Okay, if you're looking to have some fabulous drinks and play a variety of games, this is the place. HOWEVER, I do not recommend the food here. The pizza honestly reminds me of Totinos pizzas that are frozen and you cook in the oven. I'm aware that Playfield will be moving to a new location which will hopefully inspire them to improve their food. On the bright side, they have a large variety of drinks, beers on tap and liquor. They have an ATM to exchange for quarters to play games. I've gone to Playfield 76 a few times and I've always had a good time whether it was to hang out with friends and enjoy some food and drinks or to play the arcade games within the bar. The services has always been great and pretty quick to get a drink or for our food order to come out. The happy hour deals are really good too! We recently tried some of their specialty cocktails and they were really good and only $8 during happy hour. Quick update on Playfield after my last visit, still a great spot but they have changed up their dining option and are now serving from Burgers, Sliders and Fries from Nola Food Truck. They operate out of the kitchen so the service is still pretty quick, but it's worth mentioning since they had such a broad menu before and now you will need to be in the mood for burger options if you want to eat here. Still one of my go to places to enjoy with friends, and the service is always great! read more

We love this place!! My husband and I took our engagement photos here about a year ago and continue to come back all of the time. Today we brought some new friends to the bar for their first time - and it was a hit! We didn't play any games but the food and drink itself was enough to encourage them to come back. Normally I get The Shag Carpet but this time I switched it up! I wasn't disappointed. All of the drinks are delicious and the candied bacon was a hit between me and my friend! I hadn't been here before and we were trying a ton of places for the Reno Food and Drink Week. We decided this would be a good way to have a little foodie tour of downtown. App and a drink here then a meal somewhere else afterwards. It worked out really well because I was able to try the Bison Egg Rolls and something from the taps. I really enjoyed the egg rolls and would definitely come back for those. We didn't have time to get some pinball games going but they seem to have a pretty good selection of machines. This is an updated review specifically about their food! I already gave them 5 stars for the drinks and overall vibe of the arcade bar. We came here last Sunday since it was their monthly free play day (last Sunday of every month). We split a few appetizers including the mini corn dogs and poutine fries! Both came with nice serving sizes and tasted really good. A little bummed that the cheese curds were more like melted cheese and stuck to the fries. The mini corn dogs were bigger than your typical mini corn dogs and came with just enough for a few people to split. We were disappointed that they were all out of fried pickles, that would've been our go-to app to get. I always have an enjoyable time at Playfield 76! We've been a few times now. The first time we just played street fighter and Skeeball and had some tasty drinks. On a busy night the bartenders were attentive and speedy with drinks. We came with a friend last night for drinks and food. I'm doing dry January so I asked the bartender for a mock tail. None were listed but he mixed up a yummy minty limeade. My friend ordered and aperol spritz and the boyf got their special old fashioned. The burnt cinnamon in the drink wasn't my favorite addition but it was a quality drink. We also ordered the chicken sandwich and slice of pizza. Pizza was tasty and had ample pepperoni. I love being able to have a slice with my drinks. The chicken sandwich was very juicy. The breading kind of slid off which was a bummer. Solid chicken sando at a great price point. Come for the games stay for the food! I have to say I was so shocked to hear that this "barcade" had such a unique and delicious menu. To start, of course there are so many fun arcade games both new and classic. From pinball machines, skeeball, Rampage, and Pac-Man there's definitely something for everyone! It's a very spacious place with long tables perfect for groups as well as smaller tables for a more intimate seating. My first time there we had ordered the mini corndogs, wings, cheese curds, and poutine. It was at this point the bartender taking our order said "Aren't you getting a pizza?" and said that we HAD to try the French Dip Pizza that comes with au jus and he was 1000% correct. A definite MUST try. It is such a prime example of an inspired pizza: tastes like the sandwich but is definitely a pizza all on its own. The mini corndogs while yes, short and cute, are actually pretty large, kielbasa sized dogs with a nice thin layer of batter that actually sticks and doesn't fall off when you bite into it. I also enjoy the honey mustard dipping sauce that comes with. The cheese curds and poutine are fun comfort snacks that I feel like I don't run into too often here on the west coast so I always look forward to having them at Playfield. Finally, you need something to wash all that great food down and their cocktails do not disappoint. I think my favorite has to be the Mairzy Doats: gin, lemon, blackberry and ...oat milk! It might seem strange but it is a really great combo! Other favorites are the Sex on the Peach, also gin based and great if you like mild and sweet drinks, the Pimmp's Cup, refreshing tequila based drink, and the tropically Tango in Tulum. While I've only ever had the cocktails they also have plenty of beer/wine options as well house shots! My most recent visit I learned that you can order and pay on your phone directly from your table, very convenient! They also have Happy Hour form 4-6pm and the kitchen is open until midnight. We made arrangements to have our wedding party meet up here based on the games, space, and menu we saw online that showed pizza, wings, and other food options. We intended on buying dinner for the folks who traveled to attend our wedding but had to scramble to make other arrangements because they have changed their menu to hot dogs only. The good: the happy hour drink specials were a good deal and there was plenty of space for our group. The bad: no good food options and some of the video games were jammed (Ms. Pac-Man!) and took our quarters. We didn't bother to complain since we knew we had to move the party to find food for everyone. Great place to bring your out of town friends and family! I personally love playfield because not only do they have awesome games, they also have awesome food. There are other establishments in town that have old school games and snacks but not one that has real food. You can come here and not leave hungry especially after a night of being extra thirsty here! All of their specialty cocktails are tasty! You can definitely find something to quench your thirst. They list their games on their website so if you're looking for something in particular, you can check it out online first! Tl;Dr - Retro arcade, elevated bar menus, and integrated food vendor selling absolutely killer sliders, etc. Not a bad way to spend a few hours. Ducked in here after a concert, was around 11 or so, options were limited to casinos or obscure late night diners. We picked this spot and man, what a treat. First thing you notice is the lovingly curated selections of arcade machines featuring some truly solid choices. If you know, you know there but everything I saw I loved. I was there for the food though, so we sat down and looked at the scan menu, found a great deal on a pack of sliders, 3x chicken, 3x beef. We got a couple sides also. When that food came out, I already knew it was going to be good. Oversized thin crispy patties on buns with pickle and sauce. The chicken, fried to absolute perfection, crispy and moist. At that hour, I probably would of ate near anything but I have to say, that blew my expectations out of the water. I'm from the Midwest and the only time I saw a burger that good in the thin and crispy way was on a good day at Steak N Shake (which I found out later they actually have one in Reno). Whoever is making those sliders, chefs kiss. We also had a few cocktails while we were there. Pricing was more than fair and the quality was also very good. Absolutely will be returning here next time we are in town, locals are lucky to have this little hideout. read more

This place is a whole vibe. It's nice to see a barcade done reasonably well here. The couplet attempts we've had more felt like very run of the mill bars that had a few machines to bash buttons on. Play field offers a hip and elevated atmosphere to enjoy some of your favorite classics. I'll admit their roster feels a bit small but the aesthetic of the joint makes up for it. They had 10-12 pinball machines, 12-15 arcade cabinets ranging from all eras, a couple Smee all lanes and three quick shot basketball lanes. The decor makes you feel like you slipped back in time a bit as everything is decked out in a color palette and style that your grandmother would likely be proud of. I was having so much fun with my group that I only snapped a shot of the pizza buuuut all of the food we tried was amazing. Corn dog bites were great, I'm not sure how you make a corn dog amazing but I enjoyed them thoroughly! The cheese curds were probably my favorite because who doesn't like fried cheese? We also had curry wurst fries I believe is what they were, it was a new spin on some smothered fries! A close second place had to be the prosciutto pizza. I was barely hungry by the time that came out and I managed to still devour three slices shamelessly. As for the drink side of things they have a nice selection with a handful of their own creations. I only stuck to making a tour through their beers which were all fantastic. The bartenders are decked out with aprons that definitely vibe with the hip aesthetic of Playfield. I will definitely be back to have some more good times at Playfield. The only real complaint I have is the music was a couple notches too loud for the first couple hours of the evening when we had just a handful of people in the joint. P76 was offering happy hour from 5-7 pm, which meant we had a couple more drinks than we should have. :p They have a wide variety of beer options on the tap and I tried 3 different ones, all of which were great! So fun! We visited Reno for the weekend and aren't into gambling sand stumbled on the place on Yelp. We spent a couple hours here playing skeeball and a few video games, then had some appetizers and cocktails. We stopped in for a drink and we're greeted with an amazing atmosphere of FUN! The music is upbeat 70s vibe. It's an open airy bar. Great service. The GM checked on us and I barely waited for the bartender to acknowledge me! The arcade games are on point! Love love love! My new favorite bar. My friends and I came for a Sunday afternoon happy hour, and it was such a great time. I love that they offer happy hour every day at 4-6pm (weekends included!). Happy hour cocktails were a hugeee steal, for $5-6 each. I got a Moscow Mule, and it was delish! 10/10. Happy hour snacks were also only $4-5 each, and we ordered fried pickles and truffle fries. The fried pickles were okay (wish there was more breading), but the truffle fries were so yummy! Would absolutely recommend those. Most of their games are vintage pinball/arcade machines, but they also have ski ball, air hockey, and some fun multiplayer games! You'll find something you like. :) And don't forget to bring cash! I'd recommend bringing $1 or $5 bills so you don't have to exchange large bills into coins. The bartender was kind enough to convert our larger bills into smaller ones. Run don't walk to this fun bar! This is my new favorite bar! I never thought a new bar could fill the hole that was the previous bar of my college years, but I was wrong. This bar has it all: good drinks, good food, good prices, and games. We went on a Friday around 5:30 just in time to catch the last 30 minutes of happy hour (4-6 every day). This included small bites (pickle chips for $5 were soo good), $3 well drinks, and beer (can't remember the price). We got three drinks and three plates of food and only spent $30. We played air hockey, but there are tons of arcade games throughout the entire bar to choose from. My husband and I are so glad this place opened! We didn't realize that Imperial Bar changed hands when we parked nearby, but it has been transformed into a super fun place! Lots of pinball machines and classic arcade games make it a perfect date night for us. The decor is fun, too, with album covers lining the entryway setting the tone. The bartender was very nice and attentive. He said it gets pretty packed here on the weekends and I can understand why. Took my wife to Playfield 76 the other night after the Betty White memorial for a pick me up and I was not Disappointed... When we walked in we sat at the beautiful stock bar that took up the whole long wall!! I was like a kid in the candy shop!!! The 76s girls were very nice to us and really took care of us with our order. The food was great and the chef hand delivered the food to us!!!! 76 was set up great with chairs in the middle of the room with tables to sit and enjoy each other's company... The pinball machines were ready to go with cup holders and small tables by machines like Ms Pac-Man to put your drinks down. We played all night to the likes of the Adams Family and Circus Voltaire... It brought me back to playing pinball in Ocean City MD in the 60s at Marty's Playland! Whether you come to visit early afternoon on a Sunday, taste one of their summer weeknight pop ups, or stumble in on a busy Saturday night, playfield has a different atmosphere for what you're feeling. The games are moderately inexpensive and they have a pretty good selection ranging from pinball to racing games and a few unique ones like beer pong. There is plenty of seating to get your grub on and their regular menu is stellar. The truffle fries and the French dip pizza are the things of dreams. It can be a little tough to get a drink if you're not sitting directly at the bar, but I chalk this up to them being pretty busy every time I come in. Business must be booming!
