suits and pants, and shirts for Laundry, for the last 4 years. I've never had a problem. I see some of the older posts where people had problems, but that was more than a year ago. Lately they have improved very much, and the staff is much, much better than it used to be. After going to 3 different dry cleaners in my area and one delivery service on a Friday afternoon no one was able to accommodate my request of having my suit dry cleaned by Monday. They have organic dry cleaning They will call you if there is a delicate issue with your clothes and to confirm if you would like to have it cleaned. I have been going to Fairlane Cleaners for years and I have always liked there work and never had a problem. Back in August 2015 I bought a sweater on line from QVC in an extra small. When I took out the sweater to wear this winter I noticed that on the side of the sweater there was a little rip so I thought I would bring it in with my cleaning to get it repaired. I told the girl at the counter I just needed it mended. I picked it up and when I went to put it away I notice that the rip was still there. I took it right back and talked to the owner who was a woman and she said that there was a misunderstanding and that they cleaned the sweater instead of mending it and that she was sorry and I could picked it up tomorrow. A few days later I picked up the sweater and took it out of the plastic and I could not believe it. The sweater looked like it was a extra large. For some reason the sweater got stretched. I was not mad because I thought it was funny. I talked to the owner and he could not believe it and told me to leave it with him and he would see what he could do to fix it. I picked it up a few days later and he said he could not do anything to stretch it back. He asked me what I wanted and he did not have a good attitude. I told him I wanted $53 for what I paid for the sweater so I could replace it and he said no. I told him I was not mad and he could give me a credit toward my cleaning. He said he was not going to give me $53.00. He said he wanted a receipt and he would give to his insurance Company. I am a small business owner and I know what customer service is and how to keep your customers happy. He did not care and I would never go back. We will see if I ever hear from him again. $53 is not worth loosing a good customer. read more

Well, based off of the reviews here, I took in two shirts and a pair of pants that I needed the next week for an interview. I SHOULD have checked them before I payed and walked away, because when I got home my white dress shirt had black silt/smudges around the collar. Needless to say, I called in to see what their typical policy was for this, knowing that I needed them soon for an interview. I spoke with an asian man who was completely unhelpful and hung up on me when I said "I think you've just lost a customer." A call back later was answered by a young lady who was somewhat more helpful, but still didn't really offer to rectify the situation. I won't be back, and I wouldn't recommend them. read more

Although I used to like this cleaner, their dry cleaning isn't what it used to be. Over the last few months a number of my items have been returned still dirty. I complained to the manager and was told that dry cleaning doesn't clean clothes - that you need to wash them yourself if you want to clean them. I've never had this problem at other dry cleaners. read more

I love these cleaners. In fact, I love then so much that even though I've moved out of the area, I still trek over there to have my clothes cleaned by them. They've cleaned booze stains, and gum from some of my favorite clothes that I feared I had ruined. Also, the staff is friendly and they use more environmentally friendly cleaning products (so that gross chemically smell is absent). The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is because on a few occasions I've had some things not finished by the promised time, so if you must have it by 5 let them know. read more

The owner of this place is horrible. The clerks are nice but clearly have no power. Owner is rude and not customer friendly. He was very hard to understand (english not his first language). He accused me of washing it at home, which I did not, and told me that it was not worth his time to try and fix a stained dress even if it made me happy. Color bled on to an area of a dress and when i brought it back to have it redone the owner questioned if I was even a customer when computer records in front of him show over 10 yrs of service. I took the dress across the street and they fixed it .. no problem. Fairlane in Clairemont lost a good customer..... i will never step foot in that place again! They do not stand by their work and the owner is AWFUL!!!!!!! read more
