I got a small cup with a half scoop of dark chocolate and half peanut butter choco flake. That combination was great even though it was a struggle to decide on those flavors. I'm not sure of the variance of offerings between this location and the Fairway location. One thing I did notice is they don't have the soft serve options here so no dip cones. Great service and a fun spot to hang out and enjoy some ice cream.

A new Fairway Creamery location has opened in Westside!!! This tiny little space tucked in next to Goat Hill Coffee on 17th Street is the PERFECT location for a tiny little ice cream store. There is space for a few seats indoors, but luckily they have a small patio with outdoor seating as well. Westside has been missing a sweet treat location, and Fairway Creamery is the perfect dessert location if you have room after a delicious dinner in Westside. Fairway Creamery has some of the creamiest ice cream in the city, and they always have the most creative flavors (rose pistachio, pineapple banana coconut, horchata, etc) alongside classic flavors (birthday cake, dark chocolate, peanut butter, etc.) They have fewer flavors at this smaller location, but they have a fridge full of pints of other flavors as well! I also feel like they are super generous with their scoops at Fairway, so you get a good bang for your buck. Parking in Westside can be a challenge on the weekends, but it's worth it to search for street parking for this delicious ice cream.

Cutest little ice cream shop in the Westside! The service was so fast and the ambiance outside was nice. I got half PB swirl and half cookies & cream. The cookies and cream was sooo good!

If you're in the mood for fall flavors, of the frozen variety, be sure to try the golden chai and the apple pie ice creams. The warm spices of both flavors pair very well together and are a near perfect combination, especially if you get a split scoop (or two scoops if you're feeling frisky). The golden chai is such a unique flavor with the slight yellow color coming from turmeric and subtle sweetness as well as pronounced spices of cinnamon, cardamom, ginger and clove. This profile of warm Indian spices is a great match to the traditional spice profile found in all-American apple pie, which usually contains nutmeg, allspice, ginger, cloves and cinnamon. The apple pie ice cream itself has a nice textural component with the pockets of graham crumble crust but, it doesn't have chunks of apple rather a pronounced apple flavor in the base. The ice cream at fairway creamery is indeed creamy and smooth without being grainy or icy at all. It is definitely a sensational scoop of nostalgia with new school twists.

I love a lot of spots around the metro, but let's be honest, some of them get crazy busy and you end up waiting in line for a while. That's not a dealbreaker, but with a summer of social distancing, it's nice to have a spot like Annedore's that is tucked into the neighborhoods, has outdoor seating, and is never too busy. Their gelato is so good, and the service is friendly as it gets. We've made a tradition of walking up here as a family once a week, and together we've ordered or sampled: Cookies & Cream, Birthday Cake, Mint Chip, Chocolate Chip, Coconut, Strawberry, Berry Sorbet, Vanilla, and Lemon Basil. All are great (not crazy about the birthday cake one my kiddo always gets), the Berry Sorbet and Lemon Basil are standouts on a hot day. Their portions are generous, prices are very fair, the outdoor seating is great, and it's a very clean shop. Oh, and I recently discovered that macarons are delicious, and theirs are some of the best around. They're around $2.50 a pop and well worth it. I cannot recommend this place enough for gelato, macarons, and of course chocolate if that's your thing. Want to skip lines for ice cream (well, gelato) this summer and still support local?
