Disclaimer: I am NOT well versed in Gyros. I've had them several times over the years but have no clue what a traditional one is supposed to be. I had plans on going to the neighboring Panda Express but decided to try this spot spontaneously after pulling into the parking lot. I wanted to support a small business rather than a chain and thought I'd try something new. I was a little unsure about how their menu worked and had to ask what came in a platter (rice and I *think* something else). I'd never had falafel and am still not sure if it's some sort of fried waffle or what. I like Gyros but very rarely get them so I went with the lamb variety. Once I got it back to the car, I noticed that it was wrapped like a burrito and decided to eat it like one. I pulled back the first strip of foil and saw that it had been grilled?! Completely caught me by surprise, as I'd never had or seen an Gyro like this before. My past experiences had all been closer to a pita or sort of a wrap that struggled to stay together and ended up being a mess. I also noticed their version had huge pieces of green bell pepper. Again, not sure if this standard but I didn't remember having that before either. All in all, the Gyro was pretty good and very filling. I'm glad I didn't get the platter because after finishing this, I was stuffed. Because of the way it was wrapped and made, I kind of felt like I was eating some sort of grilled burrito/gyro fusion wrap. Not exactly what I was expecting but it kind of worked.

I'm convinced that they're trying to throw people off by pretending to be a generic falafel chain...but locals know that this place is legit! Go for the falafel plates and gyro wrap + fries. They moved recently so the space is very new with plenty of seating, but don't be fooled. They're not green, their food reveals their expert handling of the meat, the proportions, and the taste of their hummus and baba ganoush. My husband craves it and tries to get Falafel express once a week.

I would rate this place a 3.5/5. So for the gyro meat, it wasn't as flavorful, charred or seasoned enough. It tastes not bad but just not as great when you compare. There is plenty of meat even if you don't order the half pounder gyro. For the wrap, I thought there was too much white sauce. I liked that they can add hot sauce. I also liked that they panini pressed my gyro wrap after they wrapped it so that it is warm thru and thru. But panini pressing made the foil stuck onto it so I guess there's no best solution.

This place has great falafel wraps. I would say it is a take out place rather than a dine in. The quantity is decent enough for lunch. There are two to three vegetarian options which include Falafel and hummus. The place had a weird smell though! Overall loved the falafel wrap and it is a good takeout place

I eat from here at least once a week. I get the chicken shawarma platter, add baba. The wraps are a good deal at $8. Generic name, generic location, outstanding flavor! One of the best baba ghanoush that I've had.

Tortillas (hard as a rock) instead of pita and pitas you can get at a store. Waste of $

A pita I could have bought at the grocery store and what is left of a less than sub-par falafel "burrito" that I could not eat because the tortilla was hard as a rock! Not sure why they use tortillas for euros? I will never waste my money there again. Terrible food! The hummus and falafel were ok, not remarkable.

This is my new favorite place. Very clean inside. More importantly the food is amazing! The best Gyros hands down and super generous size! Regarding the Falafel, I have never really liked Falafel as every time I've tried it elsewhere they have been huge and dry. But not here! The Falafel here.... amazing! Pile of crap. We thought by the ratings, it would be decent. The "pita" wrap is actually more like a tortilla. The felafel wasn't authentic and the gyro meat was like a cardboard texture with no flavor. Fries were cooked decently. read more

Very average food and awful customer service. Here it says they close at 8pm and I arrived at 7:42 to pick up and the guy already packed everything up, except my food? ok.... Refused to provide garlic sauce as well. So the food must be good at least, right? Wrong! One of the worst mediterranean food I've had since moving to Portland. read more

Stumbled in Falafel Express purely by accident. Fell in love with the food. The flavors are authentic and Sharma is an amazing Chef. I had the shamashen and bought some falafel balls for later. Everything was hit, fresh, and delicious. A nice relief from the normal types of fast food. Nice small restaurant where you can eat in (tables and chairs available outside) or take out. I'll definitely be back (or just find an excuse to be in that area!) read more

These falafels were a solid falafel but they were extremely small. They were about the size of a ping pong ball. They had good flavor but the tahini sauce that came with them was a little runny for my liking. I would go back to try some other things on the menu but I don't think that I would get the falafels next time read more

I was pretty excited to stumble upon this place today at lunch. I had the Falafel Wrap and I had the option of having it spicy so I did. It was delicious! The falafel was well seasoned and not too dry, the pita bread was perfect, and it was nice and spicy. The service was pretty quick despite the lunch time rush! I basically walked in, perused the menu, made my selection, and after a brief wait my order was ready. I took my food to go, but there are plenty of tables if you want to stay and eat. The food is very reasonably priced considering how much food you get. The parking lot is fairly small and can get a little dicey. Nonetheless, if you are ever in the area, definitely check it out. read more

We love this place! The owner is so nice and the food is amazing--we eat here like once a week. The falafel is delicious and crispy and the hummus and pita is so good. Came here for the 1st time last week. Ordered the chicken shawarma sandwich.. Very delicious!! Being from the Middle East myself, I can vouch for this restaurant as serving authentic food. I work nearby, and all of us in the office have been very interested in trying the newly opened Mediterranean spot for lunch. Today was my chance, and the gyro wrap I got is very good! They ask if you want it spicy or not, which was something I've never experienced with a gyro before, but I LOVE spicy food and it made the wrap even better! I asked for an extra side of garlic sauce, and they were kind enough to give me one free of charge. Usually they're $1 which was just going to be too much in my mind. But the sauce itself is a mix of a red sauce, maybe harissa, and then a creamy sauce over it, likely a garlic aioli. It looks tasty, and the white cream sauce definitely has a bite! But the acid in the tomato balances it out nicely. Five stars, thank you so much! read more

I got the falafel platter and was really happy with it. The falafel balls are crispy but also soft on the inside and not dried out like a lot of other places. Hummus is delicious and the salad underneath was fresh. On top of that, everyone was very nice. I just started working 2 minutes away & will be coming here often! read more

This place was pretty unique. I got the gyro and it was unlike a gyro I have ever had. It was wrapped more like a burrito and the wrap used was much more like a tortilla than the usual pita type bread. I personally was not a big fan of the flavor of this gyro, but it was unique and seemed quality. This place is worth giving a shot, the employees were nice and the place seems more authentic than most. That might be my issue, I may just like the Americanized gyro more. Give this place a shot tho. read more

Got there late, near close with a mobile order. They didn't even start frying or preparing anything till we arrived, which was incredible and thoughtful. Been there twice so far for lunch takeout. Gyro was delicious. Their style of pita bread is thinner than most, almost like a tortilla. Still really good, though. Baba ganoush was great, too. Wish they would have given more pita with it. Fries are mediocre. Service & atmosphere were mediocre. Prices reasonable for the area & amount of food. Recommend takeout. read more

Great location but hard to find parking when it's busy during the day. This place makes my top 5 so far. Ceremonial grade matcha? Yes, please. If you're looking for super sweet tea drinks, this is not the place for you. It's well balanced and more on the bitter side with a dash of syrup. This is how I like my drinks. We ordered the project matcha latte and jasmine matcha latte with oat milk. *milk substitute is oat or almond but no soy milk. They have a coconut based matcha drink though! Prices are reasonable and on par with other tea spots. I really enjoyed our drinks. Perfect proportion for jasmine and matcha, one did not overpower the other. Not super sweet. You can taste the quality. I am so excited to come back and try more drinks. They also have a few other treats, like brownies. For kids, they have non caffeinated drinks. Staff is friendly and quick. We came on a Friday around lunch hour and maybe waited 5 minutes! I hear their coconut cloud matcha is a favorite amongst returning customers :)

I anticipate the line to be bonkers esp on weekends as the weather gets warmer and recommend coming midday if you can. Great quality drink. Didn't love the dairy milk. Excited to try other items on the menu. Friendly and communicate service.

The breading is similar to Japanese katsu however it is tenderized mechanically from the holes inside of it. It's good and dense. For the price $19 - it's a good meal set. The place is tight so be prepared to have narrow walking space. You pay before eating which is nice. The vents here aren't that strong so when you leave you will smell like fried food. Service was awesome and the Thai lady (I think) who has a cute doggo, was super friendly and personable. She gives off amazing mama energy!

Still just as good as the other location. I've now came here twice since the opening. Not only do I enjoy it but my wife does as well. She's hard to please. Wasn't all that crowded so we got our food pretty quick. Employees were nice and attentive. We would stop by again. read more
